Colorware Macbook - alternative for the UK?

Hi,
I was looking on http://www.colorwarepc.com/products/select_macbook.aspx which i saw in another post and thought i would really like a red macbook!lol. problem is, colorware only ship new units internationally so their after sales service is for the US only.
I was wondering if anyone has had a similar thing done in the UK and how it turned out?
Thanks!

As far as I know there is no one in Europe who does similar work to teh same extent or quality s colorware. In fact, I think I have read about corporations in Europe actually placing special orders with colorware in the States to get teh custom product because there were not other options. I'll bet they had to pay a heck of a premium for that.

    1) Copy all music files to a thumb drive / external hard drive.
    2) Open iTunes on your MacBook Pro (congrats!)
    3) Under the File Menu, select "Add to Library."  Navigate to the folder with your music in it and click "Open."  Bam!  Music.

  • Buying a Macbook pro for the first time and i need your opinion

Hello everyone! I'm buying a Macbook pro for the first time and i need your opinion. I'm a Web Developer / Graphic Designer, and i need this macbook for my work. Currently i have these 2 options:
    1) Macbook Pro with Retina (13")
    128GB SSD, 2.5GHz Intel i5 Processor, 8GB Ram
    2) Macbook Pro i7 (15")
    Intel  i7 2.6 Processor, 8GB Ram, 750GB HD
So my dilema is. Do i go for the newest 13" Macbook Pro Retina & SSD drive or do i go for the 15" Macbook Pro i7 non-Retina, non-SSD hard drive?

    Your 2nd choice
    2) Macbook Pro i7 (15")
    Intel  i7 2.6 Processor, 8GB Ram, 750GB HD
is user upgradable. The Retina is not.
No matter what for your needs I would max out the 16GB of RAM

  • I turned on my Macbook pro for the first time and the mouse is frozen

I turned on my Macbook pro for the first time and the mouse is frozen since the first screen. I did the start up, but using the comands on the keyboard. I think the laptop is configured to blind people. I just got at the desktop, but the mouse is frozen.

If this is a new machine, you have 14 days to return the machine for an exchange or a full refund. Your trackpad should work out of the box and what you're seeing onscreen may very well be settings for the partially sighted.

When I open my MacBook Pro for the first time each day, I find condensation on the glass.  What can I do to prevent the condensation?

This thread and all the followups are hilarious, if it weren't such a serious problem. OP, you may want to add a bit more information on how this drippy screen problem occurs: where do you live, what are the weather conditions, what are you doing with the Mac when it occurs, etc.
Yes, extreme moisture, to the extent of causing visible condensation, is Very Bad News for any electronic device, and more so with one that isn't tropicalized like the Mac. Besides trying to avoid subjecting it to such extreme temperature changes, using some kind of desiccant to absorb close range moisture and avoidint its use until it dried out, I can suggest placing some kind of absorbent material between the display and the keyboard to prevent the moisture on the glass from finding its way into the computer. Like the protective poliethylene foam protector that came with the Mac when new. Or something like RadTech's ScreenSavrz: http://www.radtech.us/Products/NotebookScreenSavrz.aspx

  • Can I exchange my macbook air for the new pro?

I recently bought a haswell series 13" macbook air exactly 1 week before the introduction of the new haswell macbook pros.  After considering the spec and price difference I realized I'd rather have the pro. I looked on the returns tab on the website.  It said I can return my product within 14 days. Is it possible for me to exchange my air for the pro without having to go through returning my macbook air and buying the pro?  I realized the price difference wasn't all that differernt and I wouldn't mind the extra power. I currently have the 13" macbook air i5 with 8gb. I plan on getting the 8gb for the 13" retina display macbook pro as well

I strongly doubt it. The best thing for you to do is to return this one before the 14 days expire. If the time passes you will have to keep the Air and try to sell it privately.
Once Apple accepts the Air back and you know you are getting a refund you can start the order process for the Pro.

    On your Mac (FaceTime Preferences):
Your AppleIDs for both need to be identical, and both using the same WiFi network.

  • Should I exchange my new MacBook Pro for the newer MacBook Pro?

I have just recently purchased a 15" MacBook Pro. Well...4 days later I receive an email letting me know that they have just improved the processor and battery life of the 15" and 17" MacBook Pro. I called to complain that I had just purchased the computer and now the upgraded one is available. It has not been 14 days so I can exchange it, but will have to pay the 10 percent restocking fee which is about $210 dollars, My question to this forum is whether or not I should return the computer for the upgraded one? I think yes, but would appreciate all of your input.

As hard a pill as it is to swallow now, if it was me, I would pay the restocking fee and pick up either the faster i5 or the i7 version. Chances are either will outperform the 'old' machine you bought and in a year you won't even think about it, just be happy with the newer technology that includes hyper-threading and power boost. If your new machine isn't very busy, the turbo boost will take it to significantly higher clock speeds, and when it's quite busy, the hyper-threading will help you cope with the load. Win-win and sure Apple gets another $210 but will have to sell it as refurbished I would think so it's very fair.

  • My 2013 Macbook Air can't find my HPDeskjet 3050 printer. It worked fine before I took the Macbook away for the summer. What's wrong?

My 2013 Macbook Air can't find my HPDeskjet 3054 wireless printer. They worked fine together before I took the MB away from the printer for the summer. I have tried reinstalling the HP software and a bunch of other things that didn't work. The printer shows up as its own wireless network in the list of networks, but then I have to disconnect from my home network and I lose internet connectivity. What's up?

    It shouldn't.

  • Should i wait with buying a macbook pro for the mac os x lion software?

    Hi there,
I've been saving up some money to buy myself a MacBook Pro 13", but I've been told to wait for the new lion upgrade.
It's not that I need the macbook right now, I mean, I can wait, but I don't want to wait for a system that's not refined yet.
I'm afraid the system might have bugs or issues or things...
So my question: should I wait till June/July with buying, or buy one now and have a good working system?
And do any of you guys know whether there'll be some kind of a grace period where they give you the new upgrade for free?
    Thanks in advance!

My take is to buy it when you need it. If that's now then buy it now. You can always upgrade to Lion when it comes out.

  • Is the refurbished macbook qualified for the back to school event?

I'm a college student and want to buy a refurbished macbook online. Can I get the $100 gift card for the event of back to school? Thank you very much.

We're just users here - only Apple can tell you. The gift card is only good through the 21st, I believe. Try calling Apple at 1-800-MYAPPLE. They should have the info that you're seeking.
    Good luck,

  • Alternative for the program Switch

First I apologize if this should be in the Audio forum, but I couldn't find something related there
I'm using Switch to convert many files from VBR to CBR. But I think it's a bit too slow in doing it's job, I've used other converters on Windows which work over 5 times faster (this was on the same Macbook Pro)
So is there a similar program? I do like the convenience of just dragging the files in the Switch window, so I'm also looking for the same user friendliness
    Thanks!

You don't mention the format of the files you're converting, but these programs might be useful:
