Comcast email on iPhone 5s

I set up Comcast email using the IMAP format and everything works ok. The only thing wrong is when you get an email it doesn't show as a notification on your mail icon on your phone. It only shows there after you happen to check to see if you received an email. How do I fix this?

Getting an error when I try to set up a Comcast email on Iphone

I'm trying to set up my comcast email on my iphone. I had called Comcast and got the appropriate incoming and outgoing mail server information to enter and chose to set it up as a POP bc that is what they told me it has to be and when I hit save and it verifies I keep getting this error: the POP server "mail.hmc1.comcast.net" is not responding. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the "Incoming mail server" field.
Does anyone have a solution to this?

Problems with comcast email on iphone

Had problems sending emails from my iphone and ipad through Comcast. Apple could not solve the problem, contacted Comcast and they stated that they had issues with the Apple iphone and ipad and told me to download the "Xfinity connect ap" did so and everything works better than before. When I used the Apple email had to trash what I did not want on Apple and then when I went to Comcast the email were still there. Using the xfinity ap, when I delete on the iphone or the ipad the emails are deleted at all places. Before I had to delete on my iphone and then my ipad and then when i went to my computer they were still there and I had to delete there also, which was a real pain. Still can send and rec email from my icloud account, but comcast email are handled through xfinity connect

my point is what i stated. maybe i posted in the wrong forum. SORRY. I was only trying to help. No it is probably not Apples problem but the Apple people did not know what to do or did not have a solution to the problem. I spent hours trying to straighten it out on line and with apple personel with no results, Apple employees did not have a solution to the problem. Like I said Sorry, but it cost me hours trying to straighten it out. I had used it for 2 yrs and then it stopped working, I figured Apple had a solution but they did not, and wasted a lot of my time.

Setting up Comcast email on iPhone

I just got the iPhone two days ago and am trying to set up my Comcast email, but having some difficulty. I've gone online and tried all the recommended steps, like incoming mail server "mail.comcast.net" and SMTP as "smtp.comcast.net," the server port at 995 and Use SSL on, and SMTP server at 589 eiyh SSL on.
But still I am not receiving emails and not only that, but it doesn't show my other emails (I have it set to receive 50 most recent emails).
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Are you accessing the Comcast account from any other system? Comcast email accounts are POP, so if you access email from any other device before you try to connect from the iPhone, then only if you set the other device to leave the messages on the Comcast server would you see them from the iPhone. Otherwise the messages are erased from the server and not accessible from any system other than the one to which they were downloaded (that's how POP works).

Apple has made it easy, once I told it in new email add process it was a comcast email address, it had all the right settings, I didn't have to enter anything and it works perfectly. Nice.

I have iCloud. Occasionally I will recieve an email on my iPhone but will not receive the same email on my MacBook. This does not happen all of the time but it does happen periodically. Any ideas?

Yes some ideas. Comcast is using pop mail accounts. you need to do some changes to your phone and computer settings in order to accommodate that. (those accounts a bit outdated and need to be managed in order to use with multiple devices)

Comcast Email issues on iphone 4

Hello,
I have set up my iphone to have my comcast.net email on it. I have always been able to receive my emails but I can not set or reply to them. I have checked all my settings they appear to be set up correct. Does anyone know of a tip or something I am missing?
Any help to resolve this extremely frustrating issue would be wonderufl.

How do I sync comcast email with the mail program on my iPhone and iMac

I have two email accounts set up on my iPhone. One is my gmail account which I use for work. The other is the comcast email, my default home email address. The comcast account doesn't sync iPhone, web mail, or the mail program on my iMac at home. My gmail account does. For instance, I send an email from my phone it shows up in the sent box when I go to the mail web page on my work and home computer. With comcast, if I send an email from my phone it stays on my phone. I have to bcc or cc to myself if I want the sent message to show up on the home computer or on the mail web page.

Unfortunately that is really the only work around since
Comcast uses POP3 and not IMAP like Gmail or
iCloud.
I had received an email quite some time ago that they
were beta testing IMAP with select customers but I doubt
if it has gone much further than that.

Is anyone else having trouble with linking between Xfinity Comcast email and the new iOS7 on iPhone 4s ?

I downloaded the new iOS7 update for my iPad and iPhone 4s today. Everything works fine on both devices EXCEPT I get my Comcast emails but when I attempt to reply and send I get a message telling me it is not the correct STMP address/password.
I called Apple Support, they tried a number of things with me then suggested I call Comcast. Comcast charged me $49.95 to get tech support only to be told in 3 minutes or less: " sorry, it seems Comcast Xfinity and iOS7 upgrade are not communicating on iPhones.
They then told me to download the Xfinity mobile app and utilize my emails from there.
Totally inconvenient !
Is it an Apple fix or Comcast ?

HT5624 My first account was on my IPhone under my comcast email address. I have recently changed to ATT and cant update or download anything on my phone. How do I change id info on my phone?

My first time getting an Apple account, I used my comcast email address to set it up on my IPhone. I recently moved to ATT and have a new email address. I do not see how to change to my new email address on my IPhone. Please help me.

Go to appleid.apple.com, click the blue button that says 'Manage Your Apple ID'
Log in with your Apple ID & password.
Go to Name, ID and Email Addresses
Change your primary email address.
Reply to the verification email sent to the new email address.

Tap your AppleID, sign out then sign back in with new AppleID.
Settings > Messages.
Turn off iMessages the turn it back on with new AppleID.
Settings > iCloud.

Check the outgoing mail server settings in your account on the Treo and see if it is set for your yahoo account.
Make sure it is not set for the Hotmail account.

If you still have problems, create a new account on the Treo for your yahoo account and delete the current account.

IPhone will not send comcast email

My iPhone suddenly stopped sending Comcast emails--still receives. The iPhone will send and recieve gmail and my work email from the iPhone. My iPad sends and recieves all three accounts including Comcast. I compared the email settings and the iPhone and iPad are identical.

Make sure the SMTP primary server is set to smtp.comcast.net, and that your SMTP server settings are the same as your iPad too (mine are SSL = Off and Server Port = 587). If they are, try deleting the account and recreating it again.
