Combining 2 or 3 datasources

Dear Gurus,
i ahve a concern regarding a report which pick data from different datasoruces.
Let says we have report A which contains information from Datasources S1, S2, S3.
By just merging the datasources in a common infosource, we will have the the objects from the 3 sources available but not with the correct data.
How could I integrate the 3 sources so that the data are correct populated?
Is it necessary to have a common key in the datasources which identify the dataset? And if not what will be the approach?
I am working with sd, Billing, SCM, and so on no HR man.

Go to the Trackpad settings, go to more gestures. On the "Swipe between pages" click on the drop down arrow and change it to the last option "Swipe with two or three fingers." You'll be able to swipe with 3 fingers between photos left and right. Two finger swipe no longer works as far as I can tell.

Combine and map datasources

In Oracle BI I want to combine two datasources and then map them to a third datasource.
Combining the two datasources, both with the same structure, works fine. To do this I use the option “Fragmentation Content”.
Also using one datasource and map it to the third datasource, works fine.
But when I combine the two datasources to the third datasource I get the following error:
[NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occured. [nQSError: 46008] Interne fout: File .\DataType\SUKeyCompare.cpp, row 714. (HY000)
Does someone know if this is possible of that I am doing something wrong?

Delivery split depend on Shipping point ,Ship to party , Forwarding agent , Incoterms & delivery date at item level .
Check Tcode VTLA
Suppose line item 2 has different abaove mentioned parameter than one in the sales order then it will create two different delivery .
This is control by routine in Copy control . It will all these detail and then copy the data from order to delivery .
Sma is the case with Invoice split . It is also control in Copy Control by a routine in the field VBRK/VBRP --- 007 in Tcode VTFA at item level.
Invoice split depend on Payer , Billing date, Incoterms & Payement terms at header level and item level.
One imp thing u can create ur own routine with some additional criteria for split to happen .

Dataflow targets for SAP BW Datasource have different names in Dev/QA/PRD

I am using BODI to load from flat file into a SAP BW Datasource.
All is working fine in Development and I have transported my BW development to the QA environment.
In QA my loads don't work anymore.
The reason is that BODI refers to the 'Transfer Structure' of my data sources in BW.
These Transfer Structures have a different suffix in each SAP system (DEV, QA, PROD).
To have different suffixes for Transfer Structures is a standard SAP BW behaviour.
I was expecting SAP would use the unique combination Source System / Datasource as identifier for the target of a dataflow, not transfer structure.
I assume there is a work around for this, but I can not think of anything except either
- reconfigure the SAP BW implementation or
- re-develop my BODI DF's for each environment
Both options are high risk and will take a lot of extra work.
I have raised a SAP service message, because I think this is not working correctly, but I was wondering if anybody has dealt with this and knows an easy work-around?

THe only tricky thing is the configuration of the BW publisher. But you can find enough information about this in the referenced posting. Multiple universes as DataSource

Dear all,
We want to create a report in Design Studio based on 3 universes.
These universes use the same input parameters.
When we add 1 universe we have no issue at all.
When we add the second universe, we get an error message when we try to refresh the input parameters: "The status of "QUERY_DATA_SOURCE" "DS_xxx" may only change during command processing" (where DS_xxx is the name of the second universe).
And we get an error screen stating "Error in triggering the event "apps.state_changed"
We are using Design Studio 1.3

I forgot to mention that it is in combination with other DataSources based on BEx queries.
I also created a test report with only 2 DataSources based on universes and this works (without error messages - also when we refresh the input parameters).

Configuring Multiple LDAP Datasources in VDS

Hi,
I'm trying to configure multiple LDAP Datasources using VDS, one talking to AD and other to Novell eDir from VDS, my LDAP connection strings works well but when I start the service in VDS the service will never startup all I see is Exception null, it does not throw any exception at the same time it doesn't start up the service. I've tried configuring with signle Datasource which works fine. This is failing when I combine those two datasources into one configuration. Have any configured multiple datasources with in VDS. Not sure if you have encountered any problems.

Are you just trying to bring in two LDAP data sources or do a join between them?
Actually both I believe are considered types of joins.
You cannot just define two datasources and expect them to show up.

You may retrieve this information by:
1. Serach for SAP help it will show alll the tables for any standarad extractor.
2. You mayu check in fucntion module definition.
3. look for MC... name fileds in exrtact structure, it will give you few of the tables name.

Open Orders Values at partial delivery statuses.

Hello All,
I want to report on Quantities and Amounts for all the Open orders based on different Delivery statuses. I tried to use 2LIS_11_VAITM and 2LIS_11_VASTI. With this I just get the consolidated values at order item level but not the actual break up values at Delivery level.
Can I use 2LIS_11_V_SSL to get the partial delivery statuses and respective quantities?

yes the best way for you is to use the DataSource 2LIS_11_V_SSL. You have here the following status fields: LFGSA (Overall delivery status of the item) and LFSTA (Delivery status) and also the quantities like:
WMENG     Requested Quantity of Sales Order Sched. Lines in Sales Unit
BMENG     Confirmed Quantity of Sales Order Sched. Lines in Sales Unit
VSMNG     Delivered Quantity in Sales Unit of Sales Order Sched. Lines
Only if you need also Open Quantity you have to use a combination of two DataSources in one ODS Object. As example 2LIS_11_V_SCL. Here you will find the field OLFMNG (Open quantity to be delivered).
You have to consolidate the both in one ODS object with the same key figures and both should update different InfoObjects.

Creating Info-Package Groups

Hi All,
We are running a Job through Process chain. But due to some bug it is taking 4 Hrs to complete. We tried executing the Info-Packages manually. It completed with in 30 Mins. So we are planning to create IP group to trigger that Job instead of through Process chain.
Can you please explain how to create the Info Package Group and how to include info packeges in to the IP Group.
After creating IP group we have to schedule a Job to trigger this IP group which inturn triggers the Info packages.
If possible please explain the steps for the above process.

Procedure to create InfoPackage Group
Go to InfoSource tree in modeling of the Administrator Workbench and choose in the standard toolbar of the right area of the screen Show InfoPackage Group.
On the right-hand side of the screen, you will see the InfoPackage group tree.
Highlight a node of the InfoPackage group tree and create a new InfoPackage group using the context menu (right mouse click). This is always inserted underneath the highlighted node.
Select an InfoPackage (in the InfoSource tree in the middle area of the screen) that you want to transfer to the InfoPackage group and move it into the InfoPackage group you want by using drag & drop.
You can assign as many InfoPackages as you like to an InfoPackage group.
InfoPackages with the same selection conditions, same assignment for combination of InfoSource / DataSource / source system, same data type (transaction data or master data), and same data target cannot be assigned to the same InfoPackage group.
Alternatively to the above procedure, you can also create an InfoPackage group in the monitoring view of the Administrator Workbench. However, in this view it is not possible to insert InfoPackages into the InfoPackage Group.
You have created an InfoPackage group and have inserted InfoPackages into the InfoPackage group. You can now
Scheduling an InfoPackage Group
Choose Show InfoPackage Groups in the InfoSource tree of the Administrator Workbench Modeling, or choose the InfoPackages view in Monitoring of the AWB.
Select an InfoPackage group from the InfoPackage group tree and choose Schedule.
You arrive in the scheduler (InfoPackage group maintenance) with the InfoPackages and Scheduling tab pages.
Select the InfoPackages you want to load.
By default, all InfoPackages are selected.
On the tab page InfoPackages, number the InfoPackages that are assigned to the group according to the sequence in which the loading process is to be carried out.
For the InfoPackages, select whether you want the monitor to run a check during the data update to see if the first request from the list has been completely and correctly processed. Only then will the request for which this indicator has been set be processed.
Define a fixed delay of one minute for the individual InfoPackages. The delay represents the wait time until the next request is carried out.
Schedule the InfoPackage group in the background.

BO Universe : OLAP versus Relational

Dear expert,
I am new to this. And my current understading is:
- For using SAP as datasource, you can only have OLAP universe, and you can't really 'JOIN' data from several BW datasource. we can merge but not really 'JOIN' like those with data from relational database datasource.
- So, is having Infoset is the only way to 'JOIN' data from different datasource in BW system? Or there is other technique to mimic how we join data (or tables) from Relational database in a universe?

I am doing APD for some cases, but I wonder if we want to have duplication of the data in BW everywhere we want to have it combined with other datasource (e.g. sales data with finance data, then sales data with inventory, etc), we will have many duplicate data. While if we have many universes who can treat each datasource as relational source (but the universe it self is not keeping any data), this will be better? <-- i am still exploring if this is true :). Infoset have similar behaviour but not very good performance.

Created clone doesn't work??

I am doing a project on transmiting video and audio from a server to some clients. It works well on trasmission, but I would like to show the visual component on the server computer during transmission and I get trouble in here.
My original method is use medialocator "vfw://0" to form a DataSource. And then use this DataSource to form its clone. I use the original DataSource to create player for visual component. On the other hands, I use the clone to combine with audio DataSource to form a merged DataSource for transmission. However, as the result, the transmission is fail in this case.
If I use clone as player for visualcomponent and original datasource for transmission, the transmission works well but the visualcomponent is fail.
Can anyone give me some advices??
My code in creating clone is as follows:

andrew i worked on similar application, according to my knowledge
once the datasource is converted to cloneable datasource u must no longer use the original datasource , better create two clones and use them.

BusinessDocumentFlow usage

Hi All,
I am trying to make use of the BusinessDocumentFlow object to find all related documents to a Sales Order from Lead through to Invoice (for a report). However, it has no QueryByElement structure and no AlternativeKey element. And so I cannot use it for association either. (Please correct me if I'm wrong!)
The report requirement is to find all invoices raised against each Sales Order.
I know we can access individual related documents by using an association for each doc type but that will take a while to code and all the info is already there in Doc Flow.
I want to use this to avoid doing cross-deployment queries (as I am lacking the experience in this area).
An alternative route I am looking at is generating a datasource for the Document Flow object, then use that somehow but I'm not exactly sure how.
Any ideas?

In our situation a Sales order can have several Invoices (monthly basis). I need to determine at a particular point in time (comparing with the sales order):
how much has been invoiced;
how much has been paid;
how much is outstanding
- basic sum and difference calculations. With these value fields I can then build a datasource and subsequently join/combine with standard datasources to generate the required report
Report will have sales order id as key and will also link to some custom business objects I have built.
But my main question is about how to access the data in the BusinessDocumentFlow object.

Can anyone tell me how to combine two datasources?
How many datasources(max) can be combined to an infosource?is there any limit?
What is the difference between combining two datasources and creating a generic datsources which has all the fields of the combined ones?

Hi Ganesh,
As you have suggested one way of combining datasources, is through infosource, and as far as the number of datasources that can be combined, there is no limit as such.
We generally go for generic datasources when couldn't find any application specific datasource suitable to our requirement provided by sap.
Technically speaking if you have two application specific datasources which you would like to combine, you can do it through the infosource; and if you dont have application specific datasources available and you were to create two generic datasources and combine them, then it would be logical to make one generic datasource with all fields in it.

Dear Folks,
I created one ODS based on 2lis_02_HDR and 2lis_02_itm and other ODS based on 2lis_03_bf and 2lis_03_bf
here requirement is display a report with contract no,validity end date,material grp,vendor,pur grp,cost breakup(subtotal 1---6), Target value, and consumed value based on PO date
for that i am combining above two ODS.
My question is based on which commonfileds i have create an Infoset..
otherwise is there any other way to get the above fields..

Infoset works on join condtions
If you have two ODS with different granular level of Infoset is the better option
