Color Vignettes Inactive?

In the Secondaries Room I've set up vignettes so I can isolate an area in my frame to tune the color. I Create the vignette, position it and then Use the Eyedropper to set a qualifying range. The result I get is my color outside the Vignette shape is altered (I test using a hue curve) while the target region inside the vignette shape is less drastically altered. I've tried setting up the secondary by reversing the order of operations with no real change in result. Control is always set to Inside.
Has anyone got an insight to what is going wrong?

It's been a couple of months since I've had to send any projects through Color. But my Color APTS book arrived today, so I'll have something to work on now.
But whenever I've used vignettes in past projects, I've only used the color wheels in that particular Secondary room. That's something I'll definitely check out for you, but probably won't happen until tomorrow evening or this weekend sometime.

Loop through the records of your database block.
Check if the item is disabled (Get_item_property).
If true than change the back ground color of the record (Set_block_property(...,CURRENT_ROW_BACKGROUND_COLOR,...))

How to add a colored vignette around the photo

I am trying to just do basic things with Photoshop. I just take pics of my kids and I want to coordinate what they are wearing with a vingette, Can I do this with Adobe? I am so new to this I am not even sure where to go.

Personally, I prefer for step #6 in the above tutorial to create a solid color fill adjustment layer instead of dumping paint using the bucket. I prefer the solid color fill adjustment layer because I can change my mind about the color and just double click to change color. I can change the feather soft effect if desired by using levels on the mask to firm up the edge or gaussian blur on the mask to soften it. You can also apply filters that work in grayscale to the mask to create edge effects. (When a mask is targeted, all filters that do not work in grayscale are grayed out.)

Changing the Preview highlight color

When you search a PDF file with Preview, you get a list of results in the drawer. Selecting a result goes to that page and highlights the search text. However, the highlight color is a dull gray and is often very difficult to locate quickly, especially on a page full of small text.
Does anyone know if this color can be changed, for example to imitate the easily visible color used by the Firefox find command? There's no obvious preference for this, but perhaps there's something hidden in the preference file?

Preview follows the system default, which sets the highlight color of inactive windows to gray and the active window to the color set in Appearance.
When you search, you can use Tab/ShiftTab to toggle focus between the drawer (containing the search instances) and the main page display pane.

Colored Tabs or Images on Tabs

I am using Forms 9i to make changes to an existing application. I prefer the Oracle look and feel, but I cannot make that drastic of a change in this application in the timeframe that I have (just in case things move on the screen slightly, etc.).
I want to color the inactive tabs, or put images there, or somehow differentiate them from the active tab. Also, the users have requested that we do something on the tabs to alert the user that they need to pay attention to it (something has gone wrong that they need to look at).
Anybody have any ideas on how I can 'flash' up the tabs using the Classic look and feel?

Thats what the 'Active Style' property is supposed to do, but it doesn't seem to work.
You could display little pop-up canvases over the tabs, but is it really worth the bother ?

Not in love w/ the new iPhone 3G & thinking of returning it. Anyone else?

Here is my narrative of the iPhone 3G 16gb White… This is focuses on the negative aspects of the phone I have experienced in 24 hours of owning it… I am debating to Return it. Wonder if anyone else has had similar issues or thoughts…
Disclaimer:
I have had a lot of phones w/ different carriers - the majority being PDA style phones. For the most part the 1st generation iPhone has been fantastic. Realistically every phone is going to have its issues/quarks and not be perfect. But Apple did a good job w/ the iPhone 1st generation (at least in my opinion) and so I am more than eager to see their “improved” version and reward them w/ my continued loyalty.
Background:
With that said… I walked into an AT&T store and willingly renewed my contract for another 2-yrs. Coming from Verizon after many years – this is quite a sacrifice (AT&T is horrible). When buying the phone from AT&T store I had to go through strict scrutiny to make the purchase (i.e. I had to prove I was the primary account holder, have a credit card, have a driver’s license with picture, and confirm my SS#). In addition, since it was backordered I had to pay in advance w/ knowledge if I were to decide now to return it (even before receiving it) that I would be subject to a 10% restocking fee. So fast forward 7 days of waiting and I finally got the call to pick up the phone…
*Negative Issues:*
1)While walking in the sun w/ the phone “off” (standby mode)… the sun really exposed the screen LCD traits… I am not sure how to explain this… but you can see the outline of the LCD which is dark, a lighter colored perimeter about .5mm thick around the screen that was lighter colored and inactive when on, and even can clearly see the 3 sensors on the top of the black border near the ear speaker… I don’t recall the 1st iPhone looking like this at all. It looks cheap as a result.
2)Going with what I said before, now I can’t get my eyes off the .5mm thick dead border of screen that is obvious around the iPhone… its distracting and not sure why Apple left it around the screen and did not hide it or put it under the real black border of the phone.
3)Going with the above again, this iPhone is slightly wider than the previous iPhone and has a bigger black border. In essence it makes the screen look smaller when compared to the previous iPhone – although I doubt it is the actual case but rather just an optical illusion.
4)They say the plastic backing made for better grip, feel, and supposed better reception. I however don’t necessarily like the feel, its slightly wider size, and the rounded edges make its feel odd/awkward. However, perhaps I am just too use to the older iPhone and it will take some time.
5)After fully charging the iPhone, I went to a friend’s house (45mins away)… went to eat (90mins)… then to see a movie – Batman (maybe 180mins)… at this point I still had never made an actual call from the iPhone yet and sent (4) texts and did some limited playing around on the web/email and etc… (Remember I had the iPhone 1st generation so I know enough to turn Bluetooth off, WiFi off, even Push off, kept fetch on every 15mins)… so anyway… the iPhone had been on standby majority of time (I even made sure to return to home screen to stop anything from running in background) and the phone was at about 30% battery life. I checked my email for 1 minute and the I got the warning that 20% battery was remaining!
6)Upon careful look at the iPhone I noticed that I had a dead pixel on the upper right of the phone - must have been there but just noticed it now (below the battery icon and to the right of the top icon).This is not unusual I guess in manufacturing and I have complete faith Apple will swap it out for a new iPhone… no big deal… just inconvenient.
7)While home I charged the iPhone again for several hours to full charge. Still have never made a phone call on it. For about 40mins I played around w/ the menus and features… played with a few applications feature (i.e. facebook, AIM, myspace)… went on the web… looked at the GPS map feature… went back to home screen then put the phone in Standby mode… Watched TV for a few hours… looked back at phone to see the batter was 50% dead? Played with phone for 10 mins with music/photo/etc features – put it back to standby mode and watched more TV for 1 hr than looked at the phone to see it at 30% battery level. I fell asleep for a few hours and woke up to see the iPhone had died.
8)One thing I must point out… that throughout my narration/events above… whenever the phone was in standby mode I noticed it was warm to touch. It was not too hot to burn and be unable to use… but noticeably warm as if it were overheating? I thought standby was supposed turn the iPhone basically off (at least a very low power consumption level).
9)Another thing I noticed – perhaps it’s just me… but the screen seems to smudge a lot more – if not easier. The other screen was not perfect but the smudging was manageable. This leads me to believe that there is something different with this screen. Perhaps a different material or so… just something doesn’t seem the same.
10)I have had to fully charge the phone 3 times in 24hours and still have yet to make a single phone call. It would seem that just simply roaming on the 3G network is killing the battery life. Many 3rd party applications also drain the battery. For whatever reason something is running in the background that Apple has designed (maybe just the nature of 3G) that keeps it running even in standby.
*Apple Customer Service told me the following:*
1)If I return the phone for any reason (even if it is defective and etc) I will have to bay 10% restocking fee.
2)The iPhone running on 3G severely limits the phones use… they state it runs 50% less than the 1st generation of iPhone… so 5hrs talk time at most and that they recommend to people to turn off 3G and keep it in Edge. Even in Edge mode –they say the 1st generation iPhone lasts longer.
3)They tell me the weather is another feature that affects the phone – if it’s a hot day than it will be less battery life???
4)They say there has been many reports of iPhone running hot – but it’s a result of the 3G and normal…
5)They say a huge majority of the iPhones 3G have dead pixels and hardware issues...
6)I can swap out the iPhone for a new one under warranty (especially for the dead pixel)… but this will probably make it impossible for me to return to AT&T since the serial numbers would be different… so I would have to live w/ the iPhone 3G at that point...
Summary:
I am starting to think the iPhone 1st generation wasn't that bad after all. Perhaps I should just wait till much later or possible software improvements before taking advantage of an upgrade... I can always repurchase it later. Overall I am very disappointed by this whole experience due to my high expectations.

I agree... I am trying not to whine... but be helpful to others if they experience the same while get input before I make the decision to return (which I am leaning towards)… It’s still a great phone – but I expected something different. I also have been coming the internet and forums to see what other people think as well to make sure I am not being oversensitive about it. $300 for a 16gb is not buyers remorse kicking in… it’s just I am not sure if I see much of a difference from my perfectly good (8month old) iPhone 1st generation…
But yes… if all iPhone 3G were problematic it would be in the news… so I err on the side that I may be a unique situation or simply did not make a well informed decision when going to 3G.
Still… the idea of turning 3G off to get a full day of use out of an iPhone… even moderate use that most of us would expect w/o charging midway or multiple times is a bit much to swallow.
I don’t want to bash and just looking for peoples reaction. I still really like Apple and the iPhone in general.

Passing Dynamic Loop Data From Child Page To Parent

Hi All,
     I'm trying to create something where when a user clicks a link on the main page, javascript opens a new window which querys a database and displays the results. The user then selects the result they want via a form button or url (doesn't matter which) from the child page, which sends a value to fill in a form field on the parent page. Sounds simple, but I can't figure out how to get the information back to the parent page from the dynamic form in the child. I get a value of Undefined in the form field on the parent page. I think its because I'm using the same name for each button with a different value, and javascript doesn't like that. I'm not really that good with JS, which I suspect is why I can't get it. I'll post my code below, and any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Tweak Javas Look and Feel

Hello everybody,
just wondering if you can help me here, I want to tweak the Look and Feel of some of the objects within a program such a menu backgrounds etc. I think that I am the right lines with this but it does not appear to do anything

But i have left in the getMenuBackground above it, I have also tried to take it out but nothing happens.
I also have a class called DEFTheme and in this I declare the following

Spry Tabbed Panels - 2 lines of tabs

I have a "Spry Tabbed Panels" widget on one of my site's
pages and it works great. Except there are now more tabs than will
fit side-by-side, so the last one gets moved to a new line, below
the first 4. That's not that big a deal, except there's now a large
blank space underneath and to the right of the top-row tabs.
Is there any way to edit the CSS or page's codes (like adding
an extra DIV surrounding the widget) so the now empty space gets a
background color matching inactive tabs?
To replicate this: create a fixed-width tabbed panels widget
and simply add more tabs than there will fit in the widget's width.
Any help on this matter would be appreciated.
Edit: I've made a slight change to the CSS file so the tabs
now have a fixed width, filling up 1/3rd of the widget's width
each. I'd like to have the empty space look better, but this'll do
for now.

First add an ID to the tab as follows or similar

Little bug in Access Connections [fixed]

Today I have reinstalled my OS (with drivers and applications) twice because of problems with WiFi application (famous Fn+F5)... but I'm too tired of this to describing it tonight
What I want to say is that I have noticed small bug (?) in Access Connections. It is not very important, but maybe developers would fix it: so, with themes turned off there are some labels near radio buttons missing (picture 2).With themes turned on everything is ok (picture 1).

OMG... It was connected to windows standard color theme - inactive text had similar color to background color so thats why there was no visible text near radio buttons :/ Sorry for my mistake.

This works oke, but when i try to display a combox, it looks really ugly (a very big arrow and no borders). The checkbox isn't even displayed. Does anyone have a clue about this?

How to install missing kaleidoscope effect

I'm trying to edit a Final Cut project created by a friend who has the same version of FCStudio that I do: 5.1.4
I copied the project and media files onto my computer, but when I try to render it I get the message:
"The following effects could not be loaded:
Kaleidoscope
Membrane
These effects will not be applied. Please install the appropriate effects and re-open the project."
I took a look at the FCP install instructions on the install disk, and there was a custom install, but it didn't appear to offer selections of effect groups, just the whole FCP or not.
The only difference between my install and that of my friend that jumps out at me is that she installed Motion and I didn't. Would FCP effects be installed with Motion?
Otherwise, how do I "install the appropriate effects?"

FCP 5.1.2-5.1.4 has access to Motion's FXPlug Plugins.

Which event is the best one to put JS for HIDING the pages?

I have developed a interactive form, the back end system is SAP and ERP system.
The form is launching on the browser, am hiding 2 & 3 pages of 4 page adobe form, working fine(if popup do not ooccurs, pls. read further), but in some exceptional scenarios, we are throwing a popup from our SAP, that popup will be take place on the middle of the screen position and above the adobe form (i mean, the adobe form is become dull in color and inactive), so, when user CLICKS the okay button on the popup, ALL OF SUDDEN the hidden 2 & 3 pages are displaying/coming out from hide state!!
I wrote the JavaScript for conditional hiding the 2 & 3 pages on docReady event of my form level, say, my form name is VISITOR, i mean, its the TOP MOST node, so, i put cursor here and selected it and wrote script in its docReady event.
Pls. let me know which is the good event to hide for all the user session, is it INITIALIAZATION or formReady or layourrEADY?

Change Sequence TC in Premiere Pro?

How do I change the starting timecode of a sequence in Premiere Pro CS6? I've got a feature film in 5 reels and I'd like each reel to start at its corresponding hour, ie: hour 1 for reel 1, hour 2 for reel 2, etc.

Now a question about your handy-dandy circle vignette trick: I'm trying to match a client's "raptor dinosaur" point of view effect. What they did was stack two layers of the same shot in an Avid timeline. Then they blurred and colored the bottom layer and then used a feathered matte to punch thru the top layer, effectively giving a blurred and colored vignette around a sharp and un-colored central area.
Your great circle vignette trick works for the color, but is there a way to add blur to the transparent layer?

Latest Firefox update removes all my add-ons/extensions

I have Win XP Pro SR-3 & Firefox 28.0. I wanted to update to the latest Firefox version by going to Help/About/Check for updates. However, the new version does 2 things that I can't change:
1. It removed the sidebar that contained all my extensions & I can't find them. Can I restore the sidebar?
2. The color of the new tabs that are not active is the same color as the strip that they're on, so their very hard to read. Can I change the color of inactive tabs...or better yet, the strip that they're on?
I also have a 3rd general question. I had a lot of trouble getting to this forum. I had to go to a question that I asked a year ago & then ask a new question. I also couldn't logon to Mozillazine & don't know the difference between that forum & this one. Could you please enlighten me & tell me what the easiest way to first search & then ask a question?
