Comes With Music no Play Rights

I've just bought a 5310 pay as you go Comes with Music package, everything installed without a problem and I can download whole albums - however I can't play anything on my registered pc and I can't transfer to the 5310.
The properties on the the downloaded music files show no play rights and I get an Unexpected error CD002781 whenever I try to play anything. The Music application says the PC is registered. Has anyone else had this problem?

Could you try to reset the DRM folder on your PC?
Before you proceed with the following, please note that you will lose the licenses for all Windows Media DRM content when resetting your DRM folder for any
The Comes With Music content will be able to get another licenses from the Nokia store, so that will not be a problem.
To reset the DRM folder do the following (intructions for vista and XP from www.music.nokia.com/support):
If your computer has Microsoft Windows Vista:
To reset the DRM files on your PC, first close Nokia Music if it is running, and do the following:
1. Select Start > Computer > Organize > Folders and search options.
2. Select View > Show hidden files and folders.
3. Unselect Hide protected operating system files/folders and Hide extensions for known file types.
4. Locate your DRM folder. The folder is located at C:/ProgramData/Microsoft/Windows/DRM. If you cannot find the DRM folder, go through the steps above carefully, and ensure that the correct options are set.
5. Rename the DRM folder "DRMBACKUP".
If you now attempt to play the DRM protected tracks from Nokia Music Store, your system will perform a security upgrade, which resets all the necessary DRM files. Each track requests a new license when you first play it.
After going through these five steps you should be able to play your tracks.
If you computer has Microsoft Windows XP:
To reset the DRM files on your PC, first close Nokia Music if it is running, and do the following:
1. Select Start > Run, type "control folders", and press Enter.
2. Select View > Show hidden files and folders.
3. Unselect Hide protected operating system files/folders and Hide extensions for known file types.
4. Locate your DRM folder. The folder is located at C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/DRM.

  • Comes With Music and (Finnish) Music Store

I have a Nokia N97 mini Comes With Music. There was an upgrade in Finnish Music Store in yesterday (09.09.2010). After that, I can not choose free downloads anymore. Somehow the "Comes With Music" button has disappeared, and every mp3 has a price. I tried to re-join to Ovi Music Unlimited but the client replies that I already have the Comes With Music rights. Any suggestions?

I have had this exact same problem since mid-August some time. Been in contact with the Swedish Nokia Care people and they basically escalated it to some technicians in India. Still waiting for some form of response from them.
Also, can you transfer songs from OVI Music (the software I mean) to your phone? Because I can't do that either (I'm guessing because it requires that I access my account and get the DRM license - but like you pointed out, every mp3 has a price and there are no re-downloads available in my account anymore).
This is extremely frustrating. Sometime in June or July was the last time I could transfer songs from my computer to the phone (well, stuff I've ripped from my own CDs work fine of course, as well as songs that I've had on my phone prior to the CMW-MU switch).

  • Comes With Music membership extension

I have been a satisfied (most of the time) subscriber to Comes With Music membership (UK) since 26 Ocbober 1969. On 26 September 2010 I got an e-mail from "The Comes With Music team" ([email protected]) which I have pasted below.
    -------------quote
    Hi tonyarro,
Your Comes With Music membership is about to end on 26/10/2010. To continue getting millions of free tracks from Nokia Music Store, you just need to renew your membership by buying a new Comes With Music edition mobile. There's no need to wait - when you renew, your new membership period is added onto the time you've got left on your current membership. Click here to renew now.
What's more, there are exclusive offers on new Comes With Music edition mobiles, just for members. Take a look at all the latest deals here.
Remember, even if you don't renew, you keep all the music you've downloaded so far and can continue playing it on your registered Comes With Music mobile and PC. But after 26/10/2010 you'll have to pay for any new music you download. So don't miss out on all the new releases or classics from the massive Nokia Music Store catalogue - renew today!
    All the best,
    The Comes With Music team
    -------------unquote
So I "needed" to buy a new mobile. The "exclusive offers" were two choices, a 5800 at UK Pounds 249 or a N97 mini at UK Pounds 409. I already use a 5800 and the N97 costs more than I care to pay for a 'phone.
By accident, I discovered that T-mobile UK are currently selling a PAYG 5230 Navi CWM at UK Pounds 99.99. Quite a bargain, so I bought one.
Now I am going round in circles on the Nokia/Ovi websites and in Nokia Ovi Player on my PC trying to enter the activation pin. All the instructions no longer work with the current Player. The only working option is to create a new account and allow my present account to expire. I am reluctant to do this because it seems likely that I will also have to buy a new PC if I want to keep and play the music files that I have already downloaded (only 61.2GB).
In the process of going round in circles I discovered a hidden option in the Nokia Ovi Player menu - Account/Music Account/Extend. I could have bought a 12 month extension to my existing membership for only £34.99! I didn't "need" to buy a new mobile at all! No wonder the "Comes with Music team" don't have a return e-mail address if they just exist to drive sales by telling lies!
Anyway, I already have the new mobile and the CWM activation PIN. I realise that many forum members have more desparate problems than mine, but can someone on the staff please advise me how to extend my existing membership account using the PIN and new 'phone that I have already paid for?
    Tony.

Sorry, I got it slightly wrong, it's £33.99, not £34.99. The whereabouts are in my previous posting. To repeat, within Nokia Ovi Player, on the top line click on account, then music account, then on the Extend green button and the message below appears. This might only appear when your subscription is due to expire within one month or has expired less than one month ago. This is obviously from the UK music store, (GB pounds) I don't know whether it is available in other Nokia territories. I haven't tried it - I found it too late. I now have a 'phone that I didn't really want and no access to transfer my existing music collection back and forward to my old 'phone or my new 'phone. This is by following the advice of the 'Nokia music team'. New 'phone = new account = new computer.
    Extend your subscription
You can buy an extension here
    £3.50 1 months for £3.50
    £9.99 3 months for £9.99
    £17.99 6 months for £17.99
    £33.99 12 months for £33.99

  • Comes With Music question

If I get a comes with music handset and save the tracks to my memory card, if I put that card in a different handset, will I be able to play the music?
    Thanks

Your "Comes with Music" account and the tracks will be tied to the phone's IMEI number, tracks won't play on other mobile devices. I don't know if you get permission to use the tracks on any other devices (such as a PC) or not, though I would imagine not as they are provided free to the phone.
You won't even be able to transfer your music to another phone unless you buy another "Comes with Music" phone or if your phone is replaced under warranty.

  • 5800 Comes With Music - library not refreshing!!

Hi everyone, I recently got a 5800 Comes With Music phone and registered the phone within the Music Store.  I don't have a PC I can use so I wanted to use the phone to download music.  I managed to download a couple of tracks and they were stored in my music library when I chose the 'Refresh Library' option.  However, the next batch of songs I downloaded show as complete in the 'My Downloads' section but when I go into my music library and try to refresh it, it just says '0 Files Added'.  Why is this?  I'm not doing anything different to what I did the first time, yet whatever I try, I can't add the latest downloads to the library.  It's driving me mad!!  Has anyone had the same problem?  Am I missing a step - I'm literally selecting download, waiting for it to complete then going to the library and choosing refresh.
    Thanks!

Hey man, yh i'm afraid i'm having the same sort of problem as you.
I've bought and downloaded new songs off of the internet and have tried to put them onto my phone with little success.
Originally I got all but 1 song off the album into my library, through bluetooth, but when i came to play them later in the day (even though they were working earlier) they couldn't find the files and therefore were useless.
I tried, when I got home, to put them on later through the applications you download through your PC (like Nokia Suite and Nokia Music) and seemed to get them on fine but when I looked for them in my library they weren't there.
It seems like they are happy for you to put it on to your phone so that you can find the file in File Manager but won't let you put it in your library.
Sorry I couldn't give you any help but I thought it would be a good idea to put my problem up on here as well.
    Good Luck mate

  • Nokia 5310 Comes With Music problem

I've had my Nokia 5310 and Comes with Music since December and have yet to figure out how to transfer the music I've gotten from Comes with Music.
I've spent aeons on the phone to Nokia customer services and we have figured out so much as it's not the memory card, the phone, the registration with comes with music, or my computer.
I've managed to go through Windows Media Player and transfer OLD music to my phone which plays as normal. When I transfer a comes with music song, it says there is an error. Then I check my phone and the song is on there... But when I press it to play it says, "recieving activation key" and "subscribe to packet data first". I took a stab at what this means and got personal configuration settings for MMS and Sych and Streaming but they dont seem to work, because I still can't send picture messages. Go figure.
Can anyone help? I payed for this and it's not working, no one seems to know whats wrong.
    Ana

If you can't sent pictures thru mms, then its not properly configured for your phone. I would advice you to give your provider a call & have the configuration for packet services sent to you, or give you instruction on how to do it with your phone. Ask also what services are being offered to you.
Knowledge not shared is knowledge wasted!
If you find it helpfull, it's not hard to click the STAR..

  • Comes With Music - Having a Problem

Hi, I recently bought a Comes With music phone and managed to set it up fine and add music to the phone.
Yesterday i placed my memory card into another persons phone which was the same model (nokia 5310) and when i placed it back into my phone i could not get the music to play again (something about a reactivation key).
I then took all the music off my phone and tried again to put music on it and then was a transferring error each time i tried.
I then put it the person with the same model of phone as me and tried and it was sending music to that.
Now this morning i have tried with both phones and neither of then will work.
Any help for this problem would be appreciated .

Hi try to format the memory card in your 5310 (In 5310, Menu > Gallery > memory card. Select Options > Format memory card)
Then try to sync your music again from your PC with Nokia Music (make sure date and time on your PC and phone is correct first)
You cannot use the memory card in any other phone that your Comes With Music phone as the music is tied to your phone and PC

  • Comes with music 5800

when i bought my phone on contract it was advertised as comes with music on uk tv. now 4 months later im told that unless im with a certain contractor ,ie orange and on payg, i cant have comes with music..this is false advertising and nokia should be held accountable...and its also asking for a pin number..why would this be when only certain phones are meant to work with comes with music..can anyone help as ive been on the phone for 30 mins t tech team, who seem reluctant to deal with calls.and help desk just fob you off.

I bought my nokia 5800 March 30th 2009.  I really loved it not until now. 2 weeks ago, videos were not playing... I'm not sure how that it happened.  It was just pitch black with no sound. But it i can still download songs and play them.
Last Saturday, July 4th, I went to Nokia Center at Wheelock Place to get it fixed.  I was told that he needs to format my phone as the phone got corrupted.  I backed up my phone so he can do what he things needs to be done.  I asked if it's safe to format my phone as I have this fear that the music I downloaded won't play anymore...  He told me that I can call Nokia Care anytime for help.  So he formated my phone and it fixed it.  Videos are now playing...  On my way home,  the music I downloaded were no longer playing.  It really upset me.  I tied to download from Nokia store and was still able to, but all the downloaded music won't play.  I waited for Monday to call the nokia care for assistance.  This morning I called the nokia care and in verbatim, the customer care personnel said ,
"We apologize for that experience.  Now since you agreed to format your phone, all the data have been erased and so now, you have to purchase a new license in order for the downloaded music to play."
What???  Nokia was bragging a 1year agreement and even advertized that the downloaded music can be kept after the 1 year!!!  (Literally YES KEEP IT, but don't play it!)  Now what made me even more mad is when the rep told me that it's "MY FAULT" since my phone was reset!!!  Duh?! I didn't even initiate the reset, come to think of it.
In the first place,  it was not my fault that the video player of my phone got corrupted.  2nd,  the nokia repair center suggested that formatting the phone will fix the trouble (video not playing). 3rd,  I bought the phone because of how the ad was delivered to the public.  I honestly thought it was a good buy but now i'm starting to think all is a sham.

  • Comes With Music / Nokia 5800 problems downloading...

I've just got a new 5800 with Comes With Music and I'm having lots of problems! Hopefully you can help?!
Problem 1 - the main problem! Downloads don't add to phone's music library
The main problem is with downloading songs directly using my phone. Songs I download (using the mobile, not the PC) don't get added to my music library, and refreshing the music library dowsn't help. If I go to the music store, select 'options' and 'downloads' I can see a list of all the songs I've downloaded. If I select 'open' I can play the songs (one at a time), but they don't get added to the music library. If I press 'delete', I'm told 'File not found'. When I connect to my PC, I can't see these songs using the Nokia Music software, so can't transfer them to the PC. All very strange. Any ideas for how I can get these songs to add to the library?
Problem 2 - Nokia Music software
This is just irritating rather than anything else. When I plug my phone to my PC and use Nokia Music, the little phone icon has the caption 'Nokia N95'. But the phone I've connected is a 5800! My old phone was an N95...
At first this meant I couldn't sign up to CWM using my pin, because I was told it isn't compatible with this phone. So I had to sign up using the phone rather than the PC, and then use the log-in details on the PC to access music. This has worked and means I can download songs to my PC and transfer them to my phone, but it was a pain to get there.
Problem 3: Nokia Music website doesn't work
To add insult to injury, when I look for some help on the nokiamusic.co.uk website I'm told I need a new flash player. So I download the new flash playe, and I'm still told I need a new flash player. Brilliant. Incidentally, at the bottom of the page it says"Click here if you're quite sure to have Flash Player installed" which is gramatically a lot of nonsense.
I've always got on well with Nokia, but frankly I've had a nightmare week trying to get this new phone up and running and I'm very disappointed with them. The help-line isn't much use either. Anyway, any help on the above would be really greatfully received.
    Ryan

    Hi!
For your first problem, are you accessing Nokia Music Store on your mobile through the webbrowser or via the application in Music Menu? If you are using the web browser, try using the application.
If you are using the application already, have you tried with different access points? (i.e. WLAN, different operator interet access points) Also make sure that you have a memorycard in your phone which is compatible with the device, might be worth trying to re-format it and then try again?
For your third problem, have you tried to access nokia music store through Nokia Music program on your PC? (Click on Store tab). And which browser are you currenlty using to access it?
    Cheers,

  • Downloading whole album in Comes With Music (N97 M...

How can I download the whole album and it's tracks in Comes With Music (by using the phone, not PC)? There is a Download icon (that arrow down-icon) next to the album, but when I press that, it opens another view where all the tracks of that album are listed, with separate download icons next to each track. Am I really supposed to start downloading every track separately, by clicking every single download icon (more than 10 per album)?
Surely there must be a way to download the whole album with one click? Otherwise this really brings down the usability of Comes With Music.
I am using N97 Mini, and using Comes With Music service directly from the phone.

I've been having the same problems too. Was browsing ard looking for solutions but I just got mine to work a moment ago by playing around with it. Here's what I did.
    1) First, I tried to download a new song. I once again got no response or any prompt. As has been happening since this problem started, there was no download progress pop-up window, and no indication that any download has been completed or song added to the music player.
    2) I hit the download list button. Here I can see the song that I was trying to download. It's shown at 0% and only few KBs downloaded. I can also see some of the other songs that had tried to download previously but it did not appear in the music player. Those songs are shown as 100% complete.
    3) Next, I selected the song that I was trying to download, hit the 'options' button and select 'resume download'. (the other option is 'cancel download'). Now it's downloading as usual.
    4) Then I selected each of the 100% downloaded songs in the list, and deleted them one by one. Note that the error message 'file not found' still comes up, but just ignore it. Cos it actually did delete the files. (Sometimes you gotta delete it twice. I had one song which after deleting it, it was still there and I had to delete it the second time before it disappeared from the list)
    5) Before I know it, the song that I was downloading is already to the music player list (though there was no message prompt to inform that it has been added).
Now all my subsequent downloads are all like normal before the problem.
I dunno why but somehow doing that works for my device. Hope it works for yours too.

  • Do Zen Stones come with music already on them?

I bought a couple of Zen Stones off ebay for my kids. They were listed as new sealed in the box. But when we got hem one' s pakcking had the back torn off of it. Both of them aleady play music. So I'm trying to determine if these are really new, so do they come with music on them already? Also, the part of the package that is missing also has the serial number on it. Iunderstand I will needt his serial number to download some things. What will I need the serial number to download? Do you recommend demanding a new player so I will have the serial number?
    Thanks.

I don't have a Zen Stone, but my other Creative .mp3 players came with a few sample tracks on them.
The Zen Stone's serial number should be on its back.

  • N8 Comes With Music Downloads

I first had a 5800 Comes With Music. This was good, I downloaded the songs I wanted, no problem. I then progressed onto an N8. Transferring the music-while I still had my Comes With Music contract-was fine, however, I had to verify that every song was indeed mine, proving this with every single song. I then had my phone put in for repair, during which time the circuit board was replaced, effectively branding it a new phone. When I try to transfer my music now-the contract is over-it says that I can't as this is no longer my Comes With Music device. I have now lost over 1000 songs! Is there any way to right this?

  • My Comes with music just vanished ?!!??!?!

Hi!I see that many people have this problem.I bought a new phone two months ago and it had Comes with music.I activatected it, but now my on my account doesn't have CWM anymore ?!?!?! I downloaded music to my phone and now it doesn't let me listen it coz it says somthing about some rights.Ths really sucks.I'm using my new username what ends to OVI.Come on nokia !!!!

Are you certain that you have been sold the comes with music (CWM) version (in the CWM branded box) and not the standard version? Some people wrongly assume that all 5800's are the CWM version. Most retailers and networks sell the standard version that does not include unlimited music.
If you cannot find reference to CWM on the box then you have bought the standard 5800, not the CWM pack.
If the retailer was advertising it as CWM and it wasn't then it's their fault and you will have to take the issue up with them. If it is the CWM version and the voucher is missing then it is also the retailers responsibility.

  • Access to Comes With Music downloads

Hi, I previously had a 12 month Comes With Music account with unlimited downloads. I have now got a new PC and have now got an internet connection on it and I was wondering how I can update my registered PC settings and access my music that I previously downloaded.
I have had a look on the Nokia MixRadio page but it is trying to charge my for downloading my music. Is there a solution to this as there is obviously a lot of music on there that I have legally downloaded.
I am unable to register this as a complaint via the Nokia Support online form as this requires an IMEI number. However the phone broke a few years ago which is why I need to use this method.
    Many thanks

  • Nokia N96 - "Comes With Music" - Does iiiiit?

I have a question for my N96 about the "Comes With Music" feature. I have downloaded several songs from this site through my phone and i can play them fine, the only problem is the sole reason for downloading them was to use them for message alerts and mainly ringtones but they won't allow this. After i've paid for these tracks i think it's highly unfair that I cannot use them for my own personal use as a riongtone or such like. I can understand not being able to send them to others or burn them due to the copyrights and licences but not even using them as a ringtone! It's a joke in my opinion. Can anyone help me with this? Is there a way around it or can you recommend a decent ringtone website that doesn't rip you off too much?

It's the same with DRM protected music from most sites. The licence allows you to use it for music only, not for public broadcast (i.e. a ringtone).
Any music bought from the nokia music store can be burnt to a CD. Once on a CD it can be ripped back to a PC removing the DRM. This allows you to do anything with your music.
The "comes with music" service is something completely different. This is where you get totally free music from the nokia music store for a year but it can't be burnt to a CD.
To get that service you have to buy a "come with music" model. At the moment only the 5310 and N95 8GB are available with this service and only in select countries.
