COMMAND 2 GONE!

I was astonished to find that Apple has removed Cmd-2 from iTunes (Equalizer). It's not a big deal, but I didn't like not having it at work on the Windows version, but I sort of got used to it. Now I have to go into the menu with my mouse! Aaargh. Apple REMOVING functionality?
I guess I should count myself one of the lucky ones as I have (knock on wood) not had any issues with gapless playback or any other new feature yet. I think it might say something for keeping up with all software updates. And this 'Book is over six years old.

you can add it back in by going to system prefs -> keyboard and mouse -> keyboard shortcuts -> scroll down to application shortcuts and click on it to highlight it -> click on + and choose iTunes -> type in "Show Equalizer" and made it command+2 or whatever
then just restart iTunes and it should work

Photomerge command has gone missing from File Automate - menu

Was using Photomerge command successfully in PS and at some point later PS crashed and locked my Mac. I restarted and now the Photomerge command is missing from the File Menu. I asked Adobe support for help, they had me reinstall latest PS but it's still not there.
Is there anywhere in the PS Folders I can check for a file associated with this command (like there are for Scripts for example) and could possibly replace?
I also tried initiating the command from Lightroom with a set of images selected and using the relevant contextual menu and it produces an error saying Photoshop could not be launched (it is launch though).

Hi and thank you. Yes Photomerge.jsx is there in the scripts folder. Although when I go to launch other scripts from within PS using the File> Scripts… menu I get the following error:

Until the recent update, I could bookmark a url in different folders. Now I discover, after bkmarking to folder, the bkmrk command is gone and I can only edit

I bookmark url's in different folders. With this most recent update, after bookmarking into the first folder, I discover I can only edit. Seriously? I need to store the link in entirely disparate folders for my own purposes. I have established an organized set of folders (taxonomy) flexible to my professional needs. Please revise to include the previous flexibility of bookmarking more than once.

I need to bookmark a url into different folders for my professional work. This is not tagging, it is to make sure the url is available in completely discrete folders. If anyone knows of a solution, I would very much appreciate it. Until less than a week ago, I could bookmark into multiple folders without a problem.

What happened to Batch command in Photos

Batch command is gone in photos. In iphoto I was able to to change Title, Description, or Keywords for all selected photos under the edit window.

I found many of the other features that Apple has deleted with the release of Photos including Batch to be useful.
Since Apple has taken their stand to dumb down their photographic app, I am now going to look elsewhere for a non-Apple product that better satisfies my needs then the toy they are offering.
Maybe if I go with a vendor who is only do photographic software there might be less chance for them to go the same route as Apple.

How to undo the "replace with after effects composition" command?

I don't know if there is a better way, but i make my color corection in after effects with Color Finesse and i use this command: right click on clip and "replace with after effects composition" - that a good way but, the problem is when i wanna to undo this and to bring back my old clip from an AE Composition.
this is how my clip looks beforee
and after
it works fi i use "undo" command, but after i save the project, and restart premiere, that command is gone.
my question: what can I do to bring back my old video?

You can try to go to one of the autosave versions and see if you can bring it back that way (if the history is cleared)...
Seems a little extreme
If you still have the original source audio in your sequence, as your example shows, park the CTI at the beginning of clip instance and target just the audio track (i.e. deselect the video track). Hit the M key to match frame the original master clip, hit I to mark an in point, and then hold down the Alt key and drag the Video Only button from the Source Monitor to the AE comp item. The AE comp will be replaced with the original video and linked to the audio.
The upshot of all this is that, unless you make a duplicate before using the "Replace" command or undo immediately after doing so, there is no direct way to get back to the original footage.

Mac OS 10.4 QuickTime Pro purchased, registered, then "nothing"

Today I purchased QuickTime Pro 7 for Mac OS X online. I have placed the correct information into the preferences/registration area and verified inside of the QuickTime 7.0.1 preference registration area.
The Pro features are not visible (as in "nothing happens"); also, I purchased QuickTime MPEG-2 playback for Mac OS X and again I cannot run it, much less locate the downloaded document.
I know my transactions were completed, as I received acknowledgements via e-mail. I also know I have typed this in correctly. I have not used Quicktime Pro before, but shouldn't some additional features show up?
My goal here is to convert some DVD footage (in VOB format) into Quicktime so that I can drop into iMovie.

You'll probably have more luck getting help if you ask in the QuickTime for Macintosh forum. But if the "Pro" label next to the extra commands is gone, then your copy of QT is registered correctly. Note that QT Player cannot edit multiplexed MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 videos; you have to demultiplex them before importing them into QT.
If that doesn't help, try asking again in the QT for Mac forum.

How to update table styles in the new Pages?

Anyone found out how to update table styles in the new Pages? I see it's done in some of the templates that Apple provided, but I can't find it. Also, the Copy table style command is gone, so I can't make my tables look in a uniform way, unless I use one of the built-in styles.

I'm having the same trouble. Looks like no way to create an overal 'table' style and I cannot access the table paragraph styles either.

Preview Adjust Size Problem

I receive a PDF file which I print on my HP printer. In the past, in order to get the bottom to print completely, I used the Page setup and set the page to 95%--Now on leopard, that command is gone. Under the Tool Menu, there is an "adjust size" option, but it's greyed out for me. Any ideas?

it shows how you can still access the page setup options. Basically just go file>print then click the arrow next to your printer and the scaling option might be hiding there?
Sorry if this doesn't help at all, I don't know why "page setup" is only sometimes an option. Ridiculous!

Photo Page will no longer publish new photos

I have an Photo Album with with 12 Photo Pages. Total number of photos in the Album is 364. My newest Page will no longer publish new photos. The Album and Photo Pages, up to now, have been working fine. Is this a case of where I need to break up the Album Page.

The "empty cache" command is gone from the Safari dropdown but Option/Command/E still works and is in the develop menu.
A hard refresh (Shift/Command/R) has been missing for a long time - maybe V 4?
Safari is becoming more and more dumb with every update. I keep saying that its hardly worth testing in Safari since its a minority browser but does anybody listen?

Can CEs on ACNS 5.0 be upgraded using CiscoWorks

The existing documentation isn't particularly clear about whether you can upgrade a CE that is running ACNS 5.0 to a newer 5.x version (once it comes out) using CiscoWorks. The 4.0 version could be configured as ECDN or not. That command is gone now. I am guessing that the CE is in ECDN mode only now but that is just a guess.

That's my guess too since the command seems to be missing from the command reference. I am not sure if the cache and ecdn technologies have been integrated in the 5.0 version. Could someone shed more light on this?

The command is gone because iDVD has been discontinued by Apple. After Apple discontinued iDVD they removed the iDVD burning link from iMovie. I still use iDVD sometimes, only because I have an old copy.

I don't know what RF means. When I have used HandBrake, I've used presets that apply to what I want to do, so I don't know the meaning of each individual setting. However, it appears that many of them are listed in the HandBrake User's Guide that is linked from the Help menu in the program:

Photoshop is not amateur-level software, and although it can edit a video, it cannot burn a DVD. Unfortunately, because I still use iMovie, I haven't tried anything else. You might want to read the reviews of various DVD-burning applications in the Mac App Store.

Where is Ducking in GarageBand 10 for Mac?

I downloaded the new GarageBand (10.0.0). The Ducking command is gone. Does anyone know where it is hidden? Or is Ducking gone completely?

It is just the command that is gone, and now I can't disable it. Very nasty.
Did you open a GarageBand 6 project with ducking applied in GarageBand 10.0? Yes, that is messy. The ducking seems to be burned in and cannot be toggled on and off.

Printing pre sets not saving

I save photo printing pre sets according to the kind of paper I'm printing on. I use an Epson 2200. I change the print settings and color management and do "save as" Enhanced Matte or Watercolor. When I go to print again Enhanced Matte and Watercolor are still there but the print settings and the color managment settings aren't saved.

Thank you so much for responding to my dilemma. The shortcut sets do show up in the Preferences and don't disappear once the shortcut key stops working. What is odd is that my Shortcut Set is still there, but my shortcut commands are gone, so I probably should have stated "shortcut command", instead of "set".
Also, there is somewhat of a mystery going on here, for me, anyhow. I thought I would try one more time before updating to 7.0.4, and for some unknown reason everything is working as it should. I didn't restart or shut down before I left for the evening. So I'm unsure of what was going on.

HUGE powermac open firmware issue.

Well, basically I have a sawtooth G4.
I was trying to install Tiger via any method possible, since the DVD drive doesn't seem to work.
So using another mac, I tried to install it via target disk mode.
Well, the G4 wouldn't boot into target disk, so I booted into open firmware.
I typed in "target-mode"... and it said "ok". It basically did nothing.
I got frustrated and typed "reset-nvram", booted back up in open firmware, and the entire "target-mode" command is GONE. Nothing. It can't find it.
Any idea on what to do would be highly appreciated.

Hi there, put the Install Disc in the other Mac, boot the other Mac into Target Mode, boot the Sawtooth G4 with the Option/alt key held down, does the Install Disc show as a boot choice?
If so select it & Install.

Issue with load more messages feature

Hi, I'm new to the Iphone 3Gs and I have notice a strange behavior the the "load more messages" feature.
I've setup my mail account with Gmail and everythings works fine. My mail setting is set to show the 25 more recent messages.
When I go to my inbox and press "load more messages", it loads 25 more messages so thats makes it 50. I've notice that my inbox will now show 50 messages until a power off/on cycle, than it shows the 25 more recent messages again as stated in the mail settings.
Here's my problem. The imap folder "All Mail" from Gmail does not work like this. Everytime I hit "load more messages" in that folder it loads more messages but never reset to 25 after power off. Now that folder shows over 100 messages.
Is there a way to reapply the show settings to that folder ? Only thing that works that I found is to delete the account.

Hey man, your problem sounds similar to the one I'm having. I can't load more messages on both of my email accounts. But I think I might have figured out the problem. I recently re-installed my hotmail account and when I was looking through my,"Unread" inbox the, "Load more messages" command was working just fine. So I was continuing to go through my messages to make them read (because if your like me, I don't like to have any messages, "Unread." So when all my messages were read there was about 80 in total, and my setting was set to show the 25 most recent. So I backed out of the mail app, did a few more things and came back hoping that there would only be 25 showing with 0 unread and the ability to load more if i wished. Well, there was 25 showing but the box with the load more messages command was gone and no matter how many times I tried to refresh it would not come back.
So my theory is this; there always has to be an unread message in your inbox for the load more messages to work. Sorry about the long post. I'm going to test this theory out, knowing my luck, it won't work at all. Good luck bro!
