When exporting my edited pictures to a folder in m Pictures it goes as a blank soft color but no photo. It looks like a tiny dot and when you open it, it is a soft color.. Please help!

I am trying to send as attachement. I have tried to screen shot but must not have a clue how to!  Is there a number someone can walk me through this.. or if you could tell me how to screen shot it. I am trying the print screen but not working. I have never done on  a computer before. My system is Dell Pentium Dual Core [email protected]   4.00GB  64 Bit Windows Vista. I tried to download a trial of LR4 so I could get some work done until prob fixed but it tells me my system not compatible. I am thinking of creative cloud but will this work with my system. I use LR for 100% of my editing but have been doing other things (newborns) where I feel I need CS6. If you could let me know what I need to do to run the new LR and CS6 that would be great. (Really need a computer class)! Thanks

  • Color correcting photos, this isn't making sense.

I have tried endlessly with color correcting photos. What am I looking for when I'm placing my color sample? For example, I open up a photo. I look around, choose a grey area, at 3x3 or 5x5 average sample. I shift click my eyedropper there. I open up curves, choose the red channel, make the output values the same as green. I do the same with blue, yet my photo does NOT look color corrected. If I open up a photo with too much green or blue, how are people restoring them to regular color? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

In the Curves dialog or panel, click on each of the white, gray, and black eyedroppers (to the right is the PS4 panel version), one at a time, and after clicking on an eyedropper, click on an appropriate white, gray, or black point in the image.  Then you can modify the curves as needed.

    Hi kshieh
You can try two possible steps:-
1]Triple click the home button.  You should get an accessibility menu.deselect the negative/black and white option.
2]Go to settings->General->accessibility->and deselect invert colours.
    That should fix it

  • IPhoto oversaturates colors in photos from Photoshop CS2. Why?

I use Canon DSLRs, camera raw format, and PS CS2 for processing, using Adobe RBG all the way through. I regularly color calibrate my display, use PS for color management and get good prints. I intended to use iPhoto (6.0.6) to create my slide shows, but when I import pictures preprocessed in PS they are distorted, i.e. colors are heavily oversaturated etc. This becomes very clear when the same picture file is shown side by side on the same display using PS and iPhoto respectivly. Can anybody give me some guidance here, or will I have to aquire a better software product to run my slide shows? Gratefull for any comments.
    powerpc g4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

That should only have an effect if the photos aren't tagged with an Adobe RGB ICC profile already (shouldn't it?). If they are already tagged that option should have no effect. If they aren't already tagged then adding the Camera RGB profile will lead to it interpreting Adobe RGB data as Camera RGB - which will certainly lead to colour problems (although my first guess is that the effect would lead to less apparent saturation rather than more).
But, if that is the case, the solution is to make sure the photos are properly tagged rather than unchecking the 'Add ColorSync Profile' option. Isn't it?
So, torber, are your photos tagged with an Adobe RGB profile prior to importing into iPhoto?

  • Blue color when photos brought in catalog

I am using PSE 6 - shot a series of daylight photos in Raw.  (Have a Canon G9 - Lexar Prof. SDHC card).  The colors look fine in the camera and also when displayed in the Photo Downloader.  However, when they were brought into the catalog about 10 of 45 came out extremely blue.  They are showing up at a temperature of 2850 while the correct ones (often a virtually identical shot) are 7500.  None of the camera settings were changed - all were shot in P mode and raw.  I deleted them from the catalog/hard drive and downloaded again - same thing.  Does anyone know what might have caused this?  I just took another 8 photos (again outside in daylight) and they are OK.  Am heading overseas soon and  I am concerned that something may be wrong with the camera.  Thanks for any suggestions.

The only thing I'm missing here is why the color temperature measurements are "backwards".
Light with a color temperature of 2850 Deg K is much, much "warmer", (read way redder), than light with a color temperature of 7500 Deg K, which is quite blue. Noon daylight is considered to be 5500 Deg K. A clear blue northern sky has a color temp of in excess of 10,000 Deg Kelvin.
The old tungsten photoflood bulbs had a color temp of 3200 deg K, and if they were used with daylight balanced film, the results would be extremely RED.
The reverse is true with using tungsten balanced film in daylight, pictures would come out almost totally blue.
The film's color balance was a constant, not so with the auto white balance of a modern digital camera. or (?)
So, if the white balance of the  >>camera<< was 2850 Deg K when the photos were taken in daylight, then that would explain the blue color...! Or that;s at least one plausible explanation.

  • How to change Background colors in photos

    Hi all,
I could use some help with changing background color of attached example.  I want to be able to change background of this photo and have a few examples of it with blue, red and green background color.
    any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,

With the selection still active apply a Solid Color adjustment layer in a new colour.
Adjust the opacity and blending mode to suit.
Do a Save as...    using a different file name and repeat with different colours.

  • Photos will not print in color on photo paper

I was out of two colors, put new ones in, cleaned and aligned the cartridges but when I put in photo paper, they only print in black.  If I copy and paste them to regular paper, it prints in color.

    Hello SSBA,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're unable to print color when using photo paper. I will do my best to assist you! First, I need to ask you some questions to clarify this issue:
    1. First, I need to find out your operating system on your computer? Windows or Mac?
    2. What type of printer do you have? Click here to find out: Model Number.
    3. What type of photo paper are you using?
    4. What program are you using on your computer?
Please verify this information and I will assist you further. Have a great night!

  • IPhoto is totally messing up the color of photos!

    the issue:
    - I import from my camera to iPhoto
    - drag photo to the desktop
    - open and edit photo in Photoshop (and save it)
    - drag the new version into iPhoto
While in Photoshop it looks fine and it also looks fine when I upload it to the web, but when I add it to iPhoto the color is all crazy... specifically the reds are exploding out of control!
    Any fix for this?

    Joseph,
Colors on computer is a NASTY complicated subject. Please don't balk at people for not wanting tread. That said: There are 3 preferences that are affecting the colors you see on screen (and in print outs). (iPhoto, Photoshop, System Prefs)
    1. First check your settings within iPhoto
    Go to Preferences> Advanced
you will probably see the checkbox enabled for 'Add ColorSync profile'
(i assume this embeds whatever profile is chosen within System Preferences>Displays>Color)
You probably want to leave this as is if you've been satisfied with your screen appearance and printouts.
    NEXT the Nasty part:
Launch photoshop: You need to mess with "Color Settings" within Photoshop to avoid this color conversion.
(the command is under Photoshop>Color Settings...)
ASSUMING here your camera or iPhoto has already embedded a color profile…
    Within Photoshop>Color Settings:
Under Color Management Policies be sure it's set to
    'Preserve Embedded Profiles'
You may also wish check all the boxes that say "Ask when opening" this will alert you to missing or different profiles.
    ASIDE:
By default all Adobe programs are set to mess with color (TRULY annoying)AND very hard to correct. Even opening the same image in Adobe programs color is inconsistent - at least as of CS 1.
So, Unfortunately, you may need to test a few times, with different settings to see which works best.
Try now opening/resaving a COPY of one of your iPhoto images. View it in iPhoto. If this works, your good to go.
If that doesn't do the trick:
You may also want to enable the Advanced Mode and change the engine to "Apple Color Sync" and intent to "Perceptual"
ALTERNATELY: you can choose the "Color Management Off" profile from the the Settings pop-up. (unfortunately despite the title, Pshop still won't really leave color alone)
    SIDEBAR:
You should try all this copies of your originals (Duplicate first within iPhoto)
until you find a setting within Pshop that works.
The bad news, I've never found a way to set things so that it doesn't mess with color at all. Maybe someone else here can pipe in.
Good luck, if you have any joy, you should repost here to tell us what worked for you.

  • How to color correct photos for iPhone 5C

Hello! I am doing my high school physics project. I took pictures of LED lights and I need to find the wavelength of the emitted colors. My teacher said that photos taken by cameras have slightly different colors than the actual color. How would I manage this source of error? I need the color to be as accurate as possible.

  • Border Color of Photos in Photo Book

Example - Creating Photo Book using the Crayon Theme there are two options for displaying photos. A Photo Edge Border and a "drawn crayon" style Border.
At different points in the book using a 2-photo layout on a page it generates pink as a border for the first set of 2 photos. But then on a 2nd page further along in the book using another 2 photos elsewhere on a page it draws the borders as green. And a 3rd page makes them yellow.
Is there any way to control this ? Have the color I want appear where I want it ?
Beacuse I have also implemented a color scheme from one page to the next using the Background Color Option and the "pink" crayon border happens to coincide with the "pink" background.
I don't really want to have to change the background scheme and the photos are layed out chronologically for a travel excursion.
Is this something I should take up with Apple as an implementation in an update ?
    Thanks.

In the Layout menu for two photos per page try selecting one of the top two options. That seemed to give me pink borders every time I selected it.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Colorizing antique photos

I like to do very gentle, subtle translucent colorizing of my antique portraits, dodging, burning and using a soft brush with 5-10% saturation.   Sometimes I have a problem when I can't completely eliminate shadows or artifacts on a face - the color magnifies the unevenness of the image.  But if I work harder to dodge the face before applying color, I can lose character.
How can I reach a happy medium where I add enough color to tweak the viewer's imagination but not enough to look "painted?"  And overcome the shadows without removing contour and character?
Left: Happens to be a Photo of a portrait, so not a lot of detail, which is why it's a good example of a basic challenge.  it was rolled up and has bubbles and bumps but is typical of problems I find in photographs.
Center; My next step would have been to desaturate,  but I stopped work when I couldn't get natural even skintone. If I brighten it the shadows disappear but the face looks unnatural.
Right:  This is an image that had fewer problems, and represents the degree of colorizing I'm aiming for.

You've hit the nail on the head -- there needs to be some detail and shadows defining the face before beginning to colourize it, otherwise the result will look too phony.
All you can do is to retouch in B&W until it looks great as a B&W image, then add the colour.

  • Adding color to photo border

In the print package (and now custom PP with LR3b), I'd like to have the ability to give the color I want to the photo border (as I can do for the Inner stroke).
By the way, I'd loke to have also the photo border in the "single image" too.

    That's the easiest.
    Open your full colour image.
Choose the Smart Brush tool I showed in my previous post.
On the Options bar for the tool,
    hit the dropdown arrow (1).
Hit the effects dropdown box and choose "Black and White" (2).
    Select "Grayscale" (3).
Set your brush to a small size.
Paint over the areas you want to be in Black & White.  The brush automatically selects entire areas as you paint.
If it goes too far, set the brush to "minus"
and paint over the excess area to return it to the original colour.
The automatic selection kind of "learns" what you want, so by going back and forth between "plus" and "minus", you'll ultimately get what you want.
