Combine albums

how do i combine cd albums in itunes

Hello lifeactuary,
I also think it is important to to keep songs from an album together.
There are three reasons why songs from the same album may not be grouped together
The album names of the songs may differ slightly
The songs from the same album may have different artists
Not all songs in the album have the same "Album Artist" assigned to it
I recommend reviewing the following article for an issue like this:
Why aren't songs with the same album art grouped together?

I hope this helps get your music back on track!
Best,
Sheila M.

  • After upgrade to Aperture 3 last year, combined albums are not recognized

On many events, I work with a second photographer who does his own editing of his raw images.  To combine our work in the previous version of Aperture, I would import the other photographer's Aperture project, create Albums within my Aperture project and combine photos from the 2 projects (drop the photos from both projects into the Albums), re-order and edit them as needed.
With the upgrade to Aperture 3, I re-imported the  Library/Projects, and the Albums appear but do not include the combined images from second project file?  This would mean that I lost all of the hours spent re-ordering 8-10 events will need to be re-done for a final export.
Has anyone else experienced this issue, and is there any way around having to re-do all of that work?

    Liz,
when you view your first Library 1 with the combined album that appears to be empty, what is the number of items beside the album?
(to turn on the display of the number of items open the Aperture Preferences and enable "Show number of versions for projects and albums in the "Appearence" tab).
This will tell you, if the versions from your second project really are not included in the library or are only hidden.
Do you see your project from the second library when you click on the projects view button or is the second project missing entirely?
If the second project is there but looks empty, and if the album has more image versions than shown, then look at the search fields and check, if you have any filters set that hide the images. The search field in the Brower pane should show "Showing All", the search field in the Library Inspector should show "All items".
Are your master images referenced or managed? And if they are referenced, did you move your libraries/projects recently? Can it be that your images from the second project are not included in the first library beause they are referenced  and on an external drive?

  • Can i combine albums?

I burned a CD from my collection today. When it was finished ended up with an album for each song.
Normally the entire CD is in one album with the songs from the CD.
Is there any way to combine the songs onto one album?

  • How do i combine albums

On my album view I have several pictures of the same album, each has one or more songs that are not duplicated in the others.  How do I combine these into one album?

Select all the tracks you want to combine into a single album. Do a GET INFO on the bunch. Change the Album name (the field will likely be blank if they currently have different names) by typing in the one album name you want to use. Also check the box next to Part of a Compilation making sure it is changed to YES.
OK out of there and they should combine as a single album in iTunes.

How do I combine two albums in Revel?

In Adoberevel.com, you can go into an album that you want to combine, click on select files, then choose all the photos and click on add to another album. Choose the album that contains the other photos and they will be placed together there. Then, if you like, you can delete the album you copied from since the photos are in the library and in the other album.

  • Combining albums in iTunes

I loaded an album from a cd. Instead of showing it as one album, there are several albums because of a number of performers that were on the album.
Can I combine all of these songs into one album?

FYI my music is in my MAC HD/users/shared/iTunes Media and my wife's profile doesn't see those kind of changes I've made, and it doesn't let her make those changes.  Running Lion 10.7.5 on a mid 2011 iMac 27" i5 2.7 Ghz

  • Itunes update combined albums by artist, how to undo?

When iTunes upgraded to 11 it combined the majority of my Albums (not all, seems to be random) by Artist and lumped them as Unknown Album but kept the Artists name.  Is there any way to reverse this and ungroup them back to individual albums?  I've tried creating a new library, but it didn't help.  My music is all burned from CD and resides on an external drive, operating system is Windows 7.  Many thanks!

    Hello chopsuey0212,
If your songs are not organized, then check the track information of the songs to make sure that it has the Album Artist information entered in to be organized. Take a look at the article below and I know that it is for iTunes 11, but the steps will be the same for iTunes 12.

  • Combine albums on iTunes 11

I am using iTunes 11.  After importing a CD with multiple discs I can no longer combine all the tracks into one album.  I am doubled checked the spelling of the artist, album name, etc. and made sure it is marked as a compilation.  It still displays two albums instead of one.  This used to work on iTunes 10.  Is v.11 the problem?  Or did they change how to do this?  HELP?

I found out a way to resize the album artwork in windows.  Hold down Ctrl-S then click the album artwork and you get the old resizeable artwork which you can resize to your liking by draging the lower right corner of the artwork window that pops up.  Not sure if something similar will work in apple iOS.
I am using iTunes 11.1 on a windows 7 machine.

  • Since the latest update a previously combined album has separated and won't go back to normal...

I have about 30 singles downloaded onto itunes, each with its own individual cover, and each one renumbered and organised as part of an album. On itunes this is fine, they all play in order and everything seems okay, but everytime I sync with my ipod classic they split and duplicate into 5 different albums, each with a different cover from one of the singles contained within. The thing is, each album contains exactly the same songs arranged alphabetically instead of by track number, so I've basically got the same album 5 times. No matter what I've tried in terms of numbering the songs, completing the Artist, Album Artist and Composer fields, or ticking and unticking the Compilations box, nothing changes. As I've said, everything is where I want it to be according to itunes, but the ipod isn't playing ball.
I should mention that these singles had been successfully sitting as part of an album on the ipod for a year now, it wasn't until the first sync after the itunes 11 update that it fell apart.
    Help?

You seem to have activated the type on a path tool. Just hold down with the cursor on the type tool in the pallet, and you can choose the plain text tool again.

  • How to combine munltiple album songs under one ablum?

I have looked all around the iTunes Help section and just can't seem where to find out how to combine album songs under one album in the cover flow view. I know it's confusing so here is a picture of what I mean. The circled part is what I want to be under one picture.

You're on the right track. iTunes 8 is changed - you need to go to the Options tab to see the Compilation box.
Why Apple can't get their version control in check so that matching help & tech support articles are released the same day as new software, I'll never understand. It presents a very poor quality image.

  • Why aren't my album, album artist, or artwork changes appearing on my iPhone or iPad?

Fair warning, I'm pretty sure I have a mild form of OCD. I really like to organize my iTunes library the way I like it. Unfortunately the newer updates to the program have seriously hampered my ability to keep things looking the way I like.
That leads me to my question.
Why aren't the changes I'm making in iTunes appearing on my iPhone or iPad after I've sync'd them?
I spend a lot of time combining albums and matching their artwork, i.e. I've combined a lot of the Glee singles into several albums, but all of the work goes away once I've put the music onto any of my iOS devices.
I've changed the sorting options for everything and turned off my iTunes Match. I've made sure none of them are registered as compilations, but nothing has worked. They all look exactly how I want on my computer then separate into a million pieces on my iPhone and iPad.
If anyone has any insight into this, I would really appreciate it. I'm really close to pulling all of my hair out.

I had the same problem time ago but i discovery that not all songs are on itunes store so i did somethinbg easy, go find the songs you want on youtube or somwehere else then make a copy of that album then cut the image of album save into ur computer then go itunes select the song you want to add the albu, atwork go to the album at work tab then add the image you took it before and sync your ipad you will see the album at work in ur ipad, that is what i did and works for me.

  • How to merge albums in OS X Photos app

I imported my iPhoto library to the new Photos app. I see all my events (now called "albums") from iPhoto, but I'm no longer able to drag and drop one album into another. Is this no longer possible?
I understand I can create folders and drop multiple albums into there, but with how I organize my library, I'd prefer to just combine albums. It's how I did it in iPhoto and with how many photos I have stored in my library, It would take me weeks to reorganize them all.

Although you cannot "merge" albums like you used to be able to in iPhoto, you can Add Photos to another album. Just select the photos you would like moved to another folder and than choose the plus sign in the top right corner > album > change 'New Album' to 'The Events' and locate your previous album name that you would like the photos to be moved too > OK.
Now this will duplicate the album, so make sure to delete the original folder that is now out of place.

  • Album grouping not working consistently

After I've created new tracks for existing albums I want to group them with the existing albums. I do this by setting the album name and the artist and album artist to names of the existing album. Sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't work, the new tracks appear as a new album below the existing album.
If I "get info" for all the tracks in both albums, the album name, artist, and album artist are all filled in, so iTunes agrees with me that they are the same for all the tracks (it'd otherwise leave those fields blank). Drop the artwork in the box again and still...it wants to put the new trakcs in a separate album.
The way to fix this is to change the album, artist and album artist to something else (like, say, "stupid"), which puts all the tracks together, and then change them back. When I'm done doing this I have a combined album with the old name, just as I should have had to begin with.

  • Split Albums - NOTHING works!

I have albums that have been split up into separate albums.  I have done EVERYTHING!
I have set the album artist
I have set the album title
    I have set the grouping
I have set the track numbering
I have set the sort album artist
I have set the sort album title
I have checked the "Part of compilation" box
NOTHING works, iTunes insists on displaying them as separate albums.  Sooooo frustrating! Why is something so simple and basic so difficult?!  If every album title is entered exactly the same, and all other information is correct, why is iTunes just totally incapable of recognising that the tracks are all part of the same album.
And why isn't there just an option in a right-click menu that just says "Combine albums" so you don't have to faff around with all the resetting of album titles and stuff in the first place?!

    IheartMacs
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting dialogue select 'Choose Library' and navigate to whereever that Library is (usually in your Pictures Folder)
If iPhoto sees a valid library there it will open it.
If it doesn't, then you've got a damaged database file:
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums back.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.
