Combining projects on FCX

I'm working on a film in Final cut x, but i want to edit it scene-by-scene and them combine them at the end, how can i accomplish this?

Hey Tom.  FYI - I'm in your FCPX 10.1 course now and paused to come search for this.
For the NEW student (new to FCP), as you unfold how Libraries, events, and all the many projects work, I was already wondering how the heck all these little specific "event project" were going to make a movie.
Thanks

  • Combining projects

    Hi folks,
This is not a specific PRE 8.0 question, but does anyone have suggestions on how to combine projects? Sometimes I would like to make a compllation of various projects for a friend and burn it to a DVD. Is there an opiton to combine projcects into one larger project using the original footage files or should I render to intermediate files first and than load those as footage into a new project? What would than work best, and keep quality a an acceptable level? My camera provdie 1080i 25p footage which I capture using third party software (HDVSplit) creating .m2t files that I use in PRE. I would like to keep the quality at high definition qualitiy.
    Any suggestions are welcome

For DVD (SD) Projects, just Share your Project as DV-AVI Type II file. Repeat for each Project. Then, just Import these DV-AVI files into a new Project.
    Good luck,

  • Saving clips and combining projects

    Good morning all,
I am a newbie so please forgive me if the questions sounds simple but I am having problems finding an answer. I previously used GoPro Studio however I purchased a Canon camcorder and I can't edit the files in GoPro. What I would like to do in Premier Elements is save highlight clips and combine projects. I record basketball games and make a highlight video of each game and also would like to save highlight clips of each player that I can combine at the end of the season. So, I am having issues with two things. First, I am able to create a highlight video of each game with no issues. However, I would like to combine several projects(games) at the end of the season into one project. I can open a project but how can I add a project to an open project. My second question. When I am editing a game how can I take clips of each player and store them into each players folder so I can use for a project at the end of the year.
    Thank you!

Please review and consider the following workflow which can be applied to sports and non sports events. It is not for just "high school" and has a wide range of applicability which can extend to slideshow media.

  • I Movie 09 can I combine projects into one project?

Can I combine 3 seperate IMovie projects into one so I can burn a short film to DVD?
I had three different people shoot 3 different sections of a short for me, now I want to put them in one project together in order and burn a DVD.

you can copy (copy all) the clips from one project and paste them into another clip, but music and titles will not come with that. If you export one project as a .mov file and then reimport it into iMovie as suggested, that will easily work, but you wont be able to edit that movie's music or titles.

  • Advice Needed - Sports Highlight Video - How to Combine Projects?

I am trying to create a Soccer Highlight Video of my daughter.  The purpose is to be able to showcase her skills in a video and hopefully generate interest from collegiate coaches.  I have recorded video of multiple games which are each about 80 minutes long.  I am guessing I average about roughly 2 minutes of submittable footage from each game.  Once the final video is complete, it will be posted on you tube and the link will be sent out to the appropriate college coaches.
I am currently working with each game separately as an individual project.  Once I have all the games editted, I would like to combine all of these individual game projects into one big project.  Once combined, I will then want to cut out a good portion of the game clips and just keep the really good stuff for the final product.
My biggest question is in regard to bringing each small project together for the final project.  Can I "publish" each project and then import the "published" product into Permier Elements 11?  Is there an easy method?
Any advice on how to easily do this would be very much appreciated.
(I am using Premier Elements 11 (trial version) and AVCHD video files taken with a standard video camera.  If I can get this figured out I will definitly be purchasing the software.)

The smartest way to work would be to set the Work Area Bar in each project so that you only output the segments of your videos you're going to use in your compilation. This will save you a lot of editing later as well as save you having to work with big, whopping files that you're only using short segments from.
The best way to do this depends on how you're going to publish your finished video. Is it going onto a DVD? BluRay? YouTube or other online site? Video for a portable device, like an iPad?
Each has its own best workflow.

  • Combining projects in premiere elements 13

I have created 2 short projects in the software on a Mac.  Each project is saved separately.  How can I combine them into one longer project?

For importing media into the project, in the Expert or Export area, you go to Add Media and select the appropriate choice for your situation.
For exporting your Timeline content, in the Expert or Export area, you go the area designated Publish+Share/ and make your choices and subchoices.
What do you want to do? If you post some details of your source and how you would like to export it (to file saved to the hard drive or to disc), I
will post information specific to your case.
Have you explored the Expert Guided or Quick Guided lessons in the program? If not, please click on Expert and Guided and review some of the

  • How to in imovie 10.0.2 combine projects from library into a movie then export to DVD?

Having trouble exporting imovie to a DVD.  Can it be done without additional purchase??   Does drag drop combine multi project videos to create 1 movie?  (I have not tried this so far, nervous I might loose my work)  Thank You for any help....

Thanks.  I now see that I need to go to File then start new event there.
And on the "updated projects" point, I'll have to play around with that so I can understand it better, I hope.
But on my last point, to clarify, I can access my iphoto videos using the CURRENT version of imovie, but when I use the LAST imovie version, I can only get iphoto videos that were imported into iphoto PRIOR to my upgrading to Mavericks (at least I think that is what has happened?!).  ( and I'm using the most recent version of iphoto in all instances)  Any other thoughts on this?  Thanks.

  • Is there a way to combine projects in Imovie

I am trying to make a dvr of both class pictures and a small video, is there a way to combine them so it will just run from one to the other

Sure, it takes some time to do but worth it.
Lets just say you have 4 videos.
Go to each of the projects.
    Export each of them.
    Then create a new project.
Then create a new event: name it: 'merge'.
Drag the 4 exported videos into event: 'merge'.
Then drag the 4 into the timeline and add a dissolve transition between each.
    Export the final project.
Once done, delete all separate 4 videos and delete the event: 'merge'.
Now you just have 1 video of all 4 merged together.
    Hope this helps.

  • Combining Projects in RoboHelp v5

I have two projects in RoboHelp 5 that I need to combine, in order to move them into Flare as one project. Can that be done in RH5?
The help only refers to merging projects when compiling and that's not what I need. I actually need to combine the source files into one project and hopefully keep indexes, etc. intact.
Can someone point me in the right direction for information or confirm whether this can actually be accomplished?

    Hi again
When you import, note that you are able to import more than a single file at a time.
And sure, there is usually always more than a single way to do anything. What I offered is the "RoboHelp" way. If you are willing to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty, you could manipulate things by copying files and editing some other files. For example, create an HTML Help (CHM) project in RoboHelp. Then compile it so you get an updated .HHP file. This is the master control file used by the Microsoft HTML Help compiler. You could then close the RoboHelp application and make some edits to the HHP file to include the additional topics. Once you are fairly certain you have them all combined, you create a RoboHelp project by pointing at the HHP file. You could then port that to Flare.

  • Combining projects into one project

    Hello Everyone,
Has anyone tried, or does anyone know if it is possible to combine two seperate projects to become one.  Now that we have Blu-ray and it is possible to pack a lot onto one disk, it would be very advantageous if I took a number of my 20 minute projects and combined them on one disk as chapters.  Thanks so much for your response! Kent

Normally, with SD DVD Projects, the workflow is to edit each Project, and then Export/Share to DV-AVI Type II files with 48KHz 16-bit PCM/WAV Audio. With HD Projects, there are some other considerations, such as working with AVCHD, or H.264 source files to start, and that the Project is HD, and not SD. These AV files are then just Imported into a new "master" Project for final output.
The Export/Share should not introduce any additional compression to the files, as they are already compressed upon capture. Each generation of compression will take a toll. I'd look at adding something, like the Lagarith Lossless CODEC. I believe that it handles HD footage, but only do SD Projects, so you might need to check this out. Another "likely suspect" would be the HDV CODEC.
Maybe someone doing this with HD source footage, and HD Projects can comment - there might be a better CODEC for the transfer files.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Combining projects into one movie

I've got a bunch of 3 or 4 projects that a client wants combining into one movie.
Is it possible to include a 'reference' to a project within another master project, so that when the original project is updated, the master is also updated?
    Does that even make sense?

Sort of. You can edit in compound clips inside another project. Make the contents of a project a compound clip. Copy and paste it into a master project. Open the compound inside the master. Edit it. Any changes will be in the master. You cannot directly rig a parent/child relationship between projects.

  • Combining Projects (Unmerging)

I inherited a merged help project that has six child projects with over 3,000 total topics. The help is for software that configures seven different devices. The menus, screens, and available options differ based on what device you have connected.
If I restructure the help according to device type it would make the information easier for my customers to find and reduce the need for conditionalized text. The information I need to do this is contained in six child projects. I was hoping that I could combine all to the child projects into a single project, copy that project once for each device, and then edit each project since it would contain the information for all devices.
I know I can manually add topics contained in a single folder. The problem is there are 580 subfolders among the six child projects. You can understand why I don't want to manually add the topics contained in each folder. Does anyone know of a way to combine all folders and subfolders among RoboHelp projects (other than manually)?

    Hi Scott
Happy to see you making progress!
I'm a bit confused, however, with your mention of "Renaming the Images folder". If this is RoboHelp HTML, you may see a "folder" inside the Project Manager Pod (depending on the view you are displaying) but that isn't really a folder in the sense that you may rename it and move it around from inside RoboHelp.

  • Combining Projects environment With Demand Flow Technology

    Hi,
I am working in the Projects environment with Discrete Jobs that include the project/task definitions.
One of our production lines is going to be converted to Flow Manufacturing, with PULL system and KANBAN (CARDS).
How can I work with Flow Manufacturing and combining the needs of project/task definitions ?
What is the oracle Application support for such thing ?
    ofir.

There was a resolution to this posted on the forum that always worked for us. Go into the viewcontroller project properties and select the Dependencies node. Remove the dependency with the Model, then right click the struts diagram entry and select Goto Code. At that point, it should work.
    Set this back later.
The other alternative would be to name/create the java class and then link it to the action inside the struts-config.xml via the source option tab on the struts config. Then you should be able to go in and edit from the picture.

  • Combining projects in to a one.

I am trying to convert finished projects back in to AVCHD files to be combined in to one HD project. For some reason, the conversions to not contain the audio, just static type noise.  The original projects were done with Pe9.  I now have and am using Pe11.  What is happening to the audio?

Glad to have provided a helpful answer. That is what we try to do with every post we make.
Merry Christmas and the happiest of Holidays to you, and yours, as well.
    Good luck, and happy editing.
