How to determine which colors are used in the publication?
We must get - cyan, magenta, pantone 100 C.

I thought about AdjustObjectAIColors, and its a good way to get a bunch of them but I'm not 100% sure if it covers all colours or just those found in paths. If not, this would exclude colours on effects & overlays for symbols, found in kPluginArt (though there is a similar function for plugin art specifically) and I imagine text. Probably a few other types if we look hard enough. Granted, paths are probably 90% of colours :-) I also wondered (sinc I haven't tried it before) how comprehensive that method is -- does it hit all the colours in various effects & styles layered on path? Or does it just hit the standard stroke & fill? I assume not, but I don't know.

Get colors used in a PDF file via Plug-in

I have a PDF file with some texts color red, some texts color blue, and some texts color ...
I want to get how many colors used in the PDF file.
I only think of getting color list with checking every character in the file.
It will take long time.
Is there any idea to get colors easier ?

Book Module Lightroom 4 -- can I use a color picker to pick a color from a photo to use as the backg

I am trying to match a background color for a page in a Blurb book using the Lightroom 4 Book Module. Is there any way I can use the color picker to pick a color from the photo to use as the color for the background and as the type color? I see the color box for these situations, but the color picker only seems to work with the color array that pops up and doesn't go to the photo. Any suggestions? Am I overlooking something very obvious?

It works for me.
The usual Lightroom way: click the eyedropper onto the color palette first, then hold and drag to your photo to sample color.

The white background makes reading text and numbers very difficult. Especially if the are in light gray.

The answer to your question is "No"...and what you're experiencing is a major gripe with this "Upgrade".
If Apple would allow the Invert Colors option to be activated without the effect that has on images it would resolve most of the concerns about iOS 7. I would even consider downloading it... again.

Text color changes when more than one color is used in the same paragraph in a bulleted list

I work in a print shop on designers' files preparing them for print. Machine I use is an iMac, plenty of RAM, running Tiger 10.4. Here is my problem: A PC user sent us an InDesign CS3 file. A portion of the text is styled as a bulleted list with character color and bullet (the solid circle) defined as (default) black. However, the style is over-ridden on the bullet and first two words following the bullet with a spot color red, which is present in the Swatches palette (PMS 186). The remainder of the sentence stays black. The text somehow lost this override, and instead of keeping the 2 different colors all the text changed to black. This seems to have occurred when I saved the file on my machine. When I go back and open the original file the text is still colored both red and black. I think that the file was originally an InDesign CS2 file, and could even have been a Indd version 1 or Quark file. Why did the color change with no user intervention? Also, I can't understand why, when the first 2 words are highlighted and changed to red, the bullet also changes to red. (That is good, of course, because that is what we want, but I don't understand how that happens when the character style is black, and I can't even highlight the bullet itself). I sure would appreciate any ideas anyone has on this, I have to try to explain why we printed the text in black when it was supposed to be red and black!

Alan, I will suggest to the designer that she use a nested style. I wonder if that will make the styling more stable moving accross the different platforms.
Bob, I feel like you may have thought, as I did, that hundreds of saves and saved-as and many different applications would have damaged the file, but as you could see by the History, the file was fairly fresh.
There is a very outside chance that I wiped out the style overides by command click but I am really careful and I doubt it.
So I'll thank you both again and check back each day, perhaps this will happen to someone else and become an issue. I have tried to repeat my actions and cause the error again but to no avail.

Anyone else notice the bug in the "Blend RGB Colors Using Gamma" feature in Photoshop?

I think there's a bug in the "Blend RGB Colors Using Gamma" feature in Edit>Color Settings>Advanced Controls. For some reason it doesn't apply to layer styles.

Ok, here are two images. They both have a text layer with an outer glow (100% opacity pure green, normal blending mode) and a feathered green brush stroke (normal blending mode) over a red background. The first image is in RGB 8 bit (ie non-linear) image color mode. The second image is in RGB 32 bit (ie linear) image color mode. You can see how the 32 bit mode image (second image) has proper blending of the green glow onto the red background in both the text layer style as well as the brush stroke, while the 8-bit image properly blends the brush stroke but fails to blend the layer style using linear gamma (aka 1.0). In both screenshots you can see that PS is set to "Blend RGB Using 1.0 Gamma".

When I change the color using windows 7, apparently firefox runs slower. The videos I watch are spotty and looking like it's in slow motion. Sometimes I get a prompt to use firefox colors and this fixes it. But why can't I use other colors, and are there settings to help me fix this problem? Thank you for any information you can give me. Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

Adjusting the label color using three jscrollbars

Hi I am trying to set up a program where I use three scroll bars, one for red, green and blue that will change the rgb color settings for the foreground when you move the scrollbars. I have to use scrollBars, Seen an example for using slider bars, but i didn`t know how to adopt the idea into my program..If anyone has any suggestions on how to go about this I would greatly appreciate it. Here is the program I found that uses slider bars,I removed some stuff to have it reflect more what I want.

Just select Photoshop Manages Color, and the printer driver color options should be disabled.

Is there a way to switch back to the old color scheme for the keypad? After upgrading to ios 6, the keypad switched to a black-on-white color scheme. I have a severe visual impairment and found the previous white-on-black color scheme much easier to see and use.
The inverted colors option doesn’t make things look all that better. My dad, who does not have any serious vision problems, has put off upgrading his iphone because of the color scheme changes.

I have exactly the same concern. It seems it would be a simple fix for Apple to allow users to turn off the camera (and even the mic) while keeping FaceTime open -- especially now that it turns out FaceTime must remain open in order to send and receive iPhone calls on a Mac.
I like to think this new functionality of FaceTime will be baked into a future release of Yosemite, as the current setup has that not-quite-finished feel of a work in progress. I have a client on a fixed budget who wants a booklet with some pages in color. I use a printer who charges fluctuate based on the amount of color coverage. Can Adobe InDesign tell me the percentage of color used on a document?

I'm used to seeing digital printers charge based on color vs. black per page, but never by coverage, but then you used to be able to buy software instead of renting it, so times change.
It's pretty common for files with Black ink only to really have some color on them -- printers marks, for example, or they go through a profile conversion and print as rich black.

Hi Neil,
In the config UI, you can change the "Row Background Style" for the Table Collection Renderer. Typically, you would duplicate the ConsumerTableCollectionRenderer and make your custom settings to the copy. Make sure to click "Show Advanced Options" to see this property. This does not let you explicitly set the color, but allows you to choose the coloring schme. To change the colors, you would need to change them for all tables. Alternatively, you could also change the iView background. It is also possible to change the "Column Header Coloring", but I think this only affects lists, I do not think it affects the table collection renderer, but you might try it. If you just want to just play around, you can set the rendering properties in the Presentation page in Details for an individual folder. This is generally the quickest way to figure out what to set to achieve what you want. I know I am missing some of the specifics you asked, but you should find those answers in the normal documentation. I just wanted to let you know that you could change the scheme - where you have alternating, separator lines, etc.
