Coloring a Pattern

Hi,
I just used a Basic Graphic_Dots pattern in a piece I'm working on. I can't for the life of me figure out how to color the polka dots? I would really like the dots to NOT be black.

Drag the swatch from the palette to the artboard. You should get a copy of the pattern enclosed by a box. With the Direct Select tool (open arrow) select all the instances of the dot and change the color to what you want. With the Select tool (black arrow) drag the still grouped pattern back to the swatch palette. If you want to replace the existing swatch, Option drag the pattern onto the old swatch.

MacBook 2010 occasionally got color-grain-pattern display

since I update to Lion in July, I occasionally experiencing color-grain-pattern (usually yellow), it happen when MacBook is on dual-display mode with my 1920x1080 external display (BenQ VW2420H). it could happen on every application (but I mostly seen on Google Chrome)
the phenomenon will disappear after I scroll the page or got something overlay that area (like move cursor on it).
but the most weird is I can capture it with cmd+shift+3 (cmd+shift+4 will overlay it and make it disappear) so is that mean it shouldn't be a hardware problem??
has anyone got an idea? or experienced this?

Printing pdfs from FreeHand 8 w/color fill patterns

When I export a freehand drawing with colored fill patterns to pdf using export or distiller, it looks correct in Acrobat 8 professional and reader, but it doesn't print the fill patterns in color. They come out black & white. I don't want to use a PS printer since most of the people I send the pdfs to don't have postscript. This didn't happen with earlier versions of Acrobat. Any ideas to fix this problem?

This is best asked in the Freehand forum (if you want help with your
export) or the Acrobat forum. This forum is for problems with using
Reader, not in creating pdf files. When you repost, describe your
workflow explicitly together with settings for pdf export or print
settings and Distiller settings. Posting a sample pdf and freehand file
to illustrate the problem would help as well.

I know Photos can recognize faces, but can it search for photos that include certain colors or patterns? If not, are there apps out there that do this?

Photos certainly can't. Not sure about the second half of your question but I would consult the oracle that is google.

Basic requirement for color histogram & pattern matching.

I will do a student project about video & image(stored in PC) analysis using color histogram & pattern matching. I have LabVIEW6i only. What's the basic requirement for this analysis? vision module? Please suggest a simple and cheap requirement. Thanks all.

It really depends what is the purpose of your student project. Is it about developing those routines yourself or is it about using ready made routines to research the possibilities and differences on different kind of pictures.
In the first case you already have everything necessary as you can perfectly well develop those routines in normal LabVIEW. Otherwise you would want to look into the IMAQ Vision Toolkit from National Instruments or the IVision Toolkit from Hytek Automation http://www.hytekautomation.com/Products/IVision.html. You can download the IVision Toolkit free for evaluation it just will regularly show a nag screen to remember you that this is not a licensed version.

Alter color of pattern swatch w/o editing

I'm trying to alter the color of a pattern without actually editing it - similar to layer masking in PhotoShop.
For instance, in the example below, I want to ultimately change the color of (the visible parts of) the pattern (middle layer) to shades of yellow (top layer), but still be able to see the green underneath. I don't want to manually change the pattern swatch because I don't know which swatch I want to use yet. I assume the answer is something relating to masking, and adjusting the blending mode. I just haven't figured out the specific way in which to do it. Can anyone help?

Please tell how to check whether overprint is applied to an object inside a Pattern Swatch(I dont want to Expand the object)

The reference to port 427 is in any firewall on the computer. Network communication is done over these ports and the job of the firewall is to monitor and block these ports.

Background Color and Pattern Style for SSRS textbox in Tablix/Matrix

HI,
I have a requirement where I need to highlight the textbox background by dotted pattern style along with the relevant color. It is straight forward in Excel (by choosing Format Cells -> Fill -> background color/Pattern Style etc.), however SSRS
seems to provide color only without the pattern style. I tried to work around this by putting in a chart (data bar), which then allows to select the Pattern Style along with color, but the resulting text value is not crisp at all, value needs to
be displayed as data bar label and also once exported to Excel the Cell value only comes out as image instead of actual value.
Need to achieve the same with SSRS. If anybody has done similar, thanks in advance.

According to your description, you want to set pattern style with color for your textbox in your report. You want to achieve the same effect in SSRS as the same thing you did in Excel. Right?
In Reporting service, we can only fill the textbox with colors or background image. So for your requirement, we try this workaround: Set pattern with colors for a cell in an Excel file. Cut the cell as image. Import this image into SSRS and set it as background
image for textbox.

Changing the color of patterns?

I tried googling tutorials but I can't seem to find any. I found this one: (Which is basically what I'm trying to do)

However, the background color of the pattern does change but the actual lines do not. Is there anyway I can change the color of the lines?

One may be able to change the color of a Pattern Layer with a simple Color Overlay (set to the appropriate Blend Mode if necessary) with »Blend Interiot Effects as Group« checked … don’t know if this is any help to you.

So i dont know if its just me, But my ( About a month old) I phone 5, keeps Shutting itself down, Then The sceen goes different colors and patterns and shuts off. Its been repeating this for many days and nothing i do seems to work!!! Help!!!!!

Ive charged it, Held the top and bottom buttons, ( It turns on but right back off) and basically anything else i could think of!! i even tryed to restore it. ( No luck) But especially what i think is odd, is when it turns off, it turns a bunch of random colors and designes. Im scared i might have to get rid of it!!! PLEASE HELP!!!

Can gradient start color be pattern swatch?

using CS3 on XP; Help indicates it's possible to begin a gradient via a pattern swatch (self-created) but I get the "not writable" icon. thanks for any suggestions

Read up on Opacity Masks. Draw an area filled with your pattern swatch, then put an opacity mask over the top of it...

My Imac desktop screen suddenly started to change colors and pattern appeared

My Imac desktop screen started to "flip out", things were moving around and strange patterns filled everything on the screen. After a minute it stopped. Is this a warning sign of a hard drive meltdown?

Funky Colors and Patterns Across Screan (Bad Graphics Card?)

Specs:
2010 Macbook Pro 15" with bootcamp (now uninstalled after reset to factory defaults)
OS X Maverick
4gig ram
500gig hard drive
2.4ghz Intel core i5
The above image shows the problem I am having. It freezes the computer as well. It has been happening for 2 years give or take (was given the computer in 2010 by my school with apple care extending 6 months after graduation which has since expired). At first it was happening only when it got really hot (located at the very top of the keyboard where it meets the screen) while playing video games and not often so I just dealt with it for a while by downloading fan controls so I could keep the fans running at maximum. Now however, it happens whether the computer is hot or not (sometimes right when I turn it on or sometimes after 10 to 15 minutes of use) so I dont think it is a heat issue, I think heat just enables an underlying problem. I had bootcamp on there and while in windows the same thing would happen but the screen would occasionally go black and it would recover with a notification from NVidia telling me that the graphics card has crashed and recovered. What I have tried so far (mostly to make sure its not a software issue).
Removing the bottom and cleaning out dust that may clog the fans for better cooling.
Scanning for antiviruses (just to make sure).
Running any mac or windows software cleaners by using Onyx or AVG's system repairs.
Resetting the computer to factory defaults (OSX Maverick) after removing bootamp and erasing the hard drive.
None of this has worked (although keeping the computer cool used to work)
I'm on here because I am wondering what hardware might be faulty and if there is a cheaper way to fix this that does not involve spending a great deal of money having apple fix it for me. Seeing as it is coming up on its 5th year, I am not looking to put too much money into it (no more than 150$). I am just looking to keep it running as long as possible, I cannot afford a new laptop right now. Not a problem if it involves taking it apart and attempting to replace parts if they can be found at a low cost.

Default Color/pattern Palettes in CS 3

In CS 2 and previous version, you could replace the default RBG or CYMK palettes to get a customized color and pattern pallet that comes up each time a new document is opened... I can't find those default files in CS 3? Have they moved or is there another way to accomplish the same thing in the newer version?
