Combining separated songs

I imported an EP into my iTunes and it separated one of the songs from the rest and put it into it's own album. I tired going into the info and changing the artist name and album name so they would combine, but it did not work. What else can I do to combine this separated song with the others?

Another option is to copy and paste from the info panel for one of the songs in the correct folder to the info panel of the song which has been separated out, for the fields Diane mentioned.
If this does not work, try opening the info for the songs in the correct folder and the song on it's own, and re-entering the information in the fields provided. As you do this the check box next to the field should become selected, which indicates that a multiple edit has taken place.

  • Would like to know how to combine 2 songs

Is there a way to combine 2 songs so they always play one after the other? Specifically, Jackson Brown's "LoadOut" and "Stay". Essentially they are one song and play as such on the original CD. However in my 4Gen 8GB Nano, they play randomly when in Shuffle mode. I would like for them to play together no matter which mode the Nano is in. Any ideas?

Yes, but unfortunately, you need to combine them at the time you import them, they cannot be combined once they are in your iTunes Library.
So, you need to delete the two songs from your library and then re-import them. However, before you click on import, highlight the two songs (which must be adjacent to each other on the original CD) and click on *Advanced/join CD Tracks.* You will see the titles combine along with a small indicator. Then you can import them as one track.

  • I want to create a 10 minute track combining 3 songs then export as an m03 file. any help would be appreciated.

I want to create a 10 minute track combining 3 songs then export as an mp3 file. any help would be appreciated.

Pull the 3 songs into GB's timeline (the big gray area), they will appear on 3 different tracks (unless they are DRM protected songs from the iTunes Store.) You can push them around, cut them, etc. When you're finished, use the "Share" menu to send them to iTunes or save them to your disk, make sure you check the "compress" box and pick mp3 as the compression method.

  • Combining several songs into one album

I have numerous songs from different artists that I want to combine into one album, so that when I browse using either Cover Flow or Album View, all those songs will be listed under one album. After over two hours of searching on the Internet I found this very useful site:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304389
The problem that I am encountering is the one illustrated under the heading "Albums with various artists." After following all the recommendations, I am still encountering the same problem - each song is listed under a separate album. Anyone have any idea what to do? For the record I have already tried these remedies:
-Selected all the songs and changed the album name so that they all have the exact same album name
-Selected all the songs and changed the album artist name so that they all have the exact same album artist name
-Selected all the songs and set "compilation" to "yes"
-In Preferences, under the General tab I checked "Group compilations when browsing"
    Thank you in advance.

The albums will only show up under the same cover in Cover Flow if you are sorting by Album or Album by Artist.

  • Combine two songs to run consecutively in iDVD slideshow.

Does anyone know how two songs can be combined for a slideshow fitted to music duration?
Say one song 2 minutes and 1 song 3 minutes making 5 minutes in total.

It is simple - set up a playlist in iTunes with the tracks you want then import the playlist to the slide show rather than individual songs. In the media section when you seelect Audio you can open up the playlists by clicking on the triangle next to iTunes.
    Hope this helps

  • Combining single song files to one album

I had a couple CD's I wanted to add to my iPad, so I first imported them to itunes on my laptop. Later I connected my iPad to the laptop, syncing it up, but for the album "My Dark Twisted Fantasy", all songs that had a featured artist were split into a different album. Anyway to combine all the single songs together into the original album, for the visual sake of my itunes?

So, you're combining all the files at the end just for the sake of page numbering (page numbering that you can do in the book files anyway), and you keep the separate files for future revision? Seems incredibly inefficient to me and offers no advantages.

  • Combining separated text into single object ...

I remember in older versions of Illustrator that when you used pathfinder to combine multiple objects into a single object ... it actually made them into a single object, regardless of weather or not they where intersecting.
With the more recent versions of illustrator, when you try to "unite" objects in pathfinder ... the only ones that are truly combined into a single object are the ones that overlap ... anything separated will simply be "grouped" and remains a totally separate object ... even if you use "expand objects" on the group.
I'm trying to use a third party program (path styler) and the problem I'm running into is that when I apply a stroke effect in path styler, it treats every letter in my headline as a separate object (even when united in pathfinder), causing the strokes to overlap the previous letter.
What I want to do is combine all the letters into one single object (while still leaving space between each letter) so that path styler treats the text (and the outlines) properly. (So the outlines run into each other, instead of overlapping the fill.)
Any help would be appreciated ... this should be simple ... but I think it may be a case of the program trying to preserve the history of "united" objects when I don't want it to.
    Thanks!

Make your logo ONE entire compound path, you probably have each letter as an individual compound path.

  • Combining multiple songs into one

I've been trying to combine the Golden Slumbers Medley from Abbey Road into the full song that it's supposed to be but I can't find a way to do it.  Most of what I've found online either involves what to do when you burn a disc or instructions based on recent iterations of iTunes which is great because iTunes updated itself a few months ago (if I remember correctly) so there's nothing out there for the most recent version.  For instance, I'm finding a lot of stuff for 11.0 but I have 11.4.  I've also checked out Audacity but didn't feel like playing DJ so I'm just looking for a simple way of doing it, preferable on iTunes itself.  Any ideas?

I asked this a few days ago and got back the correct reply--use grouping. See:

  • Separating songs into folders and playing all random

I downloaded songs to my Zen Nano Plus player. Now I want to separate the songs into 3 folders; Jazz, Oldies, New. How do I do that? Will I still be able to play a combination of all the songs from the 3 folders in random order.

After all day of playing with the thing, I figured out how to do it. If anyone else is as Mp3 challanged as I am, don't hesitate to ask me how I did it.

  • Combining individual songs to show as 1 album in cover flow

I'm manually going through my iTunes library filling in missing album artwork. I haven't really used cover flow because of the fact that I had so few albums that autofilled with album artwork. But I'd like to now, I noticed that a lot of my albums aren't "linked" together as a album and show up individually as their own album. I'll use the Malt Shop Memories set as an example. It's a 10 disc set of oldies that I changed "info" for across the whole album (one disc at a time) I pasted in the album artwork, set disc number, total number of discs, set Album name, and set the genre. Now when I click on the tab to view the library in grouped it shows the album art and one song. Then below it, the album art again and one song etc etc. In coverflow it has a album art icon per song so I can't just click to the next song I have to (in this case) click past 15 songs to get to the next album/disc.
So my question is, how can I fix that lol. I mean isn't it only supposed to show the album art once per album? How do I tell iTunes that this group of songs should be one album? Thanks for any help!

I tried those things in that article. I have a 2 disc set that has various artist but them same album art on both discs.
I highlight all 15 tracks on disc 1 and click on "Get Info" so that I am making changes across all the songs. I set for all of them; Compilation - Yes, Album - Malt Shop... , Disc number - 0f 2, Track Number - of 15, Genre - Oldies, and I paste in artwork that I've copied to the clipboard.
I make sure that not only does it have the correct info in the fields but also that the green check mark is in the corresponding box. I even tried marking them all as (Part of a compilation - NO) then remarking them all at the same time as Compilation - Yes. Still no good, all the info is right and it still shows 1 song as a album.
    What am I missing?

  • Separating songs on the same album into different sections of the ipod

i dont know what is wrong. but sometimes when i add songs onto my ipod, it'll separate the songs. for example, if i have a 13 track cd and download in onto my ipod, it'll put tracks 1-7 separate from the rest. im so confused and i dont know whats wrong with it...

All songs need to have ALbum Artist filled in or not.
If only one/some have it, it messes it up.

  • Can I use Imovie 6 to combine edit songs and combine them?

  • Can two songs be combined into one?

Is it possible to combine two songs into one song, and if so, how? The two songs are "The Load Out" and "Wait Just A Little Bit Longer" (Jackson Browne). The two songs belong together, but I had to buy them separately. If a song list is sorted by artist, it works great, but if the list is sorted by any other means (Title, etc.), they become separated. (If you've ever listened to the 8.5 minute combined version on the radio, you'll understand.)

Have a look at Doug's iTunes scripts for this script which will join tracks: Track Splicer
Doug also has this shareware program you might find useful: Join Together

  • Why Does iTunes Make Combining Songs Into a Single Album So Difficult?

Can anyone explain, or refer me to a website, that explains and lists in a "1,2,3" manner the illogic of the iTunes "get info" panes and why iTunes splits, combines and erases data depending upon what you put in the "get info" area. I have looked at many websites with suggestions and some work and some don't. The frustration I have is that I cannot decipher the logic of what iTunes is doing. Some comments and examples:
    1. I thought it was convention when you highlight multiple anythings, and specify a change, this change is done on all highlighted things. For example, when I want to combine several songs into a single album, highlight them all and fill in information in the "get info area", sometimes it combines, sometimes it splits the songs, sometimes it erases the artwork. Even when I specify "part of a compilation".
    2. Sometimes when I add "various artists", it combines the various highlighted songs but then erases the artwork.
    3. One would think that when you specify any songs as "part of a compilation" that would automatically force these songs into a single album. Sometimes iTunes does, and sometime it does not.
    4. Even when I think I have entered exactly the same information there apparently is something different. It has taken me up to 15 minutes first of very careful checking of spelling, spacing, etc. then just totally randomly changing something before I can get songs together.
    5. Why isn't there just a very simple button that says something like: "no matter what, force the highlighted songs into a single album? Is there any way to simply and easily force songs together into a single album no matter what is in the individual "get info" areas?
Anyway, you get the idea. Surely there is some set of rules or logic that I am totally missing. Thanks.

Thanks, that was extremely helpful but unfortunately this very well laid out website confirms the fact that this is a very un-Apple-like interface that is confusing, contradictory and extremely difficult to use. Not sure if anyone from Apple reads these threads, but in the next version they need to do an extremely serious remake. I think this part of the interface must have been designed by refugees from the PC camp who somehow got hired by Apple!
    Thanks again.

  • Combining songs into one album

I previously imported music from my Music CD Soundtrack: Forrest Gump (has multiple disks) while I was on a Windows platform (not sure if that will matter considering my issue, but wanted to give that info.)
Now, I've imported all my music on to my recently purchased MacBook. I had the same issue on my Windows iTunes, but never resolved it.
I have, let's say 20 songs I selected from the soundtrack, but, they have placed them in different albums. Consequently, only a few have found the artwork to go with the album. I tried switching the album name to the same album name that had artwork. I tried dragging those songs to the album with artwork.
Still, I cannot combine all the songs under one album. If I wanted to play all the songs from my Forrest Gump soundtrack, I'd have to go to about 10 different albums, and, as I said before, I could not get artwork for a majority of the songs.
What do I need to do to combine these songs all under one album (FYI: for some reason the two artworks I did get downloaded, were actually two different covers, one correct and one that was still a Forrest Gump cover, but a different one than I had on my original CD).

If this is a compilation album where you have many artists on one album then you probably need to toggle the compilation checkbox at the bottom of the Get Info window for the tracks on the album. Highlight all the tracks, Get Info, then check the compilation box says yes.
