Comcast cannot be TRUSTED!

Question

slamming is an illegal telecommunications practice, in which a subscriber's service is changed without their consent.
I recently discovered that Comcast had "slammed" my account starting back in 2008 by billing me $5.99 per month for "insurance" I had NEVER requested or agreed to.
I asked for a refund. They first offered me a credit of $5.99 for 3 months. I refused since they have overcharged me more than $500. I refused that offer and asked to speak with a manager who had the authority to repay my account. I was unavailable when they called, leaving only a contact name and # on my voicemail. I returned their call twice, also leaving my name and #. They have chosen to ignore my return calls or to negotiate an agreement.
Although I scrutinize my credit card, bank statements and other bills for which billed amounts that vary from period to period, I failed to check my Comcast billings. My only excuse is that because the billed amount did not change unless there was a rate increase, I did not see a reason for scrutinizing it. I TRUSTED them. However, they don't deserve to be trusted by their customers. The phone companies were found "guilty" of doing the same thing and fined. This practice is ILLEGAL. Wonder how many other Comcast customers have been victimized over the years?
PLEASE scrutinize your Comcast bills. Apparently this cable company cannot be trusted.
I plan to send a complaint to the Consumer Protection Agency, the Better Business Bureau, a letter to the Editor of our local newspaper as well as the local TV station that helps to resolve unresolved complaints.

I understand the frustration you're having with this. What we're trying to understand is why it's taken 7 years for this to be noticed. A Sup was able to speak with you and offered a years worth of credit for the charge to which you declined. He has also gone over the Terms of Service with you. It is each customers responsibility to manage their own account.
