Color Schemes/Visual Customization

I've always had bad luck with 3rd party GUI customization tools, so are there any provided by apple that'll allow me to change the look [just very basic stuff, like the close/minimize/maximize button colors] safely, or is there a way for me to do it myself fairly easily that anyone can recommend?
Thanks

uh...I meant for this to be a completely different topic, not about disabling animations and such but purely about skinning, though I should've used that word I guess. I don't believe skinning fits into the other topic, because a totally different group of applications are used for that, as far as I've seen. So, that's why I posted this topic, not as an intentional rephrase of the other, but I'll try those programs and ask again later if they don't answer this one as well.

  • How to customize Flash Chart color scheme (Look 1 etc..)

    Hi,
Is their any way I can customize the Flash Chart color schemes (Look 1, Look 2). I know there's a "Custom" option but I'd like to define what Look 1 is so that I don't need to use custom values for each chart.
    Thank you,

    Thank you Dimitri
What you suggest is what I am currently doing.
But let's say I have to change the colors in all my graphs, I would have to go through all of them and change the "Custom Colors".
I was looking for something similar to a template where I would only have to change the color definition in one place...

  • Is there a way to switch back to the old color scheme for the keypad? The new black-on-white color scheme is more difficult to see and use for the visually impaired.

Is there a way to switch back to the old color scheme for the keypad? After upgrading to ios 6, the keypad switched to a black-on-white color scheme.  I have a severe visual impairment and found the previous white-on-black color scheme much easier to see and use.
The inverted colors option doesn’t make things look all that better.    My dad, who does not have any serious vision problems, has put off upgrading his iphone because of the color scheme changes.

I have exactly the same concern. It seems it would be a simple fix for Apple to allow users to turn off the camera (and even the mic) while keeping FaceTime open -- especially now that it turns out FaceTime must remain open in order to send and receive iPhone calls on a Mac.
I like to think this new functionality of FaceTime will be baked into a future release of Yosemite, as the current setup has that not-quite-finished feel of a work in progress. In the meantime, there's nothing like a little piece of Post-It stuck over the camera to keep the NSA from watching your face as you type a post to the Apple Support Communities.

    Hi, Everyone
I really need your help for Excel 2010.

tab in the "copy color from" box, click the down arrow and select the workbook which contains the color schemes
Then I can find and use the color imported.
For 2010, Click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Excel Options. Click on Save.
Under 'Preserve Visual Appearance of the workbook'
    Click on Colors
Click on 'dropdown box' of Copy Colors from and select the file I want to copy the colors from and click OK.
Click OK to close the Excel Options dialog box.
In Excel 2010, I cann't find the color imported in the color palette, nor use it of cause.
If you have any idea, please don't hesitate put your answers, I really need the solution for it. Thanks in advanced

    Hi,
I tried the following and it worked!
To copy your existing colour palette to a document or template in Excel 2010:
    <dir>
Open the file (containing the existing colour palette to copy) with version Excel 2010
    Go to tab "Page Layout"
Click on the Icon "Themes" (Themes menu)
Go to the bottom page and click "Save current Theme..."
Give a name with extension *.thmx (e.g. "mycolours.thmx")
The theme will be available to use and copy in other existing Excel documents repeating the actions described.
For new documents the recommendation is to create a workbook or a template.
    </dir>

  • Skype for Business color scheme

The new Skype for Business looks as if colored by a preschooler with two crayons; blue and blue.  It is difficult to read and simply looks unprofessional.
Please include an option to change the color scheme in the next release.

I second the motion.  IT rolled out the Skype for Business and I literally typed out one message to a user and saw the blue-on-blue color theme and started clicking frantically.   It is too bright and having both parties appear in blue is confusing and quite frankly WRONG.
Please allow users to customize this.   I suggest a box that says "Chat Box Background Color" that has a couple of different options.  Please talk to your programmers.  I am pretty sure this is an easy fix.
    Thanks.

  • Color blind users and default color scheme

Has anyone else had to support color blind users, and found that the default OBIEE color scheme (e.g. for line graphs) didn't work for them?
I was going to file an SR about this, but wanted to see what other folks were doing, if anything.

    Hi Dog Lover!
Have you had any luck finding information since your original posting?
There are resources on the internet that offer those with normal color vision a glimpse at what colors a color deficient observer might perceive, but I haven't heard of any tools for doing the reverse...
The actual in-the-brain process of color sensation isn't fully understood yet, so anything that simulates what someone with color deficiency might see is an educated guess at best.
Check out www.colorhelper.com. There's a software product called the eyePilot that allows you to distinguish a single color apart from any others on a web page or other sources of visual media. I don't know how accurate it is, and I haven't tried it myself, but there's a trial version available so perhaps it could be useful.
Your best bet would be to have someone you know with normal color vision check your web pages and give you feedback on what colors work well together. You can also check color coordinate values (RGB, Lab, etc.) on images in Photoshop by using the eyedropper tool and the "INFO" information window.
    Hope this helps!

  • Scroll bar color to set to same as the color specfied in .cfg color scheme

    Hi Nimphius
I set the in .cfg file color scheme to Khaki and my manager likes the color for all forms across but I can not set same color to scroll bar, I tried to give the back ground property to r140g142b123 but forms not taking it.
Can you please help me how to set get same color (Khaki) to scroll bar.
Please reply if anybody face same kind of problem.
    Thanks in advance
    Murthy

This is problem with Oracle forms, They design something and that might not work with other colors.
When they put color scheme to Khaki, Dont they think to give same visual attribute to give in property pallte,
Last time I had tought time integrating web utils built-in.
I do not know what to do get out of this silly stupid color issue.
I appreciate if any of forms designers thought of this issue.
    Any feed back is welcome.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Migrating Homesite Settings like Color Scheme

    Hi,
I've just setup a new development machine and wish to migrate
my homesite settings over. I've spent a lot of time on editing
color coding, editor settings, RDS servers etc. Is there an easy
    way to do this?
I tried overwriting my homesite installation on the new
machine with my old folder but that didn't work.

    Found it!
You can back up your color coding schemes or save them to
transfer the settings to another computer. All color coding
customizations are stored in the registry. Found here:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Allaire\HomeSite45\CustomParserSettings
    or
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Macromedia\HomeSite5\CustomParserSettings
... or in similar keys for other versions of the software...
    Just export this key.
Here is how you do that:
    1. Start | Run | type in "regedit"
    2. Browse to
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Macromedia\HomeSite5\CustomParserSettings
    3. Select the CustomParserSettings folder
    4. Then select from the top menu bar Registry | Export
    Registry Key
    5. Name it and save it to a place you will remember
    (DeskTop) as a .reg file.
    6. If you are copying these settings to a different
computer, then copy that file over to that computer.
    7. Install HomeSite if it was not already installed.
    8. After installation, double click on the reg file, it will
automatically update your registry and restore your color coloring
    customizations.
Note: this is not saving custom parsers you might have added,
just the color selections that you might have chosen to use for
    particular coloring schemes.

  • How do I change the color scheme on my new Iphone 4s

I accidentally changed the color scheme of the new 4s I purchase, I mean everything inluding the look of apps and thier colors.
It makes my pictures I take look all screwed up...they all look almost Sepia and like an exposed role of film.
How do I change the color scheme back to the original settings?

You seem to be referring to more than the background wallpaper for the home screen.  There are no "color scheme" settings in the phone - you may have activated white on black used for the visually impaired.
Settings > General > Accessibility > White on Black >OFF

  • Color Schemes delivered with Outlook are terrible

Sorry, I don't know of a nice way to say it, but the as-delivered color schemes for Outlook 2010 are horrid.
All 3 of the colors are very difficult to read. What happened to the nice legible look of the demo? Is there a way to have button outlines for that good old "organized" look, or is the wave of the future this "floaty" look? I sure hope not. This looks look
like it was lifted from a Mac.
Sorry to sound so negative, but this just seems like a big step backwards.
If anyone has something helpful I would appreciate it, but I'm guessing the answer is that this is just how it is.

The new color schemes in Office 2010 are awfull.
    The lack

    leads
    to people
    with
    visual disabilities,
    have
    great difficulty

    I myself am
    a web designer,
    who
    for years
    has worked
    with color schemes
    on websites

    it is therefore
    incomprehensible, that
    a company
    like Microsoft,
    does not
    take into account
    these

    I
    have been happy

  • Alternative to colors of 'Java Color Scheme' ?

    Hi friends,
in Apps R12 I'd like to set, both in Forms and OAF screens , different colors than standard ones.
I know that through profile 'Java Color Scheme' can be specified : teal, titanium, red, khaki, blue, olive, or purple.
But.. what about if I want to create my own combinations and see them in Forms, in OAF or in both... ? Where are stored these configurations?
(I'm particulary interested on changing Forms appearance)
    Thanks
    Jose L.

    Hi Hussein,
thanks for your reply, but I don't see clear yet...
Following post and links.. I saw:
" you'll still be able to customize colour schemes in the new Swan UI. "
But how to do it? and.. It would only apply to OAF ? what about forms...?
I continue investigating... but.. without good references...
    Thanks,

  • Changing Gray/Black Color Scheme

    Hello,
I'm a total noob who's retired and losing my eyesight. Thank

I'm not designing for a living :-) but rather just doing a

    PROBLEM:
The new CS4 color scheme is giving me problems. Black print
    on dark
gray borders (menu bars, title bars, etc.) is really a pain
    and
becoming nearly impossible to navigate without clicking my
    way across the screen..
Is there a way to change this? I bought the entire CS4 Master

    Thank you!

Check the CS4 help under Accessibility / Dreamweaver

this is the info from CS3 help:
Support for operating system accessibility features
Dreamweaver supports accessibility features in both the
    Windows and
Macintosh operating systems. For example, on the Macintosh
    you set the
visual preferences in the Universal Access Preferences dialog
    box (Apple >
System Preferences). Your settings are reflected in the

The Windows operating system¹s high contrast setting is
    also supported. You
activate this option through the Windows Control Panel and it
    affects
    Dreamweaver as follows:
Dialog boxes and panels use system color settings. For
    example, if you set
the color to White on Black, all Dreamweaver dialog boxes and
    panels appear
with a white foreground color and black background.
Code view uses the system and window text color. For example,
    if you set the
system color to White on Black, and then change text colors
    in Edit >
Preferences > Code Coloring, Dreamweaver ignores
    those color settings and
displays the code text with a white foreground color and

  • Can anything be done to change the white on grey color scheme in Bookmarks?

I just upgraded my Mac Book Pro to OS X Version 10.9.1. I was horrified when I got a look at what Apple has done to Safari!  I have macular degeneration - which means that my eyesight is slowly fading away.  Bookmarks was especially difficult because all of the bookmrks are shown with a white on grey color scheme.  And when the "new" Apple color schemes are not white on grey - they are grey on white.  I simply can NOT see anything which is white on grey.  OR white on ANY light color.  In order to be able to see anything, I need to have contrast.  For example, as I type on this page, the scroll bar is grey on white.  It has become almost impossible for me to find the scroll bar on most pages.  Previously, my scroll bars where usually bright blue.  I can see bright blue on white - but NOT grey on white.  I can read white letters on BRIGHT or DARK Blue -but NOT light blue.
Apple has made SO many strides in makes computers accessable to those of us who have no other choice except to deal with disabilities!  Can ANYTHING be done to change the white on grey color scheme which Apple has adopted throughout its system?
Now, in order to use my Bookmarks, I have to go to my Edit Bookmarks page.  Even that solutation is not all that helplful, because the lettering on the Edit Bookmarks page is so small.
Also - I discovered that the "new" Mail pages had the same problem.  For the most part, the "innovations" in mail make all of the pages too busy for me to be able to sort my mail or keep track of it in any way.  I had to choose to return to the "classic" mail option to be able to get a reasonable facsimile of being able to handle my E mail accounts!
And, of course, once again, the scroll bar on my mail accounts is also grey on white - so it takes a lot of searching for me to just find the scroll bar when I need to scroll down in an E mail!
ALSO - I was equally horrified when I discovered that the Upgrade to Version 10.9.1 made it impossible for me to visit some of my favorite music pages - most of which use MIDI files!  I can no longer hear any of my favorite MIDI music pages!  I TUNES, of course, is in love with people like Lady Gaga - the type of performers - and performances - which have no relevance to older Americans.
I do volunteer work at a local Assisted Living facility and one of the greatest advances we have been able to make with Alzheimers patients is the way in which Senior Citizens respond to music from their time period.  Unfortunately, most of the music which senior citizens prefer to listen to is music which has been preserved in MIDI pages.  A few weeks before I "upgraded" my Mac Book Pro - I could take my computer over to the local Assisted Living Facility and play music from Hymn Time's Cyberhymnal or the Angelwinks tunes - but I can NO longer do that with the current Apple "upgrade" in version 10.9.1 - because the music from those MIDI pages can no longer be heard by anyone!  The page comes up and you can see the writing - but no one can hear any of the music.  We understand that a group in Switzerland has been working on an APP for I Phones which DOES make MIDI files accessable - so surely it should be possible to provide a way for Version 10.9.1 users to listen to MIDI files, such as those provided by Hymn Time's Cyber Hymnal or by Angelwinks!
You will notice that I changed the font for this to Arial Black - primarily because I could NOT see what I was writing when I first began - because, once again, the color scheme was grey on white.

    Hi Grandma,

There is an Apple Support Community called Vision:

I shall ask the Moderators (Hosts) to move your discussion to that forum.
    Kind regards,

    Hi Vani!
    1. Unfortunately one of my requirements is that I can only get data from queries and not from Web Services or other sources, so no WS calling would be allowed in my deployed I-View, but thanks anyway for your suggestion.
    2. You are right, I was not clear enough in my first post. Let's say I have 3 rows and 12 columns, what I want is the following:
    ROW3 = ROW1 / ROW2
obviously for each column. Do you have an idea about how it could be done??

  • Changing default color scheme when exporting ALV report to Excel spreadshee

    Hi all,
We have a bunch of FI reports created using OOPS in abap.  Each of the reports has the functionality to be exported to an excel spreadsheet.  When exporting to Excel, the headers are a very dark brown color, making them difficult to read and it has been requested that they are shaded a lighter color.  I have not defined any sort of color scheme within the report itself, and I was wondering if there was a way to change the color scheme when exporting the report to excel.  Let me know if there is anything that can be done, thanks!
