Colors are wrong

I just got the new Mac Mini, and hooking it up to either my TV with a DVI-HDMI adapter, or my samsung 220 monitor, the colors are ok, but specifically the blues look purple. I have tried all the profiles in the color system preference to no avail. I have also calibrated in the color system preference, and adjusted all the monitor settings, but cannot get the color temperature right.

You can take a bitmap capture and see what the pixel values are.

My iPad 2 colors are wrong. Has anyone had this problem?

Could you provide some more details please.  Where are the colors wrong?  i.e. What application?
As a first pass to fix you could try a reset.  Press and hold the Home and On/Off buttons simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  This may take up to around 10 seconds and is the equivalent of a PC re-boot.  You will not lose any data.

  • HP Photosmart 7200 Colors are Wrong When Printing on Photo Paper

I'm running Windows 7 and am having a problem when printing on photo paper.  The colors are off; mainly green.  The colors are fine when printing on plain paper.  I have tried printing from my computer as well as straight from the media card.  Same result.  I am also using HP Photo Premium glossy paper.  Print cartridges are brand new and are loaded correctly.
Any solutions or troubleshooting tips I can try?

    Hi @Vay725,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that the colors are wrong when printing on photo paper! I am happy to help you with this print quality issue!
For further assistance, I will need to know some more information:
The Product/Model Number of your printer. Follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number.
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, or USB.
If the printer is able to make copies.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
If you are using Genuine HP Ink cartridges.

Anybody has an idea of what could be wrong and how I can correct it?
    Thanks
    Jakob

Hello NikDk, and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you're having print quality issues.  I would like to help with that!
First thing I would suggest, would be a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
Second, I would recommend utilizing this document on Fixing Ink Streaks, Faded Prints, and Other Common Print Quality Problems.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • My screen is messed up.  All the colors are wrong.  Blue is yellow, red is teal, and so on.  No clue what happened or how to fix it.  All my apps are this way and the wallpaper picture is totally messed up.

My grandson was playing around with my mouse and changed the display on everything.  Things that are usually blue are now gold, red is now teal, etc.  I can't figure out what he did or how to correct it.  I went to system preferneces but nothing is seeming to work.  Any clue what to do?

    See if this helps...

    Basically... try the following...
Press the Control-Option-Command-8 key combination. This is actually a feature of Universal Access that you can toggle.

  • Using logmein to print but colors are wrong

Just purchased a Colorjet CP 2025 and it seems that when I'm using logmein.com and printing, it's not printing out the correct colors. Any help would be appreciated.

    Problem solved by using:
    pf = job.pageDialog(pf);
    Hello,
Where can you set the PageFormat object that is returned by job.pageDialog(pf); ?

  • When printing photos at my hp 1514n the colors are odd + not suitable. using win7 64bit +lat. driver

Hi, I' using a hp 1514n for printing photos. It's attached to my Win7 64bit computer. But the colors are not suitable. Printing is in high quality but the coloras are wrong (i.e. instead of a bule sky I get it  turquois).
all patches installaed and also the lastest drivers. What else can I do?
The files are ok, because I get the right colors when printign the files at another hp color laser jet with win7 (32 bit)
Where can I get a suitable icc file?

I'd use the GutenPrint drivers. They're usually better than the drivers that HP ships, anyway, and the latest version of GutenPrint will work with Leopard while the HP drivers for a printer that old will not. The drivers at <http://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/MacOSX/hpijs> also explicitly support the DJ960C. Those drivers are usually written by HP employees, are often superior to the drivers HP uses, and, like the GutenPrint drivers, are free.

  • My colors are off in one Photoshop, but not another.

I'm illustrating a book and working at both home and the office. At work, my Photoshop CS5 shows the correct colours, but when I export the file in any way, or open it up on my home version of Photoshop CS6, the colours show up much redder and vibrant!
The left are the colours that they are supposed to be, and the right is what I see at home and whenever I try to export the left.
I think it must be some preset in my CS5, since I've gotten the picture on the right both times. I've tried messing with the color management, but I can't figure it out. Could someone please help me? I can't continue on my book knowing the colors are wrong.

First, just to rule it out, make sure you have the same color settings. The really important thing is to have Color Management Policies set to "preserve embedded profiles". With this setting, the embedded document profile (whatever it is) will be correctly handled and displayed on both systems.
But I'm more inclined to think you have a broken display profile on your work machine, especially if only Photoshop seems affected. Photoshop is likely the only application that actually uses the display profile.
All this assuming you don't have a wide gamut monitor, which changes the playing field a bit.
Anyway. To test the display profile, set sRGB IEC 61966-2.1 as display profile in Control Panel > Color Manangement > Devices (Adobe RGB if wide gamut monitor). Relaunch Photoshop so that it can pick up the new profile at startup.
Do this on both machines. If they now display more or less the same, that's definitive confirmation. The real fix is to make a new profile with a calibrator, but if you don't have one, just use sRGB until you do.

  • IPad2 display colors are strange.

iPad2 display colors are wrong.  When I reboot the device by holding down both the home button and the sleep/wake button for 10 seconds, the screen with the Apple logo in the center is bright red instead of dark grey.  Does this indicate a hardware fault? Was working normally until a few days ago.

Settings>General>Accessibilty>Invert Colors>Off. Did you check that?
I just checked on my iPad and apparently that is not the problem. If your screen has turned red, try tapping the iPad on the back a couple of times and see if that helps. Read this discussion.

  • System colors definitely wrong

I bought a MacBook Pro yesterday (2.8 GHz, OS X 10.6 [why not 10.6.3? I guess Best Buy has old Mac in their warehouse: not nice]) and migrated my entire PowerBook G4 to it via Firewire. 61 gigs later, as I cast my undeserving eyes upon my beautiful new screen, I noticed that the colors and tones of my desktop picture were kind of different. Then I noticed that the un-visited links on webpages looked, not quite blue, but rather an intense darkish blue-purple. Then I noticed that some pages containing flash applications have rather intense, offish colors to them. I've been using Mac laptops since the first 180
Did I get a defective display?
Or is it that the migration assistant imported some settings belonging to the PowerBook G4 and it messed up the system colors in the MacBook Pro?
    Any opinions would be appreciated.

    Scott:
Thanks so very much for the help. I had attempted calibration, but not with expert mode. But now I did it and it definitely looks better now, though I think there's still some tweaking to do.
I lost a sentence in my original post: I have used color mac laptops since the 180c, and I do notice a big difference.
It might be that I'm not used to the brilliance of the new LCD, but I do know that the colors are wrong. And I do believe, after much thinking, that it had to do with the settings being messed up with Migration, since it copied my entire old PowerBook, settings included, to the MacBook Pro. Perhaps they should warn you about that when you migrate.
I'll mark the question as answered, since it seems to have had an effect, but I'm unhappy about Apple not letting you know that such things can go so wrong in Migration.
    I'll keep trying to calibrate...
Thanks so very much for your help and time,
    Saúl
PS: I couldn't figure out how to attach a pic here. Sorry.

  • Colors in PDF documents are wrong Please!!! Help!

When i open a PDF color document with Adobe, the colors are all wrong. It doesn't matter if i open the PDF document in IE browser or Adobe alone on desktop. All the PDF documents have the wrong color being displayed. Downloaded latest driver for monitor, Graphics card. Same documents display correct colors on other PDF reader like foxit. however adobe is incorrect. Tried reinstalling it and still have the same error. Please help.

I'm only having this problem with Adobe. I did uninstall all adobe applications that i could find and then reinstalled them. I only used Control panels add remove applications. I did restart my system after the uninstall. I also cleared the registry using CCleaner to remove any additional adobe files that may have been left behind.
I've fiddled with the Preferences tab. I couldn't get it to correct the colors. I've checked Replace document colors and tried all the options Colors where still wrong. Currently the settings are Document Colors options... Replace document colors Unchecked. Override page display unchecked for both. Tab order checked. Other accessibility options all unchecked. I called support and because I'm only using the free adobe reader I'm not privileged enough to get their technical support, that's only reserved for the paying full blown version of Adobe. They directed me to the forum. I'm very appreciative to all of those who are trying to help and i hope everyone can help me fix this problem.

  • HUGE VIDEO PROBLEM!  The colors are all wrong!  Quicktime Gamma Bug!

I'm on a Mac, and there is a huge problem with video.  When you view or playback videos, the color is all wrong!  It's desaturated and faded.  If you import your videos into premiere or playback through vlc, then everything looks correct. If you play them back or edit them in lightroom, the colors are all wrong.
Nice try Adobe, but you failed.

Ok, but we'll need more details.
Your OS version, how you calibrate your monitor, whether you see the same playing through Quicktime standalone on your Mac, what camera the videos came from, whether they've been edited in other software, etc.
This is a beta so there will be bugs - that information could help narrow down and fix issues such as these.

  • Colors are printing incorrectly when exported to PDF but print fine from InDeisgn and Photoshop

Documents I create in Photoshop and InDesign and export to PDF print in different/wrong colors. The colors are fine when printed directly from Photoshop or InDesign, they look correct when viewing the PDF, but change when printed from the PDF (specifically blues print as purple). How do I fix this?

This really sounds like a color management issue.
How are you creating the PDF files from InDesign or Photoshop? We recommend using the PDF/X-4 settings for proper printing from Acrobat or any direct PDF RIP/printer.
Also would like to know what type of printer you are printing to.

  • Internal display color is wrong, outputs just fine.  GPU or lcd trouble?

Hi there, I'm doing some troubleshooting for a clients son.  He has a 2008 macbook air, A1237.  It boots, but the internal display looks all wrong.  The colors are low res and very washed out.  However, when I have it connected to an external monitor the display appears fine.  Even when holding down option on boot, the graphics are the same washed out quality.  I have a couple pictures here.  For some reason the kid completely removed OSX and has Win7 installed... I can't explain that.  Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has come across this and if you're thinking it's a GPU issue or maybe just a broken display.  I tried to determine if the kid had been rough with it and he insists he just turned it on one day and it was like this. No external damage from what I can see. I've attached a picture showing the two displays side-by-side.
If anyone can help me determine where the problem is I would be very grateful.

So, a quick update. I started by checking the display cable connection on the logic board.  It appeared fine but I re-seated it anyway.  But the display was the same. I then blew out the Win7 installation and re-installed Snow Leopard.  Throughout the install and the subsequent boot up the internal display was the same as it had been; all the colors looked inverted, dark and lo-res.  So I hooked up an external monitor to check out some statistics and when I first connected it, it showed up as an extended display.  I chose to mirror the display and the internal display turned back to normal!  All bright and Snow Leopard purple!  I rebooted and the white screen showed up on start, where before it had been black.  For one moment on reboot the white did invert to black, but only for a moment.  It's currently back to the desktop, looking normal and I'm running updates.  Any ideas here, at all?

  • Cell background colors are not showing in preview - help? - DW4

    Hi,
I created a horizontal table for my menu bar, and gave each cell a different color by creating a separate class for each with background image - image is a block of color created in Photoshop. In design mode they look they way I want, but in preview (Safari) the colors don't show up at all - the whole area is gray, and all I see is the text for each cell. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Alternatively, is there a better way I can set this up to have different colors for each button?
    Thank you!

Here is the HTML code, and the CSS code for the menu bar follows:
