Coloured pixels running across the toolbar at the top when starting up.

Hey I'm new to this so go easy!
Basically, sometimes when I start up, the toolbar at the top i.e. File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Window, Help and the time etc all becomes a big coloured pixel mess.
I can still click the tabs and they will come up fine but the whole bar stays pixelated.
I have a screenshot if that is any use.

Hello Danny:
Welcome to Apple discussions.
If your system is in warranty (or even if it is not) contact Apple (Applecare or a retail store). The problem you describe is probably hardware-related.

• When I try to use Firefox Browser on my Samsung Note 3, the screen comes up white after the orange bar runs across the top. It worked yesterday.

March, 9th, 2015 -- My Samsung Note 3 is on AT&T wireless, but I Have Xfinity wi-fi at home. Firefox browser worked yesterday & last night. Today when I search it comes up with a blank white screen after the orange bar runs across the top & never loads anything (words or pictures). When I open the tabs in the side bar, it shows the pictures for them, but still only loads a white page after clicking actual link. It will not sync the last few saved bookmarks with my computer. I made sure that I have the latest android version installed, but It still does this even after uninstalling & re-installing & restarting the phone. AT&T had an update a couple of days ago & I've already talked with their tech support with no resolution. I don't know if there is conflict with AT&T's update & current Android Firefox browser. Please Fix, thank you.

Yes, it does the same thing whether on wi-fi or 4G.

• Some of my desktop documents now have the Mozilla logo on them & when I open the doc "new tab" keeps running across the top of the page

Once I made Firefox my default browser, some of the documents saved on my desktop have the Firefox logo on them. When I opened the document, the top of the window has all of these "new tab" quickly and continuously running across the top, up to 131 before it stopped. So, how do I remove the logo from all of my documents?

If there is currently no file handler application that handles PDF files then the Firefox updater/installer registers Firefox as the default application to handle PDF files and thus they get a Firefox icon (Bug 452254).
You can right-click a PDF file in Windows Explorer and use the open with dialog to change the default application to the Adobe Reader or your preferred application to handle PDF file.
If the icon doesn't change to the icon of that application then you may have to change the icon on the desktop via other means.

• What are all of the New Tabs across the top when Downloading Firefox it has been going on for almost 45 minutes, MAC OS10.8.2

I am down loading the new Firefox. As soon as I stated the down load I start seeing these New Tab boxes start flowing across the top of my screen. They just keep coming and coming and I don't know what is going on. It looks like my computer is being hacked. I tried to stop it and I can't. I tried to close the window and couldn't, I forced quit my computer and as soon as it comes back on it goes right back to all of those New Tab going across the top of my screen. I was finally able to get another window to come up so I could send this message.

• HT1199 IMAC with purple pixels scattered across the screen at start up

This happens intermittently when I start up the IMAC. Re booting the IMAC is becoming more frequent, and performance is slowing. The latest has been the blue tooth mouce can't be found at start up, so it is taking a couple of reboots to get that far.
The IMAC is coming up for 18 months old. So I was wondering if this was a hardware issue, or a software issue.
The symptom occurs regardless of which user logs in.
I'm not sure how to test the system to see if memory or other is an issue. Or I just need to get a tech to look at it.

Contact Apple Service, iMac Service or Apple's Express Lane. Do note that if you have AppleCare's protection plan and you're within 50 miles (80 KM) of an Apple repair station, you're eligible for onsite repair since yours is a desktop machine.

• Have lines appearing on my screen and coloured barcodes running across top, what is the cause

Thin lines have appeared running down the length of my screen and colloured barcode type short lines running across the top of my screen. Has anyone suffered this before and knows what the cause is and maybe the remedy?

It could be a hardware problem - bad GPU. Best to take it into your local Apple Store and have them run diagnostics on it... what model MBP do you have (year & screen size)?

• The page is suddenly different. the toolbar across the top is gone, the bookmarks are to the right top corner now ?????????

i am not sure if an update has occured.
i can take the arrow to the top of screen and address bad and search window will appear, but the tools for private search ect is gone. the bar across the top is gone

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).
If you are in full screen mode then hover the mouse to the top to make the Navigation Toolbar and Tab bar appear.
You can click the Maximize button at the top right to leave full screen mode or right click empty space on a toolbar and use "Exit Full Screen Mode" or press F11.
• Desktop appearance problem: For no apparent reason my Mac running OSX 10.4.11 imposed a mesh-like pattern over the folders on my desktop and also across the top of the screen and down the right-hand side where I have the dock. How do I remove it?

For no apparent reason my Mac (2 GHz PowerPC G5) running 10.4.11 has put a mesh-like pattern over the folders on my desktop and also a band of the same pattern across the top of the screen and down the right-hand side over the dock. (See screen grabs below.)
It doesn't affect any operations but makes folder names and drop-down menus difficult to read through the pattern.
I'm not aware of changing any settings so suspect I must have clicked on something without noticing. How do I get rid of the overlaid pattern, please?

Information about my computer is as follows:

This latest version of Firefox is complete pants! Why can I no longer have a nice, tidy little row of icons across the top so that I can click and find things at an instance, like I could with the Google Toolbar?
Example:- I've just spent 20 minutes looking how to 'translate' after I installed that add-on, there it was! A tiny little icon in the bottom right of the screen, I find the new set up very messy and very hard to navigate. Why can't I have the same set up on my toolbar that I've had for the last ten years? It's that bad that I'm even considering going back to I.E.
Jon T

Thanks but you're only telling me stuff I already know, that dosen't explain how I get the new version of Firefox to look neat and tidy like it always used to. I can no longer have all my icons that I use, I can no longer access things as easily as I could and the whole thing looks very bare and basic now! A bigger mess than even Google Chrome.
I've spent most of this evening trying to get stuff back that is now lost because of this 'upgrade' and I'm now giving up with it. Well done! You've totally ruined what was the best browser for years.

• Toolbar installed that has caused a blank strip across the top of my facebook page which i cannot click on

I accidentally installed a toolbar i do not want. i think i successfully uninstalled it, but after it was installed, when i go into the facebook app, there is a strip across the top of the facebook page on which i cannot click on to . this strip includes my spot on which i click on to my wall or homepage in facebook. if i move the page down far enough, i can click on other things, but never can i get far enough down to click on these tabs. this only happens in firefox, which i prefer wayyy over google chrome for gaming. do i need to delete firefox and reinstall? please help!

Recently, the Yahoo Toolbar and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause that problem. They seem to overlap invisibly over the top of the web page display. If you have either or both, uninstall or disable them/it, or see if an update is available that solves the problem.

• My ipad 1st gen has loads of coloured lines going across the screen so I can't see any ideas ?

My ipad first gen has loads of coloured lines going across the screen so I can't see any ideas ??

Try a reset: Press and hold both Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears.
If that didn't fix things, do a restore:

If that still didn't fix the issue, then there is probably a hardware problem.

• My iphone has lines running across the face of constantly

My iPhone has quiverring lines running across the face and I find it hard to read stuff on it.
What is causing this and how do I sort it out? I have tried the turn off, turn back on trick but
it didn't solve the problem.

this is called "artifacting" it usually results from a defective VGA (graphics card) or a defective screen.
You could attempt to restore you phone in itunes but most likely it will need to be replaced by going to an apple store or calling applecare

• My iPad has a series of thin black lines running across the right side of the screen. They look like pages in a book.

How does one get rid of the thin black lines running across the right side of the screen? They look like the edges of pages..... This is an iPad3 and the lines have been there since I took the iPad out of the box.

Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is suggested...
Be sure to make an appointment first...

• When I click on Firefox, it seems to connect to every website I have bookmarked and I get about ten of one site in a row running across the lower screen. It also goes back to things I have closed out when I am trying to go somewhere else.

Across the top of the screen are multiples of sites I have recently visited. The computer seems to want to get all of them going before it will let me ask for what I actually want. It also says I need cookies for my school e-mail. I have to shut down about twenty sites each time I want to close off the computer.

Mike,
Are any of your other applications going wonky, or is it just Logic?
I'm afraid I've never heard of this particular problem before, but if it were happening to me the first thing I would do is delete my "com.apple.logic.express.plist" file in Library>Preferences, then repair permissions in Disc Utility, and finally restart my computer. Then I would launch Logic and see if the problem has been corrected. It's amazing how much these two steps can accomplish.
If that doesn't resolve the issue I would launch Logic and go to Preferences>Audio Units Manager to see if all my plug-ins are properly validated.
