COLORS OFF ON CONNECTING TO TV

Strangely enough, everything that should be red is green and vice versa, when I connect my Macbook via cable to my Sony Bravia TV. Any idea what may be causing this strange phenomenon?
Calibrating in the setup screen does not seem to work...since all I can do is choose the tint of white.
I am puzzled!

You're not using Apple-branded cables, are you? Try switching the red and green jacks on the tv side only.

How do I disable Spotify Connect?
If I've got my tablet (iPad) running the app, I definitely don't want my phone running it and draining the battery with the app running there as well.
    Thanks
    Edit by
I've just added a guide on ways of disabling Spotify Connect. Hopefully there will be a way of enabling/disabling the service at will in the future.
    How to disable Spotify Connect
    MODERATOR EDIT:
Hey everyone, Spotify staff here. Recently we updated the Community Idea "Make Spotify Connect a choice" with the status "Not Right Now".
If you've installed our latest Spotify app for Android (1.8.0) and you're still having trouble with battery drain please let us know right here.
We'd also like to mention these other Connect ideas which are a bit more specific to the Connectrequests you've made in this thread. Please leave your kudos and feedback in those as well if they apply to the reasons you'd like to turn off Spotify Connect.
[Spotify Connect] Less pop-ups when I change devices
[Spotify Connect] Don’t automatically synchronize what i am playing across devices
[Spotify Connect] Add access control on my Connect devices
If you don't see the idea you'd like to see, please feel free to make a new idea and post a link in this thread. We're keeping a close eye on your feedback and we're actively bringing it back to the right teams.

Hi... I have a problem with this as well - I find it incredibly annoying. For example, I was out picking up a pizza and listening to spotify in my car... When I got home my girlfriend began listening to Spotify on her cell phone - and my cell phone began playing music from it because my device was the last selected. If at all possible, I'd like there to be a feature to turn this option OFF entirely. I can't see it being logical to have this on by default. I enjoyed the option that stopped my device from playing completely when someone else was using the same account from another machine, hopefully you can bring this back because it totally makes more sense than the way it is now.
I don't like the ability with anyone who has access to the account to be able to play music on any device that has the app open as well. This can be quite embarrassing if someone accidentally clicks on your device, say, as you go into a meeting with your phone in your pocket and it begins playing "It's raining men" or something... I hope you can understand my sentiment! Again this can be fixed if you just gave us an option to turn this off entirely for any (or all) device(s).

  • Nokia Lumia 2520 Shut off after connected to keybo...

    Hello all,
I have a Lumia 2520 tablet which I've had for about 4 months now.  I initially purchased one of the power keyboards with my tablet which worked great at first.  Then the tablet stopped responding to tkeyboard.  I sent in the tablet for repairs and it was returned with a status "Not broken" or something like that.  The tablet still wouldn't respond to the keyboard, though.  thinking that the problem was most likely teh keyboard, I purchased another keyboard. (I really wanted the red one anyway).
At first, the tablet and keyboard was working just fine.  But two weeks later, the tablet started shutting off when connected to keyboard.  So here's the basic scenario.  If my tablet is docked in the keyboard, I won't turn on.  I've attempted to hold the power button down forcing a full shutdown, and then turn it on, but that doesn't work either.  If I remove the tablet from the keyboard, it still doesn't turn on.  But if I hold down the power button for approx 15 seconds, and then try to turn it on, it comes on without any problems.  Now, if I re-dock the tablet with the keyboard, it immediately shutdown.  As if it's going to sleep.  But once again, will not turn back on unless I repeat the remove and holding down the power button.
Is this a problem with the tablet, or the keyboard.
    Please help.
    thanks!!
    Steve

Yardi Systems supporter of Microsoft and creates program to run on IE. One such program is called Payscan. It allows users to scan Invoices and post into the system. After posting the image of such invoices are abailable for view, for that Yardi prompts to install GPI to view images. However Microsoft does not allow to run such programs in my Windows RT tablet. Is there a work around? The image could be exported as PDF and opened using Adobe, which is a waste of time and space constraints

I am out of the country. I turned my cellular data off and connected to wiFi . However, it is still showing that i am connected to a network.  How can i be sure that i am not being charged for roaming?

Make sure data roaming and cellular data is turned off.  If you don't want to receive calls or SMS then put your phone in airplane mode and reactivate WiFi

What clues exist in the messages file?

Trying to connect to a remote database which worked in 10.1.3 developer preview gives now:

ORA-12518, TNS:listener could not hand off client connection
The Connection descriptor used by the client was:
From sqlplus I can connect. I don't have access to the remote database server/configuration. I tried the workarounds specified here

    I deleted
    ojdbc14dms.jar ojdbc14.jar

another important information is that connecting by the default listener LISTENER instead of the LISTENER_BKP_1 listener, the connection is completed successfully. There's enough SGA memory space too.

ORA-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connectionDon't do Oracle on Windows, so I'm not sure how the following relates to the Listener dealing with a dedicated server connection request on Linux/Unix.
On Linux/Unix, a dedicated server request means just that - a dedicated process has to be started to service that client. The Listener does it by using the parameters of the configured listener.ora service to execute +$ORACLE_HOME/bin/oracle+. This process then starts up, and the Listener hands off the client connection for this process for servicing.
If there is a failure somewhere on this series of steps fail, the Listener throws the ORA-12518 exception. For example, the +$ORACLE_HOME+ has been incorrectly configured in listener.ora and it fails to execute and startup a dedicated server process.
And this relates to the underlying error you are seeing:
TNS-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection
    TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
    TNS-00530: Protocol adapter error
32-bit Windows Error: 2: No such file or directoryI think that the Listener on Windows uses the CreateRemoteThread() Win32 call to start up the server process thread. However, it needs a valid process identifier (of the existing Oracle instance) for this call - and thus needs to first identify the Oracle instance process. Could be that this step uses a ORACLE_HOME reference. And if that directory path is not valid, it is unable to identify the process id of the Oracle instance and thus unable to spawn a dedicated thread to service that client.

  • My apple Tv show greeny color when i connect it into a projector

So i just discover this problem yesterday, i have an apple tv and imac. I use the same projectors and same cable, but the color output looks so bad (greeny color) when i connect it into my apple tv, but when i connect it to my i mac, the color is flawless and the projector works fine.. so could anybody explain it to me, I appreciate your help.. thank you..

After connecting AppleTV 3 with USB and starting iTunes you need to connect the power - the steps are different to AppleTv2 which does not need power after connection.
IS your itunes up to date? It may not know about AppleTV 3 if it's more than a few months old.

  • Can i turn the Laptop screen off while connecting the TV?

    Dear All,
I am connecting my Mac to TV 32'' via mini display port converted to HDMI.
I am using it on MAC OS X 10.6.6, and on Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 also.
when i am connecting my TV, the 2 screens are on, Laptop screen and TV screen.
Can i turn the Laptop screen off while connecting the TV?
how to do this on both operating systems?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Boudy,

The quick answer is, hook up the tv to the computer, close the lid, then wake the computer up by clicking the mouse while the lid is closed. Not sure if it'll work while running windows, but I'd bet it does if you have the mac drivers installed on the win os.

  • [HELP] 10g error TNS-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connecti

    Hi all,
TNS-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection
(when I do a sqlplus, it hangs for one two minutes, then the error above shows)
My oracle 10g is installed in a windows system. this error only happens when the database is heavily used for some time. After I restarted the Listoner, the connection is ok again. Does anyone has a solution for this? Thanks a lot.
    Jason

Monitor your page file usage on Windows system (I assume its a 32 bit machine). When Windows starts to swap Oracle SGA into page file., you encounter TNS errors. Strange but we have observed this.
If you can allocate more free physical memory on the server (by removing unwanted applications from the memory), then you can reduce these errors.
Permanent solution would be to add more physical RAM (with 4GT on 32 bit) or switch to 64 bit architecture.

    Typo corrected and added following.
You can set DIRECT_HANDOFF_TTC_LISTENER=OFF in listener.ora and restar the database as temporary solution. Check metalink Doc ID: 233747.1

  • TNS-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection, XE 10g/WinXP

I've installed Oracle XE 10 on Windows XP. When I browse to the database homepage, I get this in listener.log:
    Listening on: (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=127.0.0.1)(PORT=8080))(Presentation=HTTP)(Session=RAW))
    08-FEB-2012 01:07:24 * service_register * xe * 0
    08-FEB-2012 01:07:24 * http * (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=127.0.0.1)(PORT=1702)) * handoff * http * 12518
TNS-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection
    TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
I don't think it is shortage of resources (just rebooted). I put "DIRECT_HANDOFF_TTC_LISTENER=OFF" in listener.ora .. no luck. I removed the listener.ora file altogether ... ditto.
    What else could cause this?
    Steve

I can connect from SQLPlus. Laptop has 3 GB RAM.

  • Is it possible to turn off "Internet Connect / Authentication Failed" msgs

Greetings and thank you for your time.
My network connect is set up to automatically connect wirelessly or through Ethernet...this is fine.
However, every time I open my notebook or start it up,
If my computer cannot connect through those two, (airport is off/no cable attached) it constantly sends the pop-up message: "Internet Connect / Authentication Failed". 3 times over a period of 15min.
Is there any way to turn this warning off ?
I am not trying to access a connection & Mail/Safari are closed.
It makes it frustrating when you arrive at a meeting to start a presentation and you keep getting this popup that blocks all functions till you acknowledge it and click "ok".
Any suggestions other then turning off auto connect (which I appreciate when I do turn on Airport or plug in an ethernet cable.
Thank you for any support on this.
    Best regards, T

Greetings T, and Welcome to the Discussions!
We just have to find what it is that's tying to connect/call home, and disable it.
Common examples are Network Time... Set Date & Time Automatically.
    Software Update... Check for Updates...
    Dashboard Widgits & Rss Feeds.
    Automount Shares.
    Mail automatically checking for Mail.
I( was thinking more when I started, but the Berr is...
If all that fails, maybe get Little Snitch, it tells you when a program tries to send info to the internet so you can see what's going on in the background!
