Colour changing text?

Hi,
We have a design in CS3 that uses a graduation within a couple of areas of text, all the other text is white on a black background. When the file is printed some of the white text comes out orange. We cut and paste, reset up the file.. outlined the problematic text.. brought it in from a new document, and it still prints incorrectly. (All PDF's fine)
The only way we've found of solving it, is to lose the grad and make all the text white.
Then out line the graduated text from a previous version and bring it back in...
Is there a known issue with graduation fills to type in CS3?

Have you tried to move the problematic text to its own layer?

  • How do I change the colour of text in a cell in a JTable?

    I am trying to change the color of the text in a single cell in a JTable. I have tried not adding a cell renderer and it changes the colour of text in all cells.
    I have tried adding a cell renderer to the table and it does the same ie all cells text colour changes.
    I am able to add a cell renderer to a column and it changes all the cells in the column.
    I cannot figure out how to change just one single cell's text colour without effecting the other cells.

    Ok, so if i create my own cell renderer do I set it as the default renderer for the whole table i.e.
    table.setDefaultRenderer(MyCellRenderer, renderer);
    Does this set one cell renderer for the whole table or is there an individual one for each cell?

  • How do I change Text Colour in a Spreadsheet?  The Help menu doesn't help.

    Simple question whcih i cannot find the simple answer to:  How do I change Text Colour in a Spreadsheet?  The Help menu doesn't help.

    Hi Lecia,
    You have several choices.
    Use the first set of controls in the Format Bar. One of these is a Color well (red in the image). Select the cell(s) in which you want the text coloured, then click the well to open its Color palette, and choose your colour.
    Use the Text Inspector. Open the inspector, click the Text button (T), and use the tools there (similar to the set in the Format Bar).
    Press command-T to open the Fonts Window. This offers a few more options than are available in the Inspector or the Format bar.
    Regarding "Help": I'd recommend using the Numbers '09 User Guide, which you can download via the Help menu. Easier to search, and easier reading than the individual Help articles. search 'text color' to quickly get to instructions on applying colour to text.

  • How to change the colour of text property in Radio button?

    Hello All,
    I am having some radio buttons in my application. i want to change the colour of text property by default it is black.
    Could any one please suggest me how to do it?
    Thanks in advance.

    Currently you cannot, it is a known (and hopefully reported, and at least addressed for next version) bug (or limitation, as they rushed to get the components out before JavaOne...).
    People reported they just put an empty text and put a label beside the component. Ugly workaround (bad when the component will be complete) but if it works... :-)

  • Text Colour Changed when rectangle overlaps

    Hi,
    I need tips to change text colour in a paragraph when 2 rectangles ovelaps. Basically all texts in the paragraph is filled with black colour. 2 rectangles are placed below the text as background. One of the retangles is filled in dark blue and the other one is filled with yellow. How do I change some of the texts to white colour when dark blue rectangle touches them so that they will look noticeable? Thanks in advance.

    David,
    Here is an illustration of the instructions in post #2:
    1) Create a copy of the Type in the back, but still over the dark blue rectangle, and change the Fill to white;
    2)  Create a copy of the dark blue rectangle, change the Fill to white, and  move it on top of the original black type (stacking order);
    3)  Select the (now) white rectangle and the original black Type and  Transparency>Opacity Mask>Make, ticking Invert Mask, but not Clip  (unless this has changed in later versions, of course),
    a) With the  basic parts,
    b) With the copies in 1) and 2) added,
    c) With all the parts shown displaced to reveal the stacking order and to point out the two copies to be subject to the Opacity mask in 3),
    d) Final appearance:
    Remember: This is only one of the possible answers provided by members of the association.
    Edit: I hope it is not too clownish to show a white rectangle on a white background; only the OP and OP follow up posts have a different colour.
    Edit Edit: It is less clownish to add a grey background.

  • Changing text colour in Pages for ios...button missing

    I'm trying to find a way to change text colour in a document, -all available information states that there is a button, with an i on it (info button) to adjust settings such as font colour, that button is mysteriously absent for me.
    The toolbar would need to look like the screenshots in this article for me to follow the instructions to format text colour: http://www.topappreviews101.com/pages-ipad-app-5.html
    My buttons look like the ones in the screenshot here: http://www.ipadou.com/nouveautes-des-applications-apple-apres-la-keynote
    I do have various formatting option with the buttons I have on mine, but not any that will allow me to format the text colour i.e the instructions available to me tell me to press a nonexistent button.
    am I going mad/has something recently change/is there anything I can do about it?!
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    I could not get your links to show me what you were looking for, but I just opened pages and figured out how to change font color.   I am using the most current version of pages for its, so I don't know if this works on older versions.
    If I screw the instructions up, simply open a document in pages, touch the wrench then help, and search for color.  Then look in the style section.
    Anyway.   Highlight the text you want to be in a different color.  Touch the paintbrush looking icon in the tool bar.  The touch style.  Then touch the name of the font. ( or change the font). A color setting will appear.  Pick what you want.

  • How do I change the colour of text in a JTextArea?

    I was wondering if there is a method I could use to change certain parts of the text in a JTextArea to a different color, eg if you wished to highlight HTML tags in the source code, so they stand out from the rest of the text.
    cheerz

    Try this...
      // create text area
      JTextArea textArea = new JTextArea();
      // change text color to blue
      textArea.setForeground(Color.blue);
      // change background color to black
      textArea.setBackground(Color.black);

  • Global colour changes

    Hi,
    I saw a tip for changing text attributes across multiple Text layers by linking them, then holding shift on any one of the linked layers to apply the attributes (colour, font, size) to all.
    However this doesn't work for me in CS6, and was wondering if it's outdated? It would be a great way of making quick changes without having to search every layer and making sure each one is selected.
    Many thanks

    With Photoshop CC, try this:
    Link your layers.
    Then when you want to change all the color at the same time, right-click one of the linked layers and choose Select Linked Layers.
    Voila, now they're all selected together and you can change the color.

  • Choosing colours for text.

    A friend of mine, who uses Windows, replies to my emails by inserting text coloured red, into my original message. It is a terrific idea, so I went looking for instructions on how to do it with Mac.
    I'd also like to be able to highlight passages in new emails I write, by colouring the text.
    I found a Mac. instruction entitled "Choosing colours for text and objects". Unfortunately, it suffers from the common Mac. problem of being written by a geek, who assumes that the reader knows what he knows and fails to adequately define the method and also fails to describe how it works. Here is the offending passage:
    Select the text or object whose color you want to change and open the Colors panel.
    "Select the text" is the bit where the writer failed.
    * The method of selecting the text is not given.
    * No insight is given as to how it works.
    ** Can a new email be set up so as to type it in red?
    ** Or is the method to type it, THEN change it to red?
    ** If the latter is the case, how can I reply as described above, by inserting passages into a received email?
    ** Also, how can I highlight a passage in a new email, by using red font?
    I should be most grateful, if someone who understands how the system works, would teach me how to achieve what I have described above.
    Incidentally and in fairness, the Colours panel part of the instruction is clearly written and I don't need any help with that.

    "Select the text" is the bit where the writer failed.
    The method of selecting the text is not given.
    That's a standard OS thing... just click and drag over the text you want to select.
    Double-click to select a word. Triple-click to select a paragraph.
    Can a new email be set up so as to type it in red?
    Or is the method to type it, THEN change it to red?
    Again, this follows the standard UI rules, namely:
    1) If there is something selected, change that (i.e. if you have some text selected and you choose red in the color palette, the selected text goes red.
    2) If nothing is selected, use the chosen color from this point on (i.e. the next characters you type will be in the chosen color).
    Note that color (and font) selections are position-dependent. That is if you type two paragraphs, then set the second one to red (by selecting it), the first one doesn't change. Additionally if you click back in the first paragraph you'll continue to type in the default font/color, not red, because that is what the first paragraph was written in. Hope that makes sense.

  • Can't change text once I've finalized it!

    I've been using Photoshop for years, so I know all the basics.  And I've never run into this before.  I created a document with text boxes and images.  Everything was fine to that point.  But when I went back to re-word the text boxes and change text color, I could not do it.  I tried everything:  be sure that layer is selected, be sure I have the type tool enabled, and click somewhere in the existing text.
    Nothing doing.  No matter what I did, it insisted on starting a new text layer.  I could not access the text itself to change it.
    I could transform it or move it but it will not let me change the text itself or the text color.
    I'm using the PS cloud version and running Windows 7.
    I ran into this a few weeks ago, and rebooting my computer solved the problem -- or so I thought.  Apparently it didn't solve it permanently.
    Help, please!  This was due yesterday and my client is understandably not amused.
    Thanks.

    Now I can change text in any text box except the one titled "spinetext", which is highlighted in the layers panel.  Obviously I'm doing something wrong, but I've designed a lot of these covers, and never had trouble changing the spine text before.
    I finally had to recreate that layer in a new document and import it into this one -- but the text remains unchangeable in this layer.
    (For what it's worth, "Layer 1" is the template, which I turn off when I have inserted all the elements, so it has nothing to do with this layer.)
    Thanks for your help!

    Why am I unable to change text color from black in LR5 Book Module?

    I'm assuming you clicked on the color patch besides the word <Character> to open the color picker window.
    At the right side of this window there is a vertical bar that has 2 horizontal black lines at the bottom.
    This is actually a slider. Pull it upwards with the color picker and color will appear in the window.

    Hello,
    I'm new here, so please excuse me if I do or say something I shouldn't.
    I need to change the words in a musical score because the font is too small. OCR recognition doesn"t work because there are illustrations that are different from images or text... Is there a way to get in there and make the changes I need to do?
    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Do you still have all toolbars visible (View > Toolbars)?
    Did you use an extension or the standard zoom buttons that you can find in the toolbar palette in the View > Toolbars > Customize window ?
    Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
