Com Corba Bridge

Does anyone succesfully use EJB or CORBA
with the Oracle Com Corba Bridge
on Oracle 8.1.6?

In case anyone else is looking at the License API, I've been asking SAP support these questions also, and they've confirmed that the License API is still available in 8.8, is still CORBA based, and that SAP has no developer documentation or other information on it at all apart from the example bridge to COM code. They also say that they will not support any issues with the bridge.
So, I'm left with two sets of questions really - one set is around the commercials and licensing of samples on the SDN site here (my questions about the license terms that appear when you download the bridge, and about redistribution). The other set is around ownership and maintenance of the bridge - if it isn't an official SAP supported component, it would seem if we used it we are at the mercy of whoever is maintaining it in terms of support and maintenance, presumably only contactable through this forum.
This isn't a big problem necessarily. As long as the License API itself continues to be supported by SAP we could create our own solution if we found the bridge was abandoned. The lack of documentation on the CORBA interface is a problem, but I could probably reverse engineer it from the sample bridge code if only I had the missing files from the source download!
So, has the bridge been abandond? Who is maintaining it if not? Could they provide me with the missing files?
Regards,
Greg

I have tried using the existing COM License Bridge from 8.8 and it does not work.  I also need one that won't expire in 90 days.  All I need to do is get the hardware key of the license server programmatically.  How can I do this in 8.81?

I have managed to create my own interface to the license server using IIOP.NET:

  • COM License Bridge

    Hai To All,
Does anyone have idea abt the COM License Bridge to CORBA License Manager????????????////
How to apply in our Addon??? and How to check our Addon????
    Regards,
    Anitha

    Dear ani nazir,
The add-on license is like the B1 license that one license is assigned to one user.
The difference is that the B1 license has two concurrent constraint for one user, but add-on license does not have this constraint.
For example, the B1 user 'manager' can use B1 with two instance concurrently, however, it still is one user.
If you give one customer two licenses, then the customer can assign two user to use the license, but there are not concurrent constraint, means that multiple instance for one user can use the add-on concurrently.
But If the add-on is used in B1 application(UI API add-on), the user will have two concurrent constraint for use B1 license.

Does anyone know if Adobe Creative Cloud/Photography comes with Bridge?

    Yes, it does.
I've found that Adobe has put lots of effort into pushing Photoshop and Lightroom as part of that plan but does not fully explain the entire plan anywhere convenient.

  • COM License Bridge support in 8.8

    Hi
I am migrating a system from 2005A to 8.8. There is an existing console program that connects with the license API using the COM License Bridge. This does not seem to work any longer with 8.8. Does anyone have any experience with the COM license bridge and 8.8? Is it the case that I will have to rewrite my program and recompile to handle any differences in the API?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
A new version of the COM License Bridge for B1 8.8 is already availabe in SDN:

  • Can Acrobat be remote controlled via COM/CORBA?

I am somewhat familiar with handling OpenOffice using UNO, Microsoft's office software with COM and then there is CORBA, of course. My question is:
To what extent is Acrobat capable of being "handled" in such fashion?
My GUI application creates fillable forms and adds JS behaviors to them. After several stages, a smart document is born, but I would like to add a last phase (called "simulation", "test" or something) in which the form is actually filled and tested. Its tires are kicked.
Obviously, I am not looking forward implementing my own JavaScript interpreter, plus Acrobat, and embed them in my app. What I would like to do is to place (portions of) Acrobat inside a frame or window of my own program. Isn't that what browsers do? Perhaps I should use the plugin and not the app?
Thanks for sharing your expertise and helping PDF become more useful and widespread...
    -Ramon

You can embed a browser control (AxAcroPDF) in a window of your
choice. See whether this offers the required functionality. You will
have to pre-fill the PDF, this cannot be used as the conduit to the
    edits you need.

  • How come CS4 Bridge does not offer Photoshop batch operations?

I have had tons of problems with CS4 on my desktop PC but seem to have most of them resolved with a new video card and updated driver except this one.  If it matters I'm running Windows XP service pack 3, 4gb of RAM of which 3.4 is available.  It has an 2.67 GHz Intel Core2Duo cpu.
While in Bridge, under the "tools" menu, there no longer appears an option for batch operations such as I had with CS3.  In CS3 it was the bottom option of all those listed.  The only batch operation offered in CS4 is batch rename.  I want to run Photoshop actions on multiple images selected in Bridge but cannot since this option is not being offered.
I have deleted preferences and rebuilt them several times, and uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop itself so many times that the CD is almost worn out.  I have also upgraded CS4 to the latest upgrade on the Adobe site, 11.0.1.
I've done everything I can find to do but still not fixed.  Anybody out there know the answer?  This has not been a smooth transition and is very frustrating.
    Thanks

OK, let's see how good you REALLY are...here's a new one.  Well actually not
a new one, but it went away for so long I thought all the other things I've
done corrected it (CS4 update and video driver update).  It's back with a
    vengeance.
The brush tool stops working for no apparent reason.  If I shut down
Photoshop and restart, it works.  As long as I'm working on an image, it
works.  Sometimes it will continue to work for several images.  Other times
it will not work on the very next image opened.  Earlier today it worked
fine for multiple images until I printed some, then stopped.  I thought it
had something to do with printing so I shut down, restarted and worked
without making any prints.  Again worked OK for a while and then stopped.
This is true for all brush type tools...paintbrush, clone, healing, etc.  It
seemed like if I opened files directly from Photoshop instead of via bridge
that I had more success but now this evening it will only allow me to work
on a single image.  If I close an image and open a new one, no brush
function no matter how I open it.   This is just the way it acted up before
but then went dormant as I noted above.
There is no pattern or repeatability to it that can help me home in.  By
that I mean, tomorrow it may indeed work fine for hours and then go wacky
again or it may go wacky on the first image.  I thought it may have been a
RAM or some other cumulative type problem but this is shot down by the fact
that it will at times stop working immediately while other times work for a
    long time.
I'm at the point where the only thing I can think of is it must be the
computer.  I installed CS4 on an old clunky laptop and it works fine.  I
installed the 30 day free version on this e-mail computer just as a test and
again it worked fine.  On my super duper photo editing PC, it just won't go.
I didn't realize that I'd have to add the cost of a new computer into the
cost of upgrading to CS4 because the computer is not that old and definitely
not a clunker as noted in my original post.  I'm already out about $200 for
two new video cards and still no luck.
    Any ideas?

  • License API and Corba to COM bridge

    Guys,
We'd like our B1 tool (uses DI API and DI Server) to be able to get from the B1 license server how many licensed users there are (professional users). With a bit of investigation, I've found that there is a License API, however being CORBA based it isn't something we can easily use with our technology (being COM and .NET based).
I have found the "COM License Bridge to CORBA License Manager 2005" installer, samples and source code. I have tried this on a B1 2007 test box and it seems to work. I have a few questions, which hopefully someone here may be able to answer or at least point me in the right direction.
    1) What are the license terms for the bridge? On the download page ([http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/index?rid=/webcontent/uuid/1037666e-56e9-2b10-1588-cba9157a83e2 [original link is broken]|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/index?rid=/webcontent/uuid/1037666e-56e9-2b10-1588-cba9157a83e2 [original link is broken]]) it indicates that the bridge is under some sort of 90 day evaluation license. Do we have to apply for a full license for it from SAP to use it? How do we do that?
    2) Are we able to redistribute the bridge as part of our commercial package? Do we have to use the supplied installer, or can we incorporate the bridge executable into our own installer?
    3) Is this bridge officially supported and maintained by SAP? Can we log issues with SAP support with it? Will it have any necessary changes made to it for 8.8?
    4) On the license API itself, will this continue to be available within 8.8?
    5) The download page has an option to download the source. Now, I understand that if we decided to recompile ourselves, or use the source as a basis for our own CORBA based solution, we'd be on our own (and we have to get hold of the necessary open source libraries). However, the supplied code seems to be missing two files (LicenseInterfaceC.cpp and LicenseInterfaceC.h). Where do I get these files from? (I have already asked this question on Lisa Mulchinock's blog at [http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs;jsessionid=(J2EE3414800)ID1613217250DB01810329660145726482End?blog=/pub/wlg/13891] so sorry for the duplication on this one)

    Greg

  • Configuring JMS Bridges between COM and SOM

    Hi,
We started working on OSM 7.0.2 and I have a question about the configuration of JMS Bridges between COM and SOM.
When COM and SOM Cartridges are installed in the same OSM instance on non-cluster env., it is mandatory to configure JMS Bridges between COM and SOM?
If it is case, could you please detail the procedure to follow?
In the document called "Application Integration Architecture Order-to-Activate Cartridge Guide Release 7.0.2 E18005-01" it is not obvious to understand. If you have a look in the table 2-1 page 2-15, I don't see all the mandatory field values to create a new destination bridges (for instance, what is the value of destination JNDI name?). Does anyone configure this part in the setting up OSM to the Order-to-Activate Solution?
    Best regards.

The COM-SOM bridge is only required when COM and SOM are deployed on separate osm server instances and AIA Emulators are deployed (on both) for development/demo/quick testing purposes.
In QA/SIT/PRODUCTION environments, OSM should be integrated via AIA, this means that all participant applications ( CRM , OSM-COM, OMS-SOM, BRM ) should be using queue bridges (or SAF in 7.0.3)

  • Population of XML file from bridge?

I have a flash runtime for displaying pictures that reads the filename, thumbnail filename and a description of the picture and it reads the information from an .xml file. What I would like to do is type in a description of each picture using metadata in bridge, highlight the pictures I want (in the order I want them in) and have bridge perform the following tasks.
    1. Resize them to the size I specify.
    2. Create a small thumbnail of it (again at a specified size).
    3. Create and populate an .xml file with the information described above for each picture selected.
I am quite sure 1 and 2 should be fairly easy, but don't know if #3 is even possible. Does anybody have any bright ideas?

Thanks for the info. There are flash galleries that come with bridge, but how would you find out how they are generating XML? I would think that is code inside the program itself that is not available for viewing. Anyway, here is the xml that is needed. Here is the basic workflow I need.
    1. Add a brief description to each photo using one of the attribute fields in bridge.
    2. Select pictures in bridge in the order you want them to appear.
    3. Resize the pictures and optimize them for the web at a consistent size.
    4. Create a thumbnail graphic.
    5. Copy the images and thumbnails to a specified directory.
    6. Create an xml file as shown below.
Again, thanks in advance for any help!
