Combine Chat Logs from Each User

Hi there,
Is anyone aware of an add-on or method for combining the chat logs of each user into ONE file?
I very rarely leave chat windows open throughout the day, which means that if I have several conversations with one person, I end up with multiple logs for that person in one day. This means that if I need to go back and read someone's log, I have to search through multiple logs if I don't remember the exact time of the conversation that took place. I'd much rather look at one person's entire log over the course of one entire day (at least), if possible.
Can anyone help, or is this impossible? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Which version of iChat ?
iChat 5 can be set to display the Last Chat when opening a new Chat with someone (as long as you are Saving Transcripts as well)
iChat 4 can "Remember Open Chats across Launch" which means if you close iChat with a chat open that chat will also open when the Buddy lists appear/iChat is restarted.
I am not aware of anything that can merge several Chats though.

  • Printing chat logs from an ipod touch???

    My daughter has an ipod touch and has downloaded Goober chat to her ipod. It does store chat logs is there any way these chat logs can be printed? If so please state directions in detail as I don't know how to use the ipod touch clearly. Thanks for any help in advance!!
    Also if not knowning how this can be done could anyone tell me where I'd get support for this. Do I need to search for Goober support, which I have and could not find any support for, or is this something i need ot contact iTunes for because they supplied the app? I really really need ot print these chat logs!!

    i believe there are apps which enable you to print from the ipod. i've never done it though and i dont know if you would be able to
    do you know if your daughter's iPod has the 3.0 software upgrade on it? (it was a paid upgrade, perhaps you paid for it?) if so, you would be able to copy and paste the chat logs into an email and email it to yourself (assuming you/your daughter has an email account set up on the ipod)
    to copy and paste, you would need to tap the 'goober app' icon. find the area where chat logs are stored, double tap the screen, then click select all.
    here is the link to goober support:

  • How do I find my saved chat logs from Messages?

    People who have Mountain Lion and have "Messages" know that you can't "Save" a chat anymore manually, so I just deiced to save all of my chat logs, but where do I find them on my computer?! Somebody online said you have to go to finder Libray/Messages/Archives but I cant even find my "Library" in my finder!!!! I can't take Mountain Lion........ somebody please help!

    Hi,
    Your Home Folder/Library/Messages
    Access using Finder > Go Menu > Hold down ALT key > Select the Library that appears > Open Messages
    You will then need the Archive folder.

  • Combining iTunes libraries from two users.  Will this work...

    My wife and I have use separate Macs in the past but have lately decided to combine into one iMac and keep our Macbook as a computer either can use. We use the same iTunes account, but she has her purchases, I have mine and we have the stuff we both like. I want to consolidate the two folders into one to get back the space from files that are duplicated. It seems like I could do the following:
    1. Import the music from my wife's iTunes library to mine.
    2. Delete the files that are duplicates in iTunes (i.e. "check for duplicates" then delete the ones with today's date.
    3. Remove (not delete) any imported files with today's date.
    At this point, I should have a folder with every song we have, but only the ones I want showing up in my library
    4. Open my wife's account account and point her iTunes to the new folder.
    Presumably, all the files will be in the same general path location, so her iTunes shouldn't care about whether they were actually the files I had on the iMac or she had on the Macbook (as long as they have the right name and the right location).
    Would this then allow us both to maintain our own libraries, but work out of one folder, saving space?
    PS It goes without saying that the folder permissions would be set such that we could both Read & Write.

    Hi LaVonne;
    Yes it will work. I just did the same thing moving my music from my PowerMac Quad to mt brand new MacBook Pro.

  • Generate logs from user report options

    Hi all !
    I would like to know if there is a possibility to generate logs from report user selection:
    E.g: users can fill execution options to delimit the scope of the report execution and the output, company code, date ranges, account numbers, cost.
    - Is there a way to generate logs containing these report options that  were typed / filled by the user for every transaction executed?
    - If Yes could you please assist?
    Thanks in advance for the cooperation!
    Regards,

    There is a way of doing this using the object history, but the user can control this themselves and turn it off if they want to.
    Read the SAP notes on term "RSSGOSHIRE".
    Another way is to use parameter transactions or variant transactions, which the user cannot change or only change selected parameters for which you don't care about.

    Sankar, your outbound send connector has an address space of *. So when you run "Get-SendConnector", you will see something like the following:
    Identity                                AddressSpaces
    Enabled
    Unix System Connection                  {SMTP:*.domfreebusy.contractor.hunti... True
    Outgoing SMTP Connector
    {SMTP:*;10}                             True
    Mailbox Journaling Connector            {SMTP:pdwastap01.huntington.com;1}      True
    The middle one with the {SMTP:*;10} in my case (you may have a different number than 10 in yours) is my outbound connector. So yours will show an address space of {SMTP:*;<some number, 10 is the default>}. HTH ...

  • Copying library from one user to another

    I have 2 Nano's. 2 very different song preferences. I want to keep the two libraries separate but right now all of the songs are in one library. I am tired of unchecking and rechecking every time we want to update one iPod.
    Question is: If I consolidate the library to the other user (in Docs and settings) then go to that account and delete the music not desired, then come back to the original and do the same along with changing the itunes location to point to the account in documents and settings will I ruin anything?
    My basic question is if I consolidate do I lose the pointer to the original location? I want the same library in both users and I will manually delete the songs from each user so they each have their own library.
    Keep in mind that all of the CD's were loaded and are presently in 1 library which is driving me nuts.

    Hi beeb,
    Jeff and I both use a mac not Windows so I hope this will work.
    When I had to do something similar I found the folder on my hard drive that contained the album I wanted to move. I copied that to the hard drive of the other machine and then used the Add to Library command in iTunes.
    This worked but I lost my ratings and my play count.
    Give this a go to see if it does what you need. Copy only, don't move, then you won't be any worse off.
    If it does work then you can move things around.
    One thing to be wary of is if an album has multiple artists - they are in different folder for each artist. Well they are on the mac
    Hope this helps until a Windows expert comes along.

    Send a Notification to an AD hoc Role consisting of many users , wait for a Yes/No Result from each User and an additiona comment ,
    register the yes / no reply + coment  of each individual user on a follow up table .
    After all users have replied , Proceed to next activity where I'll check the results on the Follow up table .
    I Think this could be implemented using the Expand Role check box on the Notifification but I do not know how to exactly implemet it .

    Regarding long mp3 bookmarks. (my experience with 9780).
    I had the requirement that when playing long MP3s (audiobook/podcast) I don't loose my place within the MP3. I am able to update the list of MP3s without loosing my place in the currently playing one. I don't loose my place when connecting the BB to a PC with the USB cable and using USB synch to copy files to the SDCard.
    All of these are accomplished by playing MP3s via File Manager/Play Folder feature.
    If you use play lists or other methods directly through the BB media player, you will loose your place as soon as you switch off the BB, escape the player, or connect the USB cable.
    If instead you use the file browser to go to the folder with the MP3s you wish to play (I have all my podcasts in one folder that I update manually) and select "Play Folder" from the context menu, the media player will open.
    If you escape the media player that is opened as per above, the last point in the played MP3 is remembered. This even survives any synchronization I do to the folder via USB or a soft power reset (ALT CAPS DEL). It remembers the spot in multiple MP3s to boot.
    This is a great handy feature. I'm glad it works with the 9780/OS6.

  • Multiple users logged into one server, each users printer has a different name, application needs ONE name to print to.

    Multiple users logged into one server, each users printer has a different name, application needs ONE name to print to.
    I'm NOT in any way a Terminal Services expert and I need help trying to get an application program working in a multi-user environment.
    The issue is that the printer changes for every user that is logged in. The application needs to print NOT to the default printer, but to a "special" printer which is selected in the application... let's call it a label printer to simplify the explanation.
    You have your default regular printer, easy for the application to find that one, and then you have a special printer that labels get printed onto. The application needs to know what printer is the label printer. So we allow the user to select that in the
    application and the selection is stored in a config file in
    C:\ProgramData\mfgr\prog\setting files
    I don't have access to the application so I can't change how this works.
    In the "regular" world, selecting the label printer driver to use should be per machine, NOT per user. When a new user logs into a machine, the physical printer doesn't go "poof" and a new printer suddenly appear. Same printer for all
    users.
    Yet in terminal services, the physical machine is "merged" with the virtual machine on the server. And there can be many users logged in at the same time. So each users real machine (and real printer) is injected into the "fake" terminal
    services machine. The name of the printers is made unique for each user. So the printers DO go "poof" and change names depending on the user logged into terminal services.
    So user "A" logs in and sets up the application to print to "LabelPrinterForUserA" (or whatever the name of the printer happens to be), that setting is stored in the ProgramData subfolder, and all is well. Later, user "B" logs
    in, and when they print, the application tries to print to "LabelPrinterForUserA" which doesn't exist for user B or is only accessible by user A. If user B re-configures, that breaks it for user A.
    SOLUTION 1: The way that /should/ work (in my mind) is that you define one "generic" printer in Terminal Services... call it "Virtual Label printer" and when the user wants to print to it, the print job gets re-directed back to whatever
    physical printer is actually connected to their local workstation. There is a map of virtual printer to actual printer depending on the current user. The application is told once to print to "Virtual Label Printer" for all users.
    SOLUTION 2: Or... there should be some way to make the ProgramData sub folders separate per user. E.g. when user "A" tries to access:
    C:\ProgramData\mfgr\prog\setting files
    they actually get
    C:\UserData\UserA\AppData\mfgr\prog\setting files
    and user "B" gets
    C:\UserData\UserB\AppData\mfgr\prog\setting files
    So the question I have is: Does either of those solutions exist hidden somewhere in the setup of terminal server? Or is there another way around this issue that I don't know?

    I don't really have a "for sure" answer to this, but because people here can't seem to deal with a question that hasn't been answered I'll provide the best answer I did receive from ServerFault.com user Nathan:
    I can feel your pain with using old software on terminal servers ...the solution I've come up with definitely won't scale as it requires some manual configuration, but I've gotten this method to work with our label printers (which require to be
    printed to an LPT port...yep, that old).
    Share your USB-connected printers to the network on each machine. Then, have the user log in on aunique session for each of them
    (a TS account cannot be shared among computers for this to work) and install a network printer pointing to the USB one they shared. Try to use a DNS name to account for possible DHCP movements.
    After, it should work. Each user can do this since display names can be identical as long as the ports are different (which they are).
    This was clarified by the following series of comments:
    I think you are on to something here, and I originally advised the admin to do this. The problem he ran into is that it setup the printer names in the TS as "printer on usersworkstation"
    and he could not rename it except to change the "printer" to whatever. E.g. the "on userworkstation" remained. I believe there is another way of installing the printer which avoids this, but I can't find it. Ages ago, one used to do NET
    USE LPT2 \\computer\printer password /USER:domain\user /PERSISTENT:YES and then tell the driver to print to LPT2 –  James

    @JamesNewton That's actually the exact method we used. The way around the "network printer" part is to install it as local printer and map it to a TCP/IP port that way. –  Nathan

    You mean in the case where the printers are TCP/IP connected and not local USB / LPT to the users workstation? That makes sense. Wonder if this will work for USB connected printers... –  James

    @JamesNewton You'd share the local printer on the client's PC then on the server connect via TCP/IP to it. You'd need static addresses or use DNS names if DHCP, though. –  Nathan

    Ah. Yes. I see. Looks like the LPT thing should work even with a USB connected printer:superuser.com/questions/182655/… –  James

    Working on a single computer with multiple users, I have set things up to allow each user to view and listen to the others' music libraries under the "Shared Library" function.  Can you then connect an iPod touch and copy music from a shared library?

    Was your wife logged into the libray at the time you tried to log in? I have had a similar problem and it was because another user was logged into the library when I attempted to. I got the permission denied banner.

  • How to share or combine logging from multiple projects?

    I'm working on a documentary project now with over 300 hours of footage. It was shot to AVCHD media on SD cards and were copied over to a hard drive. Three different people have been logging the media in the Log and Transfer window. We each have our own project file that we're logging into since we are all using our own iMacs to do the work. Since storage space is an issue, we can't just pull down all the footage into ProRes. Ideally we'll just take our selects directly out of log and transfer. Once it comes time to edit, is it possible to combine the logging information into one project, or does the logging metadata only exist in the project it was created in?
    I've tried several ways to combine the project files (XML, Batch list exports), but none seem to transfer the logged info from Log and Transfer (all the XML and Batch lists do is import the footage that has already been transcoded to ProRes.
    thanks!

    Toastmilk wrote:
    the perfect solution would be if FCP treated clips logged in Log and Transfer the same as it treats them in Log and Capture... creating an offline version that can be batch captured later.
    How about something close to perfect?
    (You may to far along in your workflow for this, but...)
    Transfer your clips to OfflineRT settings using just a card number and clip number (so, the fifth clip from first card that you shot would be named "001 005" - the naming needs to be very straightforward and easy to reproduce). This will get your clips into the project file where you can add markers and log notes as well as copy and paste between project files. And, the files will take up a modest amount of disk space (less than 2GB per hour).
    Assemble your rough cuts.
    When you're ready to work at ApplePro Res, use Media Manager to create an offline edit a your ProRes settings (be sure not to trim unused media - the clips must match in name and duration), retransfer your clips at Apple ProRes using the exact same naming convention (it can even be in a different project or on a different machine), reconnect to the offline project, and then finish your edit.
    This is much more hands on than one might want, but it'll work.

  • Logging info about user, when deleting user from IDM

    Hi,
    I would like to be able create a report showing deleted users the last month.
    The problem is that I also need to fetch the user fullname, and some other IDM attributes as additional columns.
    This is not supported with a standard audit log report.
    So I would guess that I have two options:
    1. Somehow log information while the user is deleted. For example, somewhere in the "Delete User" workflow.
    But I can't find the values I'm looking for there. They are not available to me. (a user view for example).
    And it also seems hard to pass those values from the "Deprovision Form" to the "Delete User" workflow.
    So my question is here: How do I get access to a user view in the "Delete User" workflow, is that possible?
    2. I can get the values by looking directly in the audit log for each deleted user. There I can have a look at the ACCTATTRCHANGES to see what the users name was.
    But if the AuditLog has been cleared, then that information might not be available.
    I'm stuck..
    Anyone here that has an idea of how you can fetch deleted users fullname?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Henrik

    Hi,
    One possible solution can be to add a handler in the delete user workflow.
    For every user that is to be deleted, write the requird information in a file/database. In your report query the information from there and geneate it.
    Note: You have to add condition to check if the users was properly deleted from IDM and resource (just to be sure) and then write/store the information in the File/table.
    If you want to store the information in the auditlog only, there is a column called comments that you can use, for this also, some customizations is needed in the Delete User Flow.

  • Get a list of users logged on each server node in a clustered environment

    Hi,
    does anybody know if there is way to get a list of users which are logged on each server node in a clustered environment. Or maybe is there api for that so I could write an application which does that?
    Regards
    Ladislav

    Hi,
    about the code I was looking at - easily you can find out that these iviews are components of <b>com.sap.portal.admin.monitor.par</b>. The thread Thread Overview is implemented by: <i>com.sapportals.portal.admin.psm.PortalServerMonitor</i>. In <i>getThreadsData</i> method there is a parameter <b>portalMonitor</b> so it led me to this code in <i>doContent</i>:
    /* 143*/          IPortalMonitor portalMonitor = (IPortalMonitor)PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources().getService("com.sap.portal.runtime.application.monitor.PortalMonitor");
    /* 144*/          IPSMData psmData = portalMonitor.getIPSMDataInstance();
    So I have found <i>com.sap.portal.runtime.application.monitor.par</i> and there is a service implemented by <i>com.sapportals.portal.prt.service.monitor.PortalMonitor</i> where is <i>com.sapportals.portal.prt.service.monitor.MonitorCommunication</i>. And this is a service which calls all the nodes in the cluster around asking for info about the threads, requests, ... Here is a method <i>getMonitoringData</i> which works with object <i>com.sapportals.portal.prt.service.monitor.MonitorData</i>. Here in method <i>getThreadOverview</i>:
    /* 396*/          ApplThreadOverview oATOs[] = OverviewMonitor.getApplThreads();
    So in this <i>OverviewMonitor</i> the method <i>getApplThreads</i>:
                 public static ApplThreadOverview[] getApplThreads()
    /*  50*/          return ApplThreadMonitor.getApplThreads(false);
    from here:
    /* 130*/          ApplThreadMonitor hlpAppl = TaskMonitor.getApplThreadList();
    and this <i>ApplThreadMonitor</i> has:
                 private String userName;
                 private String reqName;
                 private String taskName;
                 private String compName;
                 private String action;
    So if you can get this (when the most of the classes mentioned is not in API but CORE part) on each node and ask for it from one place you got the user list at cluster nodes...
    In fact there can be a shortcut to get this info, I have found this ;o)

    PS: and thanks for the stars!

    If you click the - sign in Mail preferences, it will delete that mail account. If you just delete the Mailbox, that will just delete the Mailbox.
    Each user can put their own email account information in Mail when logged into their User Account.
    If you don't want the other user's mail account to show up in your mail application, then make sure the other user's messages are available to them when they are logged into their account and delete the other user account from Mail in your User Account. The other user can do the same when logged into their user account. Any messages stored in one locally will have to be transfered to the other's user account if it's not saved in their user login.
    In addition, instead of deleting the account at first, highlight the account and open the Advanced Tab and disable the account. That email account will dissappear from Mail. Once you decide that you don't want the account, you can delete it. If you need to get back to it to transfer messages, just re enable it.
