Column with bug when exporting photos to html

When I select, say, 20 photos and choose file/ export to html document, the default number of
photos (Columns) per row is three. If I change it to five, the html document keeps a 33% column width
instead of changing it to 20%. This did not happen in an my older version. Is this a bug that could be corrected in the next update?
My actual version is iphoto- '08 7.1.4 (371)

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Change the thumbnail size and that should get you to a narrower column. I find the build in HTML page builder to be clumsy to use with the thumbnail size always reverting back to the 240 size. Changing the thumbnail size will let you adjust the column width.
Have you tired the free iPhoto plugins, Flash Album Exporter or SimpleViewer which create flash based galleries and slideshows? They are a lot nicer than the build in web page builder in iPhoto. Or iWeb?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

How do I keep the date/time when exporting photos?

When exporting photos from Photos.app on my Mac, it doesn't use the metadata that it displays in Photos--it uses the current date/time. So when I export a photo from 2010, it says it's dated 2015 when I import it into Aperture.
Is there a way to export an image with its original timestamp? Is this a bug? Thanks.

If you are editing tif files, then you have only a couple of choices.
Flatten the image before you save it. This will reduce it down to one layer. That's the smallest you can get.
When you first open the image, look to see if it's 8 bit or 16 bit tif. It won't help you, but if the image is 8 bit, and you save it as 16 bit, you will have dramatically increased the size of the file for nothing. If it's started as 16, no worries!
check if you are saving with compression. Tif compression is lossless, so unless you did something like resize+resample, it remains the same bit density, etc, so should be just as printable as what they sent you (unless you messed up!).

When exporting photo to my pictures folder it shows up as a soft color & no photo..Please help

When exporting my edited pictures to a folder in m Pictures it goes as a blank soft color but no photo. It looks like a tiny dot and when you open it, it is a soft color.. Please help!

I am trying to send as attachement. I have tried to screen shot but must not have a clue how to! Is there a number someone can walk me through this.. or if you could tell me how to screen shot it. I am trying the print screen but not working. I have never done on a computer before. My system is Dell Pentium Dual Core [email protected] 4.00GB 64 Bit Windows Vista. I tried to download a trial of LR4 so I could get some work done until prob fixed but it tells me my system not compatible. I am thinking of creative cloud but will this work with my system. I use LR for 100% of my editing but have been doing other things (newborns) where I feel I need CS6. If you could let me know what I need to do to run the new LR and CS6 that would be great. Is ILife 11 the current version today? Will its purchase upgrade my Iphoto 8.2.1 to Iphoto 11? I have a Macbook, Maverick and Iphoto is crashing when exporting photos. I understand ILife is the way to fix it.

When searching for ILife 11 on the Apple Store, I am directed to a separate purchase of Iphoto version 9.
Somewhat confusing, Apple is always so clear with these things.

The current version of iPhoto is iPhoto 9.5.1., and it is the latest version of iPhoto '11.
If you are running Mavericks 10.9.2, you can buy iPhoto 9.5.1 from the AppStore - it is the currently sold version.
The iLife bundle is called iLife '11, and the iPhot version in iLife '11 is iPhoto 9.x.x. - that is confusing allright

While it is certainly useful to upgrade to the current iPhoto version to be fully compatible with MacOs X 10.9.2, there may be a differnet reason for the crashes. Is there an error message with the crashes? When did these start? Did you import new photos or videos? Install other software?

Could you please give an example with specifics.
Right click the original and select Get Info. Size is the second line under General.
Do the same for the file after it is moved to the folder.

Error message when exporting photos

When exporting photos, i received the following error message: "An internal error has occurred: Win32 API Error 2 (The system can not find the file specified) when calling ShellexecuteExW from AgWorkspace.shellExecute".
The files are actually exported, however i keep getting this message.

It's a known problem. The "After Export" entry in the Post-Processing section at the bottom of the Export dialog is blank, which causes the error message. Use the drop-down to select a valid option such as "Do Nothing" and the problem is resolved.

give it time to boot. the time depends on yr memory size n data. soon a process bar will appear indicating the boot process. if still this doesnt work. try formating the phone. but this ways u lose all data on the phone (unless u backed it). relax! the data on the memory card is safe.

When exporting a group photos with their individual titles, iPhoto changes the manual sequence that I have given and imposes its own sequence (which seems to be alphabetical). The export dialogue box allows me to use my titles or to impose a numerical sequence.
How can I keep my titles and the sequencing that I had carefully worked out?

What you are missing is that files have no order - you view them using a program and that program creates the order
When viewing in an iPhoto album you can sort manually and iPhoto will display the photos as you sorted them - but when you move to a different program (the finder for example) you have a totally different set of sorts available - for example in the finder the same set of files can be viewed in alpha order, in size order, in date modified order, etc - none of those are inherent in the file but are sorts set under the view menu
So to meet your requirements you must export with file attributes that allow the finder view options to present your desired view - which is what volunteers here have tried to help with - even though it really does not involve IPhoto in any way

CS5: Bug when exporting directly from PPro with hardware MPE?

For the record, I'm using:
A GTX-480 (unsupported)
The hardware MPE-enabling hack (unsupported)
The latest version of the nVidia drivers (257.whatever)
I discovered an issue, of sorts, when exporting directly from Premiere CS5, versus using the "Queue" option to send to AME. I was exporting from an NTSC DV Standard sequence to a 320x240 H.264, in which I had enable cropping and trimmed a bit off the sides and top and bottom of the source; the Output tab was summarily set to "Scale to Fit". With hardware MPE enabled in the Project Settings, the export would be the proper final dimensions (320x240), but any area that was cropped off was instead padded with black. The actual video content was then squeezed and malformed into the area not occupied by the black bars.
I found that, if I disabled hardware MPE or sent the export through AME by use of the Queue button (instead of Export), then the export was performed properly--the video was cropped correctly and then the video stretched to the borders of the exported video, maintaining the desired aspect ratio.
As I mentioned at the outset, I'm breaking a couple rules and perhaps tempting fate with others, but before I go about rolling back my drivers and the like, has anyone noticed a similar issue?
ADDENDUM: By the way, the export doesn't need to come from a sequence. If I load up a source clip into the Source Monitor, and export from there using the process outlined above, I get the same issue. This would seem to indicate, to me, that this is due to some incompatibility with my card, its driver and hardware MPE...

Well, he did both, actually--but the quote above is a typo on my part. I meant to say "exports" or "encodes." The last couple minutes of the aforementioned demo video are dedicated to exporting a sequence directly from Premiere, and having the benefit of hardware MPE. Ability to set column separator character when Exporting Results

It would be really cool to be able to set the column separator character when using TXT export of the Results panel. Right now it defaults to a comma. If I could set it to be the TAB character, I would be able to export to the clipboard and then paste the clipboard contents directly into Excel. Right now when I paste, all the columns in Excel have a comma at the end of them, except the last column. I am trying to get around having to create a CSV file. I end up with so many temporary CSV file "laying around".

I already have this entered as an enhancement for a post-production release. It came up on a thread where users did not like our current mechanism of using a tab and comma on the data (and just a tab on the column headings which is really a bug). I have requested that we consider allowing the user to provide the delimiter for text export in the future.

Header of ALV with space when exported to excel using Standard ALV

Hi,
I am Using Reuse alv grid display    to dispaly my report and it works fine and I am using the standard SAP application tool to export it to excel.
But for some of the header fields I am getting space in the excel sheet but there is no space while displaying through ALV.
I am using the following field catalog for the same.
wa_fieldcat-col_pos = 10.
wa_fieldcat-fieldname = 'SOLLWERT'.
wa_fieldcat-seltext_l = 'text-t10'.      "Target value (* this has no space here)
wa_fieldcat-outputlen = 32.
wa_fieldcat-colwidth_optimize = 'X'.
APPEND wa_fieldcat to it_fieldcat.
but there are still space for this Colomn when exported to excel if after optimizing the column.
kindly suggest what field needs to be passed to the field catalogoe to avoid spaces in excel for the header.

I have use this also in the field cat but stil i get space in the excel header.

Also the space comes with the descrip[tion in the cell of excel.
its like [space Target Value] and i dont need this Space.

Premiere CC 2014 "Match Source" bug when exporting multiple clips

Getting a strange bug when trying to batch export.
The source clips are 4K MP4s. When exporting individually I use the Match Source button in the export dialogue and it correctly matches to the 4K frame size when sending to queue in Media Encoder.
If I select multiple clips and batch export them, selecting "Match Source" they come out as NTSC DV 29fps 720 x 480. The only way to work around this is to manually enter the frame values in Media Encoder after queuing.
Anyone come across this? Anyone at Adobe aware?

Stacked Column Report bug when one series has zero for data

I'm encountering an issue with the stacked charts. In my chart, I want to show the total of active and expired records for each year. I created a series for each, and the SQL for them is below:
Active (1st series created):

When I see the chart output, I expect the chart to show the stacked columns with expired stacked on top of active, and ordered by year. However, for the two years in our database where there are no active (series 1) records, only expired (series 2) ones, these bars are displayed to the right of the other years. Oddly, for the year where all records are active, and none are expired, there is a sliver at the top of the bar for that year showing as the color for expired, and hovering over that portion of the bar displays zero. I understand that with the other two years where the series with zero would be stacked on the bottom, and therefore not visible, but why does the chart put these years after the other ones that are in order? Since my records are from 1998-2007, and the two years without series 1 records (active) are 1999 and 2002, the years are shown in this order: 1998, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 1999, 2002.
Any help with how to make these two years show in the correct order with the others is appreciated.

After switching from Thin driver to OCI the problem went away.

Two-fold question, can I export pictures from iphoto to an external drive? I have not been able to create volumes on My Passport for Mac when exporting photos, why is that?

I have a Mac Book Pro that I use iphoto 6 for my pictures. However, I noticed my hard drive was filling up too rapidly so I purchased a WD My Passport for Mac 500GB. I select photos(the number does not matter), click File>export, and select the location(and yes, I specify the size of picture's maximum, and the file extension, and I click Export and the export initializes and then stops. Telling me that it is unable to create the volumes ont the My Passport. There is plenty of space on the hard drive. I don't know what I am doing wrong. It seems like the process should be very simple to MOVE, COPY, EXPORT photos. Why is this so difficult? What am I doing wrong?

My photo library cumulative is maybe 1.3 GB tops, however I back it up to the external drive every upload. I don't think the issue is converting calculations because as I said in my previous post, sometimes when I stop transfer to the SD flash drive and restart the copying process it will complete the library of 60-80 photos in about 2 minutes like it should. The issue is that it will not proceed to copy most of the time, and the copying status bar says preparing for a long time

Problem with interlacing when exporting with Media Encoder CS 5.5

It seems that when exporting a Video with interlacing in Premiere 5.5 with Media Encoder 5.5, the exported video is still interlaced although it is rendered with progressive settings. When rendering with the same settings through Premiere 5.5 without Media Encoder 5.5 (Button "Export") it is correct and progressive.
I tried this with H264 and MPEG2. Anyone experiencing this problem too?

Were the field interpretted correctly in the first place? Even if you think they are, try reversing them. I've just been through hell doing something similar with a mishmash of client material from around the world.
In some instances I switched field order (In the File>Modify) although it didn't seem logical. In others, I used AE CS5.5 to added the Reduce Interlace Flicker filter.
