Colour Correction Can Anyone Help?

Hi,
Not sure if anyone will be able to offer any advice on this.
Am in the process of editing some footage. One of the actors is wearing black sunglasses, and yes, in the close ups of his face you can clearly see the two cameraman, lights, make up artist etc. It wasn't that noticeable until I put it full screen. What I want to know is, is there anyway I can do something like bringing up the blacks to make his sunglasses completely black. I have tried to do this with colour corrector 3 way, but of course it affected the whole picture, and I don't know how to just isolate the sunglasses. Any help would be appreciated!! Thank you in advance.

Hi, welcome to the forums,
yes, especially if the talent doesn't move much this could be done fairly easily using a 4 point garbage matte to duplicate and isolate the offended area then apply a filter like 3 Way CC to the duplicated image with garbage matte to darken the reflection.
Duplicate your clip (lets assume it is in V1)>place it in the track above (V2), this can be done by holding Shift+Alt and drag clip from V1 to V2> apply 4 point garbage matte (FCP effects tab>Matte)> select a glass by dragging the four corners of the matte inwards , feather the selection a bit (parameter available with 4 point garbage filter). Apply finally a filter to darken the glass (you could blur it a wee bit too then repeat for the other glass.
If you get stuck send me five seconds and I'll send back an "how to do it" sample.
