"Combine supported files in Acrobat..." is missing for TIFF

Just upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit (Acrobat 8) and my right click Combine is not available for TIFF's anymore
I tried running regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat Elements\ContextMenu64.dll" but no luck with that either (error code 0x80070005)
I use this all the time so being unable to use it now is a pain! Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Acrobat 8 is not certified for Win 7 64 bit, so this may just be the first issue you will encounter.

I'm having the same issue. I got a new PC, insalled Acrobat X pro and when I right click on an Office file, I could not combine or convert Office files to PDF. I upgraded to Acrobat XI and still no fix. I triled to convert or combine office files to PDF from within Acrobat and I get an error message saying "Acrobat does not support the conversion of one or more of your files to PDF. Please remove these files or go to Settings and choose the PDF Portfolio option".
I've tried to convert or combine Office 2003, 2007, 2010 and 2013 files and none work. The weird thing is that the option shows up for Excel .csv files. Even more werid is that I have the PDF tabs showing in the Office applications.
I contacted Adobe support via chat and they were unable to help. I was directed here, so any help would be great.

I just completed an installation of Acrobat 9 and the 'Combine Supported Files in Acrobat' menu option on my folders is no longer available. Can someone tell my how to re-enable this option?

I found the answer myself.

"Combine supported files in Acrobat" right-click funtion is slow or locks up system since upgrade to Office 2013

I have several admins who have for years combined quantities of large Word documents into a single PDF by highlighting them, right-clicking, and selecting "Combine supported files in Acrobat." Until recently, they were all using Office 2010 Pro Plus and a variety of versions of Acrobat - Standard 9, Professional 9, Standard 10. They said it was quick and painless. We've recently deployed Office 2013 Pro Plus, and they are complaining that doing the same thing they've always done is either completing but yeilding only the first document in the resulting PDF or rendering their systems unresponsive. I have reproduced their issues and have found some evidence online of Possible incompatibilities between Office programs and the Adobe Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin add-in, however Adobe's list of Compatible web browsers and PDFMaker applications indicates that Office 2013 supports PDFMaker versions as old as Acrobat 6, and we are not that outdated. Any suggestions? This is crippling their productivity.

Only the updated Acrobat XI supports Office 2013. The updates are necessary to address the changes to OFFICE introduced after Acrobat XI was released (OFFICE 2013 is more recent than the original AA XI release). No other versions of Acrobat can be used with OFFICE 2013 other than printing to the Adobe PDF printer.

The "combine supported files in Acrobat..." option either disappears or doesn't work

I have tried searching for an answer on this with no joy!
We have documents that we regularly produce here that are a mixture of Word, Excel and PDF documents, all combined into 1 PDF. Currently we have to convert each document into PDF individually, then combine these into 1 large PDF.I have tried several different file types for the word documents (i.e. .doc .docx .dot) and in every case either the "combine supported files in Acrobat..." option disappears from the right click menu, or after moving to the 2nd page in the "combine files wizard" under "Warnings/Errors" they come up with the error "cannot convert file type to PDF. Please remove this file from list."
This is happening on several PCs, some with version 8 and some with version 9 of adobe. We are using office 2007 in case this is relevent?
Any ideas how we can change this?

I checked for the same. The .dot file extension does not support the option for 'Combine files to Acrobat' when combined with other .doc and .docx files.
You might need to first convert it into PDF and then combine it with other files.

Usually, When I have documents that I want to combine, I select them and then right click and choose the "combine supported files..." options.
However, from one day to then next the option is not there.
Your help would be most appreciated.

Apparently Adobe installed an update and my computer needed to be reset.

Combine supported files in Acrobat 10 Pro fails for password protected files

I use Acrobat 10 Pro and wanted to combine a number of pdf-files to one big file.
It failed because the files in question have a permission password.
After I bought Acrobat on first creation of a pdf-file I was asked set a password
for reading and/or modifying it.
I decided to set no password for reading, but one for modification namely
<christian-name>.<surname> . I noted this down.
When I got the error indication after I tried to combine some pdf-files I tried
to remove the permission password. I was asked my password, but the program
refuses to take it.
What can i do, except to scan all the invoved pdf-documents once again, this time
without any password. It's quite a lot of them.

Combine supported files... problem (Word 2007, Acrobat 9, Windows 7)

Print > Adobe PDF within Word produces pdf file that faithfully reproduces the Word file (that is, this process works as expected).
RClick context menu 'Combine supported files in Acrobat' produces output characterized by incorrect letter spacing and incorrect typeface (font) output among other issues.
Various possible resolutions have been tried with no success (PDFMaker option changes, output resolution (dpi) changes and so forth).
The same results are obtained when using the combine feature from within Acrobat Pro.

Footnotes in tables were the problem with my doc as well. I tried the option of saving the doc as a Word 2003 file, but it didn't help. I chatted with Adobe Customer Service and was provided this fix:
In Word 2007, click on the Acrobat ribbon
In the "Create Adobe PDF" panel, click on "Preferences"
In the "Settings" tab, under "Application Settings," UNCHECK the box next to "Enable Accessibility and Reflow with tagged Adobe PDF"
After that, I was able to create the PDF, and the table of contents and external hyperlinks all worked. The footnotes were no longer hyperlinked, but since they're on the same page as the items they're referencing, that's not really a problem. Cheers,

"Combine supported filed in Acrobat" doesn't work for Office docs

Windows 7 x64, Acrobat 9 Pro, Office 2010. I used to be able to select the context menu action "Combine supported files in Acrobat..." on multiple Office files, and it worked fine. But I recently had this computer reimaged, and now what happens is that, instead of automatically converting all the files to PDF then merging them, it instead converts the first file, brings up the save-as dialog for that file, then nothing. It just stalls out, displaying "Converting..." next to the first file and never moving on.
The only difference between my computer now and before is that before I was running under an admin account, while now I'm running under a restricted account, with elevation available as needed.

Acrobat 9 is not supported for Office 2010 files. See this compatibility page:

Perhaps prior to the re-imaging, you were using Office 2007, which is compatible with Acrobat 9?

Combine supported files is not automatically opening and closing source applications?

On my Vista 64 machine, suddenly, the "Combine supported files in Acrobat" has begun malfunctioning. Instead of automatically opening and closing the source application (such as MS Word), Acrobat opens the application and then asks to save a new PDF file for each source file and stalls out the conversion. This problem is not happening on my Win XP machine. I have used the 'Repair Acrobat Installation' function but the problem is not corrected.

Just to close out this thread, the bug was fixed with the latest version of Acrobat Pro Extended (9.3.3).

Combine supported files context menu missing

After upgrading a Citrix server environment from 32 to 64 bit users have noticed that the "combine supported files" option is missing from the context menu. Both servers use the same version of Acrobat
I tried this command from an administrator login at the console.
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat Elements\ContextMenu64.dll"
Still no luck. Anyone have any suggestions?

How to convert/ combine supported files (tif) in Acrobat

This function is a tried and true tool I use "all the time" successfully in MS Windows Explorer. Now the option does not appear after selecting files. Must get it back!

You can use the Combine Feature in Acrobat for this.
You can also open a Acrobat and drag all of the TIFF files into the Acrobat screen to create a PDF
If you no longer are able to do this, try repairing Acrobat and check.

Combining supported files by number

Hello. I'm new to this community and to the adobe software. I've tried searching for similar posts, but couldn't find any. Kindly help me out
I have more than 50 numbered images and I'm trying to combine them to make a pdf file, but they don't get listed the way I want them to.
I click on the "Name" button to get the files sorted in the ascending order but this is what I get. It's like Acrobat includes the file extension as part of the file's name and gets confused with the dot and the number. Or something else. btw 12 images are only a part of the whole thing, so please don't tell me to move up and down so many pages XD
Print to PDF takes so much time and it's always much more massive in size. I won't die from having to print it, but if there's a solution I would like to know. I'm using Acrobat 9 pro. Thanks in advance.
Edit: I found a solution. I can rename the files so they have the same number of digits as the rest like 01, 02, 03,...,10, 11,... Then Acrobat will sort them in the numerical order I want. And there is a custom made Java program by Gilad D (try67) that also does the work.

Combining png files with Acrobat 9 Pro reduces image resolution

Combine creates a PDF with much lower resolution than what results if I insert the png images into an existing PDF. I choose the highest resolution option I see on the Combine screen. Inserting the png files one at a time is too time-consuming for 240 of them.

In most word processors, and EPS file is displayed as the bitmap image that is included if one is present. Many EPS files are only vector images and in that case you simply get a place holder. Typically the image that is displayed is a bitmap just to give an idea of what is there. You might consider opening the EPS file in Illustrator and saving as a different vector format, possibly just a EMF file (or WMF). That should look fine in WORD. You could even clip it from vector viewer of the EPS file.
If you are successful on getting the vector graphic into the PDF, you will find it can not be dealt with as a standard graphic. I am not real good with the vector graphics that get into the PDF in terms of touchup and such.

Lens Profile Missing for Tiffs

The lens profile for the Nikon 28-300 is listed under Lens Corrections when using raw files. But if you import a Tiff or a PSD, it's not there (other lenses ARE there)
Any way to get that profile to show up when working with tiffs or psds? thanks
I'm using LR 4.1

Each lens profile is originally generated either from Raw or from non-Raw test shots. Accordingly, the profile is marked as suitable for correcting either Raw, or non-Raw pictures taken with that same lens on that same camera format. So it will either show up, or not, in the automatic lens profile detection of LR or of ACR depending on the type of file involved.
Generally speaking, only Raw specific profiles are made available for many lenses... because that is the principal demand. The usual case will be that lens correction has previously happened, from the original Raw data, as part of Lightroom's general processing that has gone into any TIFF created; hence, that TIFFs can be normally assumed not to be in need of such.
This separation of two kinds of lens profile is clearly necessary in some cases; for example where aberration correction will have been already applied by the camera, but to its JPG output only; and/or, where LR is doing some (possibly different) automatic lens correction "silently", for Raw - as with its support for some m43 systems.
However where this is not the case - where no prior correction is in question - a Raw-specific lens profile can be "kludged" so as to be perfectly usable with TIFF, JPG etc - which is far better than nothing.
The way to do this is to make a duplicate copy of the profile (.lcp) concerned - changing its filename slightly to suit. Then in a text editor, in this copy, change the line which refers to "CameraRawProfile" from True to False. That's it!
If there is some double correction going on, the option is also there to selectively disable profile-based correction of vignetting, or of geometric distortion, or else to disable CA removal, as appropriate - and to then save that option into a preset or as your LR processing default.
