Combing Events in iPhoto... On the iPad

Combing Events in iPhoto... On the iPad. On the iMac I can combine events by dragging/dropping. How might I do this after importing events into the iPad?
Thanks...

I talked with Apple Support.
The iPhoto app on the iPad is not the same as iPhoto on the Mac.
It doesn't support adding keyword tags.
Possibly a feature to be added in the future.
I have iCloud enabled for PhotoStream.
So my iPad picture was sent automatically to my download folder on my pc.
I can take it from there into PhotoShop Elements and add the tags.

    That's it.

As far as I know.  This cannot be done on the ipad (or any iOS device for that matter).  It can only be done on a mac.

  • Organizing Albums in iPhoto on the iPad/iPhone

I have an iPad Air and an iPhone 5, and prefer to have my photos arranged by Albums, Not "events"  But in iPhoto on these, when I look at the album view it arranges the albums alphabetically, whereas I want to  have them arranged by topic - the topic organization I choose.
I edit and create the albums in iPhoto on my Mac, and have them organized the way I want there.  Why doesn't it keep that arrangement of the albums?  I can't find out any way to rearrange them the way I want them.
Why can't we organize things the way we want?
By the way, it is much easier to edit and organize o nthe mac, with its bigger screen and extra screens.
Also, is there a way to have Photos, or iPhoto (on the iPad & iPhone) access the keywords and titles I have given them in iPhoto on the Mac?
    Thanks

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
iPhoto 8 (09) and earlier- run the options indicated
iPhoto 9 (11) and later- run  Option #4 to rebuild the database
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager (iPhoto 8 or earlier or IPhoto 11 and later) and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the
File ➙ Rebuild Library (iPhoto 8 or earlier)
    or
Library ➙ Rebuild Library (iPhoto 9 or later)
menu option to rebuild the library.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

How do I split pages in a journal in iPhoto on the iPad?

You're nearly there:  Home button twice to get the list of recently used apps (they're not running) and swipe the large thumbnail above upwards to remove the app.   (99% of the time this activity is unnecessary.)

Thanks for your reply. I looked in the Video app but it is empty. When I connect the iPad to iTunes on the iMac and look in  Apps > File Sharing > iPhoto, the video that I added is in iPhoto on the iPad but I cannot actually find the video in iPhoto on the iPad.

    You are welcome.
Sorting and organizing photos on IOS devices is one of the things that really need to be improved. It looks like the developers simply did not expect the users to want to keep large photo libraries on an IOS device, where the ordering would matter. I'd send feedback to the developer team, so that they see, what the users want and need:
You can use this form:  Apple - iPhoto - Feedback

  • Iphoto on the Ipad

Can you use Iphoto on the Ipad yet? When it first came out you were not able to load it on to an Ipad. There was talk of it being added in an update at some point. Did that ever happen? Its one of the vital programs I need on it.
    Thanks

So basically I cant have Iphoto on my Ipad. That *****! I need the photo organization that I get with Iphoto like it is on my laptop. The current Photo program does not let me organize it like I need to. Unless they have made changes to it since the last time I stopped by an Apple store (the sales person did not know his shoes from his socks at the time, so that did not help). I need to organize my pictures by category, not by date taken. For example: Category: Wood projects, then type: (and there are many)vase, glass, bowl, bottle and so on, with many pictures under each type. The current Photo program just wont cut it. Is there anther app I should be looking at?
Its my one and only hold up for not getting an Ipad. I have the same issue with my droid, but the Astro app fixes this issue on the droid.
    Thanks

  • In downloading my Events from iPhoto on my Mac to my iPad Air, the Events arrive in the proper order but not showing the Key Photo.  At the same time, the Events arrive in iPhoto on the iPad in totally random order but showing the Key Photo. Why?

In downloading my Events from iPhoto on my Mac to my Ipad Air, the Events arrive in Photos in the correct order but not showing the Key photo. At the same time, the Events arrive in iPhoto in a totally random order but with the Key phto showing. Why? of course and is there a way to shift the order in Iphoto and get a Key photo in Photos?

HHi, thank you for the reply. I have checked my iPad and iPhone and neither has iCloud Photo Library (Beta) enabled. Turned off in both. Photostream is turned on.
i tried to sort it out  by dragging all the photos to Events on the Mac and then deleting them from iCloud - (left hand side of iPhoto under the section 'Shared'). the photos now show up in Events. I did force quit but the issue remains. The message reads ' photos are bing imported to the library. Please wait for import to complete.'
i can't empty iPhoto trash either. The message read "Delete error. Please wait for import to complete.'
WHen I was moving the photos to the Events I always had a message about duplicates - to the effect that the photos already existed, did I want to import them? I clicked on Yes, import all duplicates. But when it showed the images - duplicates side by side - one showed the photo and the other was blank.
I really don't know what to do! And I don't know how to handle my iOS devices. Is it to do with the large number of photos? Any help, advice appreciated.

  • Can you edit the "events" in iPhoto on your ipad?

I've finally figured out how to sync iPhoto from MacBook to iPad, now I'm having trouble editing the photos in the albums or events. Seems like I can only move them around on my computer but can't move any photos on my ipad. Is there a way that I can organize these on my ipad? First world problems I know but since I have more time on the iPad it just makes sense that I arrange them in here. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

There isn't an Aperture or iPhoto app for the iPad (it comes with a basic Photos apps which is effectively just a viewer), and the photo editing apps that do exist are fairly basic : cropping, brightness, rotation, straightening etc e.g. the free Photoshop Express app from Adobe (which also has an in-app purchase option). You can use the iPad for reviewing photos but if you tend to do extensive editing then it's probably not suitable.

  • Iphoto and the Ipad

Does anyone know if the Ipad will get the Iphoto program like the new Iphone did when they do the new update? The current photo program ***** as I cant organize the pictures the way I need to.

That is correct, if you have a folder on your computer tiltled " event A " containing photos " image a to z " when you use Airsharing HD to drag your folder over to the iPad it will appear on your iPad with exactly the same naming/organising structure. You use the app to view the images, you can either view them as single images or a slide show, in fact these images will not be seen in iPhoto at all as the app makes a dedicated storage area that can only be accessed through the app. This has the advantage of not depending on iPhoto for syncing, you can drag as many files/folders to your iPad without concerns that maybe iPhoto will overwrite any previous images. Another feature that may be of help is that " your " image name or number is also displayed when viewing an image on the iPad rather than iPhoto saying 3 of 40 etc

  • How do I email an event from iCal on the iPad?

Hi, how do I email an event to someone from the iCal app on the iPad? Does it populate in an email?
    Thank you,
    Chris

Actually, the Invitations button is for incoming invitations.  You send an invitation with the "Invitees" button in the Add Event screen.  In any event, I never set up these buttons and I never consciously linked iCal to any email package but I have both of them.  For some reason, they're missing from the OP's calendar.
The only thing that I can think of is that I do use MobileMe email (soon to be iCloud email). Note to rbrylawski and Clowndz - do you use MobileMe email?

  • I try and save a photo (from Path) and it downloads but does not download (save) in iPhoto. The iPad I am using is new, I could perform this task on my old iPad. Why the difference?

I cannot save a photo on my new iPad (from Path) to iPhoto. The phot appears to download but then does not appear in iPhoto. I can perform the same task with my old iPad. I can also save an emailed photo to iPhoto. Thanks

Right click on the photo in Safari and use the add photo to iPhoto option - if that is not there then your only choice is to save to disk and then import to iPhoto

  • Order of streaming images in iPhoto on the iPad

I would like to know if there is a way to set the order of the photos in photo stream using iPhoto on my iPad. It seems the default view is to have them go from oldest to newest. With a 1000 photos that is a lot of scrolling and why I would want to see my oldest photos first instead of my most recent - welll that makes no sence. So is there a way for me to adjust for that? Thank you.

You can't in the Photos app itself, though there are third-party apps that allow you e.g. PS Express (though the saved rotated version of the photo will be put in the Saved Photos album).

  • Deleting Photos from iPhoto on the iPad

After selecting photos in iPhoto in the edit mode the Delete button is not active. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

  • Does iPhoto on the iPad support the use of an external editor?

I would like to use an external editor in iPhoto on my iPad, but can't seem to find anyway to do this.
    Is it supported?

iPhoto for iOS is not quite like the desktop version. It does not have the ability to directly send photos to an external editor but the photos it shows are simply your camera-roll photos. Any photo editor app should have access to your camera roll and all your photos. When you save out an edited photo you'll simply get a new photo added to your camera-roll it will not repalce the original. As long as the editor app you are using saves out to the camera-roll iPhoto will be able to read those newly edited photos.
