Hi all,
Just a simple question, where can I find the com.sap.b1i.sample.bizflow.zip? It should've been published a long time ago... and now I really want it badly! Eddy? Felipe (if you're still alive)? Dhruv (just in case)? Also needing the com.sap.b1i.sample.ipo.zip.

How to download com.sap.portal.navigation.contentarea par file

I am trying to download the com.sap.portal.navigation.contentarea par file so that I can modify it and upload it with a new name. I found the file in the Support Desk of the portal, and I downloaded it just fine. However, when I download it it was in the form of com.sap.portal.support.browse.zip. I tried to extract the files from there, and I came up with com.sap.portal.support.browse.
How can I get this in the form of a par file to import into NWDS? I have imported par files into NWDS before, but I nothing I am trying is working, because I can't get it into the .par or .par.bak formats.

OK done...
I am doing it and explaining you step by step same time...
1. logged in to portal -> system administration -> support -> ROOT/WEB-INF/deployment/pcd
2. clicked download link beside com.sap.portal.navigation.contentarea.par.bak file.
3. downloaded/saved to my desktop
4. Now I have file com.sap.portal.support.browse.default on my local machine.
5. Right click on this . default file and select Add to "com.sap.portal.support.browse.default.rar" --- this is the important step...*
6. Now you have com.sap.portal.support.browse RAR / ZIP file (no extension will be added, you can check it by file format).
7. Keep on double clicking on rar file till you see .bak file.
8. Once you are at / you see com.sap.portal.navigation.contentarea.par.bak then right click on this file and select "Exctract to specified folder" ...
9. Change the path to where you want to store .bak.
10. rename it to .par by removing .bak.
That is it... its all yours to modify/customize...

How to change com.sap.portal.usermanagement.admin.par file

Requirement is
1)using com.sap.portal.usermanagement.admin.par file provide the UserUpdate view(With out developing ur own GUI and code to update the userprofile).
2)Department and Position is not visible to the user at the time of updation.
so to achive this i imported com.sap.portal.usermanagement.admin.par file into NWDS after that i have confiused to change the files. can u give the procedure to follow the things.

NEED PARAMETER PASSING SAMPLE INSTALLATION ZIP FILE...

I was viewing the following page:

Near the end of the page it reads, "For a detailed PL/SQL portlet
sample, see the Parameter Passing sample included in the PL/SQL
section including the Parameter Passing Sample Installation
article and check out the source code in the downloadable zip
file."
The phrase "downloadable zip" near the end of this line is a link
that is supposed to provide you with the zip file. When I click
on this link I get the file to save as sample.zip. Files get
downloaded but when I try to unzip it,
I encounter error messages :
Missing 1 bytes in Zip file (attempting to process anyway).
Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive.
If you downloaded this file, try downloading the file again.

Exception when using a renamed com.sap.portal.navigation.toolarea.par file

Hi,
I would like to modify the toolarea of our SAP Enterprise Portal. Basically, I just want to move the tools to the right hand side.
Problem Description
According to several threads I found on sdn
- How to modify the header
- copy and rename par-file?
it should be fairly simple to modify the tool area.
- download com.sap.portal.navigation.toolarea.par from portal server
- import the downloaded par file into your NetWeaver Developer Studio
- Change the ToolAreaiView.jsp in project folder dist/PORTAL-INF/jsp
- Save changes
- Deploy project to the portal server (>File>Export>Par File><Name of your project>>Next>...)
- Remove the standard Tool Area iView from your Framework page
- Create a new iView from your uploaded par file (chose default component)
- Add new created iView to your Framework page
Done, you should see your customized tool area. Unfortunately I encounter a Portal Runtime Exception (Page could not create the iView). I did exactly as described above.
- I downloaded the com.sap.portal.navigation.toolarea.par.bak file from >System Administration>Support>Portal Runtime>Browse Deployment>ROOT>WEB-INF/deployment/temp.
- Extracted the com.sap.portal.navigation.toolarea.par after changing the downloaded files file extension to zip
- Imported the extracted par file into Netweaver Developer Studio under a new project name
- Found the ToolAreaiView.jsp in project folder dist/PORTAL-INF/jsp
- Did NO changes
- Exported the project into a par file and deployed the par file to the portal successfully.
- Removed the old Tool Area iView from the Framework page
- Created a new Tool Area iView from my uploaded par file (default component)
- Added the new created iView to the Framework page.
- I logged on again and instead of the Tool Area I see an error message
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :

Hi Yoav,
thank you for your swift response. You were right. I do not know why but after I imported the downloaded par file into NetWeaver Developer Studio, the new created project did not contain the jar files, which come with the par file. I added the jar files manually to the project, put them into the project's build path and instructed the NWDS to put them into the par file which I deployed to the portal server.
Afterwards I completed the routine described in my first post and everything worked out. Thanks a lot for that hint.
By the way do you know how to instruct NWDS to include the jar files automatically during an import?

GETTING ERROR WHILE DEPLOYING A COM.SAP.PORTAL.RUNTIME.LOGON.PAR FILE

I need to change the text in logon screen i.e,

for this i changed the copyright and deployed the par file
but it is giving error like this
operation failed:please make sure the server is running or check the log(sap-plugin.log)
what should i do plz suggest me na.....
i searched the file sap-plugin.log in program files -> sap>IDE>eclipse-->plugin but i couldnt find the

Hi,
follow below procedure to add jars,
Right click on webdynpro project->properties->Java Build path->Libraries->Add variable-> WD_Runtime->extend->plugins->com.sap.security->lib->com.sap.security.api.jar.

I have downloaded com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par from portal. When i imported in NWDS , i am not able to find any JSP file.
In folder PORTAL-INF, there should be this file but its not there. what could be the reason.?

You can access the above mentioned par file from this location,
System Admin -> support -> Support Desk->ROOT/WEB-INF/deployment/pcd (download this folder)
->com.sap.portal.admin.wizardframework.par.bak->extract the file
alternatively,
u can find the same in,
\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\com.sap.portal.admin.wizardframework\lib

Can't See com.sap.portal.runtime.logon in list of PAR Files in Iview Wizard

Hello All,
I am trying to create an iview from PAR file com.sap.portal.runtime.logon which is the logon par file that has the logon page. But when I right click a folder in the PCD and click on New From PAR Iview I try to find on the list of available par files and I don't find the one named com.sap.portal.runtime.logon
Can anyone tell me if this has to do with the portalapp.xml file from com.sap.porta.runtime.logon.par file.? or with the Security Zones defined in portalapp.xml? Or does someone know why this PAR file doesn't appear on the list and how can I make it appear on this list of par files?
Any helpful ideas to solve this issue will give rewarding points.

What I want to do is to put the logon page in the light framework page so that the users can login from the anonymous portal. After I customize the logon page I want to create aniview in the detailed navigation.
If you want to see the jsp files that the com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par file you have to go to the file system and copy the .par.bak file , rename it to .zip and all the files are there.
But my question is if this is a par file that is deployed in the portal , why I cant create an iview from this par file? From other forums I have read they say that creating an iview from this par file it will put the logon page where you want. But when I try to create an iview from PAR File the com.sap.portal.runtime.logon doesn't appear in the list of available par files.
Please help me on this and will give rewarding points.

Com.sap.km.cm.docs file corruption error

Problem Description
Within the Portal there are several html files served up to a user through the KM repository. These html files contain links that open up 'pdf' files stored within the KM repository. These links are served to the user via the 'com.sap.cm.km.docs' par file. There seems to be some problem with this par file which streams a file across to an end-users browser from the KM repository.
For some users, when they click on a link to a pdf file they get a 'File corrupted' message on their browser's end. They always get this error no matter how many times they open it up. Other users on other desktops can click on the link and receive the file without any error. Also the same user can open up links to other pdf files without a problem.
Has anybody faced this problem. This is a very sproadic incidence that happens. When we do a binary comparison of the file sent by com.sap.km.cm.docs par file there is a binary difference however the size are same.
Please let me know if you know what the problem could be or have come across the same.

We had the same problem and we successfully resolved it. The problem resides in PDF readers, please fallow the below steps to solve it.
1) Open Adobe Acrobat reader.
2) Go to Edit -> Preferences option as shown in the screenshot below.
3) On the Preferences window that opens, select Internet from the various options present on the left side.
4) On the right hand side options, select the Display PDF in browser option.
5) Uncheck Allow Fast Web view.
This will really helps in opening PDF documents from KM.

Location of com.sap.portal.dsm.par in SP23 of NW2004

For an issue discovered in SP22(SAP Note 1235253), SAP has provided a work around. Thats to take a file com.sap.portal.dsm.par from SP23 and deploy using SDM.
But i am not sure in which SDA/SCA this particular file is present.
Please let me know the SDA/SCA file where i can find com.sap.portal.dsm.par.
