Command-L no longer works

Command-L no longer works to select to address bar (or whatever it's called) in Safari. The key binding is still there, but the "Open Location …" command in the menu is grayed out and can't be selected.
I haven't done anything to change the key bindings. Anyone seen anything like this before?

Never mind. Fixed when Safari was restarted. Thought I had tried that, but apparently not.

[SOLVED] Xscreensaver-command -lock no longer working

As of yesterday afternoon (probably after the upgrade to 5.13-1), I have been unable to lock my monitor using xscreensaver. The screen fades to black, only to jump back to my desktop, and xscreensaver reporting a crash. I honestly can't see a reason from the log file, but I have little experience with programs like this. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could either confirm/let me know it's a bug that has no workaround, and I'll gladly report the bug.
Things I've tried:
Re-installing 5.13-1 (no change)
Restart of system & xscreensaver (no change in either case)
Downgrade to 5.12-2 (which works, as it did before)

I have the issue as well.
Edit: For now, I've downgraded as well. I need this to work for security reasons.

Bug in 10: Command 2 no longer works

This is an annoying bug... I use command 2 for most video playback, as I find that playback at double resolution is a good viewing size on a large screen.
Command 2 has worked for years, and it still works when viewing video from within iTunes. Using the new Command + to slowly increment size is much more inconvenient.

I don't want to do either of those things...
This is a UI inconsistency - every other video playback utility (pro, QT9, VLC, iTunes, DVD player) uses command 2 for double size.

Command-C no longer works in some apps

All of a sudden command-c isn't copying! Choosing Copy from the Edit menu does work, but that's hardly convenient.
While this true in almost all apps (Pages, TextEdit, Excel, Outlook, etc.), in one, at least, (MarinerWrite) command-c does work! I've changed keyboards, but that doesn't help.
Anyone got any ideas?

System Preferences -> Keyboard.
Then the "Shortcuts" tab, look for warning sign, yellow triangle, in the left pane.

Command Keys no longer work

A few weeks ago I was sipping my tea and using my laptop. I spilled a bit of tea into the keyboard. Everything works except the command keys on either side of the space bar. I've remapped the command function to the cntrl button, so I can use the function somewhat, however, I can't use it for start up functions (can't zap the pram for example) because the remapping takes effect only once the start up is complete.
It's gettin' old.
Any suggestions?

You will probably have to replace the keyboard, becuase it is hardware damage. I would bring it to an Apple store and they can replace the keyboard or send it in for repair.

HT5449 The voice commands no longer work

Apple should take down the voice commands that no longer work - it over sells a product that is, while good, significantly less useful without the commands it claims to support. It has also lead to me wasting time trying to get them working as the Apple site itself says that that should. It wasn't until I Google'd the issue that it came to light these features have been removed after patent issues with Nuance.

Some Keyboard Shortcuts No Longer Working in Apps

Recently, two specific keyboard shortcuts have stopped working within all my apps:
command-1
command-2
For example, in Final Draft they are supposed to switch formatting to become scene headings and action lines, respectively. All the other command shortcuts still work. In Word, I have command-1 through command-6 commands set to change text colors. Command-1 and command-2 no longer work but the rest stil function properly.
All of my shortcuts worked perfectly for well over a year. Anyone know why two of them might have stopped all of a sudden?

Here's the second way:
While logged into the newly created admin account, backup the bad account's folder, delete the bad account, selecting the save data option (which is stored in /Users/Deleted Users/ as a disk image), recreate the bad account using the same username/password combo, log out and back into the recreated original account. If the problem's solved, open the saved data dmg file in /Users/Deleted Users/, open the /Library/Preferences/ folder from the saved data, open the current /Users/restored account/Library/Preferences/ folder, and slowly copy plist files from the saved data folder to the current one that don't exist in it. Log out and back in to ensure there's no conflict and things still work correctly. Resolving conflicts or identifying corrupt plist files is a laborious process. Good luck.

Forms HOST command no longer works after database upgrade from 10g to 11g

Hi,
After upgrading the database 10g to 11g the forms HOST command no longer works on Unix server. The form used to work fine prior the upgrade. I read all the threads I could find and did not see any solutions. Adding PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH does not work because it does not even run a basic shell script. (I saw this solution, adding PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH, in many questions / threads).
1. I wouldn't expect the database upgrade to be an issue, but it is the only change we had.
2. Note, 11g is Oracle Fusion Middleware which is quite a bit different than 10g.
I even tried the most basic commands like "echo" which is a build-in Unix command and there is no directory for it (ie. no /usr/bin - so variable PATH is irrelvent). i.e HOST('echo hi'); and HOST('echo "hi" '); and even HOST ('echo hi > /my_file.txt'); all returns FORMS_FAILURE (actually the if is IF FORM_SUCCESS THEN ... else ... and the else part always runs now - whereas it didn't before.).
Or basic commands like /usr/bin/ls as in HOST(/usr/bin/ls). At that point I was just testing the Unix command would return FORM_SUCCESS even though I could not see the results (because they weren't writing to a log file). Notice that I'm using the direct path /usr/bin so no Unix environment variables were needed.
The form does use webutil but that part works. For example, we have webutil_file_transfer( ....) The file shows up on the application server and in the expected directory.
Here's the main goal. Upload a file from clients local PC to the datebase server. The form uploads the file to the Application server, then we have a Unix script to scp (secure copy) the file from the application server to the database server. IF webutil, or any other Oracle functions could put the file on the database server that would be better. But, I don't know of any procedures that do that - or would have done it cleanly (i.e. storing to database and write back to server and then using a blob etc. )
Anyway, I was hoping someone would help with either of these.
1) Get the HOST command to work. - If we can get that to work then I wouldn't need any more help. We can just call the already existing Unix script to copy the file from the application server to the database.
2) OR be able to upload directly to the database server - wanted to do that originally
Any help would be appreciated

When trying to execute a Shell script or any OS command using the host() Built-in from Forms 11g, the host()command is not getting executed. The same functionality works on other operating systems and in previous versions like 10gR2.
Steps to be followed:
1) Take a backup and edit the $DOMAIN_HOME/config/fmwconfig/servers/WLS_FORMS/applications/formsapp_11.1.1/config/default.env or any custom environment file.
2) Locate the following environment variable:
LD_PRELOAD=/ora10gas/app/11.1.0/Middleware/as_1/jdk/jre/lib/sparcv9/libjsig.so
3) Comment out this variable. After the changes, it will look like the following:
#LD_PRELOAD=/ora10gas/app/11.1.0/Middleware/as_1/jdk/jre/lib/sparcv9/libjsig.so
3) a) Instead of LD_PRELOAD, kindly use LD_PRELOAD_64 as given below :

(This makes HOST AND RUN_REPORT_OBJECT work fine).
4) Save the file and execute your forms. The Host() built-in will work as expected

Did you consider using one of the "workarounds" below to run an existing version of the AD Module for PowerShell under a specific PowerShell version:
a. #require -version 3.0 (in ps1 script)
b. powershell -version 3.0

Command plus is no longer working for me correctly in Safari 8.0.2.

Command plus is no longer working for me correctly in Safari 8.0.2. When I use it to zoom in a safari window, it makes fonts bigger instead of scaling the entire page bigger like it used to. What changed or what did I accidentally change? This is only happening in Safari. When I use Command Plus in a Chrome or firefox browser window, it works perfectly still.
To explain this a little better, I have a 27" iMac. When I open a browser widow in safari like yahoo.com, The content fits in about a 10.5" section of the screen. If i go to full screen or enlarge the window to fit the full screen the same 10.5" content is centered in my screen. Previously, I could use Command Plus to zoom and the entire page would scale increasing from 10.5" to eventually filling the screen. Now when I use command plus, the font's get bigger and bigger but the page width stays at 10.5"

Welcome to the Support Communities! If I'm understanding you correctly, it appears you have updated Safari to the latest version, but are still using Mountain Lion as your operating system, is that correct?
You may need to adjust your screen resolution, or the zoom settings in the Accessibility pane of System preferences. Usually, zooming changes the size of text or content in a window -- not the size of the window itself. So I usually go to full screen mode in Safari, and then zoom in if I need to enlarge the text.

At first my keyboard did not work with Citrix Receiver after upgrading to OSX 10.9.5 and I found the workaround by using "cmd + tab," however, once my keyboard work within Citrix, the "command, control, and option" keys no longer work. Does anyone have a remedy for this?

Toolbox shortcut commands no longer work in CS2 and...

Toolbox shortcut commands no longer work in PS CS2. Any command that I try to execute in PS generates a "program error" message, including trying to exit the program. Now I have to go into Task Manager and "kill" it in there to get out of it. Images and changes will not save.
I have deleted the PS preferences and rebooted. I un-installed and re-installed PS. Same problem. Only happens in PS, not InDesign.
I can click directly on the toolbox to activate a certain tool, but this is so painfully slow. I'm pretty much dead in the water so any help appreciate.
Dell 8400 3 ghz box, Window XP latest version, all updates.
Tons of memory and hard drive space.

The program has worked without any problems for two years. It was purchased at CDW under our company account.
Here's where I am with it. I am completely screwed now and at the "format the hard drive" point. When I go to install the CS2 Suite, the installer disk says that everything is out there on the hard drive BUT Photoshop, even though I used the installer CD to removed all components. I can't reinstall over anything, or install anything at all.
I went through the OS Registry and cleaned out what I think is everything but the install disk is reading something somewhere in a file that I can't seem to locate. I also went through the Common files under programs and cleaned that out as well. So, it looks like a reformat for me.
So, I've order a brand new 250 gig hard drive in case there are any issues going on from that end. Right now I'm going through withdrawal symptoms because I no longer can access CS2 and I have a boatload of projects to work on. Your basic nightmare. Wait, maybe I'm dreaming all this...

Command-Shift-Delete no longer works in Mail

I could easily delete Mail Trash using Command-Shift-Delete. Now that no longer works.

It isn't about whether it's monospaced, it's about whether the font contains the style variants. Clearly Apple is taking the position of the typographic purist, which means they won't fake a bold or italic like in the old days, they only want to use it if it actually exists.

Save for the web keyboard command no longer works

I have Photoshop CC on Mac OS 10.9.2.
For some reason I can't figure out, Shift-Option-Command-S no longer opens "save for the web" dialog. It does nothing at all.
I can open the dialog from the menu itself, no problem; it's just the shortcut that has failed.
The shortcut is still visible in the menu as the appropriate command, but it does not work.
Any thoughts?

I've found that once you start using custom shortcuts it can get you into trouble with some of the standard shortcuts. My experience was using the Arrange Documents shortcuts from the Michael Ninness Power Shortcuts workshop, which overwrote Free Transform step & repeat. Even though I had my custom shortcuts saved in my dual monitor workspace, it was overwriting the Essentuals workspace.
If I reset Preferences I'd be OK again, but as soon as I switched to my dual monitor workspace, it would overwrite Essentuals again. The fix was to reset Preferences again, and save a new version of Essentuals I called 'Essentuals 2' with keyboard shortcuts and menus checked. That lets me use the dual monitor workspace for the most part, and switch to the Essentuals 2 workspace if I need to use FT Step & Repeat.
