Coloured boxes suddenly appeared over photos

I have been using lightroom for quite awhile now and never occurred a similar problem..
I was using lightroom3 today when all of the suddenly some of my pictures (far away from all) got like a coloured box on top of them.. I have attached a photo since it's a little hard to explain. Please notice that a very small part of all of the pictures is still as normal and the colour box seems to somewhat match the colours of the specific photos.. This is not a recently uploaded catalog and it has always worked fine. The weird thing is that even the original photos in My Documents look the same when previewed in the folder.. However- The exact photos look perfectly normal when opened with Microsoft's Picture Manager.
Do you guys pls have any idea about what can be wrong?

Select one of those images and go to the Develop Module. Is it OK there?
For that matter, how does it look in the Loupe, when you double-click on the thumbnail in Grid view?
I'm thinking that your preview cache has been corrupted somehow.

  • The apple coloured ball keeps appearing in photo elements 13 but not in any other programme. I have the latest IMac with plenty storage and ram

The apple coloured ball keeps appearing in photo elements 13 but not in any other programme including premier elements and organiser. I have the latest IMac  with ample storage and ram

I believe I have solved the problem.  I have 16mb ram so I went into photo
preferences and raised to 75% what is available for photo
I also reduced the cache from 6 to 2.  The last two sessions the coloured
ball has not appeared.  Hope this might be usefull  to others

  • How do I remove the black box that appears over images in Aperture?

I may have engaged a shortcut in Aperture but I would like to remove this function. How do I remove the black box that appears over images in Aperture? It gives you the image name, camera make and so on. It only appears when you use your mouse and let go of it over an image.

  • Captions appearing over photo in Develop?

For some reason, the photo captions have started appearing in quite large font over the top left of the photo in Develop. How do I remove them? And why did they suddenly appear? (the answer to the first will probably answer the second).Thanks.

Use the "I" key to cycle through the view options (there are three modes: Info Overlay 1, Info Overlay 2, and Off).

  • Turn off metadata display box when mousing over photos?

When mousing over photos in the viewer or browser, a box pops up next to the cursor showing metadata. I find this very distracting and annoying when editing a photo or confirming faces. In Aperture 2, you could turn it off under preferences, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to turn it off in Aperture 3 (metadata has a separate tab rather than controlling the viewing of metadata under preferences in A2). Hitting the letters Y and U work in the viewer and browser, respectively, but only for one photo - doesn't stop it for good. I've tried messing around with all the other metadata view settings. Any ideas?

Hitting the letter T toggles the display, you can adjust this setting with Command -J.

  • Can't get title and time/date from appearing over photo in Develop or Library

I must have done this when I was trying to do some other keyboard shortcut and got the wrong one - and now I can't figure out how to get rid of it. But a few weeks ago, I did something and now the file name, date/time and image size appear in white text over the top-left of any photo I have in the Develop or Library screens:
So you can see "_MG_0955.CR2" and the other details in the clouds there. Does anyone know how to get rid of that? I can't find anything in any of the menus. I'm on Lightroom 4.3 for Mac OSX Mountain Lion.
    Thanks!

Ltter I on you keyboard cycles through the info of the Loupe View (same in Develop Module).
You set what you want to see by pressing Cmd. + J - and select the parameters for Info 1 and Info2.
    Letter I cycles thus: Info 1 - Info 2 - No overlay.

  • Drop Shadow is Causing a Colour Box to Appear Upon Print

I am in the midst of creating a brochure which I am wanting ot use some drop shadows on to create separation between colours.
I have noticed that in the three locations that i've used drop shadows (one is a white square shape, one is on font, and one is on a graphic with a transparent background) there is a light, almost transparent, box that is appearing upon print.  This box does not show up in any way on the .pdf, but appears when printed.
Is this an issue with my printer, or am I somehow causing an error with my drop shadow settings?

Sounds like it might be this: InDesignSecrets » Blog Archive » Eliminating YDB (Yucky Discolored Box) Syndrome

  • White box keeps appearing over list items in design view, I want to know why ?

In my footer area, I have 4 vertical lists that act as my sitemap links, but when I hover over them in design view the entire list gets replaced with a white box and then when I move my mouse away the white box disapears and the list shows again. This does not happen in live view but I would like to know why it does that, or if this will happen when the site goes live, or it just a design view bug.
    thank you for any help

  • Unwanted Information Box suddenly appears On-Screen

Without doing anything different, I now have a small, expandable box on screen that's completely independent of any App.
I don;t know how it got there and I cannot close it.
It will expand, and I can move it anywhere on my screen. Inside is text explaining where I am and what I'm doing...almost like some kind of help monitor.
What is it and how do I get rid of it?
I've never had it before and have NO IDEA where it came from.

Turn off VoiceOver in the Universal Access or Accessibility pane of System Preferences.

A new tab has suddenly appears over my home page when I go online. I don't know where this came from; is it a Mozilla Firefox thing? Even worse, when I try to print from internet, this page appears instead of my printer box and I am unable to print what I want.

You may have an unwanted extension that is modifying sites (or the toolbar area). Try this:
Disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
    Does that flush the tab?
Please report back on anything suspicious you find so others can learn about its bad behavior.

Faint black lines/boxes suddenly appear and now all text and major sections of screen are surrounded with lines. My guess is that is either FF or Microsoft setting. If so I haven't found it. HG

  • How do you create the 'cream pop-up info text boxes' that appear when you hover mouse over?

    Hi people,
I really need to know how you create the 'cream pop-up info text boxes' that appear when you hover your mouse over an object on a webpage (and often in any program e.g. Photoshop) for more than a second. I need to know because the logo on my website is the navigation tool used to return to the homepage. It is always found in the top left so the user can always click it to return.
The only problem is im the only one who knows that when you click my logo, you return to the homepage. I need one of these 'cream info boxes' (forgive my lack of knowledge) to appear so the user will figure it out.
Thanks for taking the time to read my question...

Using your code it should look like this where title attribute is in red:
    <div id="apDiv2"><a href="index.html"><img src="divs_dw/jtgd_logo_trans.png" alt="jtgd_logo" title="your description goes here" width="176" height="163" /></a></div>

Remove your photo from your address book card.
Only you see this by the way, it does not get sent.
