Colors details in Performance Graph of OEM 11gR1

Dear All,
I use OEM 11gR1 to monitor continuous performance of my database.
Though what colors represent is described on the right panel, but i need to study them in details and if any abnormal raise in color what actions should be taken.
Is there any documentation available that I can study?
Like brown color is concurrency, what does it means in detail and how to avoid the situation?
Thanks,
Imran

Just to state in short.
1. Graphs mostly contains two part graph + legend
2. legend will tell you that color used is for what concurrency, ideal wait etc. They are basically waits.

    Hi,
    I need to install OEM 11gR1 grid control in Linux 64-bit box
    And i need to know the system requirement details such as RAM,SWAP,Disk space
    When i went with 11gR1 grid control pdf document i was confused of the system requirement details
    Because this the first time and i am entirely new to OEM
    Can anyone help me to start?

  • Grod Control - Performance graph is not refreshing

    I'm using the GC 10.2.0.5 with DB 10.2.0.4. There are some databases have dignostics and tuning pack. The performance graph is using the Adobe Flash in 10.2.0.5 under performance --> top activity. This graph will not refresh even when we set auto refresh for every 15 minutes and also no correlation between the graph and the top SQL. However, it provides the correct information the very first when we login. But, the graph will not be refreshed afterwards. I used GC 10.2.0.3 and 10.2.0.4 and had no issues with those patchsets.
    Did someone notice the same issue?. Is it a bug or any IE settings required?. I have not installed the 10.2.0.5.2 PSU. Does the PSU resolve the issue?. Your inputs are appreciated.

    Hello I am running OEM GC 10.2.0.5 and IE 7 and everything works fine.
    When open page Top Activity for a database, you must however pay attention on the following:
    The performance graph contains a grey colour control that you drag horizontally through the graph in time.
    When the Page gets refreshed, say after 15 seconds, the control remains it’s original position. So if you want to see the Top SQL being synchronized you need to drag the control back to the most right position in the graph.
    Works fine to me.
    Regards
    Rob

    Hi All,
    Is there any way to get the Monthly Database performance report using OEM Grid Control... I am able to grab only one week data in Historical option....
    Thanks In advance

    I have the same problem in OEM 11g, the calendar on the Performance tab - Historical selection - only shows "January 0" and can not be changed...a bug?

  • Performance Tab in OEM   ( Oracle database Standard Edition )

    We have Oracle database 11g ( Standard edition ONE).
    We have installed OEM (oracle enterprise manager) with database installation.
    We are not able to access the PERFORMANCE tab in OEM.
    1) Is it because Performance tab cannot be seen in Standard Edition ONE version ?
    2) When I tried to setup the control_management packaccess parameter in SPFILE, its failing . Is it because
    of the database edition ?
    3) Any work around in Standard Edition ONE to make the performance tab and tuning pack available with licensing ?

    Pl identify which specific version of 11g.

  • 10g Graphs - How to customize the default color of a Bar Graph

    Hi,
    I've posted this thread in Reports section, have received no reply yet. Maybe no one has ever tried this before!!
    I am porting a couple of 6i OGD's to 10g graphics.
    Basically I am invoking reports from a form. The reports contains embedded Graph.
    Here comes the tricky part.
    I have a couple of Graphs in 6i that display each bar of a bar graph in different color.
    Example:
    Value       Bar Color
    Critical     Red
    Major       Orange
    Minor       Yellow
    None       GrayQ) I want to know how to set the color of each bar of a bar graph based on the value it takes. i,e If it's critical the bar should be displayed in red. If it's major, the bar should be displayed in orange.
    I added conditional formatting in 10g Graph, and this is the trigger that was created.
    function CT_1FormatTrigger return boolean is
    begin
      -- Automatically Generated from Reports Builder.
      if (:f19 > -1)
      then
        srw.set_foreground_border_color('yellow');
        srw.set_border_pattern('solid');
        srw.set_foreground_fill_color('yellow');
        srw.set_fill_pattern('solid');
      end if;
      -- Automatically Generated from Reports Builder.
      if (:f20 > -1)
      then
        srw.set_foreground_border_color('red');
        srw.set_border_pattern('solid');
        srw.set_foreground_fill_color('red');
        srw.set_fill_pattern('solid');
      end if;
      return (TRUE);
    end;When I try to invoke the above report from the form, I get the error: FRM-41214: Unable to run report.
    If I remove conditional formatting, I am able to invoke the report from the form with the default color in the embedded graph.
    Hopefully someone has ideas on this!
    Thanks

    Why don't you use the build-in charting capability of reports 10g instead? There is FormsGraph.jar implementation for forms but that might not have the flexibility of what 6i graphs has/had and not "officially" supported - not like the reports 10g charting capability (which is built in and can be customized by editing the related xml files (if necessary). Note: FormsGraph.jar has it's own limitations

  • Running OS command using OEM 11gR1

    Hi,
    I have installed OEM 11gR1 on linux 64bit machine and have applied all recommended patches on top of it. Everything worked out fine till i got to the part of configuring my database alert.
    Database Instance: UAT > All Metrics > Tablespace Space Used (%) > Tablespace Name APPS_UNDOTS1 >
    Jun 14, 2012 1:31:38 PM User Action SYSTEM SYSMAN initiated a manual reevaluation of the alert.
    Jun 8, 2012 1:13:36 PM Corrective Action <SYSTEM> Execution created for Corrective Action INITIATE_SMS.
    Jun 8, 2012 1:13:36 PM Corrective Action <SYSTEM> Another Corrective Action INI not run since there is an existing running execution of CA INITIATE_SMS.
    Jun 8, 2012 12:50:05 PM <SYSTEM> Tablespace APPS_UNDOTS1 is 98 percent full
    Jun 8, 2012 12:40:05 PM <SYSTEM> Tablespace APPS_UNDOTS1 is 91 percent full
    Based on some tablespace criteria i want the system to:
    1) generate a corrective action which is not happening (note that on line 2 above it seems like a corrective action was initiated but i don't know how this happened and this is the only occurrence)
    2) run an OS command when the alert is initiated to
    Questions:
    1) why is the system not generating any corrective actions
    2) how can i set OEM to run an OS command
    Thank you for your help

  • CS6 beta ACR7 'Color Detail' slider BUG Win7-64bit

    I'm not sure if this happens on everyones system...
    Steps to reproduce:
    1) Open a photo (RAW, jpg, etc) with heavy color noise in ACR 7.0.0.308 (like ISO > 6400)
    2) In the Detail tab, set the noise reduction 'Color' slider to about 40.
    3) Then drag the 'Color Detail' slider back and forth using the left mouse button while noting the effect on the photo.
    4) Release the mouse button at 'Color Detail' of say 100 (or something far from 50).
    5) Notice that the effect will be revert to the equivalent default of 50 even though the slider numeric value still shows whatever you set it to.
    6) Also notice that the up/down arrow keys can change the slider numeric value, but the effect on the image stays at 50.
    In summary, the 'Color Detail' slider works only when the user drags that slider while the left mouse button is in the 'down' state.

  • In the PSE10 RAW editor, what do luminance detail, color detail, and luminance contrast sliders do f

    What do the luminance detail, luminance contrast and color detail sliders do in noise reduction when editing RAW files in PSE 10?

    Well, I understand it is a balancing act, but in PSE 10 we've gone from 2 sliders (luminance noise and color noise) to 5 sliders (added luminance detail, luminance contrast and color detail) to the noise menu.  I can see the effect the first 2 have but am not convinced I see what the other three do.

  • How do I change the line color in a line graph?

    I used Illustrator to create a line graph. (Not my desired option as I normally import them from R and then edit, but the textbook wanted to show that you can create graphs and edit them in Illustrator)
    Anyway, I did all of the editing except that I can't change the color of the line. My assignment requires me to match the textbook example and the textbook does not provide instructions on how to do it. I've done just about any method I can think of and the line still stays light gray. I'm almost willing to just give up and lose the points but something as simple as color can't be this hard, right? Right?

    Whenever I try to shift+direct select it thinks I want to move the line, so as I shift + direct select and drag my mouse across the line (to highlight it all) it moves a chunk of the line and turns it into a near perpendicular line.
    I found the appearance window, it just says "Path" (the color I want it to be that it's not)
    "Stroke" 4pt
    "Fill" (the color I want it to be that it's not)
    "Opacity": Default
    And some other buttons. I think I'll try the help line tomorrow, I know I saw a customer service number somewhere and I'm only here because the chat was unavailable. This is only one of my 3 problems with my assignment so I'll search here for answers to the other two. Learning new things is rarely fun.

  • A way to get information about colored points from a graph?

    Two questions:
    1. Is there a possibility to know whether a specific point is already plotted in a graph and what is the color of that specific point?
    2. Is there a way to use the legend in order to show what each colored point represents (not lines, only colored points..)?
    Thank you!

    1. I used PlotPoint & a function "returncolor" in order to make each colored point present a different situation depend on variable 'x':
    double m_abs (double x) {
    if (x < 0) return -x;
    return x;
    int returncolor (double x) {
    if (m_abs(x) <= 0.05) return VAL_GREEN;
    if (m_abs(x) <= 0.15 && m_abs(x) > 0.05) return VAL_BLUE;
    if (m_abs(x) <= 0.25 && m_abs(x) > 0.15) return VAL_DK_MAGENTA;
    return VAL_RED;
    The problem occurs when PlotPoint used twice for the exact same point with different colors so only the last colored point would remain.
    I want that in this case, only the color with the maximum variable 'x': would remain..
    Sם I can solve it by saving the data to 2D array.. but I thought maybe there is an option to get true or false whether a point exist on a specific location in a graph or not, and what is the color of that point.
    2. Yes, I have already used annotations., but too bad there is no way to put legend for colored points..

  • How to set the 4th Y axis color for a line graph

    Hello experts,
    I have developed a multiple y axis line graph using oracle reports 10g.
    It has got 1 x axis and 4 axes. I am able to set the color of the the first three y axes
    but the reports designer automatically assigns yellow color to the 4th axis.
    I mean there is no option in the graph wizard for changing the 4th color)
    How to change the color of this 4th y axis to a desired color?
    Cheers
    Sri

    Assuming you mean that your graph has 4 series, not 4 Y axes, you might try something like this:
    1. Save a backup copy of your current report in case the changes you are about to make don't work out and you want to revert to the backup copy.
    2. Using the Property Inspector, display the current value of the Graph Settings property for your graph. The value of the property should be something like:
    <rw:graph id...
    </rw:graph>3. Look for a <SeriesItems> tag and a matching </SeriesItems> tag in the property value. If you don't find them, add the following two lines immediately before the </Graph> tag.
    <SeriesItems>
    </SeriesItems>4. Between the <SeriesItems> tag and the matching </SeriesItems> tag, add (or update) a <Series> tag for each series that you want to specify the color for. For example, to specify the color of the fourth series as red, you would use a <Series> tag like this:
    <Series id="3" color="#ff0000"/>Note that the id numbers start at 0 for the first series, 1 for the second, and so on. The color value is a hexadecimal number specifying the RGB value of the color.
    You can also use the <Series> tag to specify other features like the marker shape.
    For more information on what you can do using the Graph Settings property, see this FAQ and Technical Note.
    Hope this helps.
