Combining applications on memory cards

Hello,
I now have 3 memory cards for my Nokia E61, one that came with the phone, one that came with TomTom Navigator, and one that I bought. Each of these cards has a few applications/files that I use regularly. I tried to copy over the installations to the phone, but found it wasn't possible.
Is there any way I can combine the contect of all three cards into one? Thanks.

I am sorry but offhand don't know maximum size of miniSD that E61 takes.
Firstly I would suggest asking TomTom support whom are usually very helpful, about transferring files from TomTom 512Mb card to your new larger one. It is probably a case of enabling "show hidden and system files" on PC and copying contents of minSD using a card reader to "New Folder" on desktop and then back to formatted larger card - but check
The next problem occurs if any of the directory names such as "Private" by TomTom are used by any of your other applications, in which case you might have to add files to folder: otherwise won't transfer

Applications on Memory Card not working after Firm...

I have an N73 that I back up regularly, including the memory card.
My PC suite informed me that there was a newer version of firmware for my phone so I decided to upgrade.
I did a complete backup of my phone and card and then did the upgrade.
I then did a restore from the backup to get all my contact etc back again.
All applications that were loaded on my phone are working but none of the applications on the card will start.
Anyone got an ideas on how I can get them working again? Preferably without having to re-load as that will mean I will have to buy them again.

juz go to application manager. in it, u can see the applications u have installed previously are stating uninstalled. juz install them once again, n they will retrieve.

How to transfer applications from memory card to p...

I want to replace my current memory card for one of a bigger capacity but want to move the apps that are stored on it over to the new card. Not sure how to go about this or even if you can. Any help would be much appreciated. Rich

Hi, the best way is to copy the content of your old memory card to the computer.
Insert the card into your card reader, in the windows menu bar got to tools>>> folder options>>>view>>>>> tick "show hidden files.
This will make sure u copy the system files from the old memory card.
Now high light all the files on your old memory card and copy to your computer preferably to a folder u have created.
insert your new memory card into to the computer, and copy all the copied files back to your new memory card.
And you are good to go.
You can now revert back "the show hidden files" to "don't show hidden files" on your computer( I assume you are using windows)

How to remove "removing failed" on Memory Card

I installed "bloomberg", "Financial Di..." and other applications on memory card.
I formatted my phone Nokia E71, but I forgot to remove on my phone. So when I push my memory card:
- "Bloomberg" and "Financial Di..." are in Menu/Installation, but I can not run. I remove them, my phone showed that "File corrupted".
- Some applications do not appear in Menu/ Installation, I opened Application Manager to remove them, but my phone showed that "Removing failed".
Please tell me how to remove these applications.

I would have thought that formatting the card will get rid off those, back up your important stuff beforehand though.

how can you save applications to memory card...when you choose option move to memory card...the application move from phone to phone internal sd(sd 0)...not external memory card.am i donig something wrong.

Can't copy anything from internal to memory card

I have HP voice tab7 single sim.I can't install any application onto memory card.my internal memory is full now and it never asked me to choose which location I want to install my applications. Plus I don't wish to do rooting on my good lovely device to make it vulnerable for security threats. All my braniacs HP technical ppl plsss help me with any option. I already done lot of research on rooting but I'm in not favour of that....pls reply soon.my memory full.

Hi!, Punwet007: Welcome, to Forum !. If you have, in your device, OS Android 4.4.2 KitKat, you didn't copy, move, write, or, delete data from MicroSD card. My suggestion is ... download and install from Google Play Store the apllication ... File Manager HD and move your data, to Cloud, FTP (File Transfer Protocol) to PC or, LAN.

Nokia 6300: Lost memory card = Lost applications

Does anyone know if I can download the Collection software that came on the included memory card of my new 6300?
I somehow lost the microSD card and no way I'm i retracing my steps to try and find it. Ive ordered a bigger memory card but wanted to download the applications that originally came with the phone.
I've tried a few routes Nokia/Orange but no one seems to know. I'm looking to anyone out there who may have an idea.

I had the same problem and contacted Nokia help email,
Solution
1. Install Nokia PC suite on your PC.
2. Have original memory card with games etc on it in your phone.
3. Connect your phone by cable to your PC and select Nokia mode on your phone and File manager in PC suite.
4.Select 'memory card' in the window that appears and select all folders on the card, transfer the folders to your 'desktop' on your PC.
5. Place your new 1GB card into a usb card reader and transfer the folders from your desktop to the new card.
6. Replace the new card for the old and all should be OK, you are supposed to be-able to transfer direct from the PC to your phone but the 'Games & Collection' folders won't move !.

Lost Installed Applications on E71 Memory Card

I lost the Installations on my E71 Memory Card and would like to restore them. Can any one help me? Things like Scaner and other stuff. Kayus

Unfortunately, there is no way to recover the password in the latest S60 phones. The only way that I know so far is by reformatting the memory card.
Phone menu: It can be done from Memory Card application by selecting Options | Format memory card menu. Of course, you will lose all your data in the memory card
Phone to PC: Connect your Phone to PC in Mass Storage, and select your memory card and format it. This should work. But you will loose your data!

Copying memory card? Protected applications

I have a new 6300 and I have also bought a 2gb memory card to store music on. The problem is that it wont allow me to copy the 128mb card as the pre installed applications are protected. What can i do. The app's are Opera Mini, Converter, etc.

Hi you can try and copy them onto the phone memory then put in your new card then copy them back. If that does not work send me a pm and i will send you the stuff i have them saved on my pc.

Memory Card applications

I have recently updated my phone (N95-1) to version 21.0.016 however applications which I had installed on my memory card from before updating my phone now no longer appear in any menus on my phone, they do however appear as installed on the application manager.
Any help greatly appreciated!!

You have to re-install them again to make them work. This is normal behaviour.
For future reference it's always better to install programs and themes on the internal memory as this helps to improve the performance of the phone.

Finding Applications Hidden on the Memory Card

Hello All,
I own an E51. I've installed several programs like vBag and a medical dictionary on my memory card instead of the internal memory. Some of these programs don't show up in the Installations screen- only in the app manager. So how do I access these "hidden" applications?

For me, when synchronizing with Outlook with >15.000 contacts it doesn't sync all. Don't know how many it does - it doesn't say that, but the memory of the phone says it's full...

Mountain Lion combines video files from an external SDHC memory card.

I just installed Mountain Lion and was very surprised to discover when inserting a memory card from my digital camera (not direct camera to Mac but through the direct slot on the MBP) that all videos I took where combined in one single - huge - Quicktime file.
Clicking on it gives me an "Open Clip" window where I can launch individual video snippets. However several of these Massive files don't even work... (Upon clicking it gives me a "Could not complete operation" covered by a forever-lasting loading icon... (which never loads).
I'm wondering if it's a feature that can be switched off?
I haven't experimented yet, but would hate that the Mac sees all videos as a combined file, and maybe confuse the digital camera writing mode when I put the card back in the camera.
Any feedback is appreciated.

You're right - it's MTS files.
I had previously found the 'show package contents' right click but it doesn't seem to work consistently.
i.e. On one 'source' it works, on another it loads a blank page. When I access the second source on an older Mac (non-mountain Lion) it reads about 30 MTS video files which all work properly.
I really don't understand the logic in combining several hundred video files & create a composite huge file.

How can I install applications on my palm treo 600 using memory card and a reader???

I tried so many times installing applications such as games and other software on my treo 600, but nothing shows in the launcher. I don't have a hotsynch tahts why this is my only option. I can see theapplications I download from my laptop to my treo 600.
When I download using a pc, it is in zip file, then I extract it. Latly, copy paste to my memory card. Is there something wrong about it? Please help... I don't have any application on my treo 600. Its been a week exploring, but still don't get the answer.

HotSync is a program, not something to be purchased on eBay!
It is part of a free program from Palm called "Palm Desktop". Go to the pages Hook directed you to, download and install the program.
You can then install programs to your Palm correctly! You will not need the CD.
You will need a program called Documents To Go to easily use Microsoft Word and Excel files. This will have to be purchased from Dataviz.com. Be sure to look for a version that is compatible with your device.

Changing the default application to open memory cards

hi there, im trying to change the application that opens when i insert a memory card into my card reader. At the moment iphoto opens and slows my workflow down. can any one tell me how to change the application, or have nothing open at all when i insert the card?

Hi Russell,
In your Applications folder, you should find 'Image Capture'. In its preferences, you should be able to configure what to do when a camera/media containing photos is mounted.

HP Envy Touchsmart 15-J104sa Memory Card Reader not working

I took delivery of an HP Envy Touchsmart 15-J104sa running Windows 8.1 this week and the internal memory card reader isn't working. It doesn't recognise any SD cards (I've tried more than one) and continues as if nothing has been inserted; showing no error messages. All of the cards work on my previous HP laptop. The only way to get the laptop to show an inserted SD card is to run the driver update software (http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp63001-63500/sp63415.exe) every time an SD card is inserted; this must be done with the card in the reader. If the software is run and then the card is inserted nothing happens. If the card is ejected and then re-inserted (or a new card inserted) it isn't recognised and the process has to be restarted and the driver reinstalled even though nothing has changed.
Can somebody please help me with this issue or I will have to return the laptop to HP. I do a lot of photography so being able to read an SD card quickly and reliably is extremely important for me; it's not a problem I expected from a brand new laptop straight out of the box.

Unfortunately non of the driver updates solved the problem but a BIOS update through the HP Support application seems to have remedied the issue. Whilst I appreciate there were no specific drivers available I find it hard to accept that HP should be able to release a model where they know the hardware will not be fully supported by the OS and in this case not function.
