Colours come out as white when rendering?

Hi everyone,
I'm new to AR and was wondering if someone could help me out with this problem? I've made a composition that uses the "shift channels" effect to get colour aberration for my text. The three colours are of course red, green, and blue. Everything looks fine when I'm editing, but as soon as I render the video (I've tried H.264, Custom RGB, Alpha only etc.), the three colours for my text come out white. This is only a problem for the "colour aberration" portion of the video. It would be great if someone could help me out.

Notice how I'm showing all the pertinent information. You can completely duplicate my comp by just looking at the screen shot.
Seeing that you have blend modes set to ADD it's possible that you have the composition set to Ray-traced rendering.
If so, that would cause the problem because you didn't read the warning that pops up when you enable Ray-traced rendering about blend modes and effects.
I've re-created a comp that works in 3D. It looks like this:
By simply pressing the u key twice I've revealed everything that anyone would need to know about the composition. It makes it very easy to find the problem.

Photos come out real dark when printed on various printers

Im really unsure if this is an Indesign problem or not but most everything I do is created in InDesign along with Photoshop, Acrobat, and other Adobe products. Im just out of ideas on what the problems could be so thought I would take a crack at Adobe being the problem? I just dont know!
When I print things out on our high end Xerox color printer, things tend to come out more on the darker side. Its mostly noticable with photographs but it can also be seen in general solid colors also. I generally make the printer print 85% lighter from its settings and things will usually come out acceptable.
When I send files to out digital plate maker, usually as black/grayscale, the photographs will always come out real dark. For this, I have to over compensate by editing each photo individually so they no longer look normal on my screen, but overly faded just so it will look properly on our DPM.
This is something I have been dealing with for several years and though its basically a part of life now, I still cant stand it! All drivers, patches, and firmware is updated, printer color is calibrated, even paid techs to figure it out...nothing! For both our standard black and white printers, these files usually print out ok, all photos look just as good as they do on screen.
Well we just got a new large color plotter machine for printing large banners and signs. I dont operate it but the one who does seem to know his stuff. He said his program will only work with EPS files. I had created a press quality PDF from InDesign that I then converted to EPS as well as creating an EPS directly from InDesign. All files looked nice and bright on both my screen as well as his. On his first sample printout on the plotter, the images came out dark!!!!! Why???? We made new files where again, I overcompensated by fading the photos out bigtime to where they look horrible on screen but printed out mostly ok on the machine.
This cant be the normal way things are done, Is this an InDesign problem or what??? Any suggestions would be great because we are out of ideas!

I believe Xerox ships the EyeOne spectrohotometer. The companion software for that is Eye-One Match, which gets installed on your computer. I don't know if that's included. If it is, the software will lead you through adjusting the monitor and will then record a profile and associate it with the monitor. Adobe apps will use that profile to display color on screen. Each monitor needs to be profiled -- generic profiles shipped on the install disk for the monitor are useless in a color critical workflow, they match some hypothetical average monitor, or one that was pulled off the assembly line long before yours was built, and every monitor is unique in how it displays a give set of color numbers.
There should be some icc profiles on the support disks for the printers. These are the output profiles you need to target in ID, or you need to output as a standard RGB profile like Adobe RGB and let the RIP do the conversion internally to the Xerox color space.
This is a pretty complex thing to explain in detail here. You should read the Color Management section of the help files, any documentation that came with the Fiery, and I highly recommend Real World Color Management by Olav Kvern and David Blatner which is easy to read without a lot of technical jargon, and clearly explains both the theory and practice of color management in the real world (though it's now a few years old).

"File Error" and "Out of Memory" when rendering FCE

Dear all,
I imported a 2 hour holiday video into FCE.
When rendering the video, a message appears that the rendering process will last about 15 minutes to complete.
However, frequently I am warned by the following message:
"File Error: The specified file is open and in use by this or another application"
When activating Rendering again, the render time is now increased to about 45 minutes.
I now either receive a couple of times the message: "File Error: The specified file is open and in use by this or another application" >>or even worse: "Out of memory"<<.
Today I purchased an addition 2GB of memory to increase my memory form 750 MB to 2.5GB !!!
Can anyone please tell me what could be the cause of these messages and how to solve them?
BTW, no other programs are running while I use FCE.

Is it happening when you're rendering, or exporting?
The error message means FCE is trying to rewrite a file that it is currently using. It could be mistakenly trying to save a render file, if you're only rendering, or if you're trying to re-export a file, you'll get that message.
Try dumping all your render files, restarting FCE and trying again.
The Out of Memory error almost always points toward a corrupt file. Could be a source file, could be a render file. Again, dump your render files and try again.
If these don't work, you need to close FCE, take all your source media offline, then open FCE. Now, reconnect each clip one by one until you find the corrupt clip. Keep going, there may be more than one. Re-capture the corrupt clips and you should be good to go.

Vertical stripe comes out on screen when booting up x230

hi guys! this is my first post and i'm nub here
Those kind of stripe comes out before bios screen for like 0.1 sec really really short period of time.
it doesn't cause me any problem in normal use cuz it happens only when booting the laptop in the twinkling of an eye. however it nerves me sometimes.

Why do my photos come out too dark when I print them?

I am trying to print photos but they come out too dark. We have just bought a new mac mini, and are trying to learn how to use it. We are using a Canon printer. Any help would be appreciated.

Final_cut_pro-"Error: out of memory" when rendering with hidef clips

I keep getting this notice when rendering "error: out of memory." Both my external drive and internal drive have plenty of memory; 1.8TB and 101GB respectively. It makes no difference if I am rendering at full resolution or draft. I solved it for a while by clearing out some memory on my internal harddrive,
but now it is back. What is going on. This didn't happen when I was working with regular definition clips but now I am working with high def. What to do?

Drives don't have 'memory' in this context, they are storage containers.
Check my answer to your other thread and give us more info about your rig...Hardware/Software (models/versions), how everything's connected, exact specifications of the media you're working with and sequence settings.

Stop taking pictures with an iPad, it simply makes the user look like a fool.
Seriously though, basic troubleshooting is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).

Out of memory when rendering...mystery! urgent help!

ok, this is mysterious. and stressful, because of course it happens when i have to output this and get on a plane.
I created a stereo sequence which is high def, 3840x1080. photo jpeg. it has stills, and embedded hdv sequence content.
out of memory error when exporting quicktime movie, either through fcp or compressor.
so i have gone to the individual sequences (left and right) which are normal hdv sequences with video and stills, and out put a quicktime of each. i'll import the quicktimes and build the stereo sequence with these two quicktime files.
the right sequence rendered, and output as a quicktime movie just fine.
the left sequence failed, out of memory error.
so i started rendering the sequence a bit at a time to find where the problem is. the problem is on two pieces of hdv footage, and a few frames of a photo.
HERE'S THE STRANGE THING:
except for the few frames of still photo, which are in a transition of text overlay, everything is identical to the right sequence which rendered and output JUST FINE! the only difference with the text is that its position is slightly different...but 97% of it rendered just fine. I found one still which was grayscale which i've changed to RGB, but still no difference in being able to render. and it rendered in grayscale on the right sequence.
I've changed my scratch disk to a drive with over a tb of space, I have 5gb of RAM with only fcp running, on a dual core 2.67 mac pro.
help!

Deleting FCP Preferences:
Open a Finder window. Set the view mode to columns:
Click the house icon that has your name next to it.
Click the folder "Library" in the next column.
Find and click the folder "Preferences" in the next column.
Find and click the folder "Final Cut Pro User Data" in the next column.
Move the files "Final Cut Pro 6.0 Prefs", "Final Cut Pro Obj Cache" and "Final Cut Pro Prof Cache" to the Trash and empty it.
When you have a stable set of preference files, download [Preference Manager|http://www.digitalrebellion.com/pref_man.htm] to back them up. If you have further problems, the backup can be recalled and you can continue working.

Pearl smartphone - screen blanks out to white when trackball is pressed.

does this regularly but screen will come back if i leave it alone for a while. i've removed the battery a thousand times and its very well charged. anyone know what the problem is? do you think i just need to replace the trackball? hope so.. another note, the hourglass and led light still function when the screen is white...and so does the phone! just can't see anything! i can make a blind call or answer a call...its just the screen....nothing there.

It seems you're facing some device harware related problems. Some similar incidents were reported where users were getting white screen while receiving calls and nothing can be visiable or done at that point. But these issues were reported for 8700g devices. My carrier replaced those devices free of cost. If you can claim such from your carrier then do so. Otherwise contact with RIM authorized service center near you.

My mac screen comes out with white fuzzy lines going across the screen, it used to just go back to normal and out of no where it freezes and the white fuzzy lines go across the screen. Now it is frozen at the opening screen. what do i do?

My mac screen is frozen with white fuzzy lines going across the screen. I shut it off and turn it back on but it still remains white fish lines on the start up screen. I've tried revolting it, it works sometimes but now its stuck at the starting screen. I have been at this for 2 hours to try and fix it but nothing has changed about the screen. What do I do, if I break this computer I'm screwed.

Ipad2 sound not working .. playback music dosent come out..apps sound dosent come out ..but when i go to settings ang see ringtones their sound come out ..

Sound randomly comes out speakers when using earphones and wierd ZZZZZT sound

For some wierd reasonm, sound sometimes comes out my speakers when I have my earphones in for like a split second. Also sometimes this wierd ZZZZZT sound comes out when listening to music and scares the living crap outa me.Help please?

I don't get the weird sound (yet), but the sound will randomly stop coming through the headphones and play through the speakers. This is incredibly frustrating, as I just bought this laptop this month and recieved it yesterday.
Please, someone help us fix this.
