Combining 24fps and regular 60i

Hi folks,
I shot an interview in 24fps on my XL2. I'd like to combine it with some video I'm considering shooting on regular 60i.
Using FCP, what is my best course of action? Should I bring everything into a 29.97 DV NTSC project? Or should I edit my 24 fps in a 24 project, save the project, and then import it into a 29.97 project? Or am I just completely confused on all of this an need to start over
FYI, the project is a wedding video shot as a documentary. I shot the interviews in 24 but am afraid it won't look good as a 24 project so I'm considering shooting the rest in regular video.

Here are a couple things you could try:
Shoot at 1080/24p, but edit in a 720/24p sequence. Since you don't need 1080p output, you're not losing anything here, but actually gaining. You have a little bit of reframing capability with the 1080p footage in a 720p sequence, and it's pretty simple to scale the 1080p shots to fit the full frame of the 720p sequence. As you're clearly aware, it's better to decrease the size of a larger format than increase the size of a smaller format.
Your time remapping workflow is fine, if you need variable speeds, but a quick way to match the frame rate of the 60p footage to the 24p sequence is to change its frame rate interpretation. Simply select one or more of the clips, right-click them or go to Clip > Modify > Interpret Footage, and look at the Frame Rate section. If you type "23.976" in the "Assume this frame rate" box, your footage will be interpreted as 24p and give you a nice 2.5:1 overcrank.
Exporting 60p at 24p will not give you the 24p "look." Instead, you'll get a stuttered export, because Premiere will have to drop frames to conform the 60 frames per second to 24 frames per second. The first frame will make it into the export, followed by the third frame after that, and then the second after that, and then back and forth between the third and second frames--it won't look good You can export with Frame Blending turned on and interpolate these frames, but that will not look that good either.
Hopefully, that gives you a little bit to work with. Experimentation will be the key here. Have fun!

As a logistics consultant .I know that I can maintain Min Order qty for a material + vendor at PIR level..
My question ..if I buy 10 items in a PO from a sinle vendor..is there any option to restrict Min qrder qty for these combination of materials..
or in other words vendor says he dont care about number of items ,but the lot lot should be min..10 cartons only..

A single report can't combine portrait and landscape oriented pages

Hi,
Can a single report in Crystal report XI (version 11.5.8.826) combine portriat and landscape oriented pages like Crystal report 2008? For example, I have one main report with several subreports in the main report. I want one subreport be in portrait page orientation and the other subreports in landscape. Can I do something like that in Crystal report XI version? I even tried writing a small .net program to do this, but it doesn't seem to allow me to do that programmatically either. Please help

I'd like to elevate this issue with Crystal Reports XI. There is a critical application which we developed in-house which needs both portrait and landscape orientation in each of the 30,000 plus documents we are sending out every month.If developers in Business Objects are picking this thread up - we need a patch for this limitation - quick. Right now, we are toying with the possibility of exporting the documents into a text format with markers indicating if a page is portrait or landscape. This is to be loaded into a Xerox machine (which costs hundreds of thousands of dollars), where it is mapped automatically to portrait or landscape. Note to Business Objects: This will provide us and countless others with much value. Think 80/20 rule - most bang for your development bucks and value for your customers!

You mean while creating a book in iPhoto? Click on the layout button while viewing a page and select the layout that includes both text and photos. Most themes will have those options.

Macbook 2GHz 2GB upgraded to Lion 10.7.4 - Now slow, heats up quickly and regularly stops responding

I have a 2008 Macbook 2GHz 2GB that initially ran on Snow Leopard, and I upgraded it to Lion about 6 months ago. Since the upgrade, it has become slow to start up, open programmes and regularly stops responding - especially when I'm on the Internet - leaving me with the processing colourwheel, and forcing me to turn it off by the button.
I have tried repairing permissions and it doesn't seem to make a difference, could it just be that I don't have enough RAM (only 2GB) to run Lion? I don't want to revert back to Snow Leopard because I sync my laptop with my phone using iCloud, and Snow Leopard would complicate that.
I have also noticed that it heats up especially quickly and gets very hot, although I'm not sure if this problem is related or something to do with the version of Adobe or Microsoft Silverlight that I run on my Macbook.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks a lot!

Honestly I would never run both Win 7 & XP at the same time in a VM. 7 needs at least 4GB to run properly and uses more resources then XP.
I personally use VMware Fusion and XP. At this time there is no software, that I'm aware of or use, that does not run on XP. So for my Mac Win VM purpose I only run XP with the software in need to use in Windows. This work very well for me. I have 2 CPUs and 3GBs of RAM assigned to XP. Leaving the other 2 CPU cores, 4 HT cores, and 5GBs of RAM for OS X.
Not sure why you need, or want, to run both versions of Windows at the same time. I don't see the need as stated above.

Combined Upgrade and Unicode conversion of Sap 4.6C to ECC6.0

my project team intends to carry out a combined upgrade and unicode conversion of an SAP ERP 4.6C system with MDMP to ECC6.0 (no enhancement package). The system is running on Oracle 10.2.
In preparation for this upgrade, I have gone through the SAP notes 928729, 54801.
We need to get a rough estimate of the entire downtime so as to alert our end users. From the CU&UC documentation in 928729, I read up note 857081. However the program in this note cannot be used to estimate the downtime as my system is < SAP netweaver 6.20.
Is there any other SAP note or tool or program that I can use to estimate the downtime for the entire CU&UC? Thanks a lot!

Combined upgrade depend upon number of factors like database size, resources on the server and optimization. In order to get idea of how much downtime, it will take, I would suggest you to do combined upgrade and unicode conversion on sandbox system which should be the replica of your production system. And try to optimize it. From there you can get approx. downtime required.

How to combine sales and delivery data

i have requirement to make a report from sales as well as deliveries. Important fields in report are sales document , material , plant , sales document type , country key , sold to party , ordered quantity , delivered quantity , price from vakon ( KBETR ), actual goods issue date.
The required extractors are 2LIS_11_VASCL, 2LIS_11_V_SSL ,2LIS_11_VAKON.
Problem is how to combine sales and delivery data as V_SSL has different key figures.Multicube is not the solution as dont have plant , sold to party and many other fields in V_SSL.
Kindly suggest how to combine sales and deivery data.

I guess you do have shipping point in delivery.
In most scenarios shipping point may not(or) may be same like order plant.
Although they are different you can still roll up the delivery information to order level by plant since you have order # available as reference key in delivery.
With this reference key you can convert all delivery information to order (item) level.
I guess you can use one merge ODS with one cube (or) with 2 ODS for each at order level for validation.
You may have to map delivery type to order type as per R3 configuration as well.

You can use the presentation variables to pass the value of the prompt into the report or any column formula.
In the dashboard prompt you see an option called "Set Variable" where and you need to give a name to the variable.(Say Var_value)
Now the value of the variable can be simply referenced using the syntax @{var_name}{10}. Here '10' being the defualt value which is optional you can simply reference using @{var_name} and you have the value of the prompts passed.

G/L A/C Determination for Drop Ship and Regular Ship of Same Item

Hello Friends,
We have a scenario,
Stock is Sales order valuated stock
For the same material, some times we do a drop shipment from vendor and some times we do a regular shipment from our plant.
Being sales order valuated stock the GL account (On the PR generated from sales order) for drop shipment is getting picked up from BSX. (standard SAP)
Our Finance team dont want the G/L account from BSX to be picked up.
Because the BSX G/L account is a finish good G/L account and we dont want to use that for drop ship.
How do we solve this issue?
What is the standard process to get the G/L account if the same material is drop shipped and regular shipped?

Multiple motion edits and opacity edits were made. When project manager moved the project, the actual video content of 0002.MTS to 0005.MTS was missing(source clips are still there but they were playing and working as part of that 0001.MTS timeline clip before). Those parts of the 0001.MTS clip in the timeline were Danger Striped and can be relinked but now have no edits anymore. The edits are apparently only linked with the original 0001.MTS source clip but extend beyond the actual range of the actual source clip. At the time I thought it was weird that premiere displayed the whole string of clips as one (with one name and no breaks) but it all works in the original project file but cannot be transferred to another location without multiple clips showing Danger Stripes.I need to move it and preserve the dozens of motion and opacity edits linked to the apparently oversized timeline clip. HELP!! any ideas?

Depends. If the page numbers can be located by their location on the page then a script can be written to redact that area, and then add new page numbers in their place (or somewhere else).
