Colours in Calendar

Hi,
Is it possible to use different colours in the calender to identify which is a business meeting, which is a service request meeting etc?

I think it is not necessary to modify the Calendar button size.
The Calendar button actual size is 20X20.
But the gif file which is used by Calendar button is not filled by icon.
It seems that the height is smaller than the other buttons.

Category sync colours and calendars from desktop to Web

I have just installed Office 365 business premium on several of our PC's both Mac and Windows based. Because I believe the Mac's will be the biggest problem here, I am first trying to get this going on a Mac. Mavericks.
I am working with one Mac with Office 2011(Desktop version of 365) installed to sync calendars to the web outlook app.
I am using an exchange account.
Problem.
Originally the calendars (10 different ones) were created and show up under On My Computer - On my Mac.
When I synced with the exchange account the list of calendars and their category colour, show up under onmicrosoft under On My Mac. So i can see both lists.
If I open the web app. No calendars except the default calendar show.
As well only some of the events have synced to the web app and all are under Calendar and with the same colour.
Does this not do a true sync...or am I missing something.
Any help would be appreciated.

Custom colour birthday calendar

does anyone know how to make the birthdays calendar a custom colour? I can only seem to use one of the default colours…

What happens if you click on a calendar in the "Sources" pane and select File>Get Info?
You should be presented with a window which allows you to select from one of several default colors, plus "Other..."

Colour of Calendar doesn't change permanently

When i try to change the colour of my calendar, they just switch into the colour they before after a few seconds. No matter wether i try to change it on iphone, ipad or icloud.com.... how can i change the colours again? (it worked some weeks ago)

Yes I am experiencing the same issue.....reassuring (in a way) that its not just me!
Come on Apple you need to do better than this......please fix as I opereate 6 calenders which sync to all my devices plus husbands and its making life very difficult......

There are, however, thousands of calendar apps available in the App Store. They use the same data that the built in app does. Perhaps one would better meet your needs.

There is an RFE logged for this feature (RFE#6357817 - "Would like to have events color coded based to type") but as new features aren't being added to UWC/CE it will never be implemented.
There is also an RFE for Convergence (RFE#6633158 - "iwc should support different visual indication based on type of event").
If this functionality is important to your organisation then you will need to push this RFE via your Sun Account Manager who can then raise it with the Convergence product manager.

Changing color code in a group calendar mode by a workflow

I have team calendar which i have used for leave approval.
I am using weekgroup of the calendar view.
I have applied the workflow for pending and approval for each leave to line manager.
I have used a field which i am using for finding out whether or not it is approved.
Now depending on that the colour code should change in the group calendar view. Is it possible

As I understand, you want to change the color in the calendar based on the field value by workflow.
Workflow cannot change the color in the calendar.
As a workaround, you can add custom code in the content edit web part to achieve it. If the value of the field equals a certain value, you can change the color.

Events not showing time in iCal

I just lost my hard drive last week and now I'm re-entering everything. I'm trying to put my calendar events back into iCal and it no longer shows the time next to the event on the calendar. It used to say for example: "Dr. Appt-3:15" but now it only shows the event and not the time. Is this a change in the last week or do I have some sort of glitch? I do not want to have to click on an event to see the time, I want to just see it all at a glance. I have done all updates.
Also, maybe someone could explain to me the difference between "New Calendar" and "New Calendar Group"?

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Is this in Month view? Go to the iCal menu and open Preferences. Under General there is a check box for 'Show time in Month view.'.
Calendars are how you group events (i.e. make them the same colour). Calendar Groups are how you group calendars (you could have a 'Work' group and a 'Play' group with multiple calendars under each), you can then easily show and hide sets of calendars.

Enhance legend in Record Working Time IView

I am working on SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.0(Service Pack 4). New NetWeaver functionality in Record Working Time section(of ESS>Working time ) allows employees to enter their working times for different attendance/absence types showing different colours in calendar for Rejected and Not Released statuses. Now the requirement is to include one more colour to show the approved times in the calendar. Ie, Currently legend has two colors with text, like ( <Red box> Rejected <Light Red box> Not Released), now i have to add ' <Green box> Approve ' beside 'Not Released' text, and if manager approves the time sheet then those dates will be displayed in green color.
If any body worked on the similar type of requirement or having knowledge....please let me know how to achieve this req.

BADI name : "PT_ABS_REQ"
In the BADI "PT_ABS_REQ" interface "IF_EX_PT_ABS_REQ" you can find the method
"SET_CALENDAR_COLOR" in that you can set the colure for the Absent type ......
Adjust Colors of Calendar and Team Calendar
Functionality
You can use this method to change the colors in the team calendar.
In the standard system, the different statuses for requests have different colors. You can use this method to differentiate the colors of requests depending on the following aspects:
Status of requests (status)
Action that an employee has executed: new request, delete, change (UIA operation)
Subtype of absence (SUBTY)
Full-day or partial-day absence (BEGMT, where BEGMT = 0 signifies a full-day absence)
Application mode ( mode). You specify the application mode in the Select Employees for the Team Calendar IMG activity.
Color Display of Status of Leave Requests(COLORS_ACTIVE). You specify this status in the Specify How Leave Is Displayed and Default Values IMG activity.
Available Colors
You have a choice of 16 colors. The 16 colors are hard coded, that is, you cannot change them or add other ones.
The available colors are stored with their RGB value as constants of the CL_PT_REQ_CONST class. Use these constants if you want to change the colors.
Notes
If you change the colors in the team calendar, you should also adapt the legend accordingly. You can use the Adjust Legend for Calendar and Team Calendar method to do so.

Help please with 2 users - but need completely separate iCals.

Hi. Hope someone can help with this?? I have a Mac OS X Mountain Lion. I use BusyCal (which I love!) which then syncs with iCal and then to iCloud. All good. On that calendar I have approximately 20 colour coded calendars along with birthdays and holidays etc. Recently I set up a new user on the Mac for my hubby. We synced his new iphone with his itunes on his user account and signed up to icloud. Now... when he views his calendar on his phone, or in iCal or iCloud he sees the option of ALL my 20 odd calendars. He doesn't want them.. I don't want him to have them... How do I stop this happending please? They are listed under available calendars, not showing any events in the calendar, as I have unticked them all. I am just going to check now that I don't have his entries - I didn't think of that - but I need to sign out of his user and go back to mine. Hope someone can shed some light on tis for me. Thanks.

Just checked my iCal and BusyCal and iCloud and his calendar is not there, as far as I can make out anyway - and no entries are in the diary.

Tungsten T5 iSync, HotSync, Missing Sync for iCal, Mail and Address Book

I have just been given an old Palm Tungsten T5 and have been looking at the various options available to make it do what I need with regard to syncing it with my G5 PPC iMac with 10.4.11.
I use the T5 only when I am away (from the iMac) and travelling and would like a set- up that allows me to sync, in this order of priority:
iCal, including annual events such as birthdays, and differently colour-coded calendars and, if possible, to dos although these are less important
Mail
Address Book, in which I really only have e-mail addresses
According to some old threads on the subject, Missing Sync appears to be the program of choice for syncing iCal and Address Book, but not Mail. Instead there appears to be something called Mail.App Conduit 2.0.1 requiring at least Palm Desktop 4, and presumably HotSync.
Is there a single program that will sync all three of these Mac applications effectively? If not, am I going to have to (buy and install and then) uninstall Missing Sync and Palm Desktop (or HotsSync) alternately?
Is iSync a real option?
Or is there some clever way of using one or more programs to start with and then switch over to just one?
I would be grateful for any advice as to how to deal with this. Thank you.

I don't know if you can do this with the Centro. I should have mention that I was talking about webOS (Pre and Pixi). To sync with webOS you need Mac OS 10.5 or later for iCal, and 10.6 for Address Book.

Looking for calendar app that can sync multiple calendar colours in outlook

I Have multiple colour categories in my calendar but need a calendar app that can sync with outlook. Do NOT want to sync with google calendar. Any suggestions? Thanks

Try my application Dates to iCal. it runs on the Mac, but you can sync the calendar to your iOS device.

ICal is randomnly changing calendar colours.

I went to use my calendar today and noticed that things I normally mark green on my Work calendar are now purpley pink. As I use a similar colour already for another related Work calendar, this is very confusing. I can change the calendar to green, and it stays that way temporarily, but then changes back after a few seconds. This is happening across all my devices - iMac, iPhone 5 and iPad 2.
I'm suspecting an iCloud issue, and I notice that this issue also cropped up in August and was fixed.
Any suggestions/fixes/clues?

Calendar changes colour on its own

Starting about a month ago, the calendar app on OS X kept changing my blue calendar into purple for no apparent reason.
I've changed it back to blue every now and then and it worked, but today it's especially stubborn and keeps changing the colour back to purple right away.
The problem seems to be that when my calendar syncs with the iCloud, the colour information on OS X is overriden by the iCloud. God knows what changed the colour of my blue calendar on the iCloud.
Initially I wanted to submit this issue to bugreport.apple.com, but there's a bug in the bug reporter, causing an unknown error each time I try to log in, so I'm resorting to this forum. Any help will be appreciated.

Same here. My orange calendar turned purple and my red one turned blue and I can't change them back.
Also noticed that when I am displaying my reminders that are due today, (current date selected), and I try to change the colour of my calendar, the display changes to one of the defined lists. This is repeatable.
Something strange is afoot at the Circle K.
