Combining two accounts

When I first got iTunes on my MacBook, I created an account using my old e-mail address with Insight Communications and created a password. Then my hard drive crashed and I got a new one. Also in the meantime, I changed internet providers twice. I created a new iTunes account using my current internet provider which is Insight Communications. So my problem is I have purchases on the original account that I want on my current one. I don't want to close the first account until I get those purchases but I don't know how. Can you help me out?

You cannot combine accounts.
You will always have to authorize your computers for the first account.
You really shoud not start two accounts. Simply change the e-mail address for your first account.

I am sorry it took so long for this thread to find me ... or, for me to find this thread!
Skype does not permit the transfer of features, subscriptions, calling plans, or credit from one account to another. Therefore, multiple accounts can not be "merged" into a single account. This is true regardless of whether the account is under a Skype Manager hierarchy or not.
The only way to manage this is to cancel the items that are not needed on the account you no longer wish to use, and start new subscriptions and/or purchase new credit for the account you will use. More details here: 'Can I delete my Skype account?'

Combining two accounts? And why does CC say "install" when I already subscribe to the app (LR) and it is already installed?

Hi guys,
Couple problems (which I've had for years).
1) I have two accounts for some reason under two separate email addresses. So for starters, I'd like to combine them, how?
2) I subscribe to the $9.99 photography deal. When I am signed in, CC sees that Photoshop is installed and up to date (or whatever), but next to Lightroom, it says "install". Besides just being wrong, I am concerned I am missing updates as CC doesn't even know I have the app installed.

The version of Lightroom available through the Creative Cloud Desktop application is licensed differently than the version installed with a perpetual serial number. I would recommend removing your current installation of Photoshop Lightroom and then reinstalling through the Creative Cloud Desktop application. You can find more details regarding the uninstall and install process at Creative Cloud Help | Install, update, or uninstall apps.

I created a second artificial account on my Macbook pro to protect my personal password on which my work loaded some additional programmes.
However, I don't seem to have these programmes now on my own account. How can I combine the two accounts so I won't lose programmes and iphoto contents? I am a new Mac user so very inexperienced in its usage.

How do I combine two of my accounts that I have different email addresses for?I can open both separately but can't sych my I pod with all my music.

This an outline of what i did.
(i did the screenshots using a much smaller version of the image than you posted)
1. First you want to put both images into the same documents as layers.
     You could open both photos and then drag one into the other from the Photo Bin.
2. With the layer that just has the scoreboard selected, use the Quick Selection Tool to select just the scoreboard.
      Then right click inside the selection and press Layer via Copy, which puts just the scoreboard on a layer.
         (named sign in the screenshot)
3. Move the sign layer below the picture with you in it by dragging in the layers panel.
       Then use the Quick Selection Tool to select the over exposed scoreboard, go to
       Select>Inverse and then press the Add Layer Mask button at the bottom of the layers panel.
       The layer mask hides the overexposed scoreboard.
4. Select the layer with just the scoreboard and using the Move Tool, position the scoreboard
      so you can see it through the hole the layer mask made.
      Go to Image>Transform>Distort and move the corner handles of the bounding box to fit the new scoreboard
      in position.
Optional stuff:
Use the Clone Stamp Tool to clone around the cutout scroreboard to get rid of some of the highlights
Apply an Inner Shadow layer style to the scoreboard (sign) layer
If your going to send the photo by email or other means to someone else and resize the photo smaller, add some sharpening by selecting the top layer, pressing Shift+Ctrl+Alt+E to merge everthing into a new layer, select you,
add a layer mask and use one of the sharpening filters under Enhance>Unsharp Mask or Adjust Sharpness

You can still use them, You have to log into the account to update apps and the computer has to be authorised for those items by logging into the account
Will I have to buy those purchases again with the New Apple ID?
If yo do not want to log into the old account to transfer/redowload the items you will have to purchase them again
And if so, why should I pay twice for one purchase?

Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

I have an account for itunes and an account for my iphone. The problem is I need to change my itunes account email address and it will not let me. I do not have access to that email account any longer. I do not want to lose my itunes and programs that I have already paid for under the email address I do not have access to any more. How can I attach it to my other account?

You cannot merge two Apple IDs. You cannot share purchases with other Apple IDs although there is a temporary form of sharing.

How do I combine two user accounts into one account?

When we originally set-up our iMac, I set-up two accounts for my wife and I. Since then it has been a royal pain with music and applications sharing. How do I merge the two accounts into one?

I found an answer to this by searching on "merging two accounts" rather than "combining two accounts." BTW, it's a little mini-nightmare if you only use "combine" on both Google and Apple support. At least this post might help others avoid the same fate.

I am trying to combine two accounts that I have on iTunes (created separately over the years) so as to then delete/cancel one to only have one active account (with all of my combined purchases, etc. on this combined account).

Items purchased from the iTunes Store are permanently associated with the account from which they were originally purchased. Apple provides no way to change this.
However, if you wish to put content from two accounts into a single iTunes library, you can easily do so. Use the command File > Add File (or Folder) to Library.

You can't combine accounts but help here Apple ID FAQ's for resetting your Apple ID password.

Were you able to reset the account's password ? If not then how did you try to get it reset e.g. http://iforgot.apple.com (which would have sent it to the rescue email address if you have one on that account) ? You can also try contacting iTunes Support in your country to get it reset : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
And no, accounts can't be merged nor content transferred between accounts.
