Combining Partial Messages

My wife sent me an email with a .pdf attachment from her PC using Outlook Express. I received the message in three individual emails labeled as 1/3, 2/3, 3/3 with the following text in the message body:
"Partial message, part 1 of 3
To read this message, select all of the parts of the message and select the Message --> MIME --> Combine Messages menu item."
There is no option under message for MIME. How do I combine these messages to extract the pdf file.
NOTE: When I was also using a PC with OE these type of messages would automatically combine.
Thanks for the help, I'm very new to MAC.
Also is there a way to request a Read receipt?

Hi there,
I've had the same problem as you and I came here to look for a solution.
I found a solution to this problem on this board.
When you have a message that is truncated, just hit the green Zoom button on Mail's window, and then hit it a second time and the message should display properly.
Unfortunately this isn't a permanent solution but hopefully it helps you out.

  • MIME Partial messages - unable to combine parts to create the origional pdf

    Hi:
I have a scanner/printer emailing a pdf document to an imap mail account I check with mail.app. The printer is set to break up mail messages into 5mb segments - this allows mailing of documents to some companies that restrict mail messages sizes.
I did read through the threads in this list on this subject - none were solved, but appeared to be waiting for more information, I hope what I have collected below will help in this type of problem.
If this is no longer an option within mail.app, I may be able to script it in perl, called from applescript. Perl have a module to decode MIME parts.
For this particular message, it broke up the document into 3 parts.
    mail.app message window:
Partial message, part 1 of 3
To read this message, select all of the parts of the message and select the Message --> MIME --> Combine Messages menu item.
The text "select all of the parts of the message" is not included in the raw messages and therefore must be generated by mail.app itself.
Message --> MIME does not exist in mail.app version 2.1 (or 1.3)
Is there a way within mail.app to append/combine three mail messages

  • Combining two messages into one

    Hello,
I have a mapping issue, I have a business process in which I have to combine two messages into one.
To do so, I have defined a message mapping in which there are two source message types, and one target message type.
When testing the message mapping in the IR, it works fine, but when I define and test an interface mapping with that same message mapping, I receive this error message:
"Cannot produce target element /ns0:Messages/ns0Message1/MY_IDOC_TYPE/MY_SEGMENT. Check xml instance is valid for source xsd and target-field mapping fulfills requirements of target xsd."
What am I doing wrong ?
How am I supposed to combine two messages into one ?
    Thanks,
    Elad.

    Hi Elad,
Just see if you have included both you source message interfaces and one target nessage interface correctly in while doing your interface mapping.....
The most common mistake made when we do scenarios which include combination of two source message types into one target type are:
    - we forget to include both the source message interfaces.
    - or we interchange between one of the source message interface with the target.
Just see if either of the 2 is aplicable in your case and just activate all components as and when you create them..

  • Outllook clients sending partial messages, truncated text body

I am stumped on this one and could use a little help.
Several clients are experiencing partially truncated emails both sent and received.
It is happening on Outlook 2003 and 2010.
The Sent Items folder also shows the truncated email.
For instance, lets say I, Mike, type out a 1000 word email to my friend Jane.  Jane receives an email that might only have a few sentences and it might cut off right in the middle of a sentence.  I check my Sent Items and it only shows exactly what
Jane received which is much less than I typed.  Most of my text has simply disappeared.
I see others with similar issues but it is usually the entire message body that is missing, not partial text missing.
I have opened the sent item using the web interface and it is the same problem.
The Exchange server is 2010 Standard Edition running on Windows Server 2008 R2 and I recently updated all OS patches, Exchange SP3 and Update Rollup 4 for SP3 and my issue remains.
Also, I have documented at least 1 case where the sender and receiver both have Outlook 2010, although most of my users have Outlook 2003.
In addition to all the troubleshooting listed above, I have also used every known to me AV scanning tool such as Combofix, RKILL, TDSkiller, MalwareBytes, HitmanPro etc..  Nothing out of the ordinary found.
Here is a comment from someone else with the same issue.  This was copied from Experts-Exchange.com
Same here. Exchange 2010 Standard 14.3 build 123.4 in a Win2008R2 SP1 with all latest updates installed.
Also this user in this thread has the same problem: Outgoing emails truncated.
After I read his thread and your thread, I think that it isn't an isolated problem...
Outgoing messages bodies are truncated. When it happens, only few words or few sentences remained. The rest of the typed text disappeared.
Affected messages are shown truncated in Outlook and also in OWA sent emails.
The problem began 2 weeks ago, but now it's spreading.
For now it seems in my company that only Outlook 2003 clients are affected.
At the beginning only 1 person reported me the problem, so I thought it was an isolated client problem. I tried to reinstall Outlook 2003, but it continued. Then I tried to install Outlook 2010 for troubleshooting purpose, and in the last week that person didn't
    reported me any problem.
Then it began to spread. It happened to a different person. And then to another one. At the moment, 5 persons reported it. All these persons have Outlook 2003.
Maybe an automatic Windows update could have caused the problem in the clients?
    It's hard to find out.
It seems that the problem is present in emails that take a long time to write them. Maybe the affected sent email is the first one auto-saved... For testing I disabled the auto-saving (every 3mn) drafts function in the affected Outlook 2003 clients. They reported
me no problem in the last days.
But I told them to always check sent emails and to continue to do that.
I will report as soon as I have new feedbacks.
ANY help at all would be greatly appreciated!!!!
    Thanks

Turn off "Auto-save messages every XX minutes"
Outlook sends the saved portion, not the entire email.
Note: This partial message is not saved in Drafts, but in memory.
    Outlook 2007:
      1. On the Tools menu, click Options
      2. Make sure you are on the “Preferences” tab.
      3. Click the “E-mail Options…” button.
      4. Click the “Advanced E-Mail Options…” button (about half way down the window).
      5. Uncheck  the first checkbox “AutoSave items every:”
      6. Click OK 3 times to close all the windows
    Outlook 2010/2013:
On the Tools menu, click Options.
On the Preferences tab, click E-mail Options, and then click
    Advanced E-mail Options.
Uncheck the AutoSave items every: x minutes check box.
In the minutes list, specify how often you want the program to save your data and the program state.
If you set more minutes in there, you only postpone the issue.
    Turn it off.
Note:  IMHO it is better to lose work and know it, than to think you sent an email when you really did not.

  • BPM Combine Two Messages

I'm using PI 7.1, and I have a BPM that receives data and  makes a synchronous call to a database to insert and then return the number of rows inserted.  What I'm trying to do is get a hold of the number of rows inserted in order to add that number to the xml structure of the original message.
I am currently trying to use a transformation step that takes two messages as input (the original message and the number of rows updated) and combines them into one message.  This mapping works in the operation mapping test, but when I execute the BPM, the rows updated are not added to the target message as they were in the operation mapping test.
I can see from looking at the transformation step in sxmb_moni that the mapping is receiving both input messages, it just doesn't seem to be executing the mapping as expected.  I was under the impression that transformation steps were meant to be used for operations like this, so I'm assuming the BPM setup or transformation step is not configured correctly.
I would appreciate any suggestions or help that anyone could offer.
    Thanks!

    > 4) If you find that everything is fine and still the BPM does not work....make some dummy change to the BPM>save> activate and again test....may be some cache issue (if it is not a configuration one)
Thank you for the suggestions.  I've examined the workflow: the mapping step has been completed, and there don't seem to be any errors.  As I mentioned to Hanish a few posts up, the two input messages are both appearing in sxmb_moni in the transformation step as expected.
Checking the BPM in the ESR returns "No semantic errors found."
I've tried making minor changes and saving/activating several times, so I don't think it could be a cache issue.
Is it possible that I need a correlation?  There is only one receiver, but the synchronous send receives a message as well.  Do the two need to be correlated before the transformation step?
    Thank you!

I have a Blackberry 8900, and I recently switched from the Storm.  I made incremental weekly backups, however didn't notice my text messages were being deleted every 30 days and I need to restore/recreate them all on my phone for searching.  How can I do this?  I have used Dashwire in the past however it does not support Blackberry.  If I used the advanced feature in Desktop Manager, it replaces existing SMS messages.  Is it possible to "Save" messages without overwriting them, or can I use Windows to access the file like an Excel file?  Thanks in advance!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Unfortunately using the Backup and Restore feature will just overwrite the databases on the BlackBerry with the information in the backup file. It does not append to the data already on there.
There is software called ABC Amber BlackBerry Converter that can convert them from the backup file into a format that you can manipulate on your computer

  • Partial message processing

    Hi,
If i have 100 records in a file , each record needs to generate idoc.
if one record data is wrong in file , in XI  only that record will not generate idoc or complete message stops?
and no idoc will be generated?
bcz i have some scenarios in my project of following types.
    1) correct records should be processed, error records should not be processed.
    2) if one error record in the file entire file should not process.
can anyone suggests in both situations what are the best ways to do.
    regards,
    venu.

    Hi,
This might be one of the solutions: (using BPM)
    1. Have an interface mapping between the  source sender interface and the receiver abstract (BPM) interface.
This interface mapping does the required validations.
Ex: It might check if all the mandatory fields are present. And if the values of all the tags are correct.
If there is something wrong, you would set the status of a tag to 1.
    2. Within the BPM, after receiving the validated message, check if the <status> tag is 1, if so, stop the processing, else, carry out the transformation step to map the record to the idoc.
    3. After this, send the idoc to the target system, using the send step.

    Smitha.

    TIA

    Dazza,
Typically, attachments are said to be MIME, when Mail and OSX cannot determine the file format type. Nearly all attachments are in fact encoded for transmissions in MIME Version 1.0, but that is ignored when the file type can be determined from either metatdata (from Macs ) or extension (used by both Windows and Macs).
When the relative originally received these, did they have a known extension, or could they have had something like .dat? Does the family know what type of file the attachments are supposed to be?

  • Error ,message into table

    Hi all,
i am trying to put a error message into a table...any idea how i can get this without doing move 'matnr & is in error' into my table?

    Hi,
    There's a few ways you could do this;
Construct your message first (i.e. combine the message text and variables into one string, then move this into the table)
    or
Don't store the text, instead store the message ID, number and variable parts of the message.  This has the advantage if you're running a multi-language system the log can be used by users of different languages.
