Color Shards, Jumbled Colors on Screen

Since yesterday, my display occasionally becomes overrun with what I can only describe as "color shards." Just, big, triangular colors. Sometimes they have distorted letters in them, are sold, stripped, or in a gradient. It usually happens when a graphical change is happening in that area (like, scrolling) but, not always. It has happened suddenly to a static screen. It is remedied by scrolling, or playing with Expose. It happens in a variety of ways:
~ Whole screen covered
~ A line of text
~ Certain zones (like, where the time is, or in a box a flash game is playing in)
~ Very odd places... like, in a Numbers document there once was a gradient purple to white triangle that was behind everything not white, and showing through everything white, perfectly justified with the border.
No big changes recently. World of Warcraft was installed yesterday. I can't think of anything else.

Sounds like your video card maybe failing. If you have the previous Macbook Pro version, you may be experiencing the 8600gt failure that has plagued that line. I would take it to the Apple Store or call Applecare.

IPhone showing crazy colors on screen when recording video?

I seem to be having a problem with my iPhone when I go to record video. I get this crazy colored looking screen (it shows up in the video and you can see it on screen when recording). Any ideas as to how to fix this?

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. I understand that you are experiencing issues recording video on your iPhone. If you haven’t already done so, I would recommend forcing the camera application to close and restarting your device:

How to provide background color to screen elements in screen designing?

Hi all
    I am preparing a screen in module pool programming.
    I created 1 screen in that.
    How can i provide colors or background colors to my screen elements on that screen.
    Is this facility is there?

I don't think it is posible... change the colour of screen element but you can only change the background color of screen but you can not put any elemnet on that screen using picture control check for program RSDEMO_PICTURE_CONTROL will help you.

Pick up color from screen in Adobe Draw

That's my question, is there a pick color tool? I know that there is a color history but a lot of times I make subtle changes in color and I want to paint over some part of the drawing with the same color to correct something and I can't find the exact color in the history.
is there a puck color from screen tool?

Do you mean the background-color of the actual site, or are you talking about the color of the DW interface?
In DWCC, you can go to Modify > Page Properties to change things like the background-color, text color and more for the actual web page.
You can also change it in the CSS Designer panel by creating a body selector in the css, then make the change in the CSS Designer's properties sub window.

We can't. SAP only provides this standard black text. You can however set text fields as bright (in fields properties) which will eventually be displayed in blue color. That's all you can do about this.
There is also one other option of using [Dynamic Documents|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/10/246858055711d4a7410000e83dd863/frameset.htm] which allows to display text in diffent styles (colors and fonts), but this are rather used in forms or as top-of-page in ALVs, not to work with screens themselves.

How can i chang color of screen background

have HP Pavilion desk model. windows 7.
Cannot find where i can change color of background of screen.
was white and seems to have changed to light green. I did not do anythng for this to happen?

The color of screen seems too bright

I've just upgrage my system. The fonts of tty became very small and very bright after that. I just startx as usual but find the color of screen is so bright that I cannot see the fonts clearly and and kwin effect disappear.
I've reinstall my video card driver and remove xorg.conf but it didn't help. any ideas? thx~

The font in the TTY is probably small, because of the higher resolution that is possible with KMS. You can change the font size and the colors for the text in the TTYs, though. I can send you more info on that in some hours if you want.

I do not have a DVi cable so I cannot try DVI connection.
It seems a known bug.It has been reported and discussed a lot here:

Colors printed do not match color on screen

When printing photos from adobe elements I cant ge the same colors as on the screen -come out much lighter. have tried mackinc the colors on screen darker in hopes of geting the color i want -doesnt work completely

Although I didn't ask this original question, earlier today this happened to my eMac. I must say that I immediately went in to panic mode. After I settled down and tried unsuccessfully to correct the problem, I decided to try this discussion board. MaX Rule's solution fixed it lke that. So thank you. Is it possible to create a PDF with different colors for screen and printing?

I'm working on a document that features light colored text on a dark background. I'll be sending this document as a PDF to someone who will likely want to print it. Is it possible to set up the document such that it will display this way when viewed on screen, but will print as black text on a white background, without requiring any special action on the part of the recipient?
Printing a color separation of just the text color produces exactly the results I'm after, but I can't ask the recipient to do that. I need it to happen automatically any time it's printed.
I've tried setting up a duplicate text layer in black and placing it under the background layer, then setting the background layer and colored text to 'never print'. This works within Acrobat Pro, but not when I print the same document from Preview.
Is there an acrobat equivalent of a CSS print stylesheet?

Create the document in layers with the background on a seperate layer than the text. Export the PDF with"Create Acrobat Layers" selected (it will need to be at least version 1.5).
Open the PDF in Acrobat, choose the background layer then Options>Properties>Initial State and under "print" choose "Never prints".

External screen garbled colors, MB screen OK

This morning we had the surprise of having garbled colors on one of our Macbooks. This one is connected through a DVI-minidvi adaptor to a Viewsonic 21" external display. The Macbook is 4 Months old and has been working perfectly with this setup until today. The internal screen works perfectly. At first the extrenal screen showed the usual image pattern but filled with pink and magenta lines.
I've replaced the dvi adaptor by a newer one: same problem.
I've connected another macbook to the supposedly faulty Viewsonic screen: the screen works perfectly.
I've connected the supposedly faulty Macbook to another viewsonic screen in our office: the same problem appears. So the screen is OK.
I've toyed with the screen settings in the system prefs and the screen has suddenly come back to something closer to normal but has now tony pixel -size red, blue and white dots that appear at random (they do not blink, they're just there. Restart doesn't change a thing. I've reconnected to the original external screen: dots still there.
When external screen is disconnected, the Macbook's internal screen works perfectly, no dots.
Could this be a software problem, a problem with the internal parts of the hardware connectors?

Because this problem occurred with two adapters, and not with another macbook, I would suggest that the mini-dvi port is suffering from a hardware problem. As your computer is four months old, I would take it in for service.

Color Profiled Screen and ACR or Lightroom (Vista)

My screen is calibrated and works with an .icc profile. I have set up the proofing colors in Photoshop to be my .icc profile. I do not attach any profiles to my pictures when I edit them in Photoshop and so they look the same in Photoshop and in non-color managed internet browsers. I also have a good correspondence between colors I see there and the printed pictures.
My problem is with how I see the colors when I open a file in Adobe Camera Raw, Bridge and Lightroom (actually in Windows Gallery too but this would be a topic for a different forum). They look very saturated, especially yellows, and very far from what I see on my camera (Canon 350d) screen, Explorer or the Canon's Raw Converter.
This problem is driving me crazy and I think I have tried everything with ACR and Bridge I could think of. Yesterday I have tried Lightroom and the colors there are absolutely the same as in ACR and Bridge. Which probably means that this is not a matter of the software version, but of something else I am missing.
Is there anyone who have had the same problem? How did you solve it? Is there anyway to set up something like proofing profile in either of those programs? Or is there any other way to fix this?

Thank you Zeno, I will try to reset them.
My problem is with how ACR shows colors though, not how it converts them.
If I open a RAW file in ACR the colors look really ugly. I convert it to JPEG without touching anything. If then I open this JPEG in Photoshop or IE the colors are fine. There are slight differences in colors if I compare them to JPEG I get from the Canon's software. But this is to be expected and can be corrected by the camera calibration.
I do not think that the way ACR displays colors can be corrected by this calibration.
