Column-clipping behavior of FIND from SAP-delivered ALV toolbar
I have an ALV display whose rows start with three short columns followed by one pretty long column.
The customers want to use the FIND button from the standard SAP ALV toolbar to search for substrings in the text that's in the long column.
The find is working fine, but when the result is displayed, the layout is clipped so that only the long text column shows. Furthermore, you can't window to see the three leading columns - it's like a different display.
Is there an SAP-delivered parameter that will successfully tune this behavior so that the result of the FIND uses the original layout?
If not, has anyone written a custom FIND implementation that will not behave this way ???

I've learned that this can be eliminated by right-clicking the ALV container anywhere and selecting "optimize width".
I've started a separate question about whether this option can be preset.

Should Standard Toolbar FIND work on an ALV within a custom container ?
I have an ALV in a custom container on a screen.
The FIND and FIND NEXT of the ALV toolbar work fine against the grid.
Should the FIND and FIND NEXT of the standard toolbar also work against the ALV if they are "activate" in the GUI status?
If so, what do I call/execute in response to the "FIND" ok-code?
I've tried calling the function ALV_POPUP_TO_SEARCH2 and the popup comes up, but it doesn't do anything.
Please advise at your earliest convenience.

Absolutely. Especially as they can paint the picture, and then blame the techies when their fiction is exposed.
Similarly, we had a situation where the Expense Report WD was failing, and the functional person ensured that everyone knew it was a technical problem and therefore my fault (with SAP as the popular co-conspirator).
Sadly the message above the Java stack messages was "No entry in table T706Z for argument ' '". Had the functional check their config and all was well. No one apologised though......
Last week at a different site the same thing happened (this time with TA20C) but the funky took one look at it and reviewed their config to solve - so they're not ALL the same.

i have to develop a data flow for one of the Data source, which is given by saP. I was wondering how do i find out the whole flow ? whcih DSO / cubes / MP /Queries are given from SAP for that DS ?
i have tried to look into BI content, but it only shows Info Area/Trans strecture and Info Objects...No cubes, DSO and other stuff.
In the BI content i did select " In data flow after and B4".
Also , i was looking at help.sap.com under BI content, but couldnt find .
i am tring to impliment data flow on "0EC_PCA_3".

The SAPs is determined by running the SAP SD benchmark. At the end of this benchmark you will get a value of SAPs and could determine the SAPs for each core. So you need to specify how many SAPs you will need and the hardware vendor can configure you a server environment, that is possible to handle your requests.

EPSON LQ - 2180 ESC/P2 : print setting problem from SAP b1 8.8 PL 19

we are SAP Business One Customer, I have created Crystal Report and using Printer : 'EPSON LQ - 2180 ESC/P2',
I have selected Same Printer in Printer Option
Orientation is 'Portrait'
Paper Size 'US Std Fanfold'
but print out comes in Vertical Format, we want to print it in Horizontal format
I Tried many times in Landscape and Portrait format but print comes in Vertical format.
I have checked some following conditions:
1. If printer is in 'Portrait' format then test print is OK..
2. If Crystal Report is in 'Portrait' format then test print is OK..... directly print from Crystal Report
3. whenever I take print out from SAP B1 for same Crystal Report with same setting but print comes in vertical format.
I am attaching Print Setup screen print with this mail, pls kindly find the attachment.
Pls give me feasible Solution as soon as possible.

Symptom
Print Crystal Report layout does not consider Business One (B1) printer preferences changed by user before printing.
In order to enable B1 to make print preferences changes in application the Crystal Report Layout must have ticked off the "Dissociate Formatting page Size and Printer Paper Size" option in page setup.
The following preferences are enabled for the Crystal Reports Layouts:
1. Orientation: "Portrait" or "Landscape".
Note! In case the report is too wide to fit on rotated page, error message is returned.
2. Document Options: Duplex printing (Print on both sides).
3. Paper Options: Paper size.
Note! The options Custom Size will not be considered by B1.
Note! In case it is not possible to print on some paper size error message is returned.
4. Paper/Quality: Print Quality/Printer Resolution, Paper Source.
5. Color Options.
Note! Crystal does not resize the report to fit the selected paper or format.

SAP can be configured to send and receive emails from different sources.This section explains how to integrate SAPOffice with an external emailsystem. Your Internet email must be configured and running prior to this.Email from SAP is forwarded to the users external email system..
You can configure inbound and outbound forwarding. Outbound flow forwardsa SAP message (eg: update termination) via UNIX sendmail to the intended recepient. Inbound accepts a message from sendmail and places it in the users SAPOffice inbox. Many companies prefer to configure outbound only.

Problems that you might encounter :-
If you have set up a node in SCOT and it tests out well but recieve the reply.
"Cannot process message in node, parameterscannot be converted".
Make sure the RFC connection is working, and that SapConnect has been installed on the Unix Server or the Microsoft Exchange Server. Originally, I had the same error, and found that nothing had been installed on Unixor Exchange, to support SapConnect.
In SCOT (View -> System Status), your mail remains at the Intransit column.
Check you sendmail.cf files (e.g.Sun Solaris /etc/mail/sendmail.cf). Try using the sendmail command to send a test file at the Unix level. You must be able to send mail at theUnix level before you can send mail at the SAP level.

I am not an ABAPer, but I am trying to determine whether we need to develop an Adobe Interactice Form or leverage one delivered by SAP for following actions:
o Return to work
o Short term disability
o Hire
I read the most important notes and FAQ and I didn't find a way to list all SAP delivered Adobe interactive forms.
I know from a colleague that SAP provides a Hiring SAP Adobe form (ISR_HRASR_SHI1) but I couldn't find it in SFP transactopm code nor in table TERPFORMLIST. This table I believe is mentioned In EhP4 release notes, however it doesn't provide a description of what a form is about.
Can you please provide the process or program or procedure to dump such a list of SAP delivered forms from ERP6.0, CRM, SRM, etc, where the list contains the Name of Adobe Interactive form, description of form, SW component, application compenent, and if possible any corresponding SMARTFORM...
Any help is much appreciated.

This you can find from PFCG, go to PFCG-----> in the roles field pull down the menu, then give a search with FI, finance, or accounts yopu will get all the SAP delivered standard roles.
This way you can search for the other modules/ areas as well.

Stop Finder from "calculating folder size" or just move along little doggie
My iMac OSX 10.6.7 has recently adopted some new behavior.
Frequently, but not always, when I go to either save a document or attach a document to an email, or otherwise access the Finder from somewhere other than in Finder itself, I get a folder icon and an indication that Finder is "Calculating folder size" before it will display into the next column to allow for saving or accessing.
I saw in the magazine Macworld that I should try unchecking the "Calculate All Sizes" options in FInder>View>Show View Options window, but that checkbox and option do not appear. When I go to FInder>View>Show View Options, all I have are: Always Open in Column View (checkbox), Text Size (dropdown), Show Icons (checkbox), Show Icon Preview (checkbox), Show Preview Column (checkbox) and Arrange By (dropdown).
The problem is particularly pernicious with Word/Office 2011. When I go to "Save As" I get a spinning beachball for a good 15 to 20 seconds before Finder even appears, and then when it does, I get another 5 to 15 seconds of "calculating folder size." I have read that Word 2011 has this problem, but I'm not sure if my circumstance is normal or worse.
So, why is this doing this now when it has never done it before, and if unchecking "calculate all sizes" is a possible fix, where is that option?
I did empty all caches, repaired all permissions, and did the other things that a good little mac owner is supposed to do to keep the machine squeaky clean.This is about as minimal as Finder lets it get -
As far as I can tell that arrangement is displayed only when viewing the Desktop.
Finder uses a slightly longer one for a window whose view is set to Icon -
...and the one I posted previously for windows whose view is set to List.
In Finder, there is actually only one View Options display and it is live; what is shown in it will change as you change the view mode for a window, and also will change to reflect the choices/settings if you click on a different window.
Perhaps Path Finder has altered how that behaves. However, try some experimenting. Open the View Options display, and then try navigating into a nest of folders. Try highlighting different things in the Path Finder displays - the name of a folder in a list, the name of a column display, etc. At some point you may be able to access the long form for the particular folder's window.
On the other hand, Path Finder seems to act by changing how Finder's info is displayed. In doing so, it may also be interfereing with Finder's ability to present applicable choices in the View Options screen (perhaps because Finder is not coded to understand Path Finder). If you determine that is indeed the case, suggest you send a 'bug' report back to the publisher, explaining the problem and asking them to fix it in a future release of Path Finder. -
Removing a User From SAP and Webtools
I have recently removed a user from SAP which was a user from webtools
i removed their license and removed them from webtools
My issue is that i now have a Sync Error

If this doesn't help, you can remove user from synchronization queue:
1. run SynchManager
2. on page Synchronization click on tab Web tools Queue
3. find row with 'Name' equal NPUser; click on number in column 'Fail'
4. select row containing error message
5. press <Delete>
6. run synchronization
