Combining two computer itune files onto one computer

Initially I set up itunes on my home pc. Then I also setup my laptop and started purchasing music on that computer. Now I am trying to combine them onto one so that I can have all my music on my iphone and ipod. As I guess everyone but me knows this is not easily done. Is there a way to make this happen. I bought the music I should not have to buy it twice. itunes allows you to have several computers on your account why don't they allow you to merge the files from those same computers. HELP

Where is your back up? Do you not combine it there?
"As I guess everyone but me knows this is not easily done."
It is easily done.
You can copy music to a dvd,cd, flash drive, external drive and move it from on computer to another.
You can use your ipod to move itunes purchases to an authorized computer.
Go to the top of this page click "Support", the type "move itunes purchases" or similar into the search support bar. You will get articles to help you do this.

  • Can you have two separate iTunes files on one computer?

I gave my daughters each an old iPOD. One is 20 GB and the other is 60 GB. I take an iBOOK laptop with me when I visit so I can update them. In the past, they shared the 20 GB iPOD only. Now I have a problem as one iPOD can store a lot more than the other. Is there any way to have two separate iTUNES files on one iBOOK computer, one with the songs for the 20 GB iPOD, and the other for the 60 GB iPOD?

The problem with making separate accounts is that this is a laptop, so likely not a huge hard drive, and if the three iTunes libraries need to have a lot of the same music (because everyone or two or three like some of the same stuff) you end up with double or triplicate copies of the music on the hard drive eating up drive space. Since they don't use his laptop normally, creating more accounts (with all the associated files and drive space usage each account would eat up) it probably isn't worth it.
Instead, the best approach is like Chris said, to make playlists for the girls in the main library and then set up the various iPod to either sync everything (if big enough) or sync only specific playlists (if not big enough).
Alternatively, they can set their iPods to manual syncing and then when Dad is visiting they can hook up their iPods and "shop" the library and drag in whatever they want to add to the iPods and delete what they no longer want.

  • Combining two or more dvds onto one ddv

Is it possible to copy 3 existing home made dvds onto one DVD-R disk. I can copy to a rewriteable disk DVD-RW but DVD player does not recognise the disk . Any ideas ??

If the DVD has the space to hold the three movies then you can fit them on there. Combining DVD movies is not like adding tracks on a CD. DVDs have pretty strict rules about what goes where = authoring. You will need to reauthor the DVD, creating a new VIDEO_TS folder accommodating your three movies together so it will play on your television DVD player. This is not just putting all the files in one folder, but creating correct information files to go with the video. Even if you have a tool that will re-author for you it may not create menus, which makes navigating using your TV pretty cumbersome. Sizzle is a freeware tool that lets you create new menus, but it hasn't been upgraded in a while and is not the most intuitive. If you're happy with just the most basic of menus and working out problems with software then you can use it.
So, simply copying the three sets of files onto a single DVD will not work in your video player, though you can play the files on your computer using a program like VLC.
The other problem you may be encountering is blank media quality. If you are using the cheap DVDs sold in bulk in discount stores you may find your player won't be able to read them. I have put the same movie on cheap DVDs and high-quality ones. The player could not read the chap DVDs but had no problem with the identical files on a good quality DVD. RW media (be it DVD or CD) can often present even more of a problem in players than non-rewritable media, unless you player specifically states it can handle RW.

  • How to combine two images in preview onto one page

Sorry if this topic doesn't go here - there wasn't a "preview" category.
I have two images that i want to print out on the same page and right now they are each on a separate page in the same file in preview. Does anyone know how I can combine them onto one page?
    Thanks

    Hi -
I load two images in Preview and select them.
Then I select Print Selected Images:

When the print dialog box opens, I select Images per Page:2

  • Combining two seperate pagemaker files into one pagemaker file.

We are having done two seperate pagemaking files in two different systems. We are in need to combine/join these two pagemaker publications into one pagemaker publication. How to do this?

    There's several options.
    1. If the two publications are on different PCs, then create a PDF of each and combine them in Acrobat.
2.Use the Book utility to combine the files when you print.  They need to be on the same PC.
    3. If the two publications are on the same PC (with all the necessary fonts and images), and the files are small, i.e. no more than a few pages, then open both publications in PM.  Tile the two publications side by side.  Add the required number of new pages to the first document, and have "New page 1" opposite "Page 1" of the second publication.
With the pointer tool selected in the second publication, click Edit - Select All.  Then quickly drag all the objects acroos to "New Page 1" in the first publication.
Do the same for the remaining pages - hence the requirement for not having too many pages.
Use File - Save As to save the first publication with a new filename.  All links to images will be preserved.

  • How to combine two pages (not files) into one long vertical page

Is there a way in Acrobat 9 Pro to combine (concatenate) say two 8.5"x11" pages and create a single 8.5"x22" page?
Right now I'm having to do this by importing one page into Photoshop, extending the canvas, and pasting in the second page into the extended canvas space.  Very kludgy. While this works, saving the resulting PDF (even after removing the option to preserve editability in Photoshop) still results in a file which is a whopping 2.5MB in size as compared with around 25KB for the original PDF file which was spanning 2 pages.
Ultimately what I'm trying to do is to be able to view a long document which was created in MS Word 2007 and then saved as a PDF, in a web browser by scrolling, without having page breaks.  Trying to increase the page dimensions is MS Word 2007 prior to creating the PDF worked to a point but Word 2007's maximum page length is 22 inches and as luck would have it, the document requires about 23 inches in length.
I've tried using the custom page setting under the crop tool in Acrobat 9 but I can't seem to get the modified page dimensions to be accepted.  Acrobat 9 seems to accept the input and then nothing changes with the page's dimensions.

A simple way to accomplish the job, though not recommended is to print the 2 page file to a new PDF with multi-up (assuming you select vertical rather than horizontal locations) and adjust the paper in the Adobe PDF printer to be 8.5X22. At least you might give it a shot. Some variation, along with rotation possibly, might work.

  • How can I combine two separate video projects onto one DVD with a common menu?

In PE 3 I have a finished video project and a separate slideshow that I want to include together on the same DVD with a common menu. I would like the slide show to be accessible from the main menu of the DVD, something like: "Play Movie" and "Play Slideshow". How do I do it?

I bought my duaghter an ipod. Can I have two seperate itunes libraries on one computer? If so, how do I set this up?

I followed these instructions & have created a new library file. However, all my music now appears in the new library as well as my own. (I bought my daughter an ipod nano for christmas & want to separate itunes libraries on one computer). How can this be so difficult?

  • Can I use two different itune accounts on one computer?

Can I use two different itune accounts on one computer?

    1. Give her a separate user account on your computer. If you have a backup copy of the library, you can restore it.
    2. If you encounter a 90-day waiting period, click here and ask the iTunes Store staff if they'll remove it.

  • How do I combine two or more pictures into one?

How do I combine two or more pictures into one?

I found out how to do what I wanted and I'm giving my steps in hopes that it might help someone else.  I wanted to put several photos from a file onto a new blank image.  This is what I did.
    1.  Create a blank page.    File/New/ Blank File.   Put in the size.  I used 8x10.
    2.  Bring the photo  you want to use into Elements as you always do. It will list along the top next to the blank sheet.
    3.  Choose SELECT (top of screen)/ Select All.
    4.  Choose Edit/Copy   or Command "C"
    5.  Click on the Blank File.   Chose Edit/Paste  or Command "V"
    6.  Click on Image/ Transform or Command "T".  There should be a dotted line around your pasted image.  You can then move and adjust the image to how you want it.  When finished, press the check-mark on lower right of photo.
    7.   Repeat this with all the photos you want on the new blank file.
    8.  You will see on lower right of Elements,  the background layer and as many layers as you have photos.  These layers need to be permanently placed on the background layer. Go to Layers and press Merge Visible.  This will merge all layers to the background.
    9.  Save as and you are done.

  • Dragging iTunes files onto disktop

I seem to have forgotten something. Unless my memory is worse than I thought it was, I used to drag songs from my iTunes library to my desktop in order to attach them to e-mail messages (I found this much faster than using the ATTACH button in my MAIL program .) Anyway, when I try to do it now, the song file doesn't stay on my desktop. What's at fault, my memory or my computer?

while not a direct answer to your question, if you want a very simple way to send a file, select the song in iTunes, look under the iTunes menu, choose Services, and then Mail, and Send File.
To think of all of the time I've wasted..... Well, better late than never. I worked! Thanks for the tip. It worked like a charm.

  • Combining two separate song files

I'm sure there's a way to combine (merge?) two separate song files into one, but I can't seem to figure it out. When I try to copy & paste multiple audio tracks, pieces get lost. Instrument parameters change, etc. Same with dragging from one Arrange window to another. What's the key? I have created the first part of a song in one file, and the second part in another, and I simply want to combine (really just connect) the two. How?

    yep, btdt.
    frustrating, eh?
if both files are part of the same song, make each the whole song length, with all tempos, key changes, etc, identical in both.
this will make it easier to drag and drop or cut and paste as logic has already made the room for the tranfer.
you could save as OMF then import, but i haven't dealt with this.

  • How can I print mulitple different .ai files onto one page in Illustrator CS6?

How can I print mulitple different .ai files onto one page in Illustrator CS6? I have all of the files organized by Arrange Documents>Tile All in Grid and I would like to print the files in this format so that they can all be seen at once when printed out onto one page.
Some background is that I have 16 different cad drawings that I have converted and edited in illustrator. I'd like to basically make a contact sheet with all 16 drawings so that they can be reviewed on one sheet of paper after printing. But each drawing is in it's own unique file, and I have not figured out how to put them all onto one page for printing.

You can place them (linked) into a new Illustrator file and print from there.
The original files will need pdf compatability.

  • How do I set up two separate iTunes accounts on one MacBook Pro in order to manage the wife's iPhone and my iPhone? Can this be done?

How do I set up two separate iTunes accounts on one MacBook Pro in order to manage the wife's iPhone and my iPhone (with separate info on each of course) ? Can this be done? A little step by step would be greatly appreciated; just short step by step though, I can follow fairly well.
    Kindest Regards,
    Phil T.

You would each need to use your own user account on the Mac, you can do this at system preferences > users & groups.
