Color selection
I can not select a background color from the picker in Photoshop Elements and apply it to the toolbar at the bottom left of the screen. It stays grey all the time.
Try from the swatches. From the menu click:
Window >> Color Swatches

How can I pop up a Color Selection table?
When I click on a color box control in the front panel,it will pop up a color selction table.My question is how can I control the pop up of the color selection table in the diagram?for example,if a boolean control is clicked then I want to pop up the color selection table,If the color selection table is an Active Control,what's the name if it?

web links do not show as visited according to my color selection in content menu. visited sites/links should be in red, mine are not changing after a visit to a sits. A good example would be a visit to a news article in google. mu colors are set to res for visited sites - it does not happen, in fact nothing changes
Google is using a visited color (#551a8b) that is hardly distinguishable from the unvisited color (#2200cc), so may not notice it.
* Make sure that you not run Firefox in (permanent) [[Private Browsing]] mode
* You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
* To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting <b>Firefox will: Use custom settings for history</b>
* Uncheck: [ ] "Automatically start Firefox in a private browsing session"
You can look at these prefs on the about:config page to make sure that you keep history.

Bug: 9780 blue color selection cursor missing
I am having the blue color selection cursor missing when I do the following:
At home screen, click blackberry button to open tray, but blue color cursor not shown and I cannot select application. I need to close tray and try few times.
At home screen, scroll to the top to open network panel for changing 2G or 3G. But the blue cursor not shown and I need to close it and reopen few times.Hejdo,
Have you tried to repair permissions, and check/repair disk? Looks like some Finder plist file getting corrupted after a little use of your computer. Also, you could try and create a new user account, and log in onto this new account, to check if your problems exist on this new account too. If not, then something is going awry on your own (admin?) account; if not, well, then your issue is system-wide. -
I just spent a while figuring this out so I'm posting the solution.
I'm running OS X Lion and it seems that Apple has done away with the little oval button in the upper right hand of windows that allows you to hide/unhide toolbars. You can usually just right click on the menu area and find the option as well but not always. Anyway, I was trying to select a color in Pages and was stuck on the crayon selector which is the least useful. The oval button is gone and you can't right click so if you had the toolbar icons for the Colorwheel, etcetera, hidden when you upgraded, you're stuck on whatever you last had selected.
Solution - Command + Option +T is the shortcut for hiding/unhiding toolbars and this brings the color selection icons back in the little crayon color window.
Apple should really just return the oval button though ...Oh, I can add a few lost features from the Bold:
No UMA internet calling
No list of forthcoming diary entries in the calendar agenda view
Enter key sends a text or bbm, instead of generating a new line of text (how daft is that?)
and of course the select text, cut and paste is horrible.

Color selection display in adjustment brush
I notice that the color palette as displayed in the adjustment brush has changed. Below is the display for 5.0
and below this is display for 5.2RC
Wonder if this is signicant. I know it dosent change any thing regarding color selection.
Just wondering. I suppose it is more logical geometrically.

If you hold down your Alt/Opt key while hovering over the color picker, you can click and drag the band whereever you like it. Note, this does not change the Value (number) of the Hue, only where it appears on the screen.
You can set your Hue to 0 and then drag it back to the left side using the Alt-Click-Drag if it bothers you. -
Outlook Express - Color Selection
Hello:
I am using OE 5.0.7,I have deactivated all of the color
selection controls in the Preferances. But when I get e-mails from organizations and or companies the message header shows up in a Maroon type color - the message it's self shows in black.
Only message headers from private individuals come in black. I have checked everything I know to check but cannot get the message header to show in black just like the message
it's self.
My Partner uses her own side/profile of OE on the same iMac and does not have my problem with the Maroon type color in
the message header.
Any suggestions on how I can remedy this problem greatly

Color selection tool has stopped working [was: need help with indesign cs6]
I am working in InDesign cs6 and my color selection tool stopped working.
Do I reply here? I have been creating a newspaper in InDesign cs6 and the color selection box won't work any longer. It used to work just fine, but now it won't let me access it.
Someone in tech support last night before they went away, was directing me to: Go to Folder from my desktop, and then to Preferences, then to ~/Library/, then to InDesign version 8.0 and en US. Then we lost contact and I didn't know what to do next, so I still have the problem. -
EPM WebAnalysis - bug in color selection dialog

In WA, color selection dialog does not work (11.1.1.2 and 11.1.1.3 versions). Steps to reproduce bug:
1) Open and login to WebAnalysis
2) Select File -> Preferences
3) Select "SpreadSheet"
4) Click Background color (or any other color selection button)
5) An empty window will be opened. In Java console, there will be message: "*[ERROR] HYAColorChooserDlgPanel - -Invalid mnemonic index: 8*"
Is there any workarounds on this? I did not found any metalink notes about this bug.

Bug: Holding slider in Photoshop CS3 color selection dialog causes issues under Windows 7
I was using the color selection dialog this morning and discovered that clicking and holding the vertical slider or the little arrows for about three or four seconds causes Windows 7 to declare Photoshop CS3 as being unresponsive. The whole Photoshop UI starts freaking out at that point: The color selection dialog "vanishes" and black bars start appearing all across the application. Minimizing and then showing the application restores it to its previous state.

Is the gradient color selection workflow fixed in CS6?

Double clicking the color in the toolbox panel to bring up the color picker, resets the angle of the gradient. The only way to use the color picker for a gradient color is to preselect it and place it in the color swatch. This is a blatantly incorrect implementation of a common workflow. Has this been fixed in CS6?Okay.....
The color panel is essentially useless. Adjusting color based on RGB values is incredibly difficult/retarded.
Possibly, of course there's a color ramp at the bottom of the Panel as well.
The number of colors available for a particular hue are very limited. There is no reasonable way to change the saturation of a color.
Really? Again show me a single color you can not achieve via the color panel which the color picker can.
As for saturation... I guess setting the panel to HSB (Hue/Saturation/Brightness) wouldn't qualify?
Because of it, there is essentially no way to select from a wide range of colors and be able to live preview the color for a gradient, a standard way of doing things in Photoshop and every other graphics software.
Hmmm... again... the color ramp means nothing? You can't move sliders? You've not tried Live Color/Recolor Artwork at all???
Why not just outright state that you aren't comfortable with Illustrator and want it to conform to things you are comfortable with rather than learning to use Illustrator.
The entire "every other graphics software" section is completely incorrect. Painter doesn't use the color picker the same way any Adobe app does. In fact, once you venture away from Adobe you find many graphics apps approach color selection in many different ways. And even within Adobe software.. explain Fireworks color selection.... Indesign color selection... After Effects color selection.... Even merely looking at Adobe products alone your statement falls apart. You just want it to "be like Photoshop."
Look, I totally "get" that some people prefer the way Photoshop works. And I understand that they may want everything to operate exactly like Photoshop does if for no other reason so they can seamlessly move from app to app with as little a learning curve as possible. The reality is, Illustrator is NOT Photoshop. You can complain until you are blue in the face, that's not going to change the app. Adapt or fail. -
Help with color selection bug?
Whenever I go to the color selection menu and select a color, it shows the color and I can select various colors. Then I go back to the canvas, and it turns gray, and only shows gray in the little "current color box." I'm wondering if I may have accidentally changed something, or if it's just not cooperating. It seems to only be on select canvases though, because I opened a different project and the colors worked fine. Someone, please help!
Check the color mode of your document under Image>Mode. You want RGB Color.
Also make sure you don't have a layer mask active. -
Easy color select / change in Touch Version

I just have three propsals for improvements:
Easy color selection for highlights: Please bring an additional button into the taskbar to selct the color for the tool you selected. Its too many clicks to change the color. If i work on a doc I need at least 4 Colors changing nearly every highlight.
Add Text to Doc Feature (Not Notes/Comment in a bubble)
Add the "Page from" feature. Save somewhere in your programms folder a setting for every pdf you open. Let someone select how many pages will be skipped for the numbering. You know many Publications will have additional pages in front until the Page 1 starts. So if i use the "go to page" feature i will go instaed of page 88 to page 84 or so. I know many readers in Android do have this feature. And it would be nice to have also within your original reader for Win8 Touch.
Numbers also my priority. Hope you find this proposals inspiring as well.

Selective color, selective colour
Hi all,
I have had a root around and can find nothing on Selective Colouring in Final Cut Pro X. Partly because it's hard to isolate search terms in order not to get advice on FCP Studio. Is there somewhere someone can direct me to, to get selecting? i.e isolating a red coat as in schindler's list. I can't even find a marquee/wand tool or anything like that (photoshop person, you see!).

However, you might end up needing to do the keying in Motion, depending on how complex the color selection becomes. The tools in FCP X are geared more to green-screens. -
How do I change the "gray" color selection for icons in Finder to brown?
Is there a way to change the selection of colors offered by the dropdown File menu for desktop and folder icons? I use a lot of color coding for the files and folders in my windows, and gray just looks like "dimmed out" to me.
I know how to get the color wheel in Microsoft Word (or the crayolas, or whatever). Is there a way to do that for Finder as well, without a lot of technical talk (ranges, percentages, etc.) that I can't understand? Thanks for any help out there!Grey is not the only color showing up.
If you want more colors other than the ones found in Finder, you will need to use a 3rd party product. Something like CandyBar will do the trick or download colorful folders and icons. These softwares can be found on MacUpdate and by doing a Google search.
