I would like to know how I can use the ICC profile of the photolab where I will print my photo's.
I have downloaded the profile, but I can't change it in Photoshop Elements (11)
Could somebody help me with this issue?

I'm having serious problems in printing my photo's from Lightroom.
I calibrated my screen, I changed the profile in colormanagement, but without succes. The prints do not match the view I have on my screen.
The prints look awfull.
Can somebody help me.
These are the programs and printer I'm using:
Windows Vista 64
Lightroom 2
camera: Nikon D700
printer: canon Pro 9500 Mark II
calibration: spider 3 pro

I had to turn of the colormanagement in the printers dialog box.
I did so and now it looks much better, even great.

Colormanagment between Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 5, Adobe RGB

In Photoshop CS5 are the Colours, Brightness diffrent to Lightroom 5 as you can see in this picture:

My settings in the colormanagment in PS is Adobe RGB and Europa pre-press 3. But even when i switch to other options the picture isn't changing. I guess there is the Problem, it seems that it don't react on my adjustments:

And to directly answer your question, you don’t inform Adobe, you merely deactivate PS, reimage, then reinstall and reactivate PS with the serial number(s), and relicense LR with the serial number(s).
If this computer isn’t yours and you don’t have the serial numbers, yourself, then that could be a problem, although there may be software that can find the serial numbers. On a PC platform, download and run the Belarc Security Advisor and see if it finds the serial numbers you need. It’ll only find the current product serial numbers, not the prior versions that an upgrade might be based on, so then you’ll be stuck.

ColorManagement appeared on my desktop

Hi guys,
today a folder named 'MacOS' appeared on my desktop.
It contains a binary 'ColorManagement'.
I saw that when I was pasting an item from a nfs folder.
I'm not too sure I've hit 'cmd+c' correctly, so I think that
I've pasted some kind of old entry.
I think it would be safe to remove that folder but it's
better to ask advise ;P

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
That's a Finder feature that you can turn on or off. If you don't want that your hard drive appears on the desktop, open the Finder menu (on the menu bar) > Preferences > General, and unmark "Hard drives", so your hard drive will disappear.
You don't have to worry about that because it's not more vulnerable, but if you don't want it there, you can delete it from your desktop with my steps above

Colormanagment Officejet Pro 8600 Plus

I am a amature Photographer and for me it's important that the colors of my prints are accurate.
I recently bought a colormunki Photo to set up my monitor and printer.
I'm using a Imac with OSX 10.9.
The problem is that i can't find the colormanagement of my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.
The prints are far to dark. I'm supposed to change the colormanagment option from automatic to off, but i can't find this setting.
I'm running the latest driver for the printer and i'm using Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CS6.
What am i doing wrong, or ... can't I change te colormanagement of this printer ?

Loose Colormanagement for first print after switching the printerdriver

I do have a postscript laserprinter from Konica Minolta and two Epson Stylus Pro 9800 inkjet printers without postscript (they have their own printer drivers), all connects over ethernet.
My trouble is, every time I switch the driver / printer, the first printjob printed without colormanagement. The prints are to light and with only little yellow. At second printjob all is fine.
On the Epson printers it is very expensive, if I had to trash the first print, because I print on them only canvas, photo- and fineart-papers.
Has onyone the same trouble?

It does seem like strange behavior but thanks for sharing the work around.

Safari Colormanagement on Vista

I downloaded Safari because one have told me that this browser is color managed but I recogniced that the colors are exactely as wrong as they are with IE.
It seems that Safari use my monitor profil (as IE) instead of SRGB.
I`m using a wide gamut monitor thats why this is very disturbing.
Can anybody tell me were I can find the settings in Safari for colormanagement if there are settings or what I make wrong. PS and other color managed applications show the colors correct.

PrintSetting, ColorManagement, PrintOption, ExtensionSetting, are blocked

PrintSetting, ColorManagement, PrintOption, ExtensionSetting, are blocked in Aperture. I noticed in Word i can use these settings for the paper i am useing and Aperture will not hold these settings. I have an Epson R1800 and have downloaded the latest drivers and the latest updates for Aperture on my 2006 Macbook with intel duocore. I believe the problem is in Aperture and not Epson. The newest driver from Epson is for the duocore so this should work. I am not sure why these settings are not blocked in some programs and are blocked in other programs like aperture? Any ideas out there?

Colormanagement Photoshop CS4 Macintosh

All my printerprofiles I used with photoshop cs3 are ignored by photoshop cs4. It looks like printing with colormanagement off.
EPSONPrinters, PPC G5, OSX 10.5.6, 8 GB RAM

I don't use LR but searched the LR forum and found some discussion dating back to last November, but the only workaround suggested was for Advanced Black and White. I couldn't find any wordaround for printing color images from Leopard and CS4.
When I print the same profile targets from CS3 and CS4, there is up to a 20.72 Delta E difference between the two targets.
I did read that Eric Chan claims to have had no problems printing profile targets from CS4 and Leopard. I'm not sure if he ever bothered to compare them to CS3 and Leopard.
Here in the PS forum the blame seems to be put on Epson, but in the LR forum, it appears to be Apple's fault.
Whoever's at fault doesn't matter at this point, as printing from CS4 is just not working from a color managed standpoint. I'll just print from CS3 for the time being.

Colormanagement in Movies?

I am a Newbie to video and have some questions how you make all those high quality crisp films.
I do work most times with photographs in Aperture which do has a colormanaged workflow at all. Even iPhoto does export and import photos in a colormanaged way.
Now, I made a simple ken burns slideshow within Final Cut and found, that not all export settings give the same quality. As I used photographs, all of them are good saturated, but after export from Final Cut to a movie, in some cases the photos in movie do have less saturation.
Is this a bug in Final Cut or in Quicktime which is used for exporting or isn't it a bug overall? I didn't recognized in which cases the colors are saturated as the source or desaturated after export to a movie.

InDesign CS5 server and colormanagement

Hi All
I have a problem with the server it dosen´t take the colomanagent setup that i want.
We are using the InDesign server to make magazin pages where we have two InDesign dokuments one we use as a template and one we just use the boxes with scriptlabel to fill them with text and images. From these two dokument the servercopy the one dokument and uses the boxes from the other to make one InDesign dokument.
I use colormanagement with a CMYK profile and Colormanagent Policies with CMYK: Preserve Numbers ( IgnoreLinked Profiles) in both templates.
If I make pages from the server the new dokument get wrong colormanagement it gets Colormanagement policies None.
If i do the same operation with a "normal" InDesign i get it right.
Any solutions anyone ?

Colormanagement in Finder and Preview

I received today a TIFF file frm a customer which was separated to CMYK with a ICC profile embedded. I took a look to it in finder with quicklook shortcut and was wondering because that image looked a bit loss od contrast, no real blacks in there. As I opend the file in Photoshop CS 2, the contrast came back.
I opend that file in Preview and Color Utilities and in all states the images didn't look as it should. It seems, that colormanagement doesn't work correct as it should. I gave it another try and made a softproof in Preview, but either profile I selected, the images didn't change.
Anyone has this too or may I have some trouble with my OS system?

Hmm, I had before the update a own calibrated profile made with xrite dtp94 and basiccolor software. But that won't really work because of the old gamma 1.8 of Mac OS before snow leopard. So switched to the cinema hd profile that came with 10.6 which should indeed use the correct gamma of 2.2. But I see some delay when I select another profile for monitor and sometimes it doesn't change at all.

Printer options disabled (PrintSetting,ColorManagement,PrintOption,ExtSett)

Printing from a shared printer disables many options described above.
If this a bug ? did anyone met the same problem ?

I have the same issue. Canon mp530 works great from mac mini with all options. The moment I share it and another mac connected to that shared printer, both host and client macs have many options with strikethru (like my favorite... duplex).
Any more details on why this is? If this really is a "feature" of shared printers, will Leopard change this? And should I expect to have the same issues if the printer were shared from an Airport Extreme (new version)?
