Colored lines filling in highlights

Hello All;
I'm using Photoshop CS3 with Camera Raw 4.6 with G4 Mac version 10.4.11
Processing images through CR 4.6,   I get colored horizontal lines (usually blue) filling any bright highlights. (ex. windows in background)   For the life of me I can't find a way to eliminate them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Don

John;
Hope this comes through OK.
There is a bank of semi opaque windows behind the little girl on the
horse.  As you can see the windows are filled in with these colored
lines.  Don't know why??  The windows should be just white.
Thanks
Don

  • Colored lines in the highlights

    Hello All,
As you can see I am getting these lines in the white highlights.  Have no idea way.
    Photoshop CS3,  Camera Raw 4.6,  Mac G4,  OS 10.4.11
Will get same result from Nikon D70 and Nikon D90.
Used PS Elements several years ago without this issue.
    Thanks

It shows exactly what you have shown, ACR 4.6.  Exactly how many profiles are suppose to show up in that drop done menu?
As evidenced by the above, "supposed to show up" is a difficult thing to nail down.  They can be downloaded and later versions of Photoshop bring more of them, which then show up in older versions.
My CS3 with ACR 4.6 shows this:
I take it from your question that you are not seeing any other profiles in there.  I did download beta profiles at one time (evidenced by the "beta" nomenclature), but ACR 4.6 came with Photoshop. I'm thinking that on all our systems where it works okay an earlier, faulty profile may have been overwritten with a new, improved copy of the same name by a later version of Photoshop, however, as all these profile files go in the same place.
Something to try:  Find copies (possibly on the Adobe Labs site) of newer Camera Raw profiles for your particular cameras and copy the files into /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles/Camera on your Mac.
A link that may help:  http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/DNG_Profiles:FAQ#WhereInstall
I don't know if it's legal to provide copies of these files, but if so I would gladly send them to you.

  • Diagonal line fill in table

I have just opened a calendar template I made last year. I put in diagonal line fills for some of the cells. I cant remember or find how to return the cell to being empty.
    Any ideas anyone??
    Many thanks

Select the cell. Go to the Diagonal Line option in the cells dialog. Select a line width of 0 pt, a line color of [None], or a line style of [None]. Or simply select the "No diagonal" button in the top row :-)

This started happening randomly, and I am honestly not sure why it is occurring. My computer randomly enters this state where the screen is filled up with colored lines, and all I can do is turn it off and restart it. It only takes like 20 minutes after being turned on again to re-enter this state, however sometimes it won't enter it for a while. (Hence me being able to post this)

Interestingly enough, the first dozen times it happened the screen was mostly back with evenly balanced colored lines. Just recently, earlier today, the screen took on a bluish tint as it displayed the lines, and even more recently a greenish tint (as seen in the pictures).

Actually, in Windows (XP) the highlight color (in DW8) is a
    byproduct of the
color scheme you set for your desktop.

  • Is anyone having issues with colored lines streaking through image of camera on ipad air?E

Today when using the camera on ipad air the screen became filled with red green and blue streaking lines. When a photo and video was taken the lines were part of the recorded images. The problem is not evident if the cameras are switched and the camera on top is used. The ipad is only a week old having been given for Christmas. I have tried turning the device off as well as resetting it but no luck.

    Hi Eshylie,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you see colored lines on pictures taken with the rear camera, and resetting the device didn't resolve it, I recommend backing up and restoring the iPad Air next:

  • My Mac Book Pro suddenly gets stuck with weird horizontal colored lines across the screen, which will only go once I restart the laptop. What can I do?

Randomly while scrolling, the screen just goes beserk and gets stuck with random colored lines. And, the only way to get rid of this is to restart my entire computer. My laptop is about 3 years old now. Is this a sign of age or what? What can I do to run my laptop smoothly without turning it off and on every time it goes crazy?

    Try resetting PRAM and SMC.

  • I have very thin, colored lines running vertical on my desktop monitor screen.  I don't know where they come from or how to get rid of them.  I started with one and now have three.  Can anyone give me some insight about what to do in getting rid of them?

I have very thin, colored lines that have shown up on my IMac monitor screen.  I don't know where they came from or how to get rid of them.  I'm concerned now because I started with one and now have three.  Does any know why this occurs or how to get rid of them?

I got an address from Applecare, although I can't place my hand on it right now. I didn't bother persuing the letter route myself as I didn't expect much. I know that the location was Cork, Ireland though as that where the UK Applecare is based as far as I'm aware. The best thing to do is to call Applecare (if it's free) and discuss the issue. State that you are not happy wit the fact that you will have to pay to have the problem resolved especiiay if it is an ongoing problem that has not been resolved. I ended up speaking to a senior manager of the Applecare team who then proceeded to tell me about mailing in my grievence to customer services division or something like that.
If I can find the address I may post it if I'm allowed.
In the case of age, Schools usually have a 5-year life-cycle as they tend to be used differently than consumer machines, i.e. being used constantly on a daily basis for at least 12 hours with no break. you would expect issues to appear after a few years, but I expect problems that arise through defects to be resolved and stay resolved. As I mentioned we had machines for around 2 years before the lines appeared and sent them to be repaired. I'm happy with that. What I am unhappy about is the fact that the problem has reappeared exactly in the same way and now I'm left with around 7 machines that I either pay loads to repair or, the more likely replace the machines with newer ones since the age is now big enough to warrant the replacement.
Sorry for the lengthy moan, but these are the reasons I purchased Apple ahrdware in the first place to avoid the "not our problem" stance some PC vendors  usually take, similar to the Dell monitors thread mentioned in here somewhere.

  • My iPod Touch (5th generation) is not responding to my touch. There are also several colored lines in the background of my screen. Virus?

Since my iPod isn't responding to my touch, I can't switch it off or restart it as I normally would. I've tried doing the hold-down-the-sleep-button-and-the-home-button-for-ten-seconds thing but when the Apple logo appears, it's either completely pink in color or there are these vertical colored lines in the background. When the lock screen reappears, sometimes it looks completely normal (but it still doesn't respond), or everything's blurred, or there are these weird colours in the background, or those lines I mentioned before, but most of the times, it's completely dark and I can onlu see this moving flash at the bottom of the screen (indicating the presence of the slide to unlock thing).
My computer was recently reformatted because it had had a virus, so I'm worried my iPod has gotten the virus too. I have some data on there that I really can't lose. (I haven't backed up this data because my computer had been on the fritz for the past two weeks).
Is taking it to an Apple Help Centre the only cure? (I purchased the item in March 2013; Is there any chance I can get it replaced for free?) I tried moving the photos from the device to my PC but it says there are no photos in my device. (I've moved my photos before when I'd forgotten my password and was about to reset it.)
I would really like some advice ASAP because if it is a virus, the longer I keep it untouched, the more havoc it causes. i fear.

I do not think talking to Apple will do more than the following:
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Grab is not working. It's taking pictures fine, but the pictures are colored lines.

I have used Grab in the past just fine. It takes nice, big pictures of anything on my screen. Yesterday, I used grab like I normally would, and it took a picture that was the same size as what I had selected, but the picture wasn't there. It was just a bunch of black and colored thin horizontal lines. It does this for all the features...capture, selection, window, timed screen, etc. They all are full of colored lines!!! How can I fix this? I use grab a lot, so I would like to fix it ASAP!
    Thanks!

Grab (or something like it) can be a very useful utility, but I'd suggest downloading the free SnapnDrag http://www.yellowmug.com/snapndrag/, which is easier to use and has equal or better functionality. I haven't had experience with Grab - but SnapnDrag will solve your issue with a download. It's a solid application that's been around for years.

  • White with vertical colored lines on Equium A60

    Hi
I am new to this but really need your help. My laptop is about 18 months old and has always worked fine. Last week I plugged a broadband modem into it through an Ethernet cable and set up broadband. A couple of minutes after doing this when I looked at the screen again, it had gone all white with vertical colored lines down it. I have rebooted the machine etc and that is all I ever get now. As soon as I switch on, it just goes straight to white with these vertical colored lines.
I have tried connecting an external monitor to it and that works fine. The laptop is a Toshiba Equium A60. I am worried that the screen has blown, is it possible for a surge or something like that to come down the Ethernet cable and blow the screen?
    Thanks
    Adrian

Display functionality has nothing to do with Ethernet cable. Test with external monitor is very good and on this way you can see if maybe graphic card is responsible for that.
According to your description I believe that display is the problem. Of course, just intensive display test can give more answers.

  • 17" Studio Monitor Display with single, vertical color line

My 17" Studio Monitor just recently developed a single, vertical color line in the display. No matter what I am viewing the color line is there. Re-boot doesn't remove it. Neither does un-plugging the computer.
Anyone know the cause and/or remedy?
    Thanks for any help!

There is an adapter called a DVIator that you will need ..or something similar. It will turn turn the ADC connection into a DVI connection ..then you would need something to turn regular DVI into the Mini DVI connection to fit into the iMac.
Personally, I don't think it would be worth the cost ..the DVIator alone is like $100. I'd just buy a new screen for that price. Preferably one that was a little closer to the same brightness of the 24" iMac's screen. I had my old Studio display next to my new 24" iMac and it looked so old and dingy I wouldn't be able to stand the difference using it as a second monitor.
