Thee are 3 BW/BI systems in my company for some years. Now we plan to combine the 3 BW systems into new BI System. for exp we have A, B , C BW systems( each system having BW 3.X And BI7.0 Objects) and each system having diffrent kind of Source ssytems(like R/3, FF, CRM) . Now we want to combine all these 3 (A,B,C) Systems into new One lets say D System.
So can any body suggest what approach need to take care before proceduring further . Do you have any document/suggestions for this kind of project?

How to consolidate BPC system into existing BW system

Hi
We have BPC system running only BPC (extract data from BW) it is
801sp02 (abap/basis 731 sp5) and we have also a BW system 731sp8.
Now we want to have just one single BW system, and to integrate the BPC
functionality into the BW system.
1) Any advise on how to consolidate BPC system into a BW system (technically any implementation
wise) ?
2) What are the implementation consideration? How to transport the BPC configuration and
transaction data from the BPC system into the BW?
3) Technical basis wise seems to be simple to me, just import the BPC addon and SPes using SAINT (done already)

Hello,
As you mentioned you can use SAINT to install BPC in your BW system. After installing BPC then you can use UJBR to backup your environments from the other system and restore them in your new BPC system.
My only recommendation is that if you are going to upgrade BPC you should do it in your source system and after testing then do the backup and restore to the new system.

Migrate Dataservices source system to new source system type in BW 7.3

We have upgraded our BW system to 7.3. In our old 7.0 environment we have linked Data Services 4.0 as an external source system. Now in BW7.3 we would like to migrate the developments on the old source system to the new source system type.
Does anyone know if there is any migration tool which we can use for this?

How to map BW DEV system to new R3 system

I need to map our BW DEV system to a new R3 system. Currently, BW DEV is connected to the R3 Client 200 and we need to map to R3 Client 300.
I created the Source system for Client 300 in BW and replicated the DataSources.
Is there a way to get all the transfer rules and infopackages that are setup for Client 200 moved to Client 300?

I've another suggestion. Try this:
Why don't you simply change the client in the RFC-connection (SM59) of your source system in BW? You don't need the connection to client 200 anymore, don't you?

How to call a FM of Non R3 system into an R3 System

I have a requirement to call a FM which is available in CRM System into a FM of my R3 System. Please let me know the way in which i can meet this requirement.
Note : My CRM System is not Integrated with my R3 System and these two system has no relation between them.

Hi,
You need to create an RFC connection between the r/3 and crm systems.
Then from the source system, do call the FM, in the destination paramter give the rfc connection name...
This will invoke the remote FM..(Note the FM being called should have Remote enabled in the attributes..)

I need help for combining the continuous Date1 and Date2 if same ID? What formula or method I can do?

The idea is to eliminate the continuous or repeated records for the same person. The ID indicates a person, Date1 is an open date, and Date2 is a close date. If ID are same, and the date1 is equal to the previous date2, then we keep the earliest date1, which is the previous open date (date1) here and keep the latest close date (date2) if date2 is not empty.
However, empty Date2 means it is not close yet and I am going to take that rather than other Date2 if it is the continuous cases or same Date1 for these records with same ID as well.
If the open date (Date1) is after at least 3 days than the previous close date (previous Date2), we treat it as a new record and it is not continuous even though their ID are same.
I am able to compare two records at a time, but I have no idea to do it when it happens across more than 2 continuous records and not even mention to delete these records and arrange their open date and close date.

Else ToText ({table.ID}, 0, 0, "", "") & ToText (table.DATE1}, "MM/dd/yyyy") & ToText ({table.DATE2}, "MM/dd/yyyy") ;
If Date2 is null then it build a string with just ID and Date1 otherwise build a string with all three fields.
Now you can group on this formula to get the distinct values.

Delta are pointing Old BW system instead of new BW system

Hi,
We are doing upgrade and as part of upgrade BI 7.0 we have copied existing BW system into new BW system.
I have a extracted data from R/3 to BI system.All the full loads went through successful except Delta data load into BI system.
Delta data source are pointing Old BW system instead of new BW system.
I have checked RSA7 where all the deltas are pointing to Old BW system instaed of new BW syste.
I beleive some thing might have happend during System copy from Old BW system to New BW system.
Please correct me if i am wrong about my scenario
I would like to delete delta init which is pointing to BW old system and would like to do new delta .
For that i would like to delte entries in R/3 source table ROOSPRMSF,ROOSPRMSC.
In BW side RSSDLINIT and will extract data using full update and then will do delta init without data transfer and do delta on it.
Please some advise me which is best way
to check with basis do ask them to correct it,other wise deleting deltafrom delta queue.

You have to check the TRFCQOUT table to see if the Delta queues are still pointing to the old system ID.
Using ABAP program you can change the System ID. you can use the below code by creating a custom report( executable Program) you can change the System ID's . You should have done this before pulling delta's
anyway, you can try to change and see if you can pull deltas.
Tables: TRFCQOUT, RFCATTRIB.

Should I combine two 1Tb drives into one logical 2Tb drive or use one 1Tb drive for system/apps and move /users to the other 1Tb drive? (I'd like ease of b/u too.)

I have two 1Tb drives in my Mini, the first is full and the second one empty. (I've been using the 2nd for Time Machine but the full source from dirve 1 soon has Time Machine complaining.) I am contemplating whether to form one 2Tb logical drive from the two 1Tb drives or segregate their use, i.e. use the first 1Tb drive to hold the system and applications while moving the /users directory tree to the second 1Tb drive?
I'm assuming both are straight forward to do accomplish but have nagging doubts about segregating drive usage, will moving the /users directory tree to the second 1Tb drive:
impact apps which might otherwise expect to see particulat fies and directories in specific user related locations on the system drive;
hinder backing up (by having to setup two separate Time Machine activities)?
Finally, is there a better 3rt option?

The supplementary questions would arise should I NOT chose to combine the separate drives into a larger logical one but to keep one of the two drives for system/apps and the other for users data... I assumed that segregating drive usagel like this might reult in issues with apps which might expect to see some user directories/files on the same drive as the system/apps. similarly, with two physical drives, I'd be looking to managing separate Time Mchines. (I have a few 2Tb pocket drives for backups.)
Final question - if I do combine into a single logical drive (for system, apps, /users ... the whole lot), would I have any problem getting this logical one working from a Time Machine backup? I ask that this backup was taken from the 1Tb physical drive and now I'd be looking to put it back onto a 2Tb logicl drive.

How do I combine multiple pdf's into the one document?

A Printer told me awhile ago when i bought in some stuff, that I can combine the pdfs all into the one pdf. Can anyone tell me how you do that and also can I do this with pdf's that are different document sizes? I am making an inviation, program, place cards and certificates for an awards ceremony, and wanted to know if I can combine all my pdf's into the one big pdf, even though they are are all different sizes.

If you combine PDF files in Acrobat, remember that when you save your new larger PDF with save as command, it will be saved as PDF version that your Acrobat uses, in Acrobat 9 that will be PDF1.8. Some printers want PDFs to be PDF1.3... in those cases you need to optimize your PDF´s compatibility back to PDF1.3...
Personally I don´t understand why that is required, because usually reason for that is Transparency, or fact that printer doesn´t want any Live Transparency in those PDF files. But if PDFs have been made properly, theres no live transparency there in the first place....
Anyway, I have bumped in to that requirement few times....
