Colors of .jpg all wrong!

Hi! I am using CS3 on a Mac. Recently, every time I create a .jpg file in PS, and try to either email it, or post it on Flickr, etc... the colors all of a sudden turn ugly neon shades. I used to be able to import them into iPhoto, and then email them successfully, but now iPhoto says it cannot import the files because they are unrecognizable. In the default Mac "Preview" program, I can open the .jpg files and they look normal, but I cannot share them with anyone through email, etc. with the correct colors! Please help! The photos I have attached are examples. The larger .jpg has the incorrect colors, but when I saved for web, at a smaller size, the colors are magically back to normal! What is going on??? Thanks!

Thanks so much! I just tried to save for web, and it worked like magic. Still wondering why iPhoto won't recognize my .jpgs though.... Anybody know?

Q: The colors in Photoshop are all wrong. They have a neon look or are discolored with a blue, red, green or Yellow cast. I look at the same pictures in other applications and they look just fine. How do I fix this?
A: Recalibrate your monitor using Adobe Gamma (OS9) or the Displays Control in System Preferences (OSX). Photoshop uses your monitor profile to display your images other apps don't. Be sure you start the recalibration using a fresh monitor profile (sRGB or the profile that came with your monitor for example). If you try to recalibrate using the old corrupt profile you will still have a corrupt monitor profile and your color will still be bad. Also, if you are using OS 9 make sure you are using ColorSync 3.0.4. The 3.0.4 patch is available on the Apple web site.

Thanks. But it looks like in all my frustration, I wasn't sure my original call for help had posted, so must have submitted the same question again.
But I just had a new thought on the problem. While reviewing a story I received from another website, I noticed that the photos attached to the article looked a lot like what I described in my message. It made me wonder if I have a software problem at all . . . or if it's the screen on my Mac that needs recalibration!
It only took 2 minutes to find a website that discussed it — with sample screens to help determine if that was what I'm dealing with. Since a screen supposedly showing a mix of numbered, grey boxes looked totally white to me and I could only see the white numbers on a screen that supposedly contained boxes in varying shades of black, I think I might be on the right track. Just not sure, since I had to reach the bottom of the page before spotting the pitch for a product that supposedly will recalibrate for me. I'm not sure I want to tackle recalibration on my own, but may call the Mac Geniuses at our local mall and see if my hunch is right . . .and if so, what they would charge to do it for me.
BTW, if it sounds like a calibration problem, do you think moving my computer from one desk top another (just 5 feet away) could have caused it? I'm not sure, since it wasn't on my mind at the time, but I think that's roughly when I first started to notice discrepancies in color.

HUGE VIDEO PROBLEM! The colors are all wrong! Quicktime Gamma Bug!

I'm on a Mac, and there is a huge problem with video. When you view or playback videos, the color is all wrong! It's desaturated and faded. If you import your videos into premiere or playback through vlc, then everything looks correct. If you play them back or edit them in lightroom, the colors are all wrong.

Ok, but we'll need more details.
Your OS version, how you calibrate your monitor, whether you see the same playing through Quicktime standalone on your Mac, what camera the videos came from, whether they've been edited in other software, etc.
This is a beta so there will be bugs - that information could help narrow down and fix issues such as these.

Why is my layout all wrong until I log into my site?

I have just upgraded from v3 to v4 of Firefox. Myself and other members are now having issues with the site layout.
If you use Firefox 4 and visit this site http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/forum.php you should see the layout all wrong.... If you look in other browsers you will see what I mean.

Some of the elements have top and bottom padding in Firefox that they do not have in IE. There is a style rule that Firefox is applying to the forum rows that IE is not. The reason for the discrepancy is not obvious to me.

ITunes store display all wrong!!!! any help please?

since the latest upgrade for iTunes the connection time has been getting longer and longer. Now when i click to open store the display is all wrong!!
the centre window for the store is almost like looking at old html language with the contents being listed underneath each other instead of being laid out in one page. to see it all i have to scroll down for ages.
I have a screen grab if anyone needs to see what i mean ( need an email address to send to).
I have unistalled itunes twice and even gone back to version 9 but still same problem.\
Still waiting on reply from Apple Support.
Can anyone help as its driving me mad!!

Does this happen immediately when opening the files?

Hi, The options bar shows sample size 101 by 101 Average. That was my problem. When I was troubleshooting in order to try to explain to you what was happening, I noticed that when I sampled my models teeth, it gave me a color a bit lighter than her lipstick as my foreground color in my tool box. That started me thinking in the correct way. I didn't realize that my sample size had somehow gotten switched from point sample to 101 by 101 average. I appreciate the help. Thank you.

Restore the device from the backup created prior to the update to put everything back the way it was prior to the update. This will not downgrade the iOS.

One Config Window to Color-Manage them all

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post it, but since there seems to be no Adobe Bridge Forum, here it goes:
I think Adobe should give Bridge a complete and unique window to manage Color Settings for all the Softwares when synchronizing them.
Then we could decide all the aspects of your Color Management flow, for all the softwares, at once.
The way things are today, the more you are sure how your Color Management flow should be, the less you are invited to use Bridge's synchronization.
Why? Because as we know each software has some different settings on their Color Settings window.
For example, InDesign doesn't have a "Black point compensation" option, because it's a Photoshop thing. And Photoshop doesn't have a "Ignore linked profiles (Preserve numbers)" option, as it's only applicable to InDesign.
Other example: I may want to be asked when there are profile mismatches on InDesign, but I want Photoshop to always open the images with the incoming profie whithout asking.
I just think USA (United Softwares of Adobe, as I call them) should finally shake hands and work on an unique solution for a change.

Technically, the email app creates the copy. Entourage, Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, Gmail, you name it. All email clients will create a separate file for each attachment. They never just point to the original.
That means when a spotlight or Finder search is instigated to find that file, all creations with that file name will appear. Is that a correct understanding?
Yes, since it's just looking for a matching string of text. Where it is is irrelevant. The search engine can't assume what parts of the drive you do and don't want to search, so it looks everywhere by default.
And, if that is the case, is there any way to prevent those from appearing with a search?
It wouldn't be easy since the name matches your search string. You'd have to be able to define only certain folders in your search criteria, but I don't see a way to do that. If you press Command+F from the desktop for the basic search tool, you can click the + button next to the first search criteria to add more options. Click "Kind" and then down to "Other". You'll get a long list of other ways to constrict the search, but I didn't see an option to choose a folder.

IPad shared library view all wrong..help

I have added several TV shows to my itunes library. Each show has the correct metadata (artwork, season, date, episode 3, etc).
Don't worry this is all done legally via my "The Tube" software & digital TV tuner.
Question & issue
When I access my shared library (videos-->shared-->TV shows)
The list is not at all organised like it is on the Apple TV 2.
I understand they are two different products.
The only way I can locate a show is via the artwork? No names unless I click the artwork.
Some TV show are listed mutiple times.
Some TV shows are not listed at all?
Is there not a way to search for a TV show that is in my iTunes library via my ipad and view it on my ipad?
This is very frustraging as some appear (mutiple times) and some don't.
Everything have been properly encoded to play on all devices.

Apply color correction to all footage by changing one color?

Hello everybody,
I have two versions of the same footage which I want to synchronize and make one video out of them. By masking, I've put one on top of the other and I'm synching the footage, but the colors are slightly different in the bottom one (a bit brighter). I've tried to correct it using several filters, but even though I get some really good results changing the values (I'm using Brightness and Contrast right now, but I've also tried Color Correction, HLS, Hue/Saturation...) they're not as good as I'd like.
In several moments, for example, the sky appears, in both layers at the same time. Is there any way I can make the bottom layer correct the sky color into exactly the one in the top layer, so the changes I make in the HLS of that color apply to all footage? That way the color changes would be perfect.
Maybe this is easy to do, but I'm a beginner at After Effects so I don't really know how to do it. Online tutorials don't seem to help much either.

Barely used 564 color cartridges show all same low level. 564 XL black cartridge shows 3/4 full

Two months ago, I purchased and installed 564 XL Black and 3 color cartridges in my Photosmart 309a. I've printed approximately 100 black and white documents and no color documents. My black ink level is 2/3 full but the color cartridges are all showing the exact same level--just above empty. I also just installed a photo black cartridge, which is showing 1/2 full.
Black copies are great. Color copies are streaked and faded. I've contacted HP tech support on the phone and was given the same answers over and over for almost 20 minutes. After asked his supervisor to help, he quickly came back and gave me almost 10 more minutes of the same explanation as before. No answers, options or solutions--just run-around. And now, I'm out $52 without even printing a single color copy?

Looks like your setup is to use quality Grayscale. As you know mixing all prime colors together at a right amounts will give you millions of colors from black to white. To print BLACK INK ONLY, please try:
(a) Double click printer icon,
(b) Click Set preferences
(c) Click Advanced,
(d) Select "Black ink only" under Grayscale
(e) Click Apply/OK ...
Note: As mentioned in my previous reply, printer STILL needs and USES color inks during warming up process and few other processes to keep itself in good health.

K9n2 bios reading my cpu temps all wrong well actuly it not reading them at all my cpu AMD x2 5200 is said to be ideling at 26c but when i run a stress testor it stay at 26c so no change what so ever between load anf idle temps.
my cou core temps are wrong any way and all wasy have been core 0 idle at -2c and core 1 -22c but they have goe up to core 1 26c and core 2 8c load so its obviously geting hotter but the motherboard isant repoting that it is :/ i have used manny difforent programs and all came back with 26-27c for the cpu no mater what i do i have bios 3.3.
this never haped on my old ABIT kn9 sli it allways stated the corect cpu heat
ohh and also speed fan carnt recogise the cpu it just says temp 1,2,3 for the motherboard where as befor it was cpu,core,chip and so on (that was with old board)
any sugestions

well my cpu is back in my old motherboard with no problems at all no hard crashes and with the same ram timings the proper ram volts 2.1(msi board couldent handle 2.1v for ram) and the board only reports 26c no other temp used all temp programs and non of them changed when fully stresed only core temp showed any temp change but cart go buy that because my cores are so far off now on my old bard the temps go up and down like they should.
i did clear the CMOS whith all unpluged
all were at stock but ram voltage went to 1.8v so upped it to 2.1v (manual recomended) (wouldent start)
at stock if i restarted pc for somthing like an update it wouldent post unless it was un pluged at pluged back in (at stock)
and i have had no such problems with my old ASROCK board or my board im on now a ABIT kn9 570a sli
ohh and the board came warped but the rear ports
any way decided to go over to intel so got a EVGA board now and using a old p4 extream
sorry to sound pissed of but 2 boards that were useless (each was from difforent Etailor)

Is it possible that you may have an Accessibility feature called "White on Black" turned on?

Use White on Black to invert the colors on the iPhone screen, which may make it easier to read the screen. When White on Black is turned on, the screen looks like a photographic negative.
Invert the screen’s colors: In Settings, choose General > Accessibility and tap the “White on Black” switch.
If that is not the case, try restarting / resetting the iPhone:
