Come on, Adobe. Fix Flash for Safari

This is a joke. There has been no response on this issue. I
had no idea about
the trouble and am not looking forward to spending a morning
trying to get an
older version to work. The player worked fine, I saw an
update, updated and
now it's broken. I've tried for about 90 minutes to uninstall
and use an older
version to no avail. This wasn't an issue under Macromedia.

No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.

Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.

iSwifter
Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."

We are not Adobe here. Rather user to user.
In the threads that I have read here the following is the user to user reply on this matter that is seen regarding project assets....Music Scores in this case....
The Music Score soundtracks are from the Adobe Premiere Elements (12 or 13) Music Score selections within the program.
And, they can be used in the users choice of export. As for "authorship", I guess you would point to Adobe, Premiere Elements version, Music Score.
Would the evaluators settle for the above information?

Macbook 2007 is totally after slow after upgrading Adobe Flash for Safari

Last month I replaced the (failed) hard drive of my 2007 Macbook with a new 500 GB HD. Everything was great until I attempted to upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Flash player for safari. After uninstalling the old flash player I found it impossible to add the new one--or any other version. I decided to give up for a while until I could go into Apple for advice. I used chrome to watch Youtube, but the videos were totally choppy--freezing and suddenly speeding up--But the real worry is that the entire system is slow slow slow with endless beach balls. I've used utility first aid, Clean mymac, iboost, and tiddyup--each time things seemed better (or not as bad) but I still got beachballs and videos still impossible to watch. I also tried a suggested fix that involved pressing control>command>P.R while powering up. Today I managed to finally upgrade the flash player after upgrading to the newest version of Safari. But videos just as bad and still super slow with beach balls. I would greatly appreciate any new suggestions. Maybe the new HD is defect? I also upgraded to Snow Leopard last year. Thanks!

Flash for Safari .. and Internet Explorer?

I use Safari 3.1.2 but I have IE on my computer and need to run a Flash-based website on it for comparison purposes. It seems that there is no Flash for the Intel-based processors; does anyone know if this is correct?

Flash...swf...fla...will play on either platform. Doesn't matter what platform creates the flash.
Just like Quicktime videos will play on either a widows or mac computer. As long as the computer has quicktime on it. Same with WMV.

When is Mavericks fix coming for Safari?

Hi, does anyone know when Apple will send fix for Mavericks Safari issue??

Best Adobe reader plugin for Safari or firefox .

Hi Folks.
I am looking for the best plugin available for safari that will give me the functionality of adobe reader when viewing pdf documents using safari.
Am i doing something wrong but i download pdf's to the desktop, i ctrl+click on them and select 'Open With' i navigate to adobe reader and select 'always open with..'
Shouldn't that make Adobe Reader the default app for pdf's and not preview?
Is this functionality carried over to safari, as in what i want to do is when browsing the web with safari, click on a pdf and have it open in reader.
Any help is appreciated.

If you have Adobe Reader installed, then open its preferences and select the option to install the Adobe Reader for Safari (under Internet preferences.)
To have Adobe Reader become the default reader for PDFs simply select any PDF file and press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. Set the default application to Adobe Reader then click on the Change All button.

After installing above Shockwave Player plug-in many games start working. However some of them like Crazy Karts or Creepy Pong hangs Safari browser. I will report this bug to Apple's bug tracking system.

Lost Adobe plug-in for Safari 4

I downloaded the free version of Adobe because I thought I needed it for certain files. However, I soon realised that Preview is much more versatile as a reader and I uninstalled Adobe. However, in the process I appear to have removed the link that enables Safari to read PDF documents. Can you tell me how to reinstate the missing link or to require Safari to use Preview to read documents while on the web? I can download documents fine and read them on Preview, but not read them while on the web. Thanks in advance. Andrew

On OS X some apps come with an installer, some are just drag & drop. Sometimes an uninstaller can be found within the installer, sometimes there's an extra uninstaller.
I haven't installed Adobe Reader (AFAIK there's no uninstaller), but you could look @:
Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe
Users/username/Library/Application Support/Adobe
Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences/
Users/username/Library/Preferences/
Users/username/Library/Caches/Adobe
Users/username/Library//Logs/Adobe
for Adobe Reader stuff to trash. (be careful, if you have other Adobe stuff installed)

New Adobe Flashplayer plugin for Safari causing problems

The newest version of the Adobe Flashplayer plugin eats up 15% or more CPU constantly and requires that I ForceQuit Safari several times a day. These problems went away when I removed the Flashplayer files from Library/Plugins. Now Safari is running like before.
Anyone else notice this? Thanks.

Adobe drops Flash for Linux, except Chrome

How long until someone cuts Flash out of Chrome and provides the PPAPI for the other browsers? Or better yet, how long until this awful Flash will be a thing of the past and will be replaced by open concepts like HTML5.

No. Companies don't need to change OS for this. They can always use Google Chrome (for Linux). However why should they discontinue providing a standalone plugin. They can provide a standalone plugin which any PPAPI implementing web browser can use (in the future if firefox or webkit based ones support the API). Why restrict it to chrome?
You're right, but i was thinking if half+ of the web is based on flash, there will be tons of linux users (like me) that couldn't see that half+ of the web content or doesn't want to chage their web browser. If linux is a poorly supported flash platform, why invest money on make linux friendly web apps and games?
Besides Mozilla said that they're not interested in support PPAPI right now...

I keep getting a warning that i need to download adobe reader for my safari browser.So what's the best way to do this?

Visit http://www.adobe.com and select "Adobe Reader" from the "Download" drop-down menu at the top of the page. It should offer you the specific version you need for the computer and browser you are running.

Install Flash for Safari Error

I have a Retina Display Macbook Pro running 10.8.3 with Safari at 6.0.3. I can not install Adobe Flash 11.7.700.169 on it. I get an error "Actionlist Not Found". All browsers are closed at the time and the Plug-ins ARE enabled. No previous version of Flash is installed. Any thoughts?

I figured it out. When youtube videos wouldn't work, the link sent me to Adobe's Install Flash page and this was the OSX available dmg

Adobe releases Flash for Mac beta with GPU acceleration

Sounds like this might be worth a try on the new MacBooks.
Let us know if it helps and off loads the work from the CPU to the GPU with Flash.

the german computer magazine c't did some preliminary tests with that plugin on a Mac Mini 3.1 (Core 2 Duo 2 GHz, 3 GByte RAM, Mac OS X 10.6.3) and the 1080p Trailer The Last Air Bender http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USUHXzapRoU
Flash Player 10.1 RC 2 -> Activity Monitor showed 90-120 % CPU useage
Gala PlugIn -> 50-60% CPU useage
So quite a step in the right direction.
Although funny thing is, that with the HTML5 player from YouTube http://www.youtube.com/html5 used with Safari the CPU useage got down to 15% !!
All that as said, preliminary...

Updating Flash for Safari Browser

I am new to the iPod world and just bought an iPod touch. Love the thing just had one question, I am an avid Fantasy Football Geek and use yahoo, when I go into yahoo and try to use their stat-tracker that updates scores and stuff in real time, it says I have to update my flash player. Is there a way to do this through Itunes or through the safari browser?
Other than this small inconvenience I love my touch.

There is no Flash support for mobil Safari right now.
