Command-1 is a dud in 7

I upgraded and now I can't use 'command-1' to view iTunes window. It is listed in the help menu's keyboard shortcuts but it doesn't look like it works. 'command-W' and 'command-M' work fine to make the window go away. Anyone found a fix?

Anyone found a fix?
Command-2 for the Equalizer window doesn't work either.
It seems to be a bug. It's at least sloppy to mention shortcuts which do not function.
The shortcuts seem to be reserved for resizing (movie?) in the View menu.
They don't work either.
So I added ⌘-1 and ⌘-2 in System Preferences>Keyboard & Mouse>Keyboard Shortcuts.
Both shortcuts work fine in iTunes 7
Hope this helps.

  • Command-tilde not working

    When trying to cycle through multiple open windows in Safari using Command-tilde, I get a strange behavior. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I tried to figure out a pattern to this, but it seems completely random.
    Any ideas?
    On all other apps Command-tilde works flawlessly.

    Dude, I have the same problem and I'm running Leopard 10.5.8.  I have had many other "strange" problems and have reinstalled 10.4 and 10.5 so many times I cannot remember.  I also have a 15" MBP, but mine is from 2006 (yeah, Vintage).  So, you're not nuts.  I just had to reinstall 10.5 again, issues with lost iPhoto library, 2 of the same apps running at the same time, application preferences changing for no apparent reason, major access printing issues, 3/4 copies of pictures all to the sudden, airport - that was the final straw - spent 24 hours trying to get back on line after I turned Airport off 1 time.  Oh ~ there is so much more.  But, I digress..
    I had the command+tilde thing  problem before in 10.5.8 and somehow fixed it.  It's been a while, but I'm trying to remember and will post if I can find it.  I gotta fix mine too.  It is maddening not having that feature.
    Oh great, the other thing, my screen background going from pure white to cream - display darkening.  And emails/documents being edited right after or whilst I'm writing.  Tres bizarre.  It's as if I there were scripts being written/run/ran as I spoke.  Perhaps some Remote thing.  But, that's impossible with Apple...    Right?????
    Cheers

  • Problem With Spamassassin after updating

    I recently updated Spamassassin using this link as an excellent guide:
    http://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/SpamAssassin_on_Mac_OS_X_Server
    I got to point of looking at the --dump magic and I get an error. So I ran the same command with the -D flag:

    [mail:/Users/dude] clamav% sa-learn -D --dump magic

  • [SOLVED] Problem w/ lxdream after updating/reinstalling OS.

    Hi,
    Yesterday I've made update on OS and then I've got Kernel panic... So I've recovered data and reinstalled OS (it was the best option for me, because previous system was such a mess). After installing OS I've compiled by myself lxdream and after copying 'bios data' to ~/.lxdream it gaves me "Illegal instruction" ("Bledna instrukcja" in polish). So, I've tried compiling from the AUR and I've got this same result. Before update/reinstall everything was working ok. This is from 'gdb lxdream' and typing 'run':
    Starting program: /(path_to)/lxdream
    [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled]
    [New Thread 0xb3357b70 (LWP 1745)]
    ALSA lib pcm.c:7236:(snd_pcm_recover) underrun occured
    Program received signal SIGILL, Illegal instruction.
    0x0809547f in gl_reset_state () at drivers/video_gl.c:36
    36 glOrtho( 0, video_width, video_height, 0, 0, 65535 );
    (gdb) _
    My system spec:
    AMD Athlon 2000+ (1.6GHZ)
    512MB RAM in one DDR module (Kingston)
    80GB HDD PATA (Segate)
    Nvidia GeForce FX 5500 AGP (w/ using nvidia-96xx)
    Creative SB16 listed by lspci as Ensoniq 5880B
    I'm using xorg-server 1.7.5.902-1 and nvidia-96xx/nvidia-96xx-utils.
    It's not bug in alsa, because on previous install I've got alsa underrun occured and everything was working ok. Also it have other optional audio drivers (alsa,esd,sdl,null). Even on 'null' it's not working.
    I don't know what a problem is with lxdream, because previously it was working ok with the same drivers and 3rd party applications/libraries.
    It looks that some package after update have broken compatibility. I need this emu, because it's needed for me for Homebrew Development.
    I'll test lxdream on second PC with similiar specs, that have ArchLinux slightly outdated.
    It's my first post and sorry for my English, I'm Polish.
    Thanks a lot.
    // it works okay on second (not mine) pc, it has xorg-server 1.7.5.901 and open source ati radeon drivers (called 'radeon'), I don't know if that helps, if I would know how to debug it...
    Update:
    It looks that it's ia gtk or gl/glx bug, because when I comment this line 'glOrtho( 0, video_width, video_height, 0, 0, 65535 );' it runs, but when I get cursor over GL display it will crash with:
    Program received signal SIGILL, Illegal instruction.
    on_video_window_mouse_motion (widget=0xadff940, event=0xae03c18,
    user_data=0xae94600) at gtkui/gtk_win.c:133
    133 int x = (int)event->x;
    So it's looks that it is a GL/GLX or GTK bug. On that PC gtk version is 2.18.7, mine is 2.20.0.
    Update:
    I think, that it is a GTK 2.20.0 related problem...
    Update:
    Marked with 'SOLVED' flag in the subject.

  • How to execute " cat foo | grep something " in java

    Hi guys ...
    Am trying to execute " cat foo | grep dude " , where foo is a text file which contains a lot of texts and words. I tried a lot of choices but I end up with nothing like -
    Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(new String[] {"cat", "foo"}); , and by creating a stream reader on the process I get the content of foo file , but I want to grep something and I tried , Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(new String[] {"cat", "anas","| grep Dude"}); but I got the same result from the above command , I tried a lot of possibilities like -
    (new String[] {"cat", "anas","|", "grep", "Dude"});
    (new String[] {"cat anas | ","grep Dude"});
    and so on , also I tried to put the command in a string and execute it like here
    String command = "cat" + " foo" + " |" + " grep Dude" ;
    Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(command);
    .. I don't know it's like work fine but when it reached the part that related to " grep something" it just ignore it . so can someone help me in this .thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any further help ... by the way this the content of the foo file
    Dude I Am here
    what !! you cant
    see me or you

    if cat and grep are executable programs that work outside of the console app, it should work. But I don't think this is the case, in which case you need to open a console first.
    I haven't tried this on Unix, but below is how to do it on Windows. If you wanted to run "more" or "less" or "cd" etc in on dos, you need to open the console first.
              String cmd = "cmd.exe";
              TextAreaOutputStream taos = new TextAreaOutputStream(this);
              try {
                   mDOS = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd);
                   Piper p = new Piper (mDOS.getInputStream(), taos);
                   new Thread(p).start();
                   p = new Piper (mDOS.getErrorStream(), taos);
                   new Thread(p).start();
                   mDosOut = new PrintStream(mDOS.getOutputStream());
              catch (IOException iox) {
                   iox.printStackTrace();
              }

    Oracle Support/ Professional Services has a Data Unloader (DUL) and ORA-00600 has DUDE, both of which may be able to extract information from data files that are corrupted, where the control files are lost, etc.
    These are not, however, cheap utilities. Unless the data itself is really valuable, it is generally not a viable option.

  • TWO clips snap together after deleting the one between them without command

    Hi,
    Someone at an Apple store workshop asked today about a gap in a timeline which one usually closes by clicking "close gap", but in this case, the gap is closing immediately after the deletion without a command being entered. Does anyone know if this is a pref or a glitch? We tried (the Apple dudes and I) to find it but couldn't.
    Thanks.
    Mike

    If you use the small Delete key (forward delete above the arrow keys), it will perform a ripple delete, closing the gap as long as no other clips interfere with that operation.
    If you use the large delete key (backspace delete, located above the backslash key)), it will perform a lift delete without closing the gap.

  • Is there any command for Windows 2008 that is similar to Get-GPOReport for Windows 2008R2?

    I'm trying to export the GPO into an xml file for a network that we only have 2008 servers for, but I have tried the Get-GPOReport in power shell on another network, and I'm trying to obtain the same information. Is there a similar command? Thanks

    Hi baskervi,
    Based on my knowledge, the Windows Powershell command-line can be running on Windows Server 2008 R2. However, please note:
    The command-line can be running on Windows Server 2008 R2 on a domain controller.
    The command-line can be running on Windows Server 2008 R2 on a member server that has the GPMC installed.
    You must use the import-module grouppolicy command to import the Group Policy module before you use the Group Policy cmdlets.
    For more information, please refer to the following articles:
    Group Policy Cmdlets in Windows PowerShell
    Dude, where’s my GPO? Using PowerShell to find all of your Group Policy links.
    In addition, it would be helpful if you could help to collect the following information:
    What did you mean by another network?
    Did you got any error message when you run GPOReport in powershell on Windows Server 2008 R2?

  • Multipath -ll command doesn't give any output

    Hi all,
    I am new to configure storage in multipath. I have configured multipath in a newly installed oracle Linux 6.0 following Linux documentation; however, when I tried to list the multipath using the commands, it doesn’t show any output. I have stop and restart services, reboot the server to no fix. I have also check the LUNs that I can see the storage array's FC target ports from the server as well as the storage admin confirm that they are properly connected. Blew is the output when I used the commands. Please help and let me know if you need more info...

  • Can dscl do multiple -create's in a single command?

    Hi,
    I've got what I think is a simple question. Currently, I've just figured out how to use dscl, and I love it. I can create a new user with:
    dscl /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 -create Users/dude UniqueID 1001
    and then I can give that user other attributes like so:
    dscl /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 -create Users/dude RealName "Dude Maistro"
    and
    dscl /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 -create Users/dude gidNumber 1001
    BUT, is there any way to put those commands into a single statement? Something like:
    dscl /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 -create Users/dude UniqueID 1001 RealName "Dude Maistro" gidNumber 1001
    I've tried a bunch of different ways, read the man pages, and searched these discussions a bit, but no luck yet.
    Anyone have an answer for me?
    Thanks!
    Alex

    there's a brief mention of dscl in the "essential mac os x panther server administration" book, but you'll probably find more details on the site linked above: www.afp548.com. it's not my site or script, by the way.
    there may be more in this book, too.

    You know what? You're right!
    I don't know how I exactly got that version... I got back to the AUR and downloaded the new one. The strange thing is, while that old version's tar.gz conained a lot of files like I'd expect from a source archive, the current version only contained the files .AURINFO and PKGBUILD. Guess that's the way it should be, I'm new to all of this so I was initially surprised. Obviously, running makepkg here worked like a charm and downloaded everything that was needed for it to install. Then, econnman installed just fine too. What I can't explain to myself is why 1.8.0's tar.gz contained all those files.
    In the end, I couldn't use nor connman cli nor econnman to connect to my Campus' WiFi but, after a lot of trouble, I got it to work with dhclient and wpa_supplicant like it's suggested. This hasn't been useless anyway, I saw how to install from the AUR for the first time.
    I'll mark the post as solved, but I got one last question: provided I don't need econnman anymore, do you suggest me to keep python-efl or to remove it? Is it needed for something else I'll certainly run into in the future?

  • Mountain Lion Mail a Dud

    Mail in Mountain Lion is an absolute pain. Slow, balky, a dud. Any suggestions to actually improve it?

    Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folder.
    Back up all data.
    Triple-click the line below to select it:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
    Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
    from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder — not just its contents — to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
    Quit and relaunch Mail, and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window. If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Post your results.
    Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
    *If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
    from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • CatOS upgrade dudes

    Hi all,
    I have some dudes about a CatOS upgrade.
    I have a Catalyst 6513 runnning CatOS 5.5.1, I think on upgrade to CatOS 7.6.13.
    My dude is... is the config syntax compatible at all? If the answer is no, what changes should I need to do? where I can view the config syntax changes between versions (maybe a cisco.com url or other doc)?
    The chassis has only one supervisor card (1a) and one MSFC (version 2) so there is no high-availability versioning configuration.
    Other dude is...
    What are the differences between CatOS 7.6.x and a 8.3.x/8.4.x versions?
    Which is better?

    Hi,
    The config syntax is compatible and use the same commands.There will just additional fatures or hardware support.
    If your chassis has only one Sup1A/MSFC2, yes you dont have any high-availability support if your sup goes down entire chassis will crash on you.
    The difference between the code 7.6 and 8.3 would be some new software feature + the new hardware support and also some of the known bug fixes.
    Please see the release notes for both 7.x and 8.x for the new supports :.

    It works fine here, see below example:
    <pre>
    # mkfs.ext4 /dev/sdb3
    # mkdir /mnt/sdb3
    # mount /dev/sdb3 /mnt/sdb3
    # cd /lib64
    # tar -cf - . | (cd /mnt/sdb3; tar -xf -; sync)
    # du -s /lib64
    27072     /lib64
    # du -s /mnt/sdb3
    27088     /mnt/sdb3
    # du -s /mnt/sdb3/lost+found
    16     /mnt/sdb3/lost+found
    </pre>
    Do you have any hidden files on /extra/sdb6? Are you using the same filesystem? You can try the diff command to see what is different, e.g.:
    <pre>
    # diff /lib64 /mnt/sdb3
    Only in /mnt/sdb3: lost+found
    </pre>
    You can also use the cp copy command, but you will have to add some options to preserve file ownerships, timestamps, links, etc, e.g.:
    <pre>
    # rm -rf /mnt/sdb3/lib64
    # cp -pdr /lib64 /mnt/sdb3
    # sync
    # du -s /lib64
    27072     /lib64
    # du -s /mnt/sdb3/lib64
    27072     /mnt/sdb3/lib64
    </pre>

    175152     /extra/sdb6/home/oracle/
    [root@oracle-32 usr]# diff -r /mnt/home/oracle/ /extra/sdb6/home/oracle/
    Only in /mnt/home/oracle/.dropbox: command_socket
    Only in /mnt/home/oracle/.dropbox: iface_socket
