Colour changed after layer merge or layer flatten

Hi All,
After making several adjustment layers, the layer merge is performed. However, it is observed that the colour changed after layer merging. It is confirmed with the histogram. This phenomenon also happens in layer flatten. Any solution?

Not sure if this is related, but a previous post had color shift when he converted from RGB to any other profile and then back to RGB. Figured it was a rendering problem. Although he had latest video drivers he went back to previous one and solved the problem.
By any chance did this start after a driver upgrade?

On Mac. Colours changed after switching to 64bit mode (ver 2.7)

Been using Lightroom 2.7 on my iMac quite happily and after reading a few articles realised it wasn't running in 64bit so changed it.
Now colours are all out, most noticeable on reds:

Any ideas why this is happening?
Tried changing back to 32bit and still the same so something has changed.

P.S Posted this on another forum and just to clarify here also, whilst the above are exported jpegs, these are used purely for illustration. The colour change is happening within lightroom itself, not on export.

After some advice elsewhere it seems I have 'lost' some of the camera calibration profiles.
I only have ACR3.1 and ACR4.4 listed and checked on another machine I used I normally have it set to Adobe Standard.
So, how can I get the profiles back?
OK. Problem solved. Reinstalled Lightroom.

RGB Colour change after save for web.

I recently had a folder full of images that I cut out and placed on a grey #e9e9e9 background, after using adobe photoshops Save for web feature, I saved them as 356 colour gif files. However when Ive uploaded them to the web I notice the grey #e9e9e9 was ever so slighty different. when I reopened the images in .gif files in photoshop, the grey background was no longer #e9e9e9 but #eaeaea. Im slighty confused as to why this has happened, and is there anyway of correcting this?

In my tests Selective preserves larger gray
areas e9e9e9 (233 233 233). I think there is no
guarantee, except for web-safe colors (which are
otherwise quite useless nowadays).

Is there a way to change the text in a single data merge field to two separate colours?
ie a script of some sort?

You could run a GREP find/change after the merge to get rid of any extras. This will find any duplicate comma-space sets and replace them with one comma followed by one space.

Is it possible to change the color of a layer of a Customs CSS from an External Style sheet?

I have sucessfully link External .css file to my HTML page and able to change the font size of the headlines and the paragraph.
What I am not able to do is to ADD the color my Custom CSS from the External sheet. I have difined the color attribute as a 'Advance'
and gave it the same name "#bigwraper" that is has in my HTML file.

I am building a web site on which the entire content would be changed at least daily. The website would have similar design to www.Helium.com
The page will have CCS layout boxes in which different content would be pasted.
To re-phrase my question: I want to know how to change the color of a layer from an external style sheet?
Because my home page 'Sidebar' and colors would be the same for all page, only the content of different pages would be different. If I want to change a color of my web side pages, I need to learn how to do it in one spot through an External Style Sheet.
I am amble to link my external style sheet and to change H1 tag and to give it different colors. But I was not sucess with change the color of a layer on which my content sits around.
I took out the color from my HTML page and gave the same name to the layer in my External Style Sheet with the same color.
Hope my question and the reason I was able to clarify.

Looks like the presentation column got Alias before your BMM changes, so in your case renaming logical column and deleting alias is not good to go.

Can one choose the automatic colour change to an htnl link after using it to make it more obviously changed (currently two similar shades of blue)

having performed a search and visited a paticular web page produced by that search, the colour of the link changes and if found again in another search you know it has already been visited.

Can this colour change be edited to something much more easily recognised?

I had the same issue and resolved it
I first remove the prefs folder and the plist files for illustrator in ~/Libary
next I logged off,
then I uninstalled illustrator using the adobe uninstaller(http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html)
Next I reinstall illstrator
after that it worked for me.

Have you tried resetting Preferences?
A logical next step would be to reset your Preferences.
To reset Preferences:
If Photoshop is already open on your screen, close it (Quit). Then hold down Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) on your keyboard and start Photoshop.
A dialog box will pop up asking if you want to delete the existing Preferences file (the "Settings"). Click Yes in the dialog box. The existing Preferences file will be scrapped and a new one will be created.

Changing SG300 from Layer 3 to Layer 2

Will changing an SG300 switch from Layer 3 to Layer 2 cause any significant user downtime, or any at all? I have two 52-port SG300's and two 20-port SG300's to make this change to.

NOTE Switching from one system mode (layer) to another (on Sx500 devices) requires a
mandatory reboot, and the startup configuration of the device is then deleted.
So, you will want to backup you config, do this in a scheduled maintenance interval and reload the config by hand.
Also realize there may be L3 commands in your config that will not apply in L2 mode.

QR Data Merge - colour change

I'm using the new QR data merge function but I need the QR codes to be blue not black.
I have contacted Adobe and their useless suggestion was to use the "edit QR code" menu option.
This isn't ideal for several thousand posters. It seems like a pretty obvious requirement, I hope they fix this oversight soon.
Does everyone have ideas about how I can change the colour change to the QR codes in bulk?

Create 1 QR code and recolour it.
Save it as an object style.
Then apply it to the data merge area for the QR code.
Hope that works - I've never tried it, just an idea off the top of my head.

Change fonts of photoshop text layer via panel developed by Flex Builder

I am developing photoshop cs5 plugin which will change font family of text layer. Changeing system font is ok but my embedded font is not loading on text layer.
syntax used to change font on text layer.
var AD = activeDocument;
AD.activeLayer.textItem.font="Verdana";
I have few webfonts on my local drive. how can i use this font so that it can reflect on text layer in runtime with out installing manually in system font.
In developed panel, embedded fonts are rendering but I need to change font of text layer on clicking fonts list from panel.
Does anyone have any idea on it? Please help me.

Hi there,
Merge Down combines the layer below the currently selected layer and the selected layer together into one singular layer. The layer name will change to the name of the layer below the selected layer. In the screenshot below, I chose to Merge Down from the layer "Circle Top". As you can see, afterward I have a new layer named "Circle Below" that has both layers combined.
Merge Visible will merge all visible layers into one singular layer. Merge Visible will ignore any layer that has it's visibility toggled to "Off". In the example below, I have 4 layers, with the layer "Circle Below"'s visibilty set to "Off". After I choose Merge Visible, all of the layers are combined excluding "Circle Below".
Flatten Image will combine all of the layers into one "flattened" image or layer. You will be prompted to choose whether or not to discard hidden layers before doing so. If you choose "Ok" to discard hidden layers, Photoshop will ignore any layer with it's visibility toggled to "Off". If you choose "Cancel", Photoshop will cancel the flattening process. If you want the hidden layer included in the flattened image, you will have to toggle it's visibility to "On". The following screenshot is what a flattened image's layer pallete looks like:

LAyer 3 to Layer 3 LWAPP Transport mode

Has anyone moved from layer 2 to Layer 3 transport mode?
I want to see if it is easy as changing the transport mode on the 4124 controller and assigning an IP address to the AP.

Pretty much it's that easy. You will also have a new interface on the controller after it reboots. The interface will be an AP-Manager. You need to assign this interface an address in the same subnet as the Management interface. After that, you will also need to either set an IP address on the AP's and specify the system name of the primary controller, or setup a DHCP scope for them, and specify the Option 43/60 so the AP can find the controller.

Background colour change

How to change a background colour leaving the two figures in the centre intact?

Without seeing the image it's hard to make suggestions. Even then, there will likely be a gazillion different ways of changing the color of the background. Are you familiar with adjustment layers? Masks? Making selections? Layer blending modes? I recommend searching around on the internet for some tutorials of these very basic Photoshop functions. They're the foundation of everything you do in PS.
It could be as easy as creating a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer, moving the hue to something you like, then use the mask to remove what you don't want changed (sometimes it's easier to mask everything and then just add where you want the color changed on the mask). For other changes you may get the results you want using a fill layer with a layer blending mode.

Colour change problem

I have a layered .psd file with a cream background ( FFFDEB ) but after I save to web the cream colour has slightly changed ( FFFDEC ). The difference can be seen on web pages with FFFDEB background. I have previously created images which have saved correctly, so it can be done.
.psd file is 8bit, RGB image. Cinema HD display was set to Cinema HD profile....I have changed this to sRGB IEC61966-2.1 but it appears to have made no difference. PhotoShop color settings at Europe General Purpose 2 but I have tried North America General Purpose 2.
Please can you help?

The problem is PhotoShop and not web problem
I am just trying to help you understand what may be going on there -- Photoshop is a colormanaged app that Converts to Monitor RGB. Unmanaged apps on a Mac, including Dreamweaver, (for practical explanation) assume/apply/assign Monitor RGB which may explain the difference you are seeing.

Dreamweaver page with FFFDEB background colour.
I am pretty sure Dreamweaver doesn't honor profiles and convert to Monitor RGB so Dreamweaver is more likely assuming/assigning/applying Monitor RGB to your graphic and page background colors when it displays them on a Mac monitor (exactly as an unmanaged Mac web browser).
This would be very easy to validate in Photoshop:
1) Open your original .psd in Photoshop, flatten it, Convert to 8-bit sRGB
2) Check the RGB values, then
3) View> Proof SetUp> Monitor RGB should duplicate what Dreamweaver is showing.
Bottom line is get your profiles in order and learn how the Mac OS and Photoshop deal with tagged and untagged color.
