Command: extract color pallette from image

Hiyas,
I remember being able to run a command, proably an extension,
to extract all the colors in an image, and paste them nicely in a
what looked like a color sample format in a new image. Essentially
it was describing all the colors in the image, with a square of
color, along with the hex values of each color.
I can't remember what this command is, or where it can be
found.
Can you help?
Thanks,
Steve

  • How to extract the number from image using java

    Hello every one
    i want to develope a project which can extract the number from image
    that i can use as inter or String or char.
    Is there any API in java which provide this type of facility.
    right now i m using java 5
    thanks in Advance
    Jignesh

    In my project i have a image in that i have a
    co-ordinate (x,y) I am still puzzled as to what you seek. It sounds to me like you have a point (x, y) represented by p. in java it's just p.getX() p.getY()
    i want to convert that cordinate to numeric form,
    i mena i want to use that cordinate in somewhere else
    in project.point.getX() point.getY()
    So need to convert it into numeric form u can called
    it OCR also.OCR is optical character recognition. If I want out and took a picture of the US Declaration of Independence and then wanted the words on the parchement in the picture in text form, then I would run the picture through a software program and it would try to optically recognise what lettering and number were present in the picture. In the end, I would have a text of what is written on the US Declaration of Independence.
    Is that what you want?

  • Oracle UCM - Extract IPTC data from images

    Good Day,
    I'm hoping that someone might be able to point me in the right direction. I'm trying to extract IPTC data from images originating in lightroom and map that data into custom metadata fields on check in. I've installed content categorizer but it doesn't seem to grab the IPTC data. I sure hope someone out there will be able to lend me a hand.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Having '@' and '*' characters in the data will not make any difference if you are using a combined column separator of '|@|' - provided any process you use subsequently can handle it.
    However, the recsepchar parameter appears to be restricted to a single character which is repeated right across the page, so I don't think you could have a single iteration of '|*|' using this method:
    SQL> set  newpage 0 space 0 pagesize 0 feed off head off trimspool on
    SQL> set recsep EACH
    SQL> set recsepchar '*'
    SQL> set colsep '|@|'
    SQL> select * from testa;

  • Batch extract file resolution from image xmp file

    Hi all,<br />I am looking for a batch process that extracts the X & Y pixel dimensions for a bunch of TIFF files.<br />I find the data in the XMP file when I save out the file:<br /><rdf:Description rdf:about=''<br />  xmlns:tiff='http://ns.adobe.com/tiff/1.0/'><br />  <tiff:XResolution>3000000/10000</tiff:XResolution><br />  <tiff:YResolution>3000000/10000</tiff:YResolution><br />  <tiff:ResolutionUnit>2</tiff:ResolutionUnit><br /> </rdf:Description><br /><br />I do not know if I need to start with the XMP file or if I can start with the source TIFF file.<br />Ultimately I would like to save the dimensions to a database.<br />Any help would be great

    It looks like every time I capture an image of a vm, a snapshot is taken of each disk and then a vhd object is also created. So can I convert the vhd's to a disk without going through the create-a-vm-from-image process? Going even further, if I just took
    snapshots of my vm's, can I turn those snapshots directly into disks?

  • Extract vhd / disk from image?

    Is there a way to extract the os / data disks from an azure image so it can be mounted as regular disks on another azure vm?
    For example, I capture an image of a vm. Later, I want to extract an earlier version of a file that exists on a disk in that image. Right now, I would create a new vm from that image, detach the data disk, delete the new vm, attach the data disk to another
    vm, and finally access the file. Is there a way to re-create the disks stored in the image without going through the vm-creation bit?
    As mentioned above, for data disks, I can detach it from a vm and attach it to another vm. But is there a way to do the same with the os disk? When I delete a vm and tell it to keep the attached disk, it doesn't seem to apply for the os disk. Or at least
    I don't know where to look for it. For example, I take an image of a vm. Later the vm no longer boots. Instead of deleting the vm and creating a new vm from image, a less drastic approach is to shutdown the vm, detach the os disk, attach the os disk from
    the image, and try booting the vm. Is this possible? I would normally do this on a <cough> competitor's cloud service.

  • Extracting Colour Areas from Image

    I have an image which has a color tone,which I want to remove, the highlights in the image but also find a identical larger image with the same color tone I What can I do.  I've been thinking of many options, one option was to enlarge the image then clone paint it onto a flat surface so I could get most if not all of the color combinations which is my main goal.

    " Create a color swatch and build up using the color swatch as close as I can in hopes that it works."
    Build up what exactly? you never explained what you are trying to do with the colors.
    (And I noticed on the Illustrator forum that other members have an hard time to understand exactly what you are after... Please help us help you! If you do not describe with words easily enough, please post a drawing/sketch of what you are after...)
    Otherwise, open the other document next to the muscles one, get the brush tool or the paint bucket tool, ALT+Click on one color you want to sample inthe muscle one, then paint of fill the area you want to color in the second document with that color, and repeat for each color that you want to use.
    Once a color is sampled, you can also save it to your swatches panel, if you right-click an empty area in the panel.
    I used the patch tool for my example, but you could use most other correction tools. Or smart fill (select the highlight a bit loosely, then press the backspace key.)

  • Read color information from images.

    Can anyone explain getpixel() to me. I don't understand the manual with all it's Databuffer talk.
    Can I load an image and get straight access to it's pixels or is there something i have to do to the image before i can get access to it?
    Thank you.

    You can use the java.awt.image.PixelGrabber to get the pixels. And with the MemoryImageSource it is possible to work on the pixel array, and have the component you draw the image on updated.
    There is an example in the API for MemoryImageSource.

  • Reading text and charachters from image

    Hi,
    Is there anyone that could share code to extract/collect text from images? I've tried nConvert and gocr but its not working very well (also its external programs). I would be extremley grateful if someone could share som code to parse the texts and numbers from an image.
    Thanks in advance!

    To answer your question - I'm teaching myself java and I haven't covered enumeration classes yet.
    With the setGender("Q") scenario, the data in the text file has already been validated by other methods before being written to the file. Anyway I worked out my problems were caused by "input = read.readLine()" being in the wrong places. The code below works fine though I've left out the set and get methods for the time being.
    Chris
    public static void readFile()throws IOException{
    String name = "";
    String gender = "";
    int age = 0;
    BufferedReader read = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("myfile.txt"));
    String input = read.readLine();
    while(input != null){
    name = input;
    input = read.readLine();
    gender = input;
    input = read.readLine();
    age = Integer.parseInt(input);
    input = read.readLine();
    System.out.println("Name: " + name + " Gender: " + gender + " Age: " + age);
    read.close();

  • How can I extract and save a color profile from an existing file?

    I've tried various methods with no success.
    And those were...? You need to be specific. Generally though one would simply install the profile file rather than jump hoops to extract it from an image, where it may be incomplete or lack other critical info like other profiles or specific printer or monitor information it may reference.

  • Pdftotext extracting from image files mystery

    hello all, just had a bit of a shock when I ran pdftotext (accidentally) on an unocr'd pdf file, and it extracted all the text. Running pdftohtml (as I'd intended) produced the expected output - i.e. png dumps. Curious, I then tried running it on a bunch of other downloaded files, and with the exception of one, pdftotext extracted the text from ALL of them. The mystery then is that it isnt using any ocr (no tesseract dependency, plus it's way too quick), so clearly it must be pulling it directly from the files. But if the text really is there in the original, then presumably the people who scanned them didn't know, else they'd have left it there. The only thing I can think is that some common piece of pdf software (probably acrobat) has ocr built in, so it's scanning them automatically and then encoding the hidden text in the pdf.
    take for example (legal):
    http://www.cd3wd.com/cd3wd_40/JF/JF_VE/SMALL/27-714.pdf
    open up in a normal pdfreader - very clearly a (poorly) scanned document. Now run 'pdftotext -layout'  on it and you get a pretty impressive text file, considering the source. Sure, some of the formatting is messed up, but I'm sure anyone with sed knowledge could quickly sort most of that out. Besides, that's one of the worst documents -  on most others it was perfect, maintaining columns (even tesseract can't do that) and everything.
    It makes for a fantastic command line pdf reader that works on almost all the files I've thrown at it, and since pdf's are almost the only reason I ever have to load up X, consider me tickled pink.
    Just thought I'd mention it here, as a google search brings up nothing on the issue. hope someone finds it useful

    Yes, Adobe Acrobat has a feature that allows you OCR the text and insert the text as a separate layer behind the image. Such PDFs are called "Searchable image PDFs". There are no doubt some other commercial software options that can do this too. The copier/scanner/multifunction device in my office actually does this automatically when you scan in a text PDF.
    Theoretically, it is even possible to create PDFs like this using free software on linux (a combination of ExactImage and Cuneiform; or WatchOCR).
    See, e.g., this blog post:
    Searchable PDFs with linux
    and this slashdot story:
    Open Source OCR that makes Searchable PDFs
    My own experiments with trying to get something like this to work have not been very successful--at least the quality of the result is nowhere near what I'm getting with our work printer.
    If you like pdftohtml, you should also know about pdfreflow, which takes the XML output of pdftohtml with the -xml flag and creates an html file that can be reflowed (I.e., is smart about paragraph breaks, removes page numbers and recombines words broken through hyphenation and so on).

  • Copy or extract an image from image fill

    It's pretty frustrating that Numbers puts images into Image Fill, so you can't easily copy/paste an image in a cell.
    But it's extra frustrating that I can't seem to find a way to copy or otherwise extract an image that is an image fill in a cell.
    That means that the only way to extract the image to use in something else is to expand it as big as possible and then do a screen capture (command-shift-control-4) of that image. A total inefficient hack, sadly.
    Suggestions are very welcome.
    Note: comments like "Numbers isn't a database" and "an image is not a formula" are not only unhelpful, but don't actually answer the questions. We're required to use it.

    Start Numbers.
    Open the worksheet with the image fill.
    Select the (Numbers) cell with the image you want to copy.
    Open Inspector from the Numbers toolbar.
    Click on either Table Inspector tab or the Fill Inspector tab. For this specific task, there is no difference.
    Click on the thumbnail image displayed. The outline should turn blue.
    Command key + C (or from the menubar, Edit, Copy) to copy the image to the clipboard.
    Now open Preview. If Preview is not already open, clicking on any image listed in Finder (.jpg, .png) will open it.
    Now in the Preview menubar, select File, New from Clipboard.
    When you click Save, you can save the image in your choice of graphic formats from the dropdown menu.

    hedger,
    How do you expect anyone to help when we don't know a darned thing about the file, abut your setup, exact version of Photoshop and your OS, machine specs, etc.?
    BOILERPLATE TEXT:
    Note that this is boilerplate text.
    If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand,
    such as your platform (Mac or Win),
    exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CS6", but something like CS6v.13.0.6) and of Bridge,
    your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
    the type of file you were working on,
    machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,
    what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far,
    what error message(s) you receive,
    if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
    if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
    etc.,
    someone may be able to help you (not necessarily this poster, who is not a Windows user).
    a screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too.

  • Remove color profile from an image

    How to remove color profile from an image is it possible through any script?
    Manual Try - Don't Color Manage this Document: option is used to instruct Photoshop to remove an existing embedded profile but when I save the file, close and open it I still see a color profile in the embedded image.

    On the mac you could have sips do this (it may depend on the file type). You would loose the files creator if Photoshop was its last editor though.
