Combining more than two movies QT Pro 7.1.5

I know I can combine two movies with QTPro, but how do I combine three?

Hmmm .. that's what I thought. I can drag one to the player window and indeed it will insert at the end of what is already open. It simply will not add the next one.
This is the same behaviour as when I do this:
1. Open file in player
2. Put play head at end
3. Open another file in a new player
4. Edit>Select All, Edit>Copy (from new player)
5. Edit/Paste in first player - this is OK.
6. Put play head at the end of the now two vids
7. repeat #3 and #4.
8. Edit paste of the third clip doesn't happen.
It seems that the clipboard contains the second clip and inserts that.
Must investigate more.

I have been reading many texts about combining fact tables but i still haven't find answer to my question.
I have four fact tables that i would have to combine in to one. That's a simple task but is there anyway the to avoid joins when querying only one fact?
So am i waisting my time or is this possible?

I think this is possible. I have not tried this in my enviroment yet, but how about creating multiple LTS for these facts. I mean you could create multiple LTS (as per your queries of course though) for each of your facts and some combinations of them.
So, whenever there is only one fact table needed to be queried, BI Server can intelligently pick up the correct LTS but do not need to do an unnecessary join between the huge facts.

Using colorTrans:ColorTransform on more than one movie clip

Hi I am very new to Flash and action script so please bare with me...
I would like to be able to change the color of more than one movie clip in the same layer in the same frame. Basically I have place two different movie clips with defined instances,i.e. body and shoulder onto the canvas in one frame on the timeline.
I have created three different buttons (red_btn, blue_btn, and yellow_btn) to use to change the color of say the body or shoulder. I would use red and blue to change the body and say yellow and green to change the shoulders. These are also on the same layer and same frame on the timeline as the movie clips.
The problem I am having is how would I declare the two movies or variables to change independantly? Would I need to place one movie clip on one layer and then place the other on a different layer so that when I press the button I want i.e. the red button, it only changes the body and not the shoulders.
Here is my actionscript that I am using to change the color of the clip(s)

body here is my declared variable wich is the body of a shirt that is one movie clip. When you place both clips on the timeline ontop of each other, you basically get a shirt with different color shoulders and body.
I need some help to know if this is possible first of all, and then what would be the best way to delcare the variables in one actionsript.

every movieclip has a transform.colorTransform property that you can use to assign a color transform (with any rgb property). so, for example:

If you have Acrobat Pro, you can combine more than 12 files by choosing File > Create > Combine Files into a Single PDF. The 12 file limitation is only imposed by Adobe PDF Pack online service. Acrobat itself doesn't have such a limit.

Can I make a DVD that will go for more than two hours?

Hi,
I'm working in iDVD 08, version 7.0.1, and when I drop in video that lasts over an hour, I get a warning. The original videos are around 100 MB for each hour, and iDVD won't let me add more than two. It's saying my two 100 MB videos will fill the 4.2 GB of space on the DVD.
What can I do to have the videos stay at around 100 MB each, so I can put several of them on one DVD?
Any help is most appreciated.

iDVD isn't really designed to archive old highly compressed movie files.
DV video (for which iDVD was originally designed) runs about 13 GB per hour and iDVD mpg-2 compresses everything to fit a maximum of 120 minutes on a single-layer disc. (Your files are much more highly compressed than DV and perhaps are also smaller in image size.)
If you want to 'cram' a lot more content on a DVD (and don't care about the quality) you might want to look at VisualHub that claims to let you put up to 18 hours of content on a disc.

The way I read the Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite license (http://images.apple.com/legal/sla/docs/OSX1010.pdf), I am not allowed to run more than two (2) virtualized Yosemite guests on a Mac virtual host:
(iii) to install, use and run up to two (2) additional copies or instances of the Apple Software
within virtual operating system environments on each Mac Computer you own or control that is
already running the Apple Software, for purposes of: (a) software development; (b) testing during
software development; (c) using OS X Server; or (d) personal, non-commercial use.
There's no exception for running guests on a large Mac Pro, or anything like that.
I just want to confirm I'm interpreting this part of the license correctly? Thanks for any feedback!

Don't think that this will work, despite PSE 8 not being that old. Undoubtedly some of the security and file system changes in OSX 10.7 and 10.8 are at play here thast the installer can't cope with... Consider getting PSE 11.

More than two audio tracks?

Is it possible on iMovie to have more than two audio tracks? Is there a way I can add more? If so, how?

At the recommendation of Matthew Morgan and others in this forum, I took about twenty minutes and checked out garage band.
You can click on a movie tab, in which you can import your imovie project. Garage band gives you the option of, at least, 8 simultaneous tracks. You can record from your mic, mind you that's a bit tricky, you'll have to read the garage band manual, but like I said, it only took twenty minutes to configure everything.
Once everything's recorded, you can export to imovie. I didn't try that, but I know it absolutely can be done, and it shouldn't be hard. That will give you 9 tracks at a minimum, plus your video's sound as a 10th. Pretty cool stuff.
FYI, it's not enough to have your mic selected in sound preferences. You'll want to go to Utilities and audio/midi setup and choose your mic AND choose it again in the Properties For tab. Once that's done, go to Preferences in Garage Band, click on audio/midi and choose your mic. Now, you're good to go. (I found this out under an "imic" microphone question in garage band help.) Awesome app.

Sharing More than One Movie with iDVD????

Okay.. I would like to know if there is another way to burn MORE than one movie an iDVD project. It seems that sending the movie straight to iDVD creates it's own project, and when you try to send another movie, it creates a completely different project. I know I can send a movie to Media browser but the quality of the movie is much better when I share it via the command in iMovie 09 (Shrare->iDVD). I've noticed that the file type is different when you send it to iDVD than when you put it in Media Browser as well.
Currently this is what I do.. Share it to iDVD.. Then I save that iDVD project to my desktop. I close iDVD, and start sharing my second movie. I then Control-Click on the first iDVD project and choose "Show Package Contents". I then dig into the trenches of that file to find the movie file. I then drag it to the desktop and delete the first iDVD project. When the new iDVD project gets made, I simply drag the file on my desktop into the iDVD project I want it in and then it works. This seems like a so un-apple way to do this though. I think iMovie definetly needs and update here. It's great if you ony want to burn a 1 movie to iDVD, but what if you want to do more. There should be a way to select multiple movies to send to iDVD or the option of adding a new imported movie to the current project in iDVD.
Am I missing something or is there another way to do this? Is there a good export option in QuickTime? DV doesn't work because the quality I get is horrible. Somehow the shared to iDVD movie is the best quality and it's a QuickTime file via h.264. Is that my best export option? Sharing with the Media browser creates a mv4 file that's much smaller in size, even at the largest setting. The frames are more jumpier when iDVD finishes with it than the h.264 file.
Any better suggestions? Also, where do I go to make suggestions for Apple. I can't find it anymore on this website.

Bug? My events on the iPad iCal app aren't shown in the year view if they are more than two years in the future.

My events on the iPad iCal app aren't shown in the year view if they are more than two years in the future even though I can see them on the month, week and day view. Any suggestions on how to fix it? I've tried it all. I called the apple support and they checked on their iPads. They all did the same and they couldn't help me. They suggested trying this way. I'd like to be able to plan a few years ahead and the year view would make thing so easy!

Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then restart the app and see if it works normally.
Then reboot your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Not able to Render more than two asset type in a drop zone on page

I have created two different assets by making two different flex family.
I need to render these two assets in a single drop zone on a page.
Can some one tell me how is it possible to make a drop zone on page which will be able to take two different type of assets because while creating Page attribute when i select page attribute of type asset there is no option through which i can select more than two asset types.

While creating page attribute on admin site,when we select attribute type as "asset" a dropdown list comes just below through which we can select only a single asset.
how to use a list option here or how can we create it so that it can be used with various asset types.
Also in avisports site there is no drop zone which can contain more than one asset of different type.
The Drop zone contains here all the assets of same type.

How can I burn more than 1 movie to a DVD when there is room on the disc for it. Premiere wants to overwrite once 1 movie is burned to the disc

How can I burn more than 1 movie onto a DVD? Once 1 movie is burned successfully to the disc, I try to burn another movie and Premiere wants to overwrite the first movie. One movie is 1.2 GB, second is 2.3; so there is room on a 4.7 GB DVD-RW.

What you report is what it is.
Each burn to of Timeline content to DVD-VIDEO format on DVD disc results in the disc containing one OpenDVD Folder and one VIDEO_TS Folder.
Only one VIDEO_TS Folder can be put on a DVD-VIDEO disc even when Premiere Elements is not involved. I have seen that written about online, and I have
never found a way to overcome what seems to be basic behavior description of DVD-VIDEO..
Premiere Elements will allow you to write to a disc with content already on it, but only after you give the OK for erasing the disc content before going ahead
with the burn to.
If you have several movies, one possibility is to build a Timeline with the movies, use stop markers, and setup disc menus according so that the viewer
can selectively watch the movies. More on that later if wanted.

I use the YouTube widget. It has the advantage of not loading clips until one actually selects the clip. When I started I just dragged the quicktime files to the page...not a good idea as it forced a viewer to wait for all of them to load.

It may be how much space is available on your iPad. The average movie is around 2.5 gigabytes. If you reach your space limit then you can't download anything until you clear space.

I think Justin is correct and you should have statistics in place and a reasonable partition scheme so that the optimizer selects the correct partitions rather than telling it what to do. You paid a lot for partitioning after all.
There are some, possibly misguided, examples in the manuals showing how to create a view so you can delete from a single partition without specifying the partition criteria in the delete statement. This in effect turns partitioning back into DIY partitioning i.e. separate tables, union all and pretend its a single logical table using a view. But backwards.
So to do what you want you just assume the partitions are separate tables, and then use union all to glue the ones you want back together.

select * from sales partition (sales_q1_2004);It probably goes without saying that as well as making the expensive version of partitioning behave like the free alternative, there is the possibility that it will perform like it as well.

Projector that plays more than one movie

How can I make one projector play more than one movie? If the movies are protected, can the projector still play them? How can I link them? Thanks for your help.

I’ll elaborate on Sean’s reply.
As Sean mentioned you can use:
_movie.go("markerName", "MovieName")
To jump to the marker named ‘Markername’ in a movie called ‘MovieName’.
I tend to still use the verbose syntax
go to "markerName" of movie "MovieName"
If you had:
go to movie "MovieName"
you’d jump to the start of the movie (frame 1)
you could use:
go to movie "MovieName.dir"
but the '.dir' is not needed and if you create a protected DXR or DCR, the statement (without the movie extension) would work.
Now, if you want to avoid writing a unique behavior for every link you’re creating, I’ve got a tutorial that describes how to do it at:

The above uses property variables and a parameter dialog box. It does require some understanding of programming (not too much though).
If you have D11.5, in the Library Palette, in the ‘Controls’, category, there is a ‘Jump to Movie Button’ behavior. This behavior can be dragged and dropped onto a sprite and then you can type in the marker name and movie name in a parameter dialog box to set the link for the sprite. I say D11.5 because while earlier versions of Director have this behavior, there is a small error (easily fixed) that makes the marker jumping part non-functional. Anyway, my behavior in my tut site does the same thing.
