Colours inverted in iweb8.0

Hi,
About one year ago I published a site using iweb
http://www.rifc.org.uk/iRIFC/Home.html
I installed SL about 2 weeks after release and now I'm going to update the site but......
iweb was no longer on my system?? So I l reinstalled from the 10.5 disc.
I launched iweb and now the colours on the site are screwed?? It's like the colours are inverted or washed out??
If I try to change the theme then I get the same results.
I started a new site and the colours are all still wrong. They look OK in the theme preview but all wrong in iweb. I haven't tried to publish.
this is what it looks like now!!!
http://gallery.me.com/davelittlewood#100010/iweberror
What gives? I can't get the colours back.
Cheers,
Dave

Delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder, reboot and try again.
If that doesn't work try the following;
1 - move your domain file from your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the Desktop.
2 - launch iWeb, create a new site, add similar photos and see if the pages look OK. If they do then the original domain file is damaged.
If the new site looks the same a reinstall of iWeb seems warranted. To do so you'll have to first delete the current application and all files with "iWeb" in the file name that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder, reinstall iWeb from the disk it came on and reapply the latest updaters.

  • Screen colours inverted, also flickers back to normal

    Model: HP15-N096EA
When the laptop is turned on the screen colurs are inverted i.e. blue becomes orange, white becomes black etc. at times it flickers back to normal colours i.e blue shows as blue etc.
I have checked magnifers invert colours isn't turned on but when I do turn it on the inverted colours switch to normal colours obviously. There is also a vertical shimmer like every other vertical line is missing or phases in and out.
I have booted into safe mode to see if its a driver issue but the colours are still inverted, I've booted into the BIOS and again the colours are inverted and just to cover all bases I booted a live DVD of Mint Linux 17.1 and the legendary green of the mint distro was a lovely lilac. I've also tried high contrast i.e. Left ALt + left Shift + Print Screen.
My feeling is its the graphic chip or the monitor and I'm hedging more towards the monitor. Tomorrow I'll do a screengrab to see how that comes out and will also connect to an external monitor to see if the flicker and shimmer is still present.
Considering this is literally a month and 6 days out of guarantee it pretty bad, I would have expected a bit longer from a laptop before it started failing.
Update from Yesterday: I did a screengrab from the HP using the snipping tool in windows 7, this showed the colours inverted i.e. negative, I saved that screengrab to a USB stick and opened it up on my Mac, the image showed correctly i.e. not as a negative.
This is the image that is displayed on the laptop, there is no colour inversion, none of the graphics settings appear incorrectly set, I did actually set all settings back to defaults.
This is the screengrab from the laptop as it displays from another computer, which, in my case was my Mac. The screen appears to be displaying correctly, hence the screengrab image below but for some reason it is displaying an inverted image - Its like there is an overlay on the screen.
    Could the inverter be faulty?

    Hi @chubby_ninja ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion 15-n096ea Notebook and issues with the graphics.  If it shows while connected to a different monitor then it is not the graphic card, it is the LCD screen or the cable.
I would replace this as it is the least expensive. Display panel cable 732066-001 Page 97 of your manual. Or you could take the Notebook to a shop so they could test each of the cable and LCD screen.

  • System Colours Inverted, what the heck?

I have a very weird problem. My computer (G4 400, OS10.3.9) is showing me all the colours inverted, a perfect negative. This is happening at a system level, it affects all the apps except watching a DVD. I tried opening an image in Photoshop and Inverting it, and that made the colour perfect (for just that picture.) I restarted the machine, and shut it down cold and started it up again. It starts up normally and then inverts the colours just after loading the OS. The machine boots up normally in OS 9.
The last thing the machine was used for before this happened was watching a DVD (that has played no prob before) . Did my kids hit some undocumented keyboard shortcut? Is it a virus? I hunted through any preference controls I could think of, and see nothing like Invert Colour. Help!

Even better, its a documented keyboard shortcut, for the Universal Access control switch to white on black.

  • MBP15 Desktop Colours Inverted???

Boss Man has been fighting this for about a week on his Mac Book Pro 15in
He uses a external 20 LCD Display as Primary monitor, and it has been working FIne foe 3 months... now in the last week when he starts the MBP and his desktop flashes up... it automatically get inverted ie the desktop colours and menurs and dosk are normal for 1/5 a second then flick to an inverted colour scheme!. When Boss man plugs in his External monitor, both wscreen flick as monitors are refreshed and Ext now is Primary, but desktops are still have inverted colours.
zapping the PRAM has no effect.
Loggin off gives the Login screen with normal colours but when loggin back in the desktop colours are inverted again...
So yesterday I did this fix... I created a new account and used that... well this works display colours do not invert :Yipie: but there is some time and pain involved when moving accounts due to the masses for files stored and permission that need to be set on folders etc.
So to me this seems like some corrupted Diplay settings.
My question is What display setting files do I trash to reset the Displays so If this happens agin It will be a 1 minute fix.

OK my boss came back from a conference and when I asked what how the display issue is he said it was not the Black on White as sugested...
    Close but no Cigar...
In fact it is the Universal Access -> Display -> Enhance Contrast Slider
It seems tha Enhance Contrast Slider will not stay where you set it.
It always wants to be set to Maximum - and this gives us the Inverted display look. When setting the slider to anything else then you logout-login or reboot the screen is inverted and the slider is set to maximum again.
OK... so which Preference (.plist file) can I delete to clear this?

  • TWO QUESTIONS: jpg colour invert and importing H264

When I am importing a particular jpg, FCP is changing the colours so it almost looks inverted. This particular image was created by someone using illustrator and CMYK colour and it looks fine in this, any ideas how I can rectify this? (bearing in mind I'm a rookie at Illustrator and Photoshop but do have access to them).
My second question is someone has sent me loads of video footage that has been compressed using H264 and this is too low and causing poor quality when there's any movement infront of the camera. It would take too long to get him to send me the uncompressed footage, I don't suppose there's anyway of retrieving the original quality from the compressed files I have?
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks
    Martin

You can't use CMYK images in FCP, they must be RGB.
In Photoshop, go to the menu bar: Image > Mode. Change it to RGB and re-save.
I don't suppose there's anyway of retrieving the original quality from the compressed files I have?
No. Video compression works by throwing information away.
You can't use H264 in FCP either. Convert the files to an editable codec such as those found in FCP's Easy Setup menu.

  • Screen Colours Inverted

I have a Macbook Pro 15" and yesterday when i turned it on the colours for the most part were inverted on the internal screen. I tried it on an external screen and it works fine. Has this happened to anybody and does anybody know how to fix it? if not i will take it in to get looked at.
    thanks

Yeah, inverter cable sounds right. I don't think its the video card or logic board, for two reasons: (1) when the problem started, it was caused by moving the screen (it is now permanent) and (2) an external display is fine. To me it seems the likely fix is a cable replacement... with a screen replacement a possibility I suppose. We will see. Its terrible to have something like this when you've owned a machine 3 weeks, but hey, it happens.
I am going to DC this weekend and will take it to the Arlington Apple Store.. Rather do that than take it to the local "Authorized Service Center." I will make an appointment - I am hoping if its a cable, its something they'll be able to fix if I leave it with them for the day.
    Thanks for the info all!
PS: I tried resetting both the PRAM and the SMC for kicks - no change.

  • Colours inverted in certain images

    Hi there,
Just now I discovered that certain images on a couple of my sites have inverted colours. This wasn't seen before and nothing was changed (nor the images itself, nor the browser or OS).
I found very little on this searching the internet, so does anybody know what might cause this all of a sudden?
I am using Safari 4.0. Images appear to be good in other browsers.
    Thanks!

Hmm, the problem seems to be fixed in Safari 4.0.1.

  • Changing colour/inverting colour of mouse pointer

I am using Tiger on an intel-based mac mini, but would like to change the colour of my mouse pointer to make it easier to spot.. has anyone got any suggestions?
    mini   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

You can make the cursor larger with the "Mouse" pane
of the "Universal Access" System Preference. It
helps a lot on a large screen.
i know you can change the pointer size - I have done that, but i find looking for a black arrow difficult. I want to change the colour!

  • Colours inverted

my macbook, which used to have standard default colour settings has suddenly reverted to what I can only decsribe as inverse colours. As I type this, the background to the window is black, with white text and icons on the desktop are black and orange. I have gone to system preferences - appearance, but when I look at the appearance dropdown where it says "blue" the sample colour next to that is orange. Any ideas what may have happened? My wife was using the laptop when it changed and she swears blind she didnt do anything! Im not a mac expert, so I hope this is just a 'daft' question rather than anything serious to do with the graphics card etc.

In addition to Michael's reply and in response to your "Any ideas what may have happened?" question - the keyboard shortcut to enable/disable the White on Black feature is Command(Apple)Option+ctrl8. I suspect your wife inadvertently pressed those keys which enabled the White on Black effect.

  • PlayBook Screen Colours Invert When Slight Pressure Applied To Device

Hi, my PlayBook's screen colours mess up when light pressure is applied to back of the device.

  • Program monitor and source monitor display issues

Hello, my program monitor is displaying strange colours (inverted?) when playing video. In addition, the source monitor will never display any video although audio plays back fine.
I am running on a Lenovo ThinkPad X200 laptop with Windows XP 32-bit and an Intel X4500MHD video card with the latest Lenovo-certified driver version.
From my testing, this problem appears regardless of project settings, file/footage settings, etc. I originally had the K-Lite codec pack installed although I have uninstalled that with no luck.
This problem surfaced from the moment I opened Premiere after first installing it and I have tried reinstalling the program, my video card drivers, and uninstalling the previously mentioned codecs.
Also I have a thread on this at the DVinfo forums which has had many responses although no working solution.

I would try whether killing these processes will help. It may well be that when you kill them all you may encounter hangs, because one or more may be needed for your machine. I would start by killing all Lenovo processes. One would expect that one of these processes may cause your problems, but unless you try it, you can't be sure. Unfortunately I don't have a Lenovo, so I can only guess.

  • Universal Access White on Black

Is there a way to use this feature without all pictures looking like negatives? Need the white on black print, but would also like to see the pictures looking normal.

    No, sorry, there isn't.
The White on Black switch works only on the whole display.
If you really don't want to see most colours inverted, try VisioVoice, which enables you to display selected text in a floating window. The text sizes, fonts and colours in this window can be set to suit your vision best, e.g. white text on black or yellow text on midnight blue, while leaving the rest of the screen unchanged.

  • GTX 680: Screen dips to black

Does anyone have a similar exsperience with the GTX 680, 4Gb card:
    1. When scrubbing, the image in the composition windows will frequently dip to black  momentarily - leaving only the layer wireframe placeholders - as though it's having difficulty keeping up with the demands made upon it.
    2.  When adding/removing nodes to a mask using the pen tool, the image dips to black for a second or so after each node is added/deleted - leaving visible only the mask path.
This was not a feature of the recently removed Quadro FX3800, 1GB card.
I have tried various preview modes - but to no avail.
It's irritating to say the lease!
    Thanks.

Yes I am, Dave, thanks, and no it's not that.
Preview mode is set to adaptive resolution and the timeline updates as I scrub, but intermittently the content across all layers will cut out visually for a second or so - showing only the coloured inverted "V" image place markers.  The image returns the moment I stop scrubbing.
I would expect the image to pixellate to a lower resolution whilst scrubbing - if it can't update fast enough - but it doesn't appear to do so.
Also, this doesn't explain the behaviour when using the pen tool (oultined above)....
As I said, this was not a Quadro FX3800 issue.
As an aside, In Adobe Forums, the text entry panel on my PC has started to display in Times Roman all of a sudden, but changes to the correct display font when posted. It's fine on my Laptop and iPad.
Am I having another senior moment?

  • I'm trying to make a poster and invert part of it but the black is coming out as a beige colour instead of white.

I can't figure out why this is happening - I've remade this document from scratch twice and each time it did this. I made a new adjustment layer with an invert mask on it, and instead of the black coming out as white, it came out as this beige colour. I tried to fix it myself, but was unable - I adjusted the colour profile, changed the colour, as well as fooled around in the menus trying to figure it out. I've inserted a screenshott of my workspace, as it was when the problem happened. Any help would be appreciated!
