COM Exception while using CWGraph controls
Hi,
I am trying to use activeX controls(AxInterop.CWUIControlsLib.dll, AxInterop.CW3DGraphLib.dll) provided by NI in my sample application (wriiten in C#) but I am receiving COM exceptions after the activeX controls gets instantiated.
Has anyone encountered such a problem before. Any help will be highly appreciated
I am trying to migrate a vb6.0 project which is using a CWGraph control to C# application. The installation of the vb6.0 application also adds cw3dgrph.ocx ,cw3dgrph.ocx and cwanalysis.ocx controls in System32 folder and I am referencing the same control in the C# application and trying to access the CWGraph control (C# itself creates the wrapper for this ActiveX controls:AxInterop.CW3DGraphLib,AxInterop.CWUIControlsLib,etc).
When I enable the CLRExceptions from the Debug menu in Visual studio and run the code , an unhandled exception of type COMException occurs without any description about th exception(it displays Unknown Error). everything runs fine if I disable the CLRException from debug menu.

Exception while using unit of work commit
Hi,
I have using this code to create a object
KbAdAlerts alert = new KbAdAlerts();
alert.setAlertId(kmData.getAlertId());
alert.setAlertDesc(kmData.getOutcome());
alert.setAlertLastRevisionDate(KmUtils.convertReviewDate(kmData.getReviewDate()));
alert.setAlertType(kmData.getAlertType());
System.out.println("Alert Object :" + alert);
KbAdAlerts alertClone = (KbAdAlerts) uow.registerObject(alert);
System.out.println("Clone Alert:" + alertClone);
uow.printRegisteredObjects();
uow.commit();
I am getting exception while using uow.commit(). I have gone into alert object and everything seems to be fine.
Could you help me in this issue.
Thanks,
Ashish

I am having a similar problem that results in this stack trace. The funny thing is that it occurs after a session.logout/login and re-read of the object I'm trying to update. The other thing is that if I remove objects from the transaction it just happens somewhere else - on a different object/descriptor. I am attempting to upgrade from 9.03 runtime to the 10.0.3.1 builder/runtime. I am connecting to a Sybase 12.5 db.
Any ideas on this one?
Thanks,
Bret

Thing is, I don't think it is a PowerPivot issue because many people in the office use PowerPivot and they all receive the same error message.
We are all running on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.
Any help and/or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Exception while using acroPDF.PDF Control
Hi,
In my solution I use the acroPDF.PDF Control in a windows forms control. My windows forms control is used inside the windows-explorer and inside outlook as a HTML-page.
I distributed the solution on five computer. On three computer it works fine. On two computer I get the following exception.

What parameters are possible causes for these different behavior an how can I fix the problem.

COM Exception when using DocumentSet.Create() method
I am trying to create a Document Set in a library that's in a different site collection from the one the user is logged in to (and where the code is executing), and I'm getting the following error:

Even though this exception gets thrown by the DocumentSet.Create() method, a document set with the correct name is created in the right place. It just doesn't have the correct properties, and it looks to me by the stack trace that what SharePoint is
choking on is the part of the process where it updates the properties of the newly created document set.
Now, the exception says I need to allow unsafe updates on the web, but that's already happening. I'm running the code with elevated privileges, and allowing unsafe updates on the remote web that is the parent web to the list where I'm trying to
create the document set.
Here is some pseudo code showing the process:
protected void MoveContentFolder()
try
SPSecurity.RunWithElevatedPrivileges(delegate
// reach into the other site collection
using (SPSite site = SPContext.Current.Site.WebApplication.Sites["other/sitecollection/url"])
using (SPWeb remoteWeb = site.OpenWeb())
remoteWeb.AllowUnsafeUpdates = true;
// find the document library we want
SPList remoteLib = remoteWeb.Lists[libraryName];
if (remoteLib != null)
// get a reference to the library's root folder where we want to put the document set
SPFolder libraryRoot = remoteLib.RootFolder;
// get the library's local copy of the doc set's content type ID
SPContentTypeId docLibMatchId = GetCTypeIdFromList(myDocSetCTypeParentID, remoteLib);
// set properties and name parameters for the Create() method
System.Collections.Hashtable properties = some_properties;
string name = "a name";
// create the doc set in the remote library
DocumentSet newDocSet = DocumentSet.Create(libraryRoot, name, docLibMatchId, properties, false);
// return to a different page
Page.Response.Redirect("some/other/url"));
else
throw new ArgumentNullException("remoteLib", "The document library specified could not be found.");
remoteWeb.AllowUnsafeUpdates = false; }
catch (Exception ex)
throw ex;
So does anyone know what's going on here? Why is an exception being thrown that says I need to allow unsafe updates when I already am allowing unsafe updates? Why is part of the document set creation process working, but the part where the doc
set item's properties are being set fails?
Thanks!Hi Dylan,
While creating a DocumentSet from code, SharePoint need to UpdateFileOrFolderProperties by calling COM. In the call, SharePoint may need to update some settings. But these updates are not allowed from Get request. That is why the issue happens.
Based on my experience, the issue generally happens when updating HttpThrottleSettings. Update HttpThrottleSettings from a web request(GET) is not allowed.
In this case, you can check from the ULS log, if there is error related to HttpThrottleSettings when "Updates are currently disallowed on GET requests. " happened. If so, please execute the following PowerShell from SharePoint 2010 Management Shell at first:
$web = get-spwebapplication http://nameofproblemwebapp
$web.HttpThrottleSettings
$web.Update()
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.
Thanks,

Exception while creating Data Control
Good day house,
I have been doing some research on using business components design in other IDEs with Oracle ADF faces within JDeveloper 11g.
I went through the following steps
create a Java EE web application - a model and viewcontroller project
imported my EJB project jar file - but I could not get an icon to show me the beans within my jar, so I imported the source instead
On importing the source, I right click on my bean classes and chose create Data control but it comes with an exception

2. Why the exception? Is it a problem with my JDeveloper installation?
3. Is it also possible to create a data control from any plain java object/interface.
thanks in advanceDid you create the weblogic domain with the Oracle Webcenter Spaces option selected? This should install the relevant libraries into the domain that you will need to deploy your application. My experience is based off WC 11.1.1.0. If you haven't, you can extend your domain by re-running the Domain Config Wizard again (WLS_HOME/common/bin/config.sh)

Hi,
We have a requirement to purge the Azure WADLogs table on a periodic basis. We are achieving this by using Entity group transactions to delete the
records older than 15 days. The logic is like this.
bool recordDoesNotExistExceptionOccured = false;
CloudTable wadLogsTable = tableClient.GetTableReference(WADLogsTableName);
partitionKey = "0" + DateTime.UtcNow.AddDays(noOfDays).Ticks;
TableQuery<WadLogsEntity> buildQuery = new TableQuery<WadLogsEntity>().Where(
TableQuery.GenerateFilterCondition("PartitionKey",
QueryComparisons.LessThanOrEqual, partitionKey));
while (!recordDoesNotExistExceptionOccured)
IEnumerable<WadLogsEntity> result = wadLogsTable.ExecuteQuery(buildQuery).Take(1000);
//// Batch entity delete.
if (result != null && result.Count() > 0)
Dictionary<string, TableBatchOperation> batches = new Dictionary<string, TableBatchOperation>();
foreach (var entity in result)
TableOperation tableOperation = TableOperation.Delete(entity);
if (!batches.ContainsKey(entity.PartitionKey))
batches.Add(entity.PartitionKey, new TableBatchOperation());
// A Batch Operation allows a maximum 100 entities in the batch which must share the same PartitionKey.
if (batches[entity.PartitionKey].Count < 100)
batches[entity.PartitionKey].Add(tableOperation);
// Execute batches.
foreach (var batch in batches.Values)
try
await wadLogsTable.ExecuteBatchAsync(batch);
catch (Exception exception)
// Log exception here.
// Set flag.
if (exception.Message.Contains(ResourceDoesNotExist))
recordDoesNotExistExceptionOccured = true;
break;
else
break;
My questions are:
Is this an efficient way to purge the WADLogs table? If not, what can make this better?
Is this the correct way to handle the "Specified resource does not exist exception"? If not, how can I make this better?
Would this logic fail in any particular case?
How would this approach change if this code is in a worker which has multiple instances deployed?
I have come up with this code by referencing the solution given
here by Keith Murray.Hi Nikhil,
Thanks for your posting!
I tested your and Keith's code on my side, every thing worked fine. And when result is null or "result.count()<0", the While() loop is break. I found you code had some logic to handle the error "ResourceDoesNotExist" .
It seems that the code worked fine. If you always occurred this error, I suggest you could debug your code and find which line of code throw the exception.
>> Is this an efficient way to purge the WADLogs table? If not, what can make this better?
Base on my experience, we could use code (like the above logic code) and using the third party tool to delete the entities manually. In my opinion, I think the code is every efficient, it could be auto-run and save our workload.
>>Is this the correct way to handle the "Specified resource does not exist exception"? If not, how can I make this better?
In you code, you used the "recordDoesNotExistExceptionOccured " as a flag to check whether the entity is null. It is a good choice. I had tried to deleted the log table entities, but I used the flag to check the result number.
For example, I planed the query result count is 100, if the number is lower than 100, I will set the flag as false, and break the while loop.
>>Would this logic fail in any particular case?
I think it shouldn't fail. But if the result is "0", your while loop will always run. It will never stop. I think you could add "recordDoesNotExistExceptionOccured
= true;" into your "else" block.
>>How would this approach change if this code is in a worker which has multiple instances deployed?
You don't change anything expect the "else" block. It would work fine on the worker role.
If any question about this issue, please let me know free.

Will

Getting NullPointer Exception while using setNamedWhereClauseParam()
Hi,
I am using VO to execute an advance search query, for this i am first formatting the where and then setting the bind variable values programmatically.
ViewObjectImpl myVO = //some code to get VO instance.
myVO.setWhereClauseParams(null);
myVO.setWhereClause(null);
myVO.setWhereClause(whereClause); // some code to format where clase value based on value coming from user advance search form
if (whereClause.contains(":pFullName")){
myVO.defineNamedWhereClauseParam("pFullName", null, null);
myVO.setNamedWhereClauseParam("pFullName",profileSearchHeaderRow.getAttribute("FullName")+"%");
if (whereClause.contains(":JobName") ){
myVO.defineNamedWhereClauseParam("JobName", null, null);
myVO.setNamedWhereClauseParam("JobName",profileSearchHeaderRow.getAttribute("JobName"));
if (whereClause.contains(":pJobName")){
myVO.defineNamedWhereClauseParam("pJobName", null, null);
myVO.setNamedWhereClauseParam("pJobName",profileSearchHeaderRow.getAttribute("JobName"));
myVO.executeQuery();
It is working fine for first time when i am giving only field A and B value next time if i will give only field A value in advance search i m getting below error,
Earlier i was not using setNamedWhereClauseParam function i adding the field value while formatting the where clause that time it was working fine only problem was SQL Injection failing so i m trying with bind variable but its failing when changing the search criteria.
Please let me know if i am missing anything in the code,

Java.lang.thread exception while using Xalan 2.0 in WLS 6.0
Hi, I'm trying to use Xalan 2.0 in a servlet hosted by WLS. Ive
modified Xalan's SimpleTransform sample to be a servlet. I
create a Transformer with the .xsl, then call tranform() to
print the tranformed xml to the response stream. The xml is
tranformed correctly, but it throws a java.lang.thread
exception. The standalone Xalan sample doesn't do this. Anyone
else seen this problem?
Here's the code of interestest, I apologize if its not formatted very well:
public void doGet(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res) throws IOException
PrintWriter out = res.getWriter();
res.setContentType("text/html");
out.println("<html><head><title>XalanTest<title></head>");
out.println("<body><h1>XalanTest</h1>");
try{
TransformerFactory tFactory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
StreamSource ss = new StreamSource("file:\\\\My-path\\birds.xsl");
Transformer transformer = tFactory.newTransformer(ss);
StreamResult SR = new StreamResult(out);
transformer.transform(new StreamSource("file:\\\\My-path\\birds.xml"), SR );
catch(Exception e){
out.println("<p>" + e.toString() + "</p>");
e.printStackTrace(out);
out.println("<p>Exception</p>");
out.println("</body></html>");It also looks like the workaround suggested does not work.
I put the following code as workaround:
response.setContentType("text/html");
response.setHeader ("Pragma", "no-cache");
Transformer transformer;
TransformerFactory factory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
String stylesheet = "config\\closs\\applications\\webroot\\jsp\\example\\Load2.xsl";
String sourceId = "config\\closs\\applications\\webroot\\jsp\\example\\Load2.xml";
String outputFile = "config\\closs\\applications\\webroot\\jsp\\example\\Load2.html";
String outputDirectFile = "config\\closs\\applications\\webroot\\jsp\\example\\Load2_Direct.html";
try
PrintWriter fout = new PrintWriter (new FileOutputStream (outputFile));
OutputStream os = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
transformer = factory.newTransformer(new StreamSource(stylesheet));
transformer.transform(new StreamSource(sourceId), new StreamResult(outputDirectFile));
transformer.transform(new StreamSource(sourceId), new StreamResult(os));
os.flush ();
os.close();
out.print(os.toString());
fout.print (os.toString ());
fout.flush ();
fout.close ();
catch (Exception e)
// Error Handler
e.printStackTrace();
The two .html files produced look exactly the same, which is good.
However, the screen output to my html browser (Internet Explorer 5.50 sp1) produces
different output.
That is strange, but that shows that this bug does not have a known workaround

I have the same problem with java sun xml parser (jaxp 1-1)
It is interesting to know that all this perfectly works under weblogic
5.1, so
I cannot migrate my application to 6.0
So, the functionality of weblogic 6.0 degraded since 5.1.
I cannot buy the explanation that that is not bea's fault, because it
perfectly
worked with the same version of xml parser.
Now, their customer support is saying they have not decided whether this
is a
bug or a feature.
Interesting to know that degradation of functionality could be a feature!
It is now June 21, 3 months since this bug was reported, sp2 was shipped
since
that time, and this bug is still there.

at
org.apache.xalan.transformer.TransformerImpl.run(TransformerImpl.java:2894)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:484)
What happened is: to support incremental output, Xalan-Java performs
the
transformation in a second thread while building the source tree inthe
main
thread. So Transformer.transform() creates a new thread to run the
transformer.run() method, which will write to weblogic's internal
ServletOutputStreamImpl, and in the end calls flush() on it.
ServletOutputStreamImpl determines that the headers haven't been written
yet, and the headers need to be written before any servlet output, so
it
calls ServletResponseImpl.writeHeaders(), which eventually calls
ResponseHeaders.setDateHeader(). The last method assumes the thread
is
weblogic's internal ExecuteThread and tries to cast the thread as such,
maybe to get the date from it. But the thread is a plain java.lang.Thread
created by xalan, thus we get the java.lang.ClassCastException:
java.lang.Thread
This suggests a second workaround: call ServletResponse.flushBuffer()
before any xalan stuff, which will force the headers to be written in
weblogic's ExecuteThread. The shortcoming of this is that this will
cause
the response to be commited, and if the xalan stuff throws exception
you can
not forward to another page.
Another thing is that xalan should not directly call flush() on
ServletOutputStreamImpl at all. I will report it to xalan and see if
they
consider that a bug. If they fix that then we have a third workaround:
set
the buffer size of ServletResponse big enough to accomodate everything
including the xslt outputs, so the ServletOutput does not need to be
flushed
during xalan code.
I do not consider this problem a weblogic bug, since the servlet container
has to right to expect any thread inside it to be its own. Serlvet2.2
spec
says:
1.2 What is a Servlet Container?
A Servlet Container may place security restrictions on the environment
that
a servlet executes in. In
a Java 2 Platform Standard Edition 1.2 (J2SE) or Java 2 Platform Enterprise
Edition 1.2 (J2EE)
environment, these restrictions should be placed using the permission
architecture defined by Java 2
Platform. For example, high end application servers may limit certain
action, such as the creation of
a Thread object, to insure that other components of the container are
not
negatively impacted.
Weblogic should explicitly warn the developers that creating threads
inside
the servlet container may have adverse effects, the same kind of problem
we
are having. (or maybe they already did somewhere in their documentation?)
On the xalan side, I would suggest them to either give the option to
switch
the two threads, or to give the option to buffer the output and write
it out
in the main thread, which is exactly what you did in your first workaround.
Any comments or thoughts on the subject are welcome.

I found, what I think to be a bug, and a work-around for it.
When doing an XSLT Transformation, you must specify a StreamResult
to which to write the output. I was doing my transformation in
a
servlet so I was writing my output to the HttpResponse
(The variable res is a javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse
object)
StreamResult htmlTarget = new StreamResult(res.getWriter());
If I use this, when I perform the transformation using the TRAX
APIs,
InputStream xslFile = context.getResourceAsStream(fileName);
TransformerFactory tFactory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
Templates xslTemplates = tFactory.newTemplates(new StreamSource(xslFile));
transformer = xslTemplates.newTransformer();
transformer.transform(xmlSource, htmlTarget);
I receive the ClassCastException from the class
weblogic.servlet.internal.ResponseHeaders.setDateHeader(ResponseHeaders.java
:273),
as seen in my previous posting.
I discovered, if I write my output to a StringBuffer, and then
I write
the StringBuffer to the HttpResponse, I do not get the ClassCastException.
For example,
StringWriter myWriter = new StringWriter(2400);
StreamResult htmlTarget = new StreamResult(myWriter);
<Same transformation code as above>
myWriter.close();
PrintWriter out = res.getWriter();
out.print(myWriter.toString());
Is this a bug in the weblogic internal servlet class or am I just
missing something?
Also, one concern that I have with the workaround is that it might
hurt performance.
Any comments or thoughts on the subject are welcome. -
Bad Record MAC. exception while using urlConnection.getInputStream()
All,
In my SAP J2EE instance, from filter I am trying to do get data from an url (protocol is https).
For this I am using urlInstance.openConnection() after that urlConnection.getInputStream() and then reading from this input stream.
When I use http protocol, everything works fine. But with https, during urlConnection.getInputStream(), I get an exception saying "Bad Record MAC".
I tried to execute the same code in a standalone java program. It went fine with both http and https.
I get this error only when I run in SAP J2EE instance and only with https.
From the exception trace, I can see that while running in J2ee engine, the URLConnection instance is org.w3c.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.
When I run a standalone program from command prompt, the instance is com.ibm.net.ssl.www.protocol.https.r. This runs without any issues.
I understand that these instances are different due to different URLStreamHandlerFactory instances.
But I didnt set the factory instance in either of the programs.
1. Is the exception I get is simply bcoz of instance org.w3c.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection?
2. In that case how can I change the factory instance in j2ee engine?
Please help.
Thanks.
Edited by: Who-Am-I on Nov 28, 2009 7:54 AMMay be my question is too complex to understand. Let me put it simple.
After upgrading to NW 7.01 SP5, an existing communication between SAP J2EE engine and a 3rd party software is not working.
After a lot of debuggin I came to know that its happening at the filter we implemented to route the requests through the 3rd party authentication system.
At the filter exception is coming from org.w3c.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream.
This instance of HTTPURLConnection given by protocol handler factory(implementation of URLStreamHandlerFactory) which SAP is considering by default. I want to replace this protocol handler with another handler as I see no problems running the same program outside SAP J2EE instance.
Can we change this protocol handler factory? Where can we change it? -
Exception while using RSA BSAFE CryptoJ in Weblogic 7.0 (SP2)
I need to verify the digital signature in the application (Web Tier - Servlet)
and i have got the RSA - BSafe license and tried using the RSA API and this works
fine in the stand alone environment. (weblogic.jar is not part of the classpath).
I have tried the same program in the Weblogic environment the BSAFE jar's are
kept in the classpath prior to weblogic.jar and while starting the server i am
getting the following exception and server continues to start. (Security configuration
doesn't changed)

I believe that there seems to be different versions of BSAFE products. Could you
please suggests that in what way i can overcome this issue. Is it possible to
use the BSAFE jar only for the specific application (web application) without
disturbing weblogic envrionment.
Reponses are highly appreciated.Weblogic is using RSA Crypto-J 3.3.1 The easiest solution is probably to modify
the signature verification code to use 3.3.1 api-s. The alternative solution would
require writing your own classloader for the application that would load BSAFE
classes from your jar.

Security Exception while using Custom Entity Property Manager
Hi,
I am using Portal 7.0 UUP example (specified in dev2dev.com site) to implement
custom entity property manager.
It all works fine using Portal 7.0 admin tool.
Now I am proving the same concept by writing java code to insert record in UUP_Example
table.
This is the code I am writing in my class
UserManager userManager = getUserManager(); (calling method to get Remote Interface
of UserManager).
ProfileWrapper pw = userManager.createUser(identifier,password,"User");
MyEntityPropertyManager myEntityPropertyManager=getMyEntityPropertyManager();(calling
method to get remote interface of MyEntityPropertyManager)
long num=myEntityPropertyManager.createUniqueId(null,identifier);
pw.setProperty("UUPExample","word1","mike_headen");
Code gets compiled successfully but when I execute these statements, following
run time exception occurs:
EJB Exception: ; nested exception is: java.lang.SecurityException: Users can only
be modified by themselves, or by a member of the role DelegatedAdminRole||SystemAdminRole.
This problem comes while executing last statement i.e
pw.setProperty("UUPExample","word1","ajay_dogra");
I know I am missing something here. Any guidance will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
MikeMike,
You approach is wrong and you have to code your program in a different way to
get rid of this problem.
Here, you are trying to update User property using pw.setProperty() even before
authenticating and logging in the user.
Why you are getting this error becuase user is not logged in and u are trying
to update the user property.
These are the steps you need to perform to update/insert user properties at the
time of login.
1. createUser(using usermanager.createUser).
2. Authenticate user(Authentication.login(identifier, password, req);
3. Initialse the profile in session
ProfileWrapper profile =
ProfileFactory.getProfile(identifier, null);
4. Fire UserRegistrationEvent and Session Login event.
5. Update user property using profilewrapper.setProperty.
Hope this helps,
You can either perform these steps in java or can use the usemanager custom tag
in ur JSP.
Thanks
Sanjay
