Colour printer only printing in black and white

I have recently changed over from a G5 power mac running OS leopard 10.5.8 to a G5 intel mac pro running OS mountain lion. I now find that that my hp business printer 1200 will only print in black and white. I have downloaded the latest driver but still no joy. Please can anyone help.

I afraid your printer is no longer supported on Mac OS X v10.6 or above, the latest driver listed on the HP site is intended for 10.5:

You may try installing the 3rd party HPIJS print drivers which seems to support your printer, be sure to install any of the 3 required downloads and follow the Printer Set Up Instructions:

Hi - really hoping somone can help..! Just updated all three Macs to new OSX Mavericks and now both HP printers 940c and 5510c both only print in black and white. Need to get them working in colour for my daughters school homework!!
Have seen all the forums saying look at printer settings, but none of the settings have the old OSX options turning black and white and colour on and off. It appears the drivers that were on the previous Mac software have been deleted or turned off by Apple..? WHY!! I wish I had not updated any of the Macs if I'd known I'd lose printing functionality!!!
Seems HP no longer provide drivers for these printers that are over 5 years old. Trouble is I've got hundreds of pounds worth of colour cartirdges already bought for them that I thought I'd use!!!!!!!!! Maybe I need to go back to a PC as at least you can print things!!! ;-)

Artwork only displays in black and white when adding to a song

Artwork when importing JPG only shows in black and white. Old artwork is OK in colour previously imported. Note these are for non-ITunes store purchased.

You might want to set WMP options before you let it loose on your itunes content.
It doesn't matter if you never use WMP - its default settings allow webpages to open WMP in the background without you even knowing, and get info from the internet.
You need to turn this auto-update "feature" off in WMP in 4 places.
Player tab: everything unchecked so WMP won't touch your files
Library tab: everything unchecked, esp the box to retrieve info from the internet
Privacy tab: everything unchecked, esp the box to update files
Security tab: everything unchecked so web pages can't launch WMP in the background
You also need to check these 4 settings after every windows update that includes a WMP update, because it has reset them back to some of the defaults, I have noticed.

Mini DV to Video only shows in black and white

I bought a mini dv to video from an apple shop so that i could watch films on my tv. I connected it to my tv at home and it worked perfectly, but when i try to connect it to my parents tv it only shows in black and white... both tvs are of roughly the same age...I'm connecting the yellow wire to the scart on the back of the tv to the yellow socket on the adapter
how come it works on one tv and not the other one?

When you press the INPUT button on the remote to cycle through the inputs, is "ColorStream HD" listed? Is "Video" listed?
The Xbox is connected using 5 cables, correct? Red, blue, green, white, and red?

My DVD player only plays in black and white

Just got a new Toshiba HDTV (model no. 39L1350U) and am trying to hook up the DVD player. Got sound, but it only shows a black and white picture. The only way I get any picture at all is by plugging the yellow of the standard AV cable into the green jack. I know this is not right, but don't know where to plug in the yellow connection since there is no yellow jack on the back of the TV. Am I going to need a different cable? My DVD player is an old Sony.

My DVR670KU is about six year's old now. Been getting only a black/white picture. Was using and S-Video connecting cable to the TV. When I connected using an HDMI cable, now have the color again. Believe the S-Video cable failed/went bad. Was previously getting color from it though.

Triple click the home button to switch of the greyscale feature.
Turn Greyscale on or off. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Gtreyscale. Or, use the Accessibility Shortcut. See Accessibility Shortcut on page 139.

Films only showing in black and white

hi,
I've just got the Iphone and when I try and watch a film from Itunes through my tv using the AV composite cable it will only show in black and white. The cable is new and when I've tried it with my 5th gen Ipod it works fine. I've checked the connections and everything seems to be hooked up OK. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

When installing the new cartridges, did you get the message "Original HP cartridges have been installed"?
Can you check the ink levels and actually see the been color displayed?

My iPod connects to my TV just fine, but it only plays in black and white,

i can connect it and get it to play videos, but it will only play in black and white. i know the videos are color, but none is coming up. any ideas on problems or ways to fix it?

So just the three RCA jack type, one side into your iPod's headphone jack and then Video and L&R Audio RCA plugs at the other end?
Did you check your iPod's video settings to make sure you are not sending out PAL when you want NTSC or sending out NTSC when you want PAL?

WII and VCR will only show in black and white.

While in WII or VCR mode, the video only appears as black and white. Any suggestions?

You might want to try this as well.
1 From the Preferences menu, highlight AV Input.
2 Press left or right to select your desired setting.
so if your using a composite cable, then you have to switch AV Input to VIDEO then if you are using component then you have to switch back to COLOR STREAM

Toshiba 40E220U - Only shows in black and white

I purchased a Toshiba 40E220U a few weeks ago and tried using it with my Xbox and it will only show in black and white. The Xbox has all the updated cabling (red, blue, green instead of the red, white, yellow combination). I can't seem to figure out what I am doing wrong and why it won't show in color. Any one have any suggestions?

32L1400U TV only shows in black and white !

Model 32l1400U is 4 months old and is only used as a TV ( no games , DVD player are hooked up )
it only shows in Black and White
i looked thur the menu and see no option for black and white !

How do i get Firefox to print web pages in black and white only (colors are interpreted in grayscale and some are too light to be read)?

i have a black and white laser printer. Firefox prints web pages by sending color images to my printer. The printer uses greyscale to interpret the colors. i really want Firefox to send black and white images to my printer, because with greyscale some of the colors are translated to print that is too light to be seen clearly.
Can this be done?

i just tried disabling adblock and checking if i had any no script or noscript sort of addon. i do not have a script killer. disabling adblock did not solve the issue.

How to get AirPrint on iOS to print color documents in black and white?

I use iOS 6.0.1 and I use AirPrint on my iphone4s to print documents wirelessly to my printer. The problem is that if the document that I am printing has ANY color on it at all, the printer will print that part in color. Sometimes I actually want the document in black and white only. But AirPrint doesn't give us the option to do this , like OS X for Mac does.
Color ink is way too expensive to just be using "willy-nilly".
Apple , give us a black and white option on AirPrint !

It might be a problem with your printer's color profile. Did you try to set the color profile in the print dialogue to "black and white" (choose: "more options" in the print panel) ?

Credit card statement printing in color when black and white chosen. Wasting INK! Not a printer problem.

I have tried to print my business cc statement 3 times and even though I have my printer default to black and white and I verified that in the print dialog box it still printed in color three times. I called printer company - no problems with that....I called cc company to see if they had a special down load issue - not problems with that. They open in Adobe as a pdf so it must be that. I saved it and tried to print it and it DID print correctly then. But, I do not want to have to save the statement each time. I have never had this issue before. Printer is only a couple months old. Programs are all up to date.

It seems to be happening only in Google Chrome. And it has happened with other sites, too, when downloading something to print. I attached a screen shot. As you can see, it shows black and white for printing but it still printed in color.
Are there setting in Chrome that I can't seem to find? Thanks for your input.
